Went back and highlighted the standing Witch King model a bit because even though I wanted to avoid it looking too painted and want the range to look more movie accurate/realistic, it seemed a bit too flat without contrast. I think I'm calling it on that model, just gotta base it. Went ahead and base coated the mounted version too, damn good model.

Try and stipple or drybrush instead or you can clean them up by painting a medium silver to thin the fat lines. Nothing against you but the silver pops out in a bad way. Not entirely sure what caused this bit of texture on the wings. I was using a old shit brush, so maybe the bristles were sort of disintegrating and leaving texture? Griffon Claw from TTC and it's not a chunky paint at all. The primer is pretty smooth too to the point it was being a little hydrophobic at the start

Alternatively it could have been from dust or flecks left in the brush itself. You don't need anywhere near as much of the stuff as people seem to think as long as you are flushing your airbrush after use. Don't run ethanol or acetone based cleaners through it though as you will fuck the O-rings. If it needs a deep clean then you can use that stuff but make sure to remove the O-rings prior then let it soak.
Well, that was a fun challenge i suppose. People doing nmm on an army are insane and need mental help. I think I'm going to go back to using metallics with some nmm shading techniques. It takes 10% of the time.

If you've only used water-based or solvent-based acrylics and you've deferred cleaning a little (maybe the phone rang or you had to make dinner or something) then chasing the hot water with IPA will probably do the trick. If you let ANYTHING dry in your airbrush, the easiest option - by far - is to just go nuclear and use lacquer thinner or acetone. Those solvents will muderdeathkill everything (especially dried paint) from every relevantnook and cranny and do it extremely fast. The downside is that unless you want to stink up your workstation you need to have either a pot or a functional extraction system.
I don't understand you people. I have a bottle of acetone on my work bench that I use to degrease parts before I put threadlocker on them. I don't even notice the smell.

Can't really catch it on photo but each time I try to paint faces, they end up "smeary" as if instead of painting, I rip off previous layer or leave sharp shadows. But then again, trying to get glazes often ends up releasing too much paint and drowning said shadows. Meh.
