Question for the group. In order to afford enough chivalry/dread to fill out Elf King's nation, I keep being dragged toward things which have a decidedly ominous/evil tone. But, I wasn't necessarily desiring the dude to be truly evil, just far more aggressive and willing to use violence on behalf of elves (and maybe non-humans in general) than most elves of the Witcher world seem to do. He'd probably be thought of well by his subjects (to answer the one anon a couple threads back who was asking about why I picked Honorable for him) since he's basically geosculpting a habitable nation for them from the literal ground up. I wound up having to shift back to the Industrial Revolution setup in order to get rid of Wumbadump, since it was just there for purely mathematical purposes. He's basically the ruler of this world's Chile or Norway, claiming that small peninsula at the very northwest part of the continent. Nominally, he claims the whole mountain range as well, but mostly just has mining operations working the coastal side of the mountains. Most of his people live in reinforced shelters on the frosty coast, doing brisk trade in fish and pearls brought in from offshore, with a small but effective agricultural sector toward Inis Porhoet. King Daerwyn has seized the headwaters of the Toina River, putting immense pressure on the major human cities of Aedd Gynvael, Rakverelin and Tridam. Their outrage at him using his earth magic to dam and divert the river is the pretext Daerwyn needed to launch an assault on Poviss as a whole, seeking to push his borders to the Toina River itself, if not all the way to the Targo River beyond it, and thus establish permanent lines of defense. Daerwyn's armies are remarkably large for his nation's size, fueled by non-human refugees, fanatical elves, and rumors of soldiers drawn from overseas colonies hidden from the lords of men. Certainly his skilled navy lends credence to these colonial rumors, being a formidable force in the Gulf of Praxeda and harassing Lan Exeter and Pont Vanis, which now must move reinforcements slowly over land. The waifu has to be extremely mentally ill to fall in love with my build and frankly that's just bad writing.5. I'd be too tempted to abort and give them a happy ending, which I don't think I'll let my build have.

Being too similar to someone else can be bad, but integrating other builds with a similar central theme would be much better than just harping over an NPC the whole time.Instead of using a Kitsune as the main boss, maybe you can use the Kiro no Kawa so you can loop into Kohaku and his ID stuff? She would probably work well, her Rentry says shes all about manipulating love. Shu might start messaging one of the Nogitsune (he doesn't fall for her but they could very easily manipulate him by asking for his help) and Ai goes on a fucking conquest to try and kill them all or find out what's going on - great way to naturally add her to a fight scene. Maybe you ally with Kenji to try and find a 'happy ending' and end up failing (maybe the rest of the HLA teams up with the Kitsune/Kiro no Kawa, introducing some friction to the group).Whatever the case, I don't really think it's a terrible plot idea, especially if you're able to space it out over multiple writefags or an arc so it doesn't feel ham-fisted. Some builds can be tricked into falling for the plan (Alyona thinks one is her childhood crush, Dawn feels like she'd date someone online, etc), it could spark jealousy in the (very few) ships we have and get things moving more quickly on those, and it could reveal more depth on your character and alter their interactions with other builds that are aware of the situation. Also gives your build more motivation to be anti-Yokai and engage with them since they've killed your love interest (while at the same time humanizing them since your build fell in love with a Yokai.) As for writing quality, we all make slop here. The sooner you realize that and get over it, the more fun you'll have. Hell, most of my suggestions are slop and should probably be ignored.

But at the end of that road is very likely a new Witcher school, founded by your character, which is cool. If for no other reason than so he's not completely flying solo.
