>>96913609This mini is too precious.
>>96913609That really is a well done miniOne day one of my minis will make it into the OP (other than johnny).
>>96913609KYUUUUUUT
>>96913609Need a pixar movie about this tiny fairy girl fighting against corporations deforesting the woods she lives in.
>>96913686I have no idea what is the standard to end up in opI saw so many extremely well done minis but its always some gimmicky one that ends up in there
>>96913725I don't think there is any. Sometimes I make new threads when Johnny anon isn't here and I just scroll down the thread and pick the first thing that catches my eye.
>>96913686>tfw made the banner like 4 times
Calling her finished. On to the next one.
>>96913722not thicc enough
>>96913725it's just whatever bakeranon decides to put there, if you bake yourself you can choose
>>96913725I don't normally make the threads (and didn't make this one) but I don't think there is any hard criteria, just pick a random notable mini. It can even be for goofy reasons.
>>96913754good for you
>>96913548very true, but still fun to paint and play.
Painted an assassin, the NMM isn't anything amazing, but I'm happy with how the cloak turned out
Lunch break lfgs hauli FUCKED UP my airbrush last night It was a cheap amazon starter brush i've had for 4 years so i'm not too torn up about itNow i'll be priming in style
>>96913725point is to have a good time and not make it into ethernet penis measuring contest, sure a memorable sperg here and there every now and then spices things up a little and thats a good thing
>>96913725Because otherwise its always going to be some tsanon or btanon or blanon marine and marines are fucking boring.
>>96913958>i FUCKED UP my airbrush last nighthow?
>>96913958Give that bitch a 0.3 tip and you can do a whole lot more than prime, anon
>>96913998funnily enough I like my lizards more than my tsons but they never made the banner
I believe you can paint Bretonnia any colour, as long as you're consistent
>>96914058
>>96913722FernGully... sort of.
>>96914247Yes that is what I was thinking of. Crysta was a babe.

Army painter paints good?
>>96914014i bet on either accidentally bending the tip while cleaning or stripping threading on nozzle.
>>96914639Still the worst paints out there but not by a significant margin anymore.
>>96914639It's not bad. There are some issues (most of the range is quite de-saturated, the paint is a lot thicker than other brands, and a lot of them gets btfo silly fast with oils), but if they are the only paints you can get, you can do good stuff with them. Otherwise, AK does everything better and usually comes for about the same price, so if that's available, get AK instead. That said, don't just go for one brand, pick up specific paints you'll be using. >>96914663This.
>>96914663>>96914665I see. Is this chart still up to date or is there a bette one somewhere?https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint_Range_Compatibility_Chart
>>96914738Don't use this chart, it's garbage (just like all similar web charts). Use stahly's tool, it's in /wip/ mega: https://mega.nz/folder/TvQFCaLb#w8WZKCcOsTRasxrI0JWezw/folder/Lr5nGC4S
>>96914665>the paint is a lot thicker than other brandsNot really with the "new" fanatics paints. The old ones are no longer sold i believe.
>>96914781The new ones are still lot thicker than other brands. I own ~50 AP (exclusively fanatic range) paints, lot more AK paints, and fair bit of Citadel/PA paints, too.
>>96913066Thanks! I don't really have any specific tips, as I'm learning the process a bit myself. My process was to airbrush the base coat with everything and set the minor color modulation. Then I dry brushed everything with a subtly brighter color for the edges, then manually edge highlighted with the brightest color. Then finally hit the edges with a torn up natural sponge for metal and black chipping (still in the middle of this). I would recommend dense sponges like makeup sponges for setting paint on panels if you need to paint anymore after airbrushing or using masking. But for hard to reach places like the inset panel on these kind of 40k tanks you just gotta paint it manually for best results I think. 6 to 8 or more milky thin coats of paint steadily layered on it will look good, just takes a while. >>96914639I use their metallic air paints. For both airbrush and hand brush, I think they're good. I don't prefer any of their regular pigments or speedpaints though they aren't worthless. I wouldn't recommend a whole range of them just test some as substitute workhorses for your needed colors.
>>96914921>GW paints in droppersvery based
>>96914944Definitely stockholmed with them a bit. I can't stand those pots but I just can't find a good substitute for a lot of their hues and contrast paints. This is 40k piggy cope I acknowledge, kek
Question to anyone familiar with Japanese stuff - what are those round guards on legs, above rectangle ones? I mean, I'm not sure if these are supposed to be burnt red like rest of the armor or metallic steel/gold instead.
>>96915065no round things on her legs unless you count the toesbe more specific
>>96915065Do you mean this part under the flutes? It looks like an interpretation of sunaete pieces or armor that normally goes on the shins or forearms. Lookup sunaete or tateage for some example construction. It is vertical splints of metal usually wrapped in fabric, the metal can either be exposed or under the fabric giving it that ribbed clothes look.
What's the best way to get paints? I've been to a couple of hobby stores around me, but they don't have a large selection of paints or they clearly haven't restocked them in a while. The only stuff on amazon appears to be box sets of paints, unless you want to pay $10 for a bottle. Should I check out the local GW store?
>>96915204Order from the manufacturer.
>>96915204Personally, if I can't find what I need at LGS (I have pleasure of living in capital so have few) I order then online at various shops across the country. I find it quite odd that US (I assume that you are from US since you mentioned dollars) don't seem to have them.
>>96915156I was actually reffering to these, above "kusazuri" (I hope I got that right).>>96915185Ok, thanks.I really hoped for more relaxing painting experience but so many details can be overwhelming.
>>96915065>supposedThey're not supposed to be anything anon. Do what you wish.
>>96914663I disagree 2bh, at least when it comes to their metallics, AP and Darkstar are among my favourites for metals now
What super nintendo game should she be playing?

>>96914799They are definitely thicker which I love. Sick of the prethinned "airbrush ready" crap desu.
>>96915468There are no prethinned airbrush ready paints other than ones specifically branded for it, anon.
