Many planets recruits stay in regiments with their unique culture / armaments and they can be bigger or smaller than any other regiment. The tallarn barely had anyone and krieg has multiple full regiments gallivanting around the galaxy. And that's not even getting into the complications of partial regimental elements being deployed away from their parent force, or the further complication of attached support elements not techinically under Astra Militarum pervue such as a transport craft and close air support from the Navy and its sub organization that handles Atmospheric Aviation.All that is too say: It's exactly as big or small as makes sense for the story you want to tell, like most things in 40k.

I'm trying to get into black templars lore since I bought a lot of them for a discount. The models are cool but from what I can gather from the the lore aspect from the faction, sigismund jobbed to abbadon (but in a based way???) and they had some big chungus wholesome reddit moments on armageddon and then some random filler fights here and there that all space marine chapter get. When I go online, all I get are esports review of the faction, phonk edits, and some random chud tubers glazing them for obvious reasons. Can you guys recommend some black templar books other than the armageddon series which I'll probably start soon enough.

I've been looking through the lore to find times the emperor interacted with the chaos gods and I noticed an interesting pattern. They're always described as being near him but avoiding coming too close. When a Harlequin was on Terra she described them like void sharks being kept back by a void whale. When the Lion was in his weird warp forest he kept noticing shadows around the wounded king, but they never touched him. When the king was on his boat fishing they stayed in the river. In his hall the shadows stayed on the walls. I think the message to take away from this and the emperor burning Nurgle when he did get access to his garden is that the emperor's current presence rally is anathema to chaos. It burns it real good. But the emperor can't move toward the chaos gods. Maybe because he's still tethered to his body, maybe his mind is fragmented, IDK. The Lion also almost got killed by the chaos gods when he asked the wounded king how he could be healed. It caused the "shadows" to turn their full attention to the forest and the emperor had to banish him back to realspace or something like that before they raped him

Turns out, he put the wrong heads on them. I'm building my Aspect Warriors with all helmets, this guy did them all unhelmeted. And properly plastic cemented them in too, so I can't just pop them in the freezer. He did include the bits, so I have the right heads, but I need to get the wrong heads off first and I'm not sure how to do that in a way that minimizes risk of damage to the rest of the model.Anybody got any tips for removing these wrong heads?

I need advice anons. I'm varnishing my first couple models, and doing a coat of AK gloss before going over them with AK ultra matte using an airbrush. After finishing the first coat of gloss, I realized how much I love the gloss finish on the rifles, it looks true to the finish a lot of wooden stock rifles irl have. Obviously the gloss on everything else looks bad ie the cloaks. Should I attempt to mask off the rifles with blue tack before going over the models with matte, paint on some gloss by hand afterward, or is it just too much work to be worth it?
