Did Riftbound win

Riftbound boxes currently selling (not just listed) at $230/ea on Tcgplayer. Kai'sa - survivor (most expensive epic card) down to $55, from peak of $75 yesterday. Selling the box I pre-ordered is becoming more tempting - I could literally buy a full meta deck for less than $200.

There was a second print run that was supposed to make it to stores by launch but unclear if it actually did - prices for singles could slowly creep up until January given that. Some games (like Lorcana) never printed quite enough set 1 product to meet demand.

The game was originally going to be china only and use a lot of splash art from the main game and runeterra. Basically whatever they had the rights to. When they decided to do a english release lots of fans complained about the art being reused so they've been focusing more on original art for cards going forward. For set 1 it's honestly not that bad. We'll have to see what the set 2 cards look like to see how committed they are for original art.

If you only care about playing, there are very few expensive cards (Barbatos LR, Psycho, maybe Epyon) in the new box that are worth it. The other good ones (new Rick Dias, Argama, et al.) you can get on tcgplayer/cardtrader for very cheap.

Fun game and a surprising amount of people for a starter deck event.

LGS is Commander + FAB. I think that my LGS is active solely based on who runs the events as the owner lets the employees / individuals run the events instead of the owners. Probably doesn't help that we only seat 16 and we don't really advertise. We have some minor games that will periodically pull in 3-5 people (Vanguard + Pokemon) but that's it. Jinx is the worst. Lee can actually fight Viktor and is probably better out of the box, but doesn't have as much potential to be "high tier" like Viktor.
Lee also has access to the broken battlefiled that give him free draw by expending a buff, as the other two decks don't use buffs.

i know a few years ago someone here was working on a yugioh cube, but that was such a pet project that i don't imagine that ygo could give a shit.

tried out SWU tonight with a friend, was a lot of fun. He had me try a few games with a precon and I bought a copy after- quick to learn, appears there's a lot of depth. I've never done an alternating-activations card game before so it's a lot to get used to, and a lot of the instinct of "my turn your turn" gameplay goes out the window.

Wish I gave more of a shit about star wars in general, but the game is fun.

You obviously have to shuffle the deck before the game starts. The whole point is that there are no effects mid-game that facilitate deck-stacking or sleight of hand tricks to easily manipulate resources. The more shuffles, the more points in play where someone can easily cheat. One shuffle is pretty easy to catch someone on if you're watching them like a hawk.

I like that it allows you do write "the first time I see ..." on cards, and have them work on the second/third instance of an effect (because the card came into play after the first one), though nip games have that solved with tags like [auto][once/turn], etc.
