Please answer my question >>96976044>>96976080>What mechanics/keywords do you wish they would print more of?Exalted.
>>96976080>TQCasualty. Unfortunately it only has two decent cards.
>>96976080Is there some sort of dumb or worthless cantrip or instant/sorcery that you can continuously play from the gy? Something like Squee the immortal but as a non permanent of any kind. I just want some sort of 1 mana spell I can play with every turn.
>>96976080>What mechanics/keywords do you wish they would print more of?Radiation
I got my Seizan deck built. Now time to test it out. I have no idea how it will do or what it needs. It's got high mana cost for sure.https://archidekt.com/decks/17401145/seizan_gain_and_pain
>>96976093> winconSorry sweaty you are looking for /cedhg/
>>96976101Stuff with Escape is probably the closest you can get.
>>96976132I mean I know escape and flashback and a plethora of abilities that let you play the spell again for alternative costs. But the only thing I'm looking for is a way to play the same non permanent every turn, ideally cheaper the better. I want something like I can use to abuse stuff like benders water skin.
>>96976147Whim of Volrath with Memory Crystal out? Stuff like this doesn't really exist because it would be so easy to abuse.
Is Kraven finally the commander Chevillechuds were dreaming of?
which guy for artifacts?
>>96976080I know who I'm building next guys.
I feel like an idiot for just now realizing this since she comes with Haunted One, but this could be a lot of fun with backgrounds.
>>96976178He can't keep getting away with it!!!
Who would work best for a monored flying men deck?>Grenzo+ Cheapest cost, can double as a goad commander in a pinch, red has awful flying men so he can lean into goblin tribal- His impulse is theft which makes things a little awkward>Rose+ Offers impulse and ramp in one, which doesn't need to be cracked right away- Max of three junks each turn so a super wide board doesn't translate to super card advantage, also this character is awful lorewise>Smellerbee+ Haste enabler, wheel-draw means actual cards in hand- Smellerbee (what a retarded name) needs to actually attack and he's just a 3/3>Duchess- Holy shit she sucks so bad
>>96976241>she
>>96976265I only play video games that are on the PS2, so I'm not familiar with the character. Is it actually a man or just a joke about the muscles and general lack of femininity?
>>96976273It’s canonically a tranny
>>96976275Sure she is.
>>96976101the only thing I can think about is constantly paying for the soulfire grand master ability
>>96976101if you have feather out, you can just recycle a buff spell every turn
>>96976275Oh, that's a shame. I play with some really performative people and if Abby's my commander I'll have to hear a bunch of shit about it being "empowering" and all those other buzzwords. I'll have to do some thinking to decide if the card is mechanically interesting enough to be worth that. I wonder if this is how UB haters feel when they see a card with a fun effect.
>>96976290He's memeing btw
>>96976287I made a feather deck cuz I just love the idea of using the same cantrip every turn for draws. I just don't have much of a game winner other than aria.
APPROVED UB:>Tarkir: Dragonstorm>Bloomburrow>FoundationsUNAPPROVED UB:>Aetherdrift>Edge of Eternities>Duskmourn
>>96976255Grenzo. If your only issue is using other people's cards then you have no issue.
>>96976319is stacking buff spells in your hand every turn and then just going all out with some sort of damage copying effect not good enough?
https://moxfield.com/decks/-qyjxOjzm0ObMsMHMqyp3gmy initial attempt, seems too light on ramp?
>>96976327umm.. define "UB"?
Someone played this with X=0 the other night and said it's some of the best mono-white draw available :\
>>96976525i don't believe you.

>>96976511UW but black
>>96976207Are you feeling white or black?
>>96976194I do kind of want to make Kraven. I wouldn't even include that guy in the 99> doesnt do the thing until your next upkeepYikes/cringe
>>96976217Whomst've?
>>96976080>TQBlitz, Casualty, Connive
>>96976589Holy based
>>96976207I love medicant core cuz he's cheap and you can pump him out early to get the speed count going in the beginning. Later on you can copy big stuff with just a minimum set up.
>>96976101I like this one
>>96976611Huh that's not bad
>>96976611Hey so you just pitch a land for extra cost AND it DOESN'T exile after use? So you can do this as long as you have land to pitch? That's pretty cool.
>>96976327The fact we have had exactly one real fantasy magic set in the last full calendar year is insane. What the fuck happened to this game?
>>96976616retrace is a fun mechanic. This is my favourite one. Bonus points because it's a sorcery that does literally nothing when it resolves.
>>96976550It was a game of PreDH :^)
>>96976255Smellerbee is a girl.
>>96976080>TQMeld. It's such a dumb inconsistent mechanic in a 100 card singleton format but it's cool trying to fuse the pieces and flipping to one big oversized card. Think it would be cool to see how they'd revisit and explore the idea more.
>>96976735I once melded mishra and it immediately aggroed the entire table. Mishra was the only threat i had on board but i guess the fact i pulled off a meld offended the sweatier cedh dropouts because they then focused me out of the game the next 2 turn rotation.
>>96976630Never thought about that this is an empty sorcery with just a cast trigger
I thought maybe this printing was cheap or something when I bought it for a dollar but it's actually more expensive than the urza destiny's version? guess I got a great deal
>>96976630Oh damn I need this in my Erinis deck.
>>96976749>cedh dropouts >can't handle a creature with no protection I think the dropout here is you
>>96976749>make a super strong, aggressive threat>people kill it/you>HURRR CEDH DROPOUTSyou're a faggot.
>>96976794>super strong, aggressive threatJust because there is a lot of text on his fusion monster doesn't make it good
>>96976786>>96976794man you always respond fast with the same kinda strawmans.feels like a nerve got touched.
>>96976101Things with buyback or the cards that suspend themselves for a few turnsare close
>>96976749Checks out. Always seems like when the meld finally happens you're either in a position where you're pretty much winning anyway so the meld didn't matter or you're effectively already lost and the meld was more of a for fun play before being taken out. Both cases it doesn't really matter. I'd like to see more of these just for the fun of playing big card and see how they can play with the theme.
What cards should i look for to make a thematic but preferably not overly oppressive Nicol Bolas deck? I'm absolutely including Cruel Entertainment, for example.
>>96976837yeah, too often one half of the meld card sucks, or it costs 5+ mana to meld to a mediocre creature with no protection.I think Urza's like the only one that can kinda, sorta, maybe swing a game. Maybe Brisela even further down the line.
Got a Sakura-Tribe Elder, Naya Charm, Farseek, and Cultivate on their way to slot in, but I feel like I'm building all ramp that doesn't have a payoff yet.I'd like to peak at Bracket 3 at best, and maybe do something stupid like Polyraptor and Marauding Raptor for a somewhat auto-win condition.Any suggestions? >Evolving Adapative and Magebane Lizard are non-negotiable, I love my little dudes.https://moxfield.com/decks/AII-0dD1gkan4n4XmYIg7Q
>>96976840I mean, Nicol Bolas is one of the few characters where you can just play a ton of cards with his face in the artwork. He even has basic lands. And if that isn't enough, you can also include Ugin adjacent cards. I don't think my list is very thematic, but it does play a few cards more for flavour reasons than gameplay. It's also pretty clunky, but you have to accept that when playing Nicol Bolas.https://moxfield.com/decks/8pMt9I8wCU-bAboJStZdWQ
>>96976840Step 1: Become homosexual
Ya Im most excited for this. Why yes I enjoy artifact tokens, how did you know
So since static unconditional Flashback (during your turn) is solidly at 6-mana between picrel and the temur Iroh, how much would static unconditional Jump-start cost in the current era?
>>96976920Hideous card and you type like a predditor lol. The absolute state of UBfags.
>stars align and you kill another player on turn 4ok and then what? seems too fair
>>96976902Nice to see a more spell slinging focused deck than the usual planeswalkers/discard. I'll go through the whole list thoroughly when I find the time.>>96976918Way ahead of you. Did you have anything to actually contribute?

>>96977124yeah bud, strawman you make wild assumptions and put words in people's mouths whenever they say anything about cedh or brackets.it's poor bait or you got triggered. you may pick all that apply.
>>96977138>I made Meld Mishra and aggro'd the tableyou said this>Mishra was my only threat (smol bean) you said this>i offended the sweaty cedh dropoutsyou said this>i died after 2 full turn rotationsyou also said thisSo please tell me which part about my post is a strawman. It's all pretty accurate. You made a big, scary creature with Discard, Burn, Removal, Keyword Soup, A weaker Board Wipe, and even token generation (and you get to pick 3 each time you attack AND when you played him) while haivng the option to target various different players and their things with said abilities stapled to him. Oh and he's a 9/9 who is directly encouraged to attack (and give himself Trample/Menace if you feel like it).I repeat, you are a whiny faggot. Make a big fuckin' beatstick, get targeted. >>96976852Meld Titania has worked well for me
>>96977156>So please tell me which part about my post is a strawmanall of it. you keep making wild assumptions, know nothing of the board state or interactions that followed and clearly don't care to find out.But because I played one half threatening creature, I ... what, am immune to being ganged up on or being the lesser threat at the table? I must be the salty bitch because I managed to make a meld off of an attack trigger?Like your bait is so bad I can't even figure out what you are trying to say.
>>96977206Are you being intentionally retarded? You're the one whining that you were killed for playing Mishra. You included how it was your "only" threat to try and make yourself seem like some kind of victim. You played a threat that affected and could effect everyone but you decided to bitch and moan instead of turning it into a winning position. You're not even responding to the point, I'm literally quoting your own story and you're calling it a strawman, did you make it up?

>>96977404I'll be honest I do like to see peoples combos go off in other peoples decks, it shows gumption
>>96977530I've played against a few and it's alright, really salted one guy up playing my clone deck and doing it better than him. Also folds to board wipes so depends how your meta is.
>>96976207Golbez is really fun if you like to kill people with non combat damage triggers. You can chunk people for like 20 if you recur a filigree attendant and there's a lot of neat underrated artifact in black. I'm still between building him and clue lazav however
>>96977394>for some reasonIt was because everyone had already abandoned standard and modern to play Commander because it turns out SHOCKER trying to competitively play a trading card game that constantly releases new cards for several different kinds of formats with no community testing and wildly varying degrees of design competency is both extremely unfun and a fucking retarded waste of time and energy. And that was before the player base has decided to turn into Gigafucks and make Magic their investing portfolio instead of buying real securities, ensuring that the few fence sitters who might have been interested in competitive formats walked away because they didn't feel like spending $300+ bucks to make a self piloting net deck that would be obsolete by the end of the year (if it didn't get fucking destroyed by a ban that is, hope nobody was waiting on their Vivi package last week!)

>>96976749>choose 3 a turn>9/9Yes i wonder why you, who made himself the threat, was targeted.

>>96977776I just play stuff because it's fun. When I first started, I figured I wanted to just play standard. I IMMEDIATELY figured out standard made your cards go poof fairly often, so I then asked around about what formats let me keep using my cards. I was told modern or commander. Modern was an absolute hellscape and cost a kidney to play, so I settled on commander. So far I've had fun.
>>96977776>ensuring that the few fence sitters who might have been interested in competitive formats walked away because they didn't feel like spending $300+ bucks to make a self piloting net deck that would be obsolete by the end of the yearfor comparison, classic modern decks like tron and jund lasted roughly 8 years before FIRE design finally kicked them out of the meta

>>96977776Man, what a way to go. I remember slowly building my modern UW control list over several years, using budget alternatives, slowly putting together the more expensive cards and trying to make sun titan work in the meantime. That's what modern is to me. RIP.

>>96976255Grenzo misses the point of a flying men deck. The mix of impulse draw and theft means you can't draw into your primary wincons (pump spells) if the player you're targeting isn't running them, and you can't cast your wincons (pump spells) because combat is already over and you can't cast anything before combat the next turn.Subira Tulzidi Caravanner is the best option for the kind of deck you want. Smellerbee is a distant second. Rose isn't the kind of deck you want, but it's better than Smellerbee overall.

>>96978489thats my analysis as well, have you actually tried it in the 99?That's really the feedback im looking for.
>>96978450Flying men decks win through extra turns, decking out, and overrun. With impulse theft you can't rely on your opponents running enough extra turn spells for you to be able to cast them consistently, thoracle is unreliable because you're restricted in your timing for casting it, labman is unreliable because it needs to live a turn cycle even if you grab it, and overruns are only available after combat.Extra combats could function like extra turns but they don't untap your lands, and Grenzo doesn't help you find them in your own deck so you're still hoping opponents are running them.
>>96978468
>>96978510You got a lot of overruns in mono blue lol? Here's a good example of a flying man deck in a highlander format. https://moxfield.com/decks/03nwbMiw_kuVPrfHsrpAyQits a tempo/control deck and as far as I know, always has been.
>>96978527Read the post I'm responding to. It's a mono-red flying men deck looking for a commander. It obviously can't run the mono-blue flying men wincons.

What is more fun, monoblack or simic?
>>96978627I think the answer is actually no.>106.12a. An ability that triggers whenever a permanent "is tapped for mana" or is tapped for mana of a specified type triggers whenever such a mana ability resolves and produces mana or the specified type of mana. The Gaea's Cradle did not produce any mana, so Wild Growth doesn't trigger.

>>96979158That's true, nvm.
>>96979536No, it does not produce mana.In this scenario, Gaea's Cradle is enchanted by Wild Growth, and no creatures are under your control. Activating Gaea's Cradle's mana ability ({T}: Add {G} for each creature you control) resolves but adds zero mana to your mana pool, as there are no creatures.Wild Growth's triggered ability states: "Whenever enchanted land is tapped for mana, its controller adds an additional {G}." Per Comprehensive Rules 106.12a, such a trigger occurs only when the mana ability resolves and produces mana. Since Gaea's Cradle produces no mana, Wild Growth's ability does not trigger. This interpretation reflects a rules clarification from July 2015, which updated the conditions for these triggers to require actual mana production. Earlier rulings (pre-2015) permitted the trigger regardless, but that is no longer the case.
>>96979565>westoid slop bad>asian ip goodbased
>>96979611Yes, mostly.Asian IPs also have a much lower chance of being bastardized by ideologues too, so that helps.
>>96979536>>96979536The game isn't looking for whether you activated a mana ability of the land, it's looking for whether you tapped the enchanted land for mana. 106.2a gives three conditions for this definition.1. You tapped a permanent to use one of its mana abilities.2. That ability resolved.3. That ability produced mana.Notably, condition 3 is not met.
Would it be possible to 3d print cards?
>>96979607>>96979675some people here really need to brush up on their rules knowledgeRule 605 "Mana Abiities"
>>96978689I use wild growth on damage. The green mana gets added to your floating mana. You probably had to click it in your pool.
>>96979733Fandom is not a particularly reliable source of information, especially regarding MTG rules. It doesn't give any citations for that ruling. As the other anon noted, the rules surrounding this were changed in 2015 with the Magic Origins release, and the ruling on Fandom was put in in 2008.
>>96979865rule 605 is still rule 605 regardless whether it's found in fandom or in the mothershipthe issue is that you seem to care about the amount of mana that the land produced when wild growth doesn't care about that unlike something like mana flarethe point is cradle was tapped for mana - the amount of actual mana produced is irrelevant - and that's enough for wild growth to trigger
>>96976080>TQCipher and Parley come to mind, latter is perfect for Commander but there are only 2 worthwhile cards with this effect.
>>96976080>TQLandfall
>>96978632What's your sliver deck like non-sliver cards wise?
>>96979882Again, Wild Growth is not looking solely for whether you activated a mana ability, it's looking for when the enchanted land is "tapped for mana", which is defined in 106.12a, telling us that the mana ability has to actually produce mana for the trigger to actually fire.If Wild Growth read something like "Whenever you activate a mana ability of enchanted land...", then it would work how you're proposing.
>>96979906>has to actually produce mana for the trigger to actually fireit did produce mana - 0, specificallyyes the rules are that autisticit's funny how you're this much in denial when rule 605 exists and my explanation is the correct one that makes sense of both rules 106 and 605
>>96978125I run this and use it to dig for one of several 'discard your hand - deal X damage equal to cards discarded' cards
This is the only monored commander I've ever had fun with. Watching my friends panic as I stockpile mana knowing that whatever one of them tries to be the hero is going to be the target feels like what Commander should be.
is there a better swamp art for a vampire deck than this?
>>96979911605 is only useful in so far as it tells us what a mana ability is for the purposes of rule 106. What in 605 does my explanation not account for? You haven't actually given what rule in 605 you're referring to. I'm aware of what a mana ability is and even said it's one of three conditions layed out in 106.12a.
>>96979982here from the mothership pdf itself since you're that autistic, it even references cradle itselfagain, all wild growth cares about is the land being tapped for mana - because ofc it won't work if it got tapped by icy manipulator or something - and that's all it cares aboutthe amount of actual mana generated doesn't matter, whether it's 0, 10, or infinite
>>96979971>steps and phaseslet me guess, that also means turns now?
>>96980017yeah, we know it's a mana ability. the rules even state that it doesn't produce mana. But it's a mana ability that isn't tapped for mana, so it how does it add G?
>>96980018has for awhile now anon like 30 years actually
>>96980034again it doesn't matter what amount of mana it produced, only that it was tapped for mana, aka you used it's mana abilityit doesn't matter the amount of mana generatedall it cares about is that you used its mana ability, aka you tapped it for manathis isn't hard anon, you're just very much in denial kekw
>>96980057no, you are creating conjecture. The oracle says 'tapped for mana' not 'activate a mana ability' it wasn't tapped for mana.

>>96980066>>96980057106.12. To “tap [a permanent] for mana” is to activate a mana ability of that permanent that includes the {T} symbol in its activation cost. See rule 605, “Mana Abilities.”106.12a An ability that triggers whenever a permanent “is tapped for mana” or is tapped for mana of a specified type triggers whenever such a mana ability resolves and produces mana or the specified type of mana.106.12b A replacement effect that applies if a permanent “is tapped for mana” or tapped for mana of a specific type and/or amount modifies the mana production event while such an ability is resolving and producing mana or the specified type and/or amount of mana.Oh would you look at that. >>96980090illiterate. I literally created an AI RAG that consumed all of scryfall, all rules, and all judge rulings. To address the scenario explicitly: with Gaea's Cradle enchanted by Wild Growth and no creatures under your control, activating the land's mana ability ({T}: Add {G} for each creature you control) resolves without adding any mana to your pool, as the number of creatures is zero (per rule 107.1, zero is a valid natural number but yields no {G} here). The Wild Growth triggered ability ("Whenever enchanted land is tapped for mana, its controller adds an additional {G}") does not activate. Rule 106.12a states: "An ability that triggers whenever a permanent 'is tapped for mana' or is tapped for mana of a specified type triggers whenever such a mana ability resolves and produces mana or the specified type of mana." Since Gaea's Cradle produces no mana upon resolution, the condition for the trigger is unmet (consistent with interpretations in rule 106.7, where producing zero mana does not satisfy "produces mana" for such effects). This reflects the rules update from September 26, 2015, which amended the timing and conditions for mana-related triggers to require actual mana production, overturning prior interpretations (e.g., pre-2015 rulings allowing triggers on zero-yield activations). Official judge resources, including Gatherer and recent discussions on platforms like MTG Salvation, affirm that no mana is generated in this case.If additional factors (e.g., other enchantments or replacement effects like Mana Reflection) are involved, the outcome may vary; please provide details for further analysis.

mfs forced me to get into the weeds and look it up.>106.12. To “tap [a permanent] for mana” is to activate a mana ability of that permanent that includes the {T} symbol in its activation cost. See rule 605, “Mana Abilities.”>106.12a An ability that triggers whenever a permanent “is tapped for mana” or is tapped for mana of a specified type triggers whenever such a mana ability resolves and produces mana or the specified type of mana.>106.12b A replacement effect that applies if a permanent “is tapped for mana” or tapped for mana of a specific type and/or amount modifies the mana production event while such an ability is resolving and producing mana or the specified type and/or amount of mana. This means the answer here depends on if we're dealing with a replacement effect, or a triggered effect. Fortunately, we have rules for this too.>614.1a Effects that use the word “instead” are replacement effects. Most replacement effects use the word “instead” to indicate what events will be replaced with other events.>614.1b Effects that use the word “skip” are replacement effects. These replacement effects use the word “skip” to indicate what events, steps, phases, or turns will be replaced with nothing.>614.1c Effects that read “[This permanent] enters with . . . ,” “As [this permanent] enters . . . ,” or “[This permanent] enters as . . . “ are replacement effects.>614.1d Continuous effects that read “[This permanent] enters . . .” or “[Objects] enter [the battlefield] . . .” are replacement effects.>614.1e Effects that read “As [this permanent] is turned face up . . . ,” are replacement effects.Since Wild Growth lacks all of these keywords, it is a triggered mana ability, and thus does not work if Gaea's Cradle produces {0}. Then again, I'm not sure how or why you would put Wild Growth on a Gaea's Cradle when the land can't produce mana. Just put it on the forest you used to cast it.

>>96978228It would be a horrible idea for a store to "enforce" brackets because that means they need to dedicate employees to resolving game issues, like they're judges. Employees doing that means less employees actually working and selling things and tending to the profit aspects of the store. Instead, you're paying them full wage to baby sit an unofficial free event. My store would never do this shit. You manage your games yourself, you come to the front whining and you can go wait for 2 hours while they help the actual customers. I would have been the UB Consoomer for LotR, if they had done it well. But in the end it didn't matter because everyone else apparently consoomed it in my place.>>96980832>You'll accept anything if it is attached to fantasy. Do you know how many blue cards always had black wizard men on them and I never once cared. Many also look cool. But LotR is not the place to do that shit.>>96980854Personally I think its because the Spiderman pointing meme was born entirely from modern internet culture, and not really a major part of Spiderman "lore". Avatar has comedy strewn throughout its first half of the series pretty often, so it is seen as being extremely faithful to the source material. Its also got the benefit of being a setting that people enjoy and resonate with that meshes better with MtG than Spiderman does, so people are naturally softer on it because of this as well.

>>96982339MH is weird where it's not character-focused, it's monster-focused. The monsters are obviously the star of the show, but the hunters still would have to matter, and you could pretty easily sort out some mechanics (a lot of equipment-matters stuff for Hunters, probably the return of Traps, the monsters themselves don't PARTICULARLY lend themselves to any clear mechanics that aren't just bespoke for each monster but they could play around with enraging or elemental damage maybe) it's just a matter of can you really make a full set? The worldbuilding is THERE in MH, but it's not too fleshed out. It could fill a couple commander precons maybe, and possibly a smaller set, TMNT/SPM-sized, but I don't think a full set without it feeling kinda samey to the layman. Avatar maybe over-repeats itself a bit with how many of each character there are, but that at least is in service of something. MH could probably avoid too many subspecies and wouldn't need to repeat monsters really, but a lot of monsters fill very similar 'niches' in the games so they'd feel same-y.
>>96982586I feel like a jurassic park style thing would be a good fit for monhun. Both have the same appeal.
>>96982603The two "in-other-set" UB products were generally not well-received and I don't think they really like doing those anyway. Either way, we're getting a Secret Lair and a good chance it's just reskins as-is. That doesn't PRECLUDE them doing more down the line, I can see them revisiting, say, 40k as a proper set later on.

>>96980548What a retarded larp post holy shit
>>96982612I kind of want them to do warhammer fantasy over a full blown 40k set. It fits better with MTG and has basically all the common creature types/guilds covered right out of the gate.
>>96982163If it was just disappointment you fags wouldn't be having threadly melties about art on a children's card game. Magic barely had an identity to begin with and it had lost what little it had years before LOTR ushered in the era of UB. Aetherdrift OTJ Capenna - all the hat sets were inevitable once they had churned through the 4-5 generic fantasy planes. WOTC is incapable of making good stories and beloved characters, all their biggest hits came from 3rd party creatives like Greenwood. That's why despite having millions of players and nearly 30 decades of dominance of nerd card games Magic is basically unknown outside of its playerbase and very few people know who or what the fuck Jace and Chandra and Dominaria and Zendikar are. MtG has as close to 0 pop culture impact as an IP can have, which is infinitely more embarassing given it's massive audience. If you're over the age of 18 you're at least 6+ years too old to give a shit what art is on a nerd card game piece.

>>96982910No, it's actually quite on point
>>96982914> MTG UB sets sell better than MTG> Funko pops in financial trouble!Remind me how this makes a point?
>>96982925Numbergoup for a crossover advertising platform is bad actually
>>96982933> Funko Pop> CrossoverHow are these the same thing?Remember we're talking about your D- meme you made. Dont change the subject

>>96982943>pretending to not understand thingsTake your meds.
>>96982647>Don't like things>Let things you enjoy become fortnite>consoom
>>96982910You wouldn't find it funny, MaRo
Starting to think more than half the anons here don't like the game and just come here to shitpost. I almost never see anons talking about what they like about the game specifically other than it's magic or that they like the newly released UB
>>96982949Funko is not "crossing over" with anything, it's a toy company that makes toys for your brand if you pay them. They make them all in the same style, but that's a lack of creativity more than it being an actual crossover between platforms. >B-BUT YOU CAN GET IRON MAN AND NICOL BOLASIt isn't an MTG/Marvel crossover, they both just paid Funko to make a toy for them. You're fucking stupid.
>>96982974>it's a toy company that makes toys for your brand if you pay themYou only proved my point
>>96982973>more than half the anons here don't like the gameUB is not the game its a cancer.
>>96982973It is even worse in /mtg/
>>96982979>completely and disastrously proven wrong>you proved me right!!!Cognitive Dissonance is why you get headaches all the time.
Someone bake new so we can get out of this shit thread
>>96982910simple facts are no memes, anon
>>96982973noo.. you think?
>>96982180Meds.>>96982647>If it was just disappointment you fags wouldn't be having threadly melties about art on a children's card gameConvince me those people actually play.
>>96982851Considering how hard it retcons the source material, unironically yes.
>>96982944Only reason FF’s art was mostly good was due to Squenix having a lot of nip artists doing the art and holding a gun to the back of Hasbro’s head. But even back in 2015 with Origins I noticed WotC’s art was starting to become a bit too homogenised.
>>96983105Avatar seems like it's in a similar boat with a lot of its nip artists. Then again allegedly WotC treats its artists like shit, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've been bleeding talent. Pop quiz: without looking it up when's the last time we had Rebecca Guay art?
>>96983104Retcons are a part of media. Many TV shows retcon. Only retards think, for instance that the Timeless Child in Doctor Who is "non-canon.">Spider-Man should invalidate itself because it retcons!
>>96983120What makes you think Guay is gone due to treatment and not due to costing too much? Anything at all?
>>96982647The thing is I think they could have done a god job with Dragonstorm if they split it into 3 sets (and made it an official return to blocks). Based on the story and premise, Set 1 could have been the original Dragonlords fighting against the resurgent clans post Phyrexian Invasion (would probably have a bland name called Tarkir Civil War), Set 2 could have been the emergence of the new Dragonstorms where the original Dragonlords disappeared into them (maybe call it something like Destiny Reforged to tie back into the similar fuckery that occurred with Fate Reforged or call this one Dragonstorm). Finally Set 3 could be what we actually got from Dragonstorm but tying it all off with the Khan and Dragon alliance by calling it something like Clans of Tarkir and setting the stage for the initial fuckery Nicol Bolas will do on his inevitable return.
>>96983120Wasn’t there some rumour going around that they’d started using AI to do art?
>>96982345It's a nice targeted snipe against one guy, but how are you planning to get it back for the other two players AND have them let it through? I did pick up a copy after reading the manga though
>>96983126>Many TV shows retconI don't care what "many shows" do, the moment they retcon something as important as what exactly the Avatar is, it's fundamentally a different story, and it's perfectly fair to take the original one after it.This isn't even really a Death of the Author vs Word of God debate, it's more like choosing Pre-Modern over Modern. I can acknowledge either point of view in that regard, and that the source material was intended to be continuous, but there's still a definitive point where you can point at and go "this new thing invalidates the older material that was meant to be able to stand on its own. I will stick with the older material for my experiences."Trust me, you'll be happier if you accept this view, since you can use it to invalidate a lot of shitty sequels made years after the original media ended.
>put a bunch of shitty but interesting cards like tempt with immortality, grave endeavor in my deck>turn 7>guy has been looping cyclonic rift with archaemancer and thassaswhy cant I play fun decks anymore
>>96983173damn my decks would be a lot less fun to play against if I had money
>>96983158Is Najeela fun? Got a Cloud copy from the pre-release alongside mono-white Cloud but have been debating between building Najeela or Celes (also from prerelease).
>>96983131>What makes you think Guay is gone due to treatment and not due to costing too much? This is a billion dollar corporation with enough money to waste getting UW variant arts of licensed IP cards.>>96983152There were rumors that certain cards were AI'd, even one of the Tophs here, but there's no "rumor" about it. They admitted to using AI in pic related.https://x.com/wizards_magic/status/1744056808254173447
>>96982586Monster Hunter does have some key characters and supporting cast you could make legendary creatures out of. But that would require research from WotC and that's too much work for company that wants to make quick buck with MtG.
>>96983173>anymorethis has been a thing for like 10+ years now
>>96982728Feels like Resident Evil is being saved up as next year's set, because it has more western appeal compared to Monster Hunter.
>>96983173brackets solve this btw
>>96983253Not that anon, but I'd imagine his bracket would be like a 2 and everyone has to agree to that.I've still had people say "mines a bracket 3" and fucking nuke me before I can even play.
