Battlefleet Gothic editionPrevious thread:>>96850764Battlefleet Gothic, Blood Bowl, Epic, Kill Team, Man-o-War, Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game, Mordheim,Necromunda, Shadow War: Armageddon, Titanicus, Underworlds, Warcry, Warhammer Quest, Warmaster......and any other GW system and board game are welcome.Helpful resources: (feel free to suggest additions!)https://pastebin.com/qq9N8V0V>TQAre there any /gwsg/-related projects you hope to finish before the year is out?
First for new thing bad.
I'm trying to cope on more BB Chaos Dwarf nerfs but all I can come up with is:>Break Tackle is a good pick on bull centaurs again, gives them 2+ for first dodge>Stabbas are probably still kinda crap but 60k at least prices them reasonably and Shadowing looks like it'll be goodMeanwhile:>lol secondary G access for Hobs>lol Unsteady for centaurs so you still have to risk several turns of fumbles to centaur carry until Sure hands is online>lol no Brawlin' Brutes for you, enjoy your slow development while Orcs, Dwarves, and others race ahead of you
>>96884855>TQI just got some midhammer plastics to make Mordheim warbands, I want to have at least the core painted before the year ends.
>TQWorking on a full Imperial Nobility team, I should definitely have it finished before the end of the year.
I think I'm gonna pull the trigger and buy Catacombs. It's got 2 warbands I like and 2/3 of the terrain I like. I can always get the head statue and another set of the building sprue on ebay
>>96884855I managed to snag a House Delaque starter box for extremely cheap as part of a clearance sale. Never played Necromunda before, only experience with skirmish games is some Kill Team here and there, which sadly wasn't narrative-heavy.What do I do now? Am I supposed to magnetize the arms and heads? Does an end-of-campaign gang necessitate me buying even more boxes of basic gangers? I'd rather splurge on terrain-crafting stuff than more boxes of models I already own.
>TQseveral MESBG minis>Saruman on horse>Aragorn, Boromir, Gorbag, Shagrat metal minis>12 Galahdrim elves>repair and paint broken Uruk-hai scouts and Mordor orcs I got on ebay
>TQI gotta paint my blood bowl team. First time ever assembling and priming and soon painting minis. I'm a little nervous, but so far everything has been much easier than anticipated and easy to not fuck up, though removing mould lines and sprue nubs fucking sucks
>>96885684Delaque gang box gave you the bodies and some pistols for Juves but you don't get the high end stuffs for champs or basic weapons to fill the rank. The Delaque weapon upgrade gave you a bunch of nice delaque-pattern basic as well as the ol-reliable plasma weaponry and web gun for your champs to make a decent gang. After that you want 1 box of Delaque Natch-Ghul for a complete roster. You can play Delaque without the Natch-Ghul, but it's the equivalent of playing Ratling without the Ogryn in Killteam.>magnetize It's a waste of time + effort and it made your models ugly. Fighters should be fitted into "character" ( gunner , Close combat, cowboy with 2 pistols etc) and stay that way, and built with all weapons glued too. Having multiple loadouts RAW is a terrible idea because loadouts are also randomized during deployment. You can houserule that to your own perils. In case you need to build characters that switch their main weapons mid-campaign, just build another model for that. Gang box + natch-ghul give you 14 bodies, which meant you have 1 or 2 extra bodies to make extra loadout for models. If you need more get another gang box.Delaque also make use of the Whisper Merchant regularly, so you might want to make a model for him from the extra Delaque body. Or buy from GW, or somewhere else.
what star players should I get with the third edition box? not to play with the new teams but to have for a league me and my bros play
>>96885897> Having multiple loadouts RAW is a terrible idea because loadouts are also randomized during deployment. While having multiple weapon loadouts is a bad idea, there are multiple campaigns where the amount of even random and hybrid selections are limited to a couple scenarios. If you are playing larger campaigns where people get to higher gang ratings, you want to have loadouts to counter specific gangs (i.e. hazard suits, respirators/goggles for AW events/visibility) and you don't want all of them to bloat your crew rating every single battle, possibly giving your opponent the 400c limit to hire extra underdog models.
>>96886003What teams are you planning on using? If Brets, 1000% get Griff Oberwald as he is stupid good.
>>96885684Only the extremely cucked play Necromunda with full WYSIWYG. If your only-available gaming group does that, it should be your mission to usurp power and liberate them from the bootlickers leading them.It is also only cucks who play with the Tools of the Trade rule (instead of allowing equipment to move freely as in old Necromunda). However, some of these second groups of cucks can be excused simply for not knowing any better, since they had no experience with old Necromunda and never knew an alternative to Newcromunda (which is a great system, but botched the weapon rules).
>>96884855>TQWant to finish the few leftover minis from hive secundus but since I haven't gotten a game in for like months there's little motivation.
>>96886673Just neck yourself, there is nothing less interesting than a campaign of N23 with absolutely free weapon movement. All it does is make things like recovery a non-issue, as gangs keep a sufficient minimum backup of low rating fighters that can be fitted with the mid-cost high-value weapons like bolters, executioner shotguns, combat shotguns, and plasma pistols from anyone in recovery. This leads to less interesting gameplay and a boring upgrade system where fighters kit themselves with these incremental upgrades, and makes the gameplay a worse experience. Or maybe it makes it better for your group if you are those cucks that like playing with 2+ saves on everyone with mesh+suit+overlay on every fighter of any note.If you want to freely move weapons around you need another system for the trading post. That's not a problem if you want to write one, but the game is not made better by allowing free swaps. At least if you play more than one campaign a year.
My third party Yhetee from years ago. Still love this fuzzy fellow. Good to use on my ogre team.
>>96884855> TQI have a Warmaster event in February and want to refresh my old Norse army with some new models. I've been having some trouble sourcing models but finally have a solution and I'm excited to test it.I'm also interested in picking up some Punga models for a Kislev-themed Imperial Nobility team. However the Warmaster is the priority and the sheer cost of the team is fairly off-putting. If any anons have experienced buying physical Punga models from them directly (and not just the prints from an online seller) I'd be keen to hear how it went.
>>96885897>You can play Delaque without the Natch-Ghul, but it's the equivalent of playing Ratling without the Ogryn in Killteam.I've read this same sentiment before but it still sucks to hear. I'd ideally want to specialize in psychic bullshit, use the worms, etc. But thanks for the long write-up, I'll take all of it into account.>>96886072So loadouts usually aren't randomized? I know Necromunda has hundreds of scenarios. It's likely me and the few people I play with would opt for a more narratively driven campaign in the vein of old tree-structure campaigns anyhow, unless that would be a poor fit for for some reason. >>96886673My "gaming group" is really just me, a friend of mine, and a couple of people that only have a couple of sets of models and aren't really into the hobby like I am, so my word is law.
Bros i bought 3rd ed of blood bowl box and i want to gift my 4 friends with some teamsso we can get some games when we meet at the weekends. Can u tell me which ones are fun to play?
>>96886845Not that anon but the rules I proposed to my group was that a Fighter can swap out weapons so long as they are buying a replacement or better. I.e. A Fighter can replace a weapon for another of the same class, or of a different class that costs more than what is being replaced. They can sell the weapon towards purchasing a new one under the same criteria. Weapons only go back into the stash if it is a weapon that is available from the TP. They can give their old weapon to another Fighter as part of this replacement/upgrade so long as it is something the one receiving it could equip/is available on their equipment list. Exchanges between Fighters can only be done so long as neither Fighter is in Recovery. So this prevents simple weapon swaps to game around Recovery, and still allows a Fighter's progression without being stuck with old weapons whilst keeping to the spirit of what Tools of the Trade should be doing.
>>96887906NorseShambling UndeadElf UnionChaos ChosenAll are reasonably beginner friendly.
My brother and I are going to play the old version of Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game, the one with The One Ring rulebook. One slight hiccup, I can't find the difference between an Armoured Horse and a Normal Horse. Any help would be appreciated.
>>96887977>Elf UnionAnon... EU is dead, Woodies unironically are an easier team now
>>96886845You wrote all of that instead of just taking for granted the obvious house rule, "can't swap equipment when in recovery."Hate to see it.
>>96887131I like him :D
>>96887977NTA but I also wondered the same thing, excellent
>>96884855>TQ new gang for my next Necromunda campaign which will be next year. Also finishing touches for a few Warcry Warbands.>>96885684Build what you want, you can buy new models if you need extra gangers. IF guys upgrade, just let the others know when you play. No one expects you to remodel every mini. >>96887923That's how we play, they can only move it on if they upgrade Played a Warcry event today and had fun. Went 3-1
>>96884855>"A Skaven team can now take two Gutter Runners"FUCKI just finished these ;_;
>>96889392Thank you!
>>96888459>EU>deadAs someone who used 2 catchers with EU in tournament and matches, I guarantee you they are fine. Fummblrooskie will make linemen a viable target to throw at and near impossible to contain them.Wood Elves are still broken amazing but wardancers still go splat gud!>>96889396No worries.>>96889840Nothing personal to you but facing 4 gutter runners against a semi competent coach was near unwinnable.
>>96889871>Nothing personal to you but facing 4 gutter runners against a semi competent coach was near unwinnable.idgaf, I wanted to convert some rats
Ready for season 4
>>96887977thanks fren
>>96888121IIRC a normal horse is D4, an armoured one D5, which makes quite a difference against crossbows (S4) and most bows (S2), going from a 4+ to 5+ and 5+ to 6+ to wound, respectively.>>96884855I'd like to finish some warbands of musical skellingtons, Marienburg elves, Nagarythe elves, and conan-esque chaos marauders for a variety of skirmish systems.
>>96889840You can play a third one as Skitter. You can use the fourth one in an Underworld team.
>>96884887I honestly just ask people if I play the old style of chaos dwarves instead. Six dwarf blockers and cheap linemen. They keep nerfing them and it feels intentional at this point.
>>96887906Do you want easy or hard fun teams? Easy is probably norse, necromantic, undead, khemri, and orcs. Lizardmen are also probably pretty easy to run too.Hard fun teams would probably be snotlings, khorne, ogres, halflings.
>>96889702I personally like building models into classes of weapons.Shotgun, heavy, las, rapid, etcMostly because some times the model is cool, but the weapon is so ass that you are better off not giving the model a weapon. Like for example the storm welder, love how the gun looks, but no way in hell I'm actually using it in game, paying to increase my chances of killing my own model is not fun. Because is not even plasma gun fun when you can at least kill the enemy and your guy in a funny explosion.
>>96890631Squat can use Storm Welder if they pick the skill that remove unstable.
>>96890678Yes, you can break necromunda pretty easily what is your point?
>>96890685It's still a meme to use, just not useless anymore, did you even look at the rule before posting?
>>96890703I repeat the question. What's your point? Breaking necromunda is easy as fuck, you can even do it by accident. Is like the Ceramite Shield and hip shooting. First one turns move into basic while the second give you a double action that negates the drawback of the shield.Just because you can break the shit out of the game does not mean some weapons are not ass. Specially if you need to start adding secondary things to make them work.
>>96890721You wrote a whole ass paragraph about nothing instead of just read the damn rule. There're nothing broken about taking a skill just to use an overpriced weapon that isn't even good, on a champ with mediocre BS.You complained not being able to use "cool weapon", i pointed out that the squat can use it now for all your meme purpose. And you went on a tirade about "muh brooooken" ???????
>>96890740>discussing with anon is him pretending not to understand
>>96890241>an armoured one D5Neat, thanks anon
>>96890678>SquatIf you bring squats to the munda game, I'm bringing necrons.
Picked up the Uruk-Hai Ugluk and Vrasku for only £19. Scalpers get rekt
>>96892635So you bought two minis for the same price that I produce over 50 for? Wow, congratu-fucking-lations mr.whale.
>>96892647Your post is so retarded that I cringed so hard my balls moved.
>>96892702Riiiight, just keep coping about the inflated price of your plastic toys.
>>968926473 print fags when someone does anything else xd
>>96892731>copingKeep telling yourself that printfag
Does anyone have a PDF for the new MESBG Hobbit book? Or just a scan or good picture of the "Three Trolls" army list (Tom, Bill and Bert). They are the only army I am interested in playing in that book and I don't want to buy the whole book for one page....
>>96892762my entire last year of miniatures cost less than your 2, so you seething about me pointing out that you were basically robbed is cope by definition, you have to jump through mental hoops to make yourself believe you got a "deal" in the face of the fact that miniatures are now worth about $0.10-$1/each
>>96892647>Comes into a GW thread>Bitches when someone buys GW miniatures for use in a GW game
>>96892791Literally jehovas witness of the hobby
>>96892787It might be in herehttps://gofile.io/d/SgFc9q>>96892791You're still going?
>>96892793This isn't a GW thread sweaty, this is a community thread. GW owns some pieces of paper saying they have the rights to the games we play, but none of these games would still exist in any form if we, the community, hadn't made them playable and popular of our own efforts.
>>96892814>This isn't a GW thread sweaty>/GWSG/ Games Workshop Specialist Games General
>>96892802That would be the paypig shills who want you to sell your soul to join the corpo cult.
>>96892821I can see how that would confuse a GW employee.
>>96892822Them too. But in this thread we have a dude happy he bought something cheaper, and a 3d print fag screaming at him that he is inferior and projecting other posters to be GW shills. Only one side of the spectrum of retardation is here.
>>96892867No, we've got an anon bragging about scoring a "deal" and another anon simply pointing out that the "deal" is fucking highway robbery by the current standard of value. It's like the addict who says "I can quit anytime"
>>96892885Incorrect. 20 dolar, euro or whatever the fuck anon bought it for, is a deal for the OG model. response of:>>So you bought two minis for the same price that I produce over 50 for? Wow, congratu-fucking-lations mr.whale.is a printfag preaching his religion. Saying "buy a 300 dolar printer and learn to print+ model + pay for stls/pirate them" is not a genuine approach, for not everybody can afford it, wants to do it and so on. If you want to go into "current standards of value" unless you are making engineering projects with your printer you are disingenuous as fuck.
>>96892885>another anonWhy are you talking about yourself in the third person? We all know you're the guy sperging out about printing
>>96892913>learn to print+ model + pay for stls/pirate them"Oh wow, an enormous task that takes all of an hour or two!
>>96892939>We all know>WeAnd I know that the only "we" here is you and the gerbil up your ass.
>>96892945I now see that i have been too genuine and honest in responding to you, allow me to fix it. >Oh wow, an enormous task that takes all of an hour or two!Oh Wow, not my fucking hobby!
>>96892971I know, your hobby is shilling for GW
Anyone ever paint Blood Bowl teams like real life sportball teams?
>>96892791Counterpoint, some people that aren't poor, insecure, and mentally ill do not struggle and fret over whether the price of their minis is "worth it." They have long ago determined that they are. You're that indian from the 3D printing thread who was poisoning their dogs via resin proximity, aren't you?
>>96893856>delusions that all anons on all threads are one anonAre you that jew janny leaked during the sharty attack?
>>96893785I'd mock you, but mother always said to have pity on the mentally deficient. Have a good one mate.
anyone come across scans of the s3 book?
>>96894167Your mother said that to make you feel better about being retarded, retard.
>>96892806You're a legend, thank you!
khorne team looks fine but the special characters are ugly as hell. Can I take the Minotaur by chance instead?
>buying models>printing modelsFags. If you're doing anything but drawing with homemade charcoal on handmade paper to make tokens, you're a corporate cuck. And don't even get me started on the evils of new editions of games. You pirate the first edition of something and that's IT. We know all games are born with SOVL and are destroyed by time. Blood Bowl plays to 3 no matter how long it takes, there's no such thing as a turnover, and I don't even know what a "block die" is, we roll to hit, wound, and save, because that's the oldest thing which is the best thing!
>>96894993>first editionAbsolutely cucked. If you're not making a homebrew loosely based on the designers playtest document, you aren't a real wargamer.
>he actually resorts to playing a tangible game in physical reality presumably with other real peoplei haven't had to leave my mind palace for a game in decades, you casuals sicken me
I'm dead.
>>96894422No but just say the minotaur IS a blood spawn. I doubt anyone would be mad. Personally I'm thinking of proxying the bloodspawn with greebo minis' King of the Pit (looks like a bloodthirster)>>96894285The preorders launched little under two days ago if even that, wait a week or two and someone's bound to have it then
>>96893830Not yet. What team would look good in sharkies colours?
>>96896573Norse maybe? Khorne would be funny. Thinking of painting my undead team like the Home uniform for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vampire coast yknow) and the new box set teams like the Miami Dolphins (Brets) and UM Hurricanes (TKs). I think it could be neat
I'm making some custom star player cards for both old age stars and ones me and my friends have come up with for our league for the new edition, would it be too much to include a back side with facts and backstory like actual sportsman cards do?pic related
I was recently gifted a copy of the Blood Bowl 2nd ed box from 1988.I've never played BB before, can I use the teams in this box to play modern games? I'm not sure if I need to have different models for different field roles, the models in the box only have a single sculpt for each team.
>>96896988Technically yes.Orcs and Humans are included. You can definitely play with them.To have access to every possible player to hire for your team you would also want to find an Ogre and a Troll and 3 halflings and 3 goblins.I believe the scale of any new model and the old models will be way off so I'd say try and grab some classic style models to match up and you'd have a sick retro team. You can also grab a 3rd party team 3D printed or whatever for very cheap. Something like 40usd.
>>96884855>TQWon't be back home to work on minis until December but I'm probably going to kitbash a Death Guard sorcerer to finally give the newest version of Kill Team a go, and perhaps bang out a warlock and a few more henchmen for my Reikland Mordheim warband.
Considering diving into BB. I tried before, but then the coof happened and that was that for the local area. Not sure what has or hasn't been leaked and the only discussion I've seen is Goonhammer, but how do Shambling Undead, Chaos Chosen or plain old Orcs sound?
>>96897996They are all good starting teams, Chaos might be a bit harder to start with but Undead and Orcs are both teams I would reccomend to a new player
>>96898099What makes the Chosen team harder?
>>96896988>I'm not sure if I need to have different models for different field roles, the models in the box only have a single sculpt for each team.Just paint numbers on them, like Nuffle intended. Or get some number decals.
>>96898183chaos doesn't start with key positionals bearing skills that provide you with rerolls, instead giving you a team of basic beastmen and chaos warriors that are better at killing opponents than actually playing the game with the intention being that you develop them individually through a league into whatever positional you want them to be
>>96898183Chaos Chosen start with better stats but not the key starting skills that other blockers have, the idea is that in a league they have a worse start but a better finish than other players because it's easier for a player to get a skill than a stat upThe rough start without the safety net of Block might be hard for a new player
>>96892814Imagine being this retarded...
>>96894414Happy to help anon
>>96897996They are all solid bash teams. Orcs and Undead have historically been considered top-tier but the recent roster changes have turned the game upside down so its hard to say where they will be now.Undead have specialists; your runners are really good at running, your linemen are really good at holding a line, and your big guys have no negative traits. The loss of 2 ghouls in 3E is significant though.Orcs are a simple bash team. Lots of Strength, high armour, still have a reasonable scoring threat. However the team has changed drastically with the loss of positionals. Chaos starts weak but grows into a threat later. Expensive rerolls and a lack of inherent skills means a slow start but their naturally high stats and generous skill access means they have a higher ceiling in leagues.
>>96898454Chaos Warriors do somewhat randomly start with Arm-Bar now. Which is interesting?
>>96900668Honestly I'd just give the Warriors Block. Why pretend they aren't going to take it as their first skill literally every single time?
>>96901281Because they still want you to do that as a tax. Arm-Bar does open up a couple of interesting build directions though that you'd never do unless they handed it to you like this. Prehensile Tail combined with Arm-Bar makes for a pretty nasty combination that doesn't require you to overinvest in it. A brief detour before taking Guard or Mighty Blow or somewhere in between. The fact that it can earn you SPP's as well also helps. Although why of all teams Chaos don't get the rule inverting SPP values for Casualties vs TouchDowns I can't imagine.
>>96902178Because they really don't have trouble handing warriors touchdown SPP, since they're all AG3+, and don't even have Unsteady so they can secure the ball if they need to before walking it in.
>>96902256Fair. Personally, I'm still thinking on the possibilities and the ideal vector for the new Monstrous Mouth ability. Essentially you don't need it on something that's Str4 or above for various reasons, but not least that Tentacles works better there most of the time.
