I don't understand why they didn't just make the Tau Breacher squads gue'vesa. It's literally the perfect role for them, it's close-quarters combat so humans are better if things become a melee, but still using Tau weapons and equipment so it's not a role Kroot could fill.

So far I've been playing my space marines generic but tempted to try blood angels and run 6x sanguinary guard plus a thunder hammer captain with the enhancement that gives them all infiltrators for first turn carnage. Also a phobos captain so I can reposition them at the end of deployment.Any downsides apart from the ugly models?

You can also bind a daemon to a physical object, then lock that object away, preferably behind a few stasis and Gellar fields to lock the daemon from escaping. There's a whole host of reasons why daemon skulls would be around. For one, they could just be fakes. Or mutated skulls. They could be recently deceased daemons whose bodies have yet despawned. Or they could have a stasis field or some dark magic keeping them from despawning.

What has been the worst 40k release from this year so far?
So here's what's gonna happen. Codex: Chaos Daemons will not be released this edition, but it will remain as an index for the time being. As of next edition Chaos Daemons the pretense will drop and the army will technically be discontinued. Models will stay as all flavors of daemons are being shuffled into the army list of their corresponding Chaos Space Marine legion. Be'lakor will move into Codex: Chaos Space Marines.The vacancy this leaves will then be filled by Codex: Cogs of Vashtorr about midway through 11th.
