Thread needs more print pics
Guy is selling an ELEGOO Saturn 8k on Facebook marketplace for $100, but one of the corners of the screen is dead and can't be printed on. (Probably like 10% of the total screen area) Is it worth it? It would be my first printer
craptastic cell pic but i just printed this androsphinx from crab miniatures. It came out great. Ive been using a mix of crab and Txarli minis for my opr tomb kings army and the stuffs been great. Their pre supports have works surprisingly well too.
>>96724980Yes. Buy it to familiarize yourself with the aspect of printing in itself. The print area is big enough so you wont notice those 10%, and you will learn how everything works. And if you realize that printing is not for you, you wont have lost so much money
>>96725017It is a well regarded printer or kinda a shitty one?
>>96725055Elegoo is THE brand, generally speaking, and while the Saturn 2 (i assume it is, because you mention 8k) is not the newest model, its still good enough to print you decent miniatures.
We managed to go the whole last thread without a furry comment post. Can we do it again?
>>96725300It doesn't say Saturn 2, just Saturn 8k
Friends, countrymen, lend me your ears. I seek Mark IV and Mark III builder kits from Loggyk, would any of you be willing to share?
>>96725575No, you just did it moron.
>>96726200Support the creator and pay for it u faggot
>>96727161I wish! It's been deleted from Cults due to GW being shit. Otherwise I'd bloody buy it.
>>96727296Disgusting, that's not even something GW makes anymore since they went full primarisharts
>>96727360They currently sell mkII, mkIII, mkIV and mkVI in the HH ranges. The mkIV do have different proportions than the other ones though.
>>96727432That's because they're ancient and completely underscaled in comparison to modern Heresy kits. Loggyk's Mark IV fixes that, and his Mark III has more poses than the five plastics are in.
>>96725575what about >>96684050 and the reply you blind faggot. >like in any civilized forum furfags arent welcome here
>>96725016Looks great. Necrosphinx replacement? How are you planning to paint him up?Also, would anyone happen to have STLs for AL Lernaean Terminators? Checked all the usual spots, no dice.
>>96724980Just wait for a sale and buy a new one. It isn't THAT much more expensive. You're going to spend the difference on a new screen and FEP soon enough anyway.
>>96732151This. Get a Mars 4 during the usual black friday sale instead of a half broken printer you know nothing about.
>>96726200All over telegram. But then buy something from his cults or throw him a donation, he didn't deserve the attention he got from Mordor>>96732075There were a couple of sets made but the unit name is basically kryptonite to internet users. Try different misspellings.
What do you think about GW suing Ghamak?
Been looking for this guy but he doesn't seem to be on the Kyoushuneko minifactory. Anyone know where I can find the files for him along with the other dwarf samurai minis by Kyoushuneko?
>>96735870Just another in an ever growing list. While ghamak is standing up against them is a good thing, to beg for money from the same people he made thousands of euros from already is highly jewish. He knew this day could come and if he didn't prepare for it but putting money aside for legal issue then fuck him.
>>96735870If things are really managed at the filing-court level and not escalated to specialized courts, he might actually be okay if he knows somebody (not likely, he's from a bumfuck small town) or if he somehow manages to make the right impression.Honestly, allowing him to take the matter into a court by getting behind him to shoulder the initial legal costs might actually be the best case scenario to set a precedent against GW.It's a trial in FUCKING SICILY of all places, about a matter so nebulous that convincing somebody who knows nothing (and doesn't care) about Space Marines and whatnot that this is real actual important business is pretty much a shot in the dark. The court bowing to the giant corporation "just because" is probably just as likely as getting a "Fuck off with this bullshit, they're not actual 1:1 replicated forgeries so I couldn't care less, REJECTED".Trust me, I'm from Catania. Also, In Italy, when you lose you usually have to pay all the legal fees of the winner too. So while this could end up crushing Ghamak forever if it goes bad for him, it might also end up being pretty hilarious if some whatever judge decides that getting bogged down with little plastic toys is not worth of his time and summarily rules agaist GW because "They're not direct copies, you have no leg to stand on".
>>96735970>He knew this day could come and if he didn't prepare for it but putting money aside for legal issue then fuck him.How can you make such assumptions? Legal fights can easily drag over years, so asking for money is never a bad thing and his reserves might only last so long..
>>96736146>Honestly, allowing him to take the matter into a court by getting behind him to shoulder the initial legal costs might actually be the best case scenario to set a precedent against GW.This. If this is settled with some kind of deal, behind the scenes, GW (their specialized lawyers ofc) will make it a win for them. But even if he loses, it might give other creators some valuable insight on what exactly is problematic to sculpt, and what is not, because GW will have to deliver a detailed list what exactly is wrong with which of Ghamaks sculps in order for the judge to even attempt to understand the situation.
>>96735968First result when i look for "dwarf samurai"
>>96736146I really hope GW fucks something up and the judge makes them stop going after sculptors for a bit.
>>96736184But then when he wins he gets all of that back and makes bank off the backs of people who already supported him.Tipical Sicilian.Jokes aside, about >>96736146, it really is a shot in the dark. I'm browsing through recent article #2598 (on which the entire thing is standing) cases in the same court and hell, the fact alone that GW sells physical minis in stores and Ghamak sells files to be then printed by another completely different process could very easily be determined as the fact that the products are intended for two different markets and be ground enough to entirely dismiss the case in a complely judicially fair and unimpeachable way. That would be a hilarious "Please base all your 3D-sculpting enterprises in Sicily, we have a precedent and will have your back" turn of event. On the other hand, GW then could pivot to have a tiny section for stls on their website (useless shit for basing or you know, those "Battlefield Trophies" bits) so that they can "rightfully" claim the same market. But I wouldn't put them past being jewy enough that they wouldn't put anything digital up because the margins would be lower, even if that would make it easier for them to squash small-time sculptors.
>>96736212I saw it was a large bundle on ebay but I'm just hoping to buy the files. Where did you find that one?
>>96736293Telegram of course.
>>96736252>On the other hand, GW then could pivot to have a tiny section for stls on their website (useless shit for basing or you know, those "Battlefield Trophies" bits) so that they can "rightfully" claim the same market. Its actually surprising they did not already do that. I expected their transition of FW towards providing prints and not casts of upgrade parts and maybe even STL files to go a lot quicker. It will come eventually, and if its only for legal reasons to support their fights against the competition, as you said.>But then when he wins he gets all of that back and makes bank off the backs of people who already supported him.But he only gets the full amount back, if he wins in full. Its also possible that it will end up in a draw, or a partial victory/loss. And to enable him to even do this for some years (which is something that will, no matter how it ends, provides a lot of clarity for other creators and customers too) giving some bucks is not the worst thing to do. Worst case for everyone involved would be if he has to submit because he cant afford to fight. Because this would encourage GW to go after the next one. And that next one might be a creator whose models i actually like.
>>96736293Here you go:https://gofile.io/d/u5MB2F
>>96736341>>96736212Might be because I'm in the US but the result didn't pop up. Regardless I really thank you anon. These models look really cool and I have no idea why they aren't available publicly even for purchase.
Just want to print some chorfsMoney is not a issue but time and less stress isThis a good option?
>>96736393The chorfs in question
>>96736333>It will come eventually, and if its only for legal reasons to support their fights against the competition, as you said.Honestly, I'm all for having the GW Store turning into basically Hero Forge where I can assemble MYDUDES™ and the buy them, even if they overcharged for stls (which HF kinda does) and had all kinds of Premum paid-service bs like full kitbash ability to pose shit.I'm fully convinced that if they don't do that they're dead in the water in 10-15 years.Thing is there's a not-zero chance they won't because "NOOOO WOULD BE THEY BE STEALING OUR STLS RIGHT AWAY!".Wake the fuck up and smell the coffee, James, that's already happening, people are 3D-fying your preview pictures with AI to a pretty accurate degree (any maker worth of their name would be able to make them table-grade with very low effort months before they're even out), scanners will become consumer-level and widespread day-1 scans will be inevitable, it's a losing battle, adapt or die.
>>96736393Saturn is overkill sizewise for regular models. Get a Mars instead.
>>96736439There will always be a market for plastic (scale) models. I can see them establishing a boutique 3d-printing service as a side business (similar to FW with their resin stuff), but the plastic injection molding will not go away for a long time.
>>96736393Those are fine machines from a reputable brand in this space. The Resin might be bad, depending on how prone you are to dropping things. ABS-Like resins can take some falls, regular resin can shatter like glass depending on the brand.I have the older version of the saturn 4 ultra, and I love it, but it has a hatch where resin could get into the machine, which is bad. I printed a year and never had a critical spill, even though I had holes in the film, so it is avoidable by care. The problem with the Saturn 4 ultras is the experimental flip mechanism, which makes spills worse, but helps soo much in print adhesion. If you don't want to deal with it, the Saturn 3 Ultra is better than the basic Saturn 4.
>>96736503What's the best resin? going to be painting my chorfs but never playing with them
>>96736463The mars 5 ultra easy to use and stress free?
>>96726200Give him a shekel he does good work
