If Josh Reynolds, David Guymer or Noah Van Nguyen have their name on the cover you can usually expect that it will, at worst, be an entertaining read. I personally also like CL Werner's output but he's got a few titles I don't much care for. Anna Stephens also got some nice stories to her credit but only a single full-length novel in a collaborative series that seems to have been quietly discontinued.

It's a meme in the warhammer community, so no, it will be dragged out into the streets until nothing remains. And then people will make copies to do the same with.

>mortek ranged troops
>big ranged guy/guys ( 4 arms! 2 bows! Shoot two niggas once! Shoot one nigga twice! )

I'm hopping pic rel was a one off and we get something a bit different for the base ranged troop. I liked the idea of having very advanced almost modern looking compound bows but even crazier, on dudes with massive arms to account for the draw pull, or hell just give them multiple arms.

If there's one thing I appreciate AoS for, it's giving the lizards more personality than they had in Fantasy. Sure it's still mostly Skinks doing the interesting stuff since the Saurus are too autistic for personalities and Kroxigors are barely sapient, but it's a good move.

their chariots crash and burn or burn and crash at a moment's notice because they carry explosive magic on stuff made of woven twigs, and this is a feature, not a bug
the chief's chariot has 2 jars in the back, one with moondust, the other with sun-charged shit, which get released together to react and give the chariot literal rocket boosters
the wolf is the guy in charge, the fat guy is just a patsy that he chooses whenever the last one dies
the bigger wolves have to be ridden in tandem because in order to tame one you need to raise it from when it's a cub and requires 2 parental figures
the shaman is a madman on a pole because he thinks that makes him closer to the sun
their average random scrap is polished to absorb, store and unleashe hysh light, which is a trick the lumineth couldn't do until teclis babysat them
they don't follow the sun because they worship it, they want to fucking kill it and steal its shit

lizardmen don't reproduce sexually, they spawn fully formed from magical pools
their language isn't gendered, they have no real concept of sex or gender when it comes to themselves, only for animals

the skinks try to pick up on the linguistic norms of the other races when they're tasked to interact with them, there's an example of a skink in the rpg that ends up referring to itself as a she simply because the humans around it assumed it was a female because it had the feminine role of taking care of their baby dinosaurs like a mother would

LEWD LORE QUESTION

So Bull Centaurs are all male? It would be interesting if we got a female version of them in future.

But male Bull Centaurs are all favored children of Hashut, a god of literal domination.

So do Bull Centaurs have sex with normal Chaos Dwarf women? Or are beautiful and tight elf and human female slaves brought to them to satisfy their needs? Maybe even Hedonite women to spice things up?

After all, their every desire is tended to in lore.

The tome says the chorf mothers frequently die birthing the bull centaurs, so another baby would likely either be killed in the womb, or die during childbirth too - and mom would be extra screwed.

I’d read a book from a POV of a chorf with a bull centaurs brother, though. Would be interesting. Hell, a chorf POV book in general would have a lot of potential. BL capacity to write it, though…

They haven't gone far enough in the bone crafting. This thing is by far the most interesting model in the range. It's visually boney, but it doesn't have anything about it that would be natural. Compared to a lot of the regular units that just look like armored guys who could be made of just about any material. I mean, I like the idea of the Grievous knockoffs when they're not retardedly holding a two handed weapon in both of the same side arms, but there's nothing about them design wise that really screams "these guys are fucked up skeletons."

BL really needs to have some guest authors. Pay a stipend and have the type of authors who just crank shit out to come and write some shit. Not like BL authors have a good grasp on the lore they right about anyway for the most part. Brandon Sanderson could probably shit out a trilogy in the time it takes these BL authors to write a single book.

AOS as a setting would be the perfect setting for something like Elric, man. Just find an author who gives half a shit and lay off the Branding(tm).

ironically, I think the artillery piece actually shows off the bone crafting stuff the best, having a bunch of centipede bone feet and being one massive bone supported by smaller support bones. The setting already has giants, they should use more giant bones for weapons and armor and things, it would look cool.

There's 3 kinds of Hedonite, anon.
>Godseekers

>Invaders (business as usual, Slaanesh will show up eventually)

Prayers would totally fit for 2 out of 3 at worst, and it would help push the narrative of Slaanesh reaching out of imprisonment like they did when the Twins were dropped.

One of many reasons I’m just using slittaz as a proxy for Vandalz. Main thing being slittaz are cheap as dirt and fuck paying GW for 20 vandalz (65 fucking usd retail) when you can commonly find slittaz, which are barely distinguishable as different and are on the same bases, at 10 bucks per 10. Ludicrous.

Honestly part of the problem, potentially. Pay some actual talented writers to write compelling stories and enrich the setting in a reasonable (and business-aligned) timeframe. Release the book alongside the new releases, use the author as cross promotion.

But no, keep paying hacks and college grads to write garbage stories that very few people even buy in the first place. GW needs to spend some of their fucking money, lord knows they have plenty of spending and investment capital and they raise their prices every goddamn year. At least make the ecosystem we’re buying into interesting.

>>
>>96831061
Even if AoS wasn't gy and retarded there would still be no good books because black library is cringe shit under all circumstances.
>>
>>96833831
It is canon and I am going to comission a artist to make a high quality 15-20 pages comic showing decadent opulent stable like palaces where Bull Centaurs live per lore, sexually ravaging various beautiful sexy tight elf, human and dwarf slave women.

Bull Centaurs are children of the Bullfather, and those women will grow addicted to their potent members and seed.

Also, I have a idea for a Anointed Sentinel to fuck Hedonite women while chanting Hashutite scriptures.

Any good recommendations for a artist. I might even share the work here once it is done.

I purposefully ignored everything about Darkoath until I saw the new marauders, now I'm interested but I heard Darkoath are kind of shit in game too.

Do they serve any real purpose in StD? Chaff doesn't seem all that necessary when you already have affordable bricks like warriors and knights.

>Make an active effort to keep all models segregated into their own settings

GW should just be chill and expect and encourage people to take models from HH/TOW and use them in 40k/AOS.

None of the Warcry warbands were ever really meant to replace marauders in AoS, though they tried for one battletome.

Kairic Acolytes and Blissbarbs are definitely marauder equivalents, but they would still function alongside baseline marauders as their magic/archer support units.

both games are to have vastly different art directions
if you are TOW only kind of guy, you should view AoS as protecting you from "wowification" in art direction.
As many have criticized that has meant AoS looks more like World of Warcraft (its the most popular fantasy game of all time, no shit their artists and marketing team are gonna use that in their mood boards)

GW being expected to make sure the games look distinct from each other lets TOW stick to their roots so AoS can push more into pure high fantasy stuff

I think a Death hero who swings around a coffin would be cool. Maybe with a new faction of recently deceased people who desperately hunt souls to replace their own lest they be reaped by Nagash and tormented in far worse ways than they currently suffer. Like a reverse FEC where they're horribly aware of their undead nature but try to appear as alive as possible. Also the recently-departed thing could be neat where they cover up obvious wounds or use the very weapons that killed them.
