reccommendations for how to paint word bearers?i've seen both matte and metallic schemeswould something like a maroon basecoat and red highlights be a good start?
>>96871201Wouldn't go metallic, since metallic red has more strong associations with TS for most people.
>>96871201This may sound obvious, but gal vorbak red is an excellent basecoat. For quick basecoats on a word bearer, spray the model grey, use gal vorback red on all the armour panels you want red, and black legion contrast on every other part, then go in and pain the silver bits silver, and gold bits balthazar. After that you can do your choice of washes and highlights, some just use nuln oil all over but I've seen success in using the bezerker bloodshade on the red and nuln, agrax and medium mixed 1:1:2 on all the metal. After that highlight/layer on your choosing of red (ibthink khorne red is great), and paint eye lenses green or blue
Sometimes I feel as though I'm overcomplicating my concepts for the various specialists. I saw this earlier, which made me realize that.
I have a retarded question, I never bothered to watch the Horus Heresy announcement trailer from earlier this year until now. It has Jenetia Krole (that is her, right?) in it signing to Valdor, and she says "the gilded lie". What is she talking about and if she's talking about the Emperor why would she? I get that Valdor hates the Emperor, but why would Jenetia?
>>96871405It's just supposed to convey to the audience that there were cracks in the foundation. It's meant to be vague and ominous.
we better get the faq today or I swear to god
>>96871405Its clearly not the emperor, all of them (krole, valdor, malcador) are religiously devoted to the guys cock. The gilded lie is probably "the imperium", the vision of utopian progress and unity it offered. Maybe the primarchs and their infallibility.

>>96872099Anything that nerfs return fire is a win in my book. Get fucked.
>>96871574Valdor hates the Emperor, man. He just isn't allowed to hate him. Instead he does this neat trick of negotiating with the blockers the Emperor put on what he can and cannot do. A good example of what I mean is Valdor intentionally slow rolling helping when the vaults beneath the palace were under attack by the Chaos gods. He specifically wanted an outcome that would result in them being destroyed, as well as the Space Marines whose gene seed was down there. Valdor also repeats the phrase "that there will be no new generals" in his book because he feels he should be the only general that the Emperor uses given what he's sacrificed, and he can see how the Emperor operates having been there since the start. At the end of the book, when Valdor seemingly laments that there will be no new generals to Malcador, Malcador coyly says that the Emperor has begun to locate the Primarchs. He also discusses what a great loss it is that the gene seed was destroyed by Astartes that she bombs. Except you know he doesn't mean a word of it. When he is fighting Ushotan he mentions that the Space Marines will replace the Thunder Warriors and that Ushotan should have seen this coming from what he knew of the Emperor and how he treated the Thunder Warriors. Ushotan mentions he doesn't like the Space Marines, and Valdor admits he doesn't like them either. This conforms with the idea that he knows the Emperor's long-term plan will result in the Primarchs replacing him, just as the Space Marines replaced the Thunder Warriors. Valdor realized that, and so every bit of inaction he takes is an attempt make the plan fail. So when Malcador talks to Valdor and he tells Valdor that not only have the Primarchs been located, but also the Space Marine gene seed has been copied and sent the moon well ahead of time, he does so in a way that is meant to mock Valdor for thinking his plan of doing nothing was going to work.

>>96872125I understand the logical reasoning of 'statuses can't be applied to ALL models during RF,' I'm saying that's retarded because it ignores the simple reality that inflicting statuses on vehicles workd differently from other models, functioning as a damage substitute rather than an annoying check that can trip you up in addition to taking damage. This faq basically reads for vehicles as 'if return fire doesn't pen armor, you automatically pass all saves,' making it effectively worthless for everything but lascannons and meltas (and encouraging the spam of both) They pretty clearly didn't think this one through and forgot to add in a clarification substituting damage for statuses. Simple as
>>96872161>Just encourage armourbane spam instead of interesting shit like grav gunsThat's part of why this I don't like this
It'a shame they didn't do anything to the Mechanicum transport jank, so the Macrocarid is still a brick, but overall I like this. You can Special Assignment in additional High Commands, which means you can have multiple Archmagi but not multiple Apexes. Scoria can now go in a Command slot and run around as the beatstick he is without impairing your ability to take a decent Apex detachment, which is a big improvement.>>96871887I guess I get a free allied detachment for the prime HQ slot now? Incredibly confusing change but sure, I'll take a fake Warlord detachment for Scoria on his own.
>>96872201Grav guns are for applying statuses with shock/pinning on your turn.

>>96872216Tech-thrall chads stay winning!
>>96872210And now they'll be skipped because they're doubly less useful than armourbane since they essentially do nothing in return fire to vehicles
>>96872234You dont take graviton weapons to deal damage to vehicles. You take them to apply pinning to units (vehicles or otherwise). Theyre a status application weapon, like all the other status weapons (they also dont apply statuses on return fire)

>>96872245>t. only owns one grav gun on a leviathan On a squad equipped with them they pretty consistently chip at vehicles. But that was just my example- my main point is why the hell not just take less ranged weapons that can only glance vehicles, when you'll inevitably run into vehicles that blow them off the board with no chance of a counter? Might as well just skip any unit with any special ranged weapon thats not armourbane or under str 9 because a vehicle can now shoot at them with absolutely no chance of a clap back. All this does is encourage armour 14 vehicle/anti tank spam because they're now more all-rounders than they already were, which is bad because that's already pretty strong and potentially might have needed tuning.

>>96872083>>96872062I dont have the rule book in front of me but here is the thing i would like to know. and how i would play it in the game. You cant apply a status effect from a reaction however, that does not stop the process of calculating glacning hits. For example, lets say i glance you 4 times. I still roll on that glance table, its just a matter of the statuses never actaully stay applied they just go away, but for the purpose of removing wounds, it can can still wound you. So say for glance 1 i roll a 1, on 2 i roll a 3, and on 3 i roll another 1, and on 4 i roll a 1 again. I applied 2 statuses but because i rolled the same status twice it does 2 HP but then at the end of that reaction the statuses just go away. It's only relevant if they're dueling their brothers, they can all kill essentially anything else unless they get very unlucky against Scoria, Valdor, a Tribune or an Arcuitor, they're usually not going to die otherwise and the things that counter them (Headhunter bomb, seeker spam, stranding them in the middle of nowhere and statusing them until they cry becuase they don't have nuncio-voxes) work fine on Vulkan.

>>96872973bro sees 10 heavy bolters and probably thinks that's a busted army
>>96872884This is why i said i dont have my rule book but it deptends on when the statuses are applied. or rather not applied for exmaple When you fire your weapons and roll all your glances, you might roll various results like shaken or what ever, but those statuses dont get applied till after you are finished shooting which means you being able to take a hull point off of a vehicle happens BEFORE you would apply statuses and therefore not apply them because its a reaction. Vehicle damage happens at a step before status application is my point.
>>96872894Retarded 40k players who cant understand the game is meant to be a wargame an thus meant to be narrative, because of retarded like this who will rule argue that glances cant do damage. >>96872884and need to have friendly and enemy spelled the fuck out for them.

>>96872902Doesn't answer why the top tier legion deserved 3 buffs but let's talk about Vulkan's impact and power if you want.>Probably because relative Primarch punching power is not actually that important?I was talking about Vulkan in general and sorry, but Primarchs power IS imprtant. They already are impactfull models and unit, Vulkan's absurd ruleset isn't needed. 7 wounds with T7 and the Salies trait already puts him in a very respectable position. But being abble to bring 4 easy prime slots (which aren't unit locked), on top of a great 1st turn sire rule, a great shooting gun and hands down the best gambit in the game isn't exactly "not that important".There is no reason Vulkan deserves to be miles better than any of his brothers, especially when the faction is already very powerfull without him. This isn't to mention that primarchs duels are fun and very rarely one sided ... except when Vulkan is showing up.Facing Vulkan in 3.0 is as interesting as facing Ferrus last edition.

>>96872326>best tank in game and best shooting unit in game are bad because I say soAll this tells us is you're a complete and utter retard who has never played the game. If you ignore a kratos that's 8 damage of stable lascannons per turn and 16 damage of stable 24" overpowered melta each turn. The 6 stable super shots means it's worth it against any elites, any terminators, any transports, any tanks. If it only had the melta and autocannon, it would be ignorable. Actual kratos users instead add 4 lascannons letting it get 24 super shots from lascannon+melta per game so ignoring it just means all your transports, terminators, vehicles and 2+ armor squads get wiped. Seekers, kratos, corvidae and vulkan are the top 4 things in the needs-urgent-nerf to become anything resembling a normal unit category. It's not even at the level of needing debate - anyone claiming otherwise is automatically nogames.
What could Journal Tactica: The Isstvan V Dropsite Massacre – Part Two possibly feature in terms of new unit profiles?
any 3d prints or conversion guides for combi-bolters on power armoured men in a side-by-side configuration? >>96873825>ap5No it's not
>>96873584I would like to thank my 100pt Vulturax for singlehandedly turning two unassisted Kratos into useless bricks for the entire game because they have no autorepair. The annoying part is that there's not much you can do about them if they have a bunch of techmarines sitting on top of them, and Mech isn't the best at shooting through AV14.Never really had a problem with Seekers, although Magi don't give a fuck about S4 sniper fire and can often heal themselves. They're definitely not the best shooting units in the game unless all you're fielding is medium infantry that can be easily sniped, they can't hit above S4 and die when breathed on.Corvidae I agree on.
>>96873584If you think those are bonkers bro the felblade fucks shit up.
>>96873584>Seekers, kratos, corvidae and vulkan are the top 4 things in the needs-urgent-nerfBeen playing the same Seekers, literally the same models, since 1e and wow are they bonkers in 3e. There's really no reason not to run them. Even at 1w they guarantee maiming things if all they do is return fire once. Breaching should be a flat value of 5+ with a modified AP value in parenthesis. Eg Breaching (3) is on a 5+ to wound, change the AP value to 3.Corvidae is a symptom of bad plasma and breaching being flat AP2. Autocannosn should be Breaching (3) while plasma is Breaching (2), get rid of this maximal bs.Kratos need weaker rear armor and to lose stable. Still scary on return fire but less scary.Vulkan is busted but personally I don't think Primarchs should even have rules. He needs a nerf, I just personally wish the beef was deletion of al Primarch sheets.
>>96873847As marines you can now throw (veteran) breachers with lascutters at AV 14 vehicles and pretty much guaranteed destroy them in one turn.Genuinely don't get people being upset about kratos. Maybe they're throwing a fit because it can destroy their precious spartan partybus holding all their thunder hammer terminators.
>>96873903This is why i have been saying since the start of 2.0.Breaching needs to change to Breaching(x/y) a to wound roll of a x sets the AP of that wound to Y.
>>96873903>while plasma is Breaching (2)And always overload 1 if that wasn't obvious. No dual profiles. Plasma is dangerous both ways.
>>96873903Plasma just needs to stop being second fiddle to D guns which in reality is more like 3rd fiddle since D guns are shit. Plasma should be Base AP4, breaching 5+ on normal. if you over charge it, it should be AP3 base, Breaching 5+. plasma should be the anti MEQ weaponD guns should be AP3 breaching 5+ but do 2 damage and cost more and be the anti Vet unit and possible anti TEQ weaponsWhile melta should out right be the fuck you Anti anything in range unit. Kratos needs to lose stable, that shit is bonkers when you consider thins like the LR and spartan dont even have it.
>>96873415Salamanders in general beefy, but I wouldn't say they're too nuts. Salamander troops take some shifting but even with FNP6+ and their legion rule they're only Tacticals, they will melt to anything that usually melts tacs. I definitely don't think they're strong enough to leave them out of the generic fixes that came in for precision-wounded characters and similar just on those grounds or the grounds that their primarch is above the curve for slapping other primarchs.
>>96873959I would rather the Kratos loses armour, it being unusually indestructible is the annoying part. It's not shaped like every other 14/14/14 tank, it has the visual language of the high-front-armour gun platforms like the Saber and the Sicaran, so it should follow that.>>96873911Even mech can handle it in melee with thinks like Moiraxes or meltabomb Thallax, the main issue is that it has no reason to get anywhere near you so it's relatively hard to do so.
>>96873999Dunno how it is for mech, but as marines it has never been easier to get into melee range. And I'm not even abusing charging out of dreadclaws yet.
>>96873999>hard to do so.Just stuff 10 vet breachers with 4 las cutters into a drill.Drills gonna run you 85 points, and you will be able to jump out and unload those 4 shots into it, which is gonna do enough damage to fuck it up. Sure you cant charge it but its gonna need to scoot away, and you can charge it next turn. Or do the same thing with a Melta support squad.
>>96873903>>96873936I like that breaching. Allows for a variety of weapons to have it while not being instant AP2 deleters for Corvidae. Even Disintigrator rifles could benefit.
>>96874030Hell honestly i would even be so bold as to put it on thing like say a chain sword or chain axeChain sword: Breaching (6/3)Chain axe: Breaching (5/3)
>>96874042I'm on the "shred should be old brutal" train myself. Much more threatening to 1w targets.
>>96874061>old brutalAbsolutely fucking not. Brutal was a horribly busted rule in 2.0If brutal was applied AFTER you failed a save? Sure fine, but forcing double saves? fuck that, its why TH were the king of 2.0 because you payed 15 points and effectively doubled your damage output on what ever model you put it on which is fucking insane.
>>96874030Why not change Corvidae which is causing the issue, instead of making breaching even more useless for everyone else
>>96874027Mech has no assault transports and no transport flyers, so we're stuck with Termites and disordered charging. Thallax aren't bad at getting into meltabomb range while doing useful things on the way at least, they all have very large guns.>>96874028Marines are fine, little bit harder with an Armiger or nine dipshits with 10" move, meltabombs and a dream. Luckily, statusing it with the Vulturax's effectively guaranteed Suppression and deep striking a termite or thallax squad to assassinate the techmarine if any has worked great so far.
>>96874113Brother just ally in some space marines. Siege master, 10 vet breachers in a drill and call it a day.
>>96873501It's ok Anon I'll help you count.1) Special snowflake heavy flamer buffed to ap4.2) Inductii now get to benefit from the ld8 of the sergent, essecially giving the unit +1 ld.3) Cassian now gets paired gravis fist for +1 attack on an already top tier unit.
>>96874113Even with disordered charges you can get over halfway across the board before even rolling the charge. Can't imagine triaros have less than 10" movement.
>>96874113Add a master of decent, turn 1 those thallax
>>96874134To be fair though, im NTA, but flamer going to AP4 means fuck all except against enemies that are already not going to be getting an armor save from weapons far more threatening.
So, unless you Intercept using a Lascannon (armourbane), you might as well do nothing?
>>96873936the other big thing needing removal is there's no reason crits or rending should apply breaching, it's the #1 thing ruining the entire 3rd edition's game balance. And GW already knows, they don't allow skipping the wound roll in other games to automatically proc every ultra-wound ability (because obviously that's turbo retarded game design)If our goal is to treat breach/shred as buffs, so we can't simply miss them, then the simple solution is just rolling for them anyway during crit/rend.Each attack that procs could simply roll a pseudo-wound on a separate fire group to see if any activate breaching(X) or shred(X). Then breaching(6+) would not double-dip with rend/crit to ruin their shitty playtested balance. 9 corvid plasma guns avoiding overcharge to use basic breaching6+ would have 6/18 hits rend and of those 6 rending hits they only breach 2x instead of the overpowered 6x. That would instantly make breaching(6+) as normal as it's meant to be. Only weapons which are actually AP2 or Breaching4+ should be drowning in low AP hits.It also makes the game more granular rather than all-or-nothing. Currently there's too many situations you roll a 5 to hit and don't even need to bother as it's dmg1 saved on 2+ for 0.17 wounds average or you roll 6 it's immediately 2-3 damage (crit/shred/breach). It's best if there's less skew each roll (charges do this when they have you do 2d6 and pick highest).
>>96874157Correct here is the fucked up part.>React against a vehicle>Get a 9 glances>Nothing happens. vs>React against a super heavy>get 9 glances>Do 9 hull points since glances do HP agaisnt Super havies. So ill let you figure that one out how and why super heavies which are massive fucking tanks, can be wounded by a glance in a reaction but a rhino cant lol.
>>96874166>the #1 thing ruining the entire 3rd edition's game balance.ehhhhhhhhhh i would not agree with it being the number 1 things. The number one thing is honestly scoring at the end of turns, and detachment spamming/abusing.
>>96874149the math has already been done, master of descent thallax multimelta deepstrike is a fuckton of points and doesnt even scratch a kratos.
>>96874134>1) Standard heavy flamers are AP 4 too. The upgraded heavy flamer having lower AP was a clear oversight. Also complaining about AP 4 LMAO>2) Oh no, a basic troops unit has Ld. 8, shaking in my boots right now>3) Model got the same benefit from wargear of similar equipped dreadnoughts. Another obvious oversight that got fixed. Two of these are fixes, the third barely means anything. All are so niche that calling them buffs is quite the stretch. What's next, are you gonna cry about how the TS special bolters no longer having the assault trait makes TS literally unplayable?
>>96874157Yes, because as we all know it is literally impossible to score a penetrating hit when doing return fire.
>>96874171>Ramming absolutely gutted (Death or Glory obsolete as a result)>Glancing / Pens ass backwards when all they needed to do was tone down Explodes (not even actually remove it)>No more Vehicle speed>Dedicated Transports are bought separately, like it was a "Master of Transports" chaperone CenturionAll the vehicle rules of 3.0 are a Big Fat Mess. Disordered charges from non-Assault vehicles are the single good thing of this edition
>>96872775>>96873415>>96874134They're only buffs by technicality. Really, they're things that should have been that way from the start.>1) Special snowflake heavy flamer buffed to ap4.This was clearly a copy/paste oversight.>2) Inductii now get to benefit from the ld8 of the sergent, essecially giving the unit +1 ld.This isn't new either. Last edition their special Inductii also had a sergeant model who represented an OG legion veteran. They put the Inductii Master into the 3.0 version of the unit, but forgot to give him the Sergeant keyword.>3) Cassian now gets paired gravis fist for +1 attack on an already top tier unit.He has the same number of base attacks as a Contemptor, which also gets +1A for having paired gravis fists.
>>96874182you're right, this edition really has too many bad game design items at once. End of turn scoring is worse, and the stupid WS chart, and the godawful useless terrain rules, the stupid line/vanguard dancing, the fucking abysmal line-of-sight rules (your tank can see the toe of one guy 24" away with a 24" gun then place the template 35" away in the middle of a unit behind a building outside of the firing arc, etc.)
>>96874166>it's the #1 thing ruining the entire 3rd edition's game balanceHoly hyperbole batman. If you asked HH players about issues they have with 3.0, for 99% of them this wouldn't even be on their list.
>>96872894its for 40k retards who don't know what the fuck a dice looks like
>>96874216Using anything less than S9? It kinda is. There's scant few things lighter than a Predator, and unless it's got armourbane, S8 needs a 6 to do anything to AV13Good luck with 8" multimelta armourbane range
>>96874216for most units in the game, that is a true statement against AV14. You cannot argue that 10 krak missiles (specifically for anti-tank purposes) must have a 0% chance to even do very minor damage to a landraider. We wouldn't be able to hear you over the sound of GW's cock blocking your entire throat.
>>96873987Salllamanders are above the curve on a lot of things.Primarch, reaction, wargear, prime advantage, legion trait and spécial units: all of those are already top tier or at least high tier. Add those together and the legion screams rule favoritism.Sallies are the most powerfull legion. Reading their rule, TS could be a contender but I've never played them so I don't know.
>>96874273When doing return fire nothing should be effective. The fact that return fire is at full BS and with stationary bonus is fucking retard. That you motherfuckers are whining about an aspect of return fire not being strong enough shows that you're nothing more than inbred keyboard warrior nogames.
>>96874288Well you haven't played against Salamanders either because you're painfully obviously a nogames lmfao.
>>96874288>TS could be a contenderThe difference is TS need to lean heavily into covidae. Salis are far less one note.
>>96874291>stationary bonusThis is my biggest issue with return fire.Hell 2.0 return fire would have been far less abusive if lascannons where snapshoting
>>96874328Return fire should have been snap shots always from the start, period. The higher amount of LOS blocking and reduced access to reactions of 3.0 has reigned it in a lot, but return fire is still just stupid.
>>96874139Triaros have 10" move exactly, although you have to get out of the side ports and the damn thing is so long that you're a surprising way back because of it. Still a pretty decent transport, hoping the 30k Skitarii are solid so we can have good blocks of infantry to put in them for less than the cost of a Myrmidon squad that size. I need to try throwing 16 Scyllax and an Arcuitor out of one and just rushing, since you can still cast cybertheurgy before a disordered charge.>>96874149Tempted to do so with my DG allies, although in their case I think giving them the termite assault duties might be more sensible. How blasphemous would it be to play Alone and Forgotten but ally in a centurion or mortifactor with some legion rules so you can run a couple dreads alongside the HQ wave? Not necessarily because of balance but because dreadnoughts are characters too.
>>96876782I am personally kind of hoping the journals add generic Venerable Dreadnought characters that don't go into the War Engine slot for this exact purpose.
>>96876817What we need are prime dreadnoughts and some prime bonuses that actually work for them.

>>96876827>blade of the justI'm really thinking about xenos taint.A centurion with a halo blade and melta bombs is exactly 100 points. With the various bonuses you can go absolutely bonkers on some dudes. Like a paragon of battle can be walking around at WS6, S7, I6, A5 with AP2.But a dude wants to play with his robots too
Might as well post Gonk while I'm at it.
>>96876851>m really thinking about xenos taintAnother 40k coomer...
>>96876894Hey now, there's plenty of xenos taint to go around in 30k. Hell, if anything this is the most canonically accurate period for Eldar poon: craftworlders aren't murder fucking anymore but haven't gotten the paths yet so they're not massive tightwads either.
>>96876851Feels rough not to take +1W on the line centurions, makes you a little more proof to fumbling a couple of saves, but yeah, they're monsters. Jetpacks all round, have random chumps with Praetor statlines or Paragons doing even better than that.I should probably consider +1I more, at least on the hammer boys, but I'm basically operating on the assumption that if one of my centurions hits melee I'll be satisfied with them exploding into victory points.
i picked up the HH books starting at the Solar War, through the End and the death 3. And i just came across a bunch of the older books and so i'm starting there. Horus Rising, seeing loken and the the dudes in the mornivale before they get all chaosy and pissy was neat. Was it always eberus though?
>>96873987NTA, but out of curiosity : if you don't consider sallies top tier this edition, which ones would it be ?
>>96876822I want those too. Among all the other dreadnought nerfs that were deserved, the logistics for running them in 3.0 are also kinda fucked.
>>96877221Minor spoilers but the Word Bearers got corrupted like 50 years before the events of Horus Rising so pretty much yes
>>96877223Don't think anon meant to say Salamanders aren't top tier, just that they aren't as outrageously above the other legions as a lot of nogames people on /hhg/ make them out to be. They certainly are nowhere near the level of IF and DA were in 2.0, or TS in 1.0
>>96877293like i said, i skipped everything before the solar war and the siege of terra, is it in any of the early books why and what they did, or is it just mentioned like samus till the end and the death 3 why it's always loken dealing with him.

Anons I'm sick of needing to go to an LGS to play 30k. Would it be feasible to get a tables worth of terrain for around 200 usd? If so, where to get it? Kickstarter? Etsy? I'm not really a fan of MDF stuff (though the Bandua sets aren't bad). The LGS nearest to me only has the smelliest ogres possible as customers and it actively detracts from my enjoyment of the game.
>>96877685Why not get an FDM printer for that?
>>96877685Instead of LGSs, find a nearby time cafe aimed at normie boardgames, make friends with them, ask them to get some terrain. It's ridiculous how different the clientele is. LGSs are full of unwashed obese degenerate ponylovers, time cafes are usually full of normies to the point where I'm going to one for a Halloween party later tonight. And there will be women who will not look disgusted and horrified by the rest of the public.
>>96877675Basically you get to decide to simply not roll for your charge.
>>96877675Maybe you should try reading the rules. Start with the Firestorm special rule.
>>96877685If you don't mind doing a little work, you can create your own terrain for dirt cheap using leftover cardboard, texture paint, ice sticks, random bits of wire you got laying around, you name it. Get some cheap spraycans and you can get like over three tables of terrain painted in half a day.
>>96877697>>96877698Oh, that's where that rule is! Thanks, guys, I didn't know it was hidden within the Firestorm rule.
>>96877693I wouldn't really have a use for it beyond printing the one terrain set, though I guess I could start printing firearms or the like.>>96877695I'll see if I can do that, there's a few decent boardgame cafés around but non of them have tables big enough for 30k iirc. Funny you mention women because one of the key reasons I want to be freed of relying on LGS is that I'm teaching my wife to play and she felt uncomfortable being stared at like she had three heads. A fatass magic player even came up to us midgame to ask if we were together and if she wanted to learn how to play magic. It's crazy how real the stereotypes Round autistic neckbeards are.
>>96877462Do WS mount them on their belts sideways?
>>96877709That sounds doable, do you have any reference pics? I heard that GW used to make guides for DIY terrain, do you know where one might find them?I appreciate the advice anon :)
>>96877715A bud of mine actually runs that time cafe I'm going to. And yes, he and his wife had a LOT of the same experiences like you're describing, hence them being open to wargames in their space too. I even brought all the terrain I had lying around to their cafe just for that. And usually boardgame cafes have enough table space to accommodate 10-12 people groups, so it really shouldn't be a problem. Talk to them, they are usually open to moving two tables together or something. Also the closest parcel delivery point to my house is located in the LGS and I can see women brace before they go in there.God, I hate LGSs so much.
>>96877724Must still have some of those guides saved in a backup hard drive somewhere, but no idea which one. It should be very straight forward to figure out yourself though, even with only a little practical insight and creativity.>Cut cardboard into ruined walls shapes>Attach together and cover sides with painters tape>Cut rocks and hills out of Styrofoam>Throw on bits to taste>Lather it all in texture paintJust give it a try, there's not really a wrong way of doing it, it's the end result that counts.
>>96877715>I wouldn't really have a use for it beyond printing the one terrain set, though I guess I could start printing firearms or the like. You never know, might get some use out of one for miscellaneous doohickeys, stylized objective markers that blend in with the terrain better, bases, and vehicles or titans, to an extent. Maybe some other weird hobby-related, overengineered solutions that are not worth buying directly.>>96877724NTA but here.https://files.catbox.moe/oo3gsl.pdf

Speaking of FoS, there's some curious fluff at the end of the War of Bitter Iron.>THE SATURNINE DISTORTION>Having bloodied themselves against the Loyalists for the first time, the Phraetus Anointed would grow in prominence among the armies of Colchis in the months and years to follow, their number and tally of victories multiplying in equal measure. Where the Chapter of the Dark Heart's veteran Terminators served as the elite of the Traitor hosts defending the Colchisian Satrapy, the Phraetus were an elite among even these, and where they were fielded, Loyalist onslaughts transformed into crushing defeats or bitter stalemates. In time, their deployment to a specific warzone would form part of an ever bloodier escalation that would eventually culminate in the invocation of profane rituals and the unleashing of technological horrors of calamitous potency, obliterating armies and shattering worlds.>Of their opposites, the Iron Hands who descended upon Milhand are known to have recovered the broken remains of the handful of Phraetus Anointed felled during the conflict, seemingly unfazed by the heinous practices employed in their fabrication. These were then transported to the archive-vaults of Syban, which had become a local repository of archaeotech, psyarkana and profane artefacts for the Iron Hands' campaign, before the damaged suits disappeared from all known records. In less than a year, distorted Saturnine elements would appear among the Medusans' ranks in turn, the infamous ‘Helwrought’, whose unfathomable resilience was only matched by the array of archaeotech weaponry they brought to bear. Some hypothesise that these nigh-undying juggernauts were one of many secret weapons hoarded by the Xᵗʰ Legion within the Vaults of Mimir long before the Horus Heresy, for few indeed would openly speculate that one of the Emperor's loyal Legions might have turned the accursed makings of the Phraetus to their own ends.So IH likely deployed daemon tech.
>>96876653For all of them. They're power source is disc shaped. The pistols it's just more obvious.
>>96878032It's okay when loyalists do it.
>>96877966here
>>96878032>HelwroughtWell it might have been fucking nice to get rules for the Saturnine units being referred to by name in the book that sells itself as the Saturnine rules expansion.
>still no faq in if stable flyers ignore the snapshot penalty on certain flight missionsWording implies some flyers have a way around this and the only thing that actually does anything is the stable flyer rule because it's a more specific rule. Though unclear if that's intentional.

>>96876468The range difference on banestrikes feels significant. Plus theyre only breaching 6+ right?Plus seekers have their potential for status utility on top of it all. I wouldnt say seekers are some massively oppressive unit, but theyre excellent in their role. At 30" you can safely trade fire with many units, at 18" thats less true, and headhunters are not very durable. They do do slightly more damage vs power armor, but that comes at the cost of having to be exposed to do it. Headhunters feel more like suicide melta troops still, while seekers can do that similar job at range and then provide CC as needed.
