Or simply go all in on one type with the bare minimum investment in the other. Personally I'd focus on fluff or coolness. Pick options that you think suit the character instead of ones that seem strong. As long as you do that, I imagine it'll go well.

Okay, I've been reading some of the writefags. God, Ai is SPOOKY. Like, the details about her gooner cave... scarily good writing. I was wondering if maybe I could write a thing where Kaoru suspects her of something mysterious, because Ai keeps skipping gym class and things like that, only to find that she's not really doing something evil, but rather she finds one of Ai's goon trinkets or something. I think they might actually get along, since they would both have secrets to hide from others, and Kaoru would learn that some people aren't really evil, just weird. I've also had a concept relating to Kaoru writing journal entries about how her work with the student council goes, how she gets along with them, what she's trying to figure out from each one, and things like that, although I'd also like to write something in a Bleeding Zone too. Ai is suicidal.P5 on the other hand is more a story about chaffing under societal pressure and learning to stand up for yourself without just perpetuating bad cycles. He may make new friends, but he has this gaping void left by his crush, she meant him the world, the love of his life even if he didn't know it at the time. He doesn't know how to go on, how to fill this void and live again, and new friends are just reminding him of the void.

Possibly to do with organized crime, and that's why she prefers the comparatively kind Senki to other groups that were taking over.With Paradise lost, I think maybe the criminals were up to some spiritual shit and she's getting more proactive with joining others to solve the problem because of it. She's taking Darker Nights less literally and supporting the Senki to make everyone safer (brightening the darkness) and just generally is a night-person. And I feel like Mysterious Bleeding Zone ties it all together pretty well. Its not just a shithole, its a serious problem.

I’m a bit worried that my WIP writefag might seem a little contrived at parts.Basically, there’s a scene where Kaoru asks Shu to just walk home while she follows from a distance. Her excuse is, she wants to figure out if Shu and Ai might live close to each other or share a commute. In truth, Kaoru just doesn’t want to tell him that Ai’s stalking him. Eventually, Kaoru does see Ai in the distance, and she has to make up a bullshit excuse for Shu to go home so she can pursue Ai by herself. The excuse I have up to now is “Ai’s scared of boys seeing her in sports wear, that’s why she skips PE, if you talk to her now you’ll make it worse so let me talk to her”. Of course, this is basically a plan for Kaoru to test how far Ai’s obsession with Shu goes. I don’t know if I would be writing Shu too much like a clueless idiot for this to work. Outside of that, even if there will be a confrontation and a brief fight, Kaoru will be revealing her own secret to Ai, so they’ll be more or less equal. Kaoru would confirm that Ai means no real harm to Shu, and would agree to help her get close to Shu if it means not missing out on PE anymore or generally trying to be a little more healthy, on top of keeping her yandere shit secret. Just a little character development for both, as Kaoru actually learns to more or less trust someone and Ai finds a friend that will help her not only get closer to Shu, but also be more healthy.
