Have any of you played a game/story during the apocalypse?

We did the Noah's Ark event and it was fucking cringe because I was surrounded by dudes getting emotional and crying and shit and then at the end I died for not being a bitch baby boy like the lot of them.

This is the third time within a week ive heard this word. Im getting too old to understand these new words. What does it mean?
>>
>I want her to sit on my face
Do you really?
>>
>>97102273
jelqing is a type of meme exercise, basically a dick workout program. It somewhat works, somewhat doesn't
>>
>>97102292
If it actually did anything people would already have that shit covered in normal medical treatment. The closest thing to that is a surgery that readjusts the way the penis is anchored to gain an inch. Sadly this shit isn't popular enough to be refined further.
>>
You know the one thing they don't warn you about when being imbued is now you notice all botfarms are run by mages.
>>
>>97102357
Well for one, it's fringe science for dudes that are probably afraid of being called insecure, and two it's pretty risky. It has somewhat proven gains but the risk of getting ED from nerve/blood vessel damage is a big deterrent. It's not going to be like muscle growth but your blood vessels and other body parts too can grow as a response to micro tears not just muscles

ATTENTION!!!
Before you post the inane question
>How would Anonymous react to [insert splat here]?

Consult the following
>Beast: the Sin-Eaters
>Changeling: the Masquerade
>Demon: the Primordial
>Deviant: the Forsaken
>Geist: the Lost
>Hunter: the Awakening
>Mage: the Created
>Mummy: the Vigil
>Promethean: the Fallen
>Vampire: the Renegades
>Werewolf: the Ascension
>Wraith: the Requiem
I hope this clears things up.

DtF is literally just Devilman. Why isn’t it popular?
>>
>>97102510
Beast and Deviant.
>>
>>97102573
Because it's filled with cringe Paradise Lost fanfic. Take Lucifer's cock out of your mouth guys.

Also, it decided to "umm actually" the Magefags and they really did not like a taste of their own medicine.
>>
>>97102573
Is Devilman popular?
>>
>>97102619
Of course, Devilman Crybaby just came out…7 years ago…oh my god.
>>
>>97102573
Because the base book barely has any rules in it.
It's so busy trying to be the protagonist of the edition that it forgot it's supposed to be a game, and Hunter took the spotlight for the very same reason. It has essentially the same problem as early CtD.
DtF is a fantastic concept with a lot of really cool shit. Sadly, the execution was half baked and it didn't get a 20th like Changeling did.
>>
>>97102604
Completely forgot Deviant was a thing. What is it about? The real one I mean
>>97102619
Devil man was and is extremely popular unless you're a baby I think. It's almost Akira-tier that people know about it but few have actually watched it. A lot like Nietzsche, people like to talk about it but no one's actually reading it
>>
>>97101878

Only true for Nosferatu unfortunately. It seems like the strange clan curse that makes them ugly will most of the time shrinkntheir dick into a vestigial nub. But sometimes it will give a nosferatu a huge hog of a dick. These nosferatu are also prone to sexual assault & rape
>>
>>97102670
>It's almost Akira-tier that people know about it but few have actually watched it.
And that's the problem. It might be well known, but that doesn't mean shit if people don't care enough about it to seek out similar media.
>>
>>97102670
Broad strokes are that you underwent a science/occult experiment, willingly or not, and you came out broken and changed but with incredible powers. You rebelled and now the Conspiracy that made you, or another that wants to use you, is hunting you down and they've got their own Deviants to send after you who are loyal to them. The more a Deviant shows off their overt powers the easier time a Conspiracy has tracking them down, but that might be what a Renegade wants. DtR is a game of revenge and an infinite web of connections between yourself, the Conspiracy, and everything else they've touched. Renegades (PCs) want to burn it all down and there is always more to burn

There are 5 Origins. Autourgics wanted 100% to go through whatever they went through for personal reasons. Epimorphs agreed to be Remade but for a reason seperate to the process itself. Exomorphs didn't want to go through it all all. The Genotypals become Remade because of a factor of their ancestry. Finally, Pathologicals were made by total happenstance. Each of these is mostly about how you relate to the world

And 5 Clades(power sources). Cephalists (psychics), Chimerics (human/X hybrids), Coactives (infused with an energy of some kind), Invasives (cyborgs, magical/mechanical), and Mutants (mutants). Your Clade gives some unique traits, but is also about the aesthetics of your powers

Powers cover a huge range of things. Energy manipulation, shrinking, flight, attacks of all sorts, illusions, memory theft, super human skills, immortality, metamorphosis, etc. A huge variety of stuff, with a lot of ways to customise them further. They're not free though and each power has to be attached to a Scar. These can be things like needing a charge up time, involuntary activation, the loss of limbs, self damage, emotional stunting, etc. The more powerful your ability the more severe the scar has to be, but you can basically mix and match freely. Great all around

>DtF
"Down to Fuck".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM3lVxvf-sk
>>
>>97102685
Aesthetics and inspiration sort of goes above actual similar media but part of the problem is I think demon was late to the game and probably got a lot less free marketing because roleplaying a sexy vampire is probably much easier. I'm not 100% sure but I think VtM's ease of LARPing is part of the reason it's so popular compared to the other games
>>97102674
One might call that breed a Blacksferatu maybe?
>>
>>97102757
>not a suck on this post
Devilman really does seem like a WoD game at times
>>
>>97102850
It's more typical in Japanese kindred
>>
>>97102698
Cool, thank you. So is this sort of a more science aligned mixture of Demon and Promethean but with an X-man coat of paint? I guess it's fairly unique still but it seems a bit out there
>>
>>97102938
It was probably conceived when Heroes the show was big.

If I wanted a game where the players were whimsical insects doing bug kingdom things, what would be the best splat?
>>
>>97102938
It's a monster maker at its heart. Science, occult, other. It's all valid. X-Men isn't a bad touch stone for it as there is a lot of superhero fiction in it but it's also for filling in the gaps of things that the other splats don't cover. So all sorts of possession, the more mythological types of werewolves, Jekyll and Hyde, the creature of the black lagoon, and so on.

See these for more specifics, the first one talks about how powers and drawbacks get combined and has a list of all of them, the second one talks about Telepathy and Concentration as a pair, and the last one talks about some of the other drawbacks to being a Deviant.

>>
>>97102963
I suppose so. Seems very Dandadan-esque too now that that's very popular though you'd have to add a level of occultism to it I feel
>>97102995
>Monster maker
>mythological types/possession
Isn't this already sort of Promethean? but yeah it's interesting. It does seem very cool to reference for a situation where you want a monster or a baddie that isn't really covered by the supernatural or the splats but this seems like another one of those games I'll never play
>>
>>97103029
Promethean has some made monsters but it's pretty rigid about what you can be. DtR on the other hand let's you make a vampire, werewolf, Frankenstein's monster, wizard, changeling, etc. The difference in breadth is basically impossible to overstate because you have a small template and then a huge array of abilities and drawbacks to make your own monster with. They do have a central core that connects all the various deviants together as a cohesive splat but one deviant can almost be as different to another deviant as they are to an uratha or kindred, or an uratha or kindred are to each other.

The Mnemoi are better because they have a rich oral tradition akin to the rebels in Fahrenheit 451.
>>
Thread's off to a great start I see.

Do people actually use the fighting style merits in nWoD?
>>
>>97103709
My table does. They're a really cheap way to improve your character's fighting ability IF they meet the prerequisites. I'd go so far as to say most characters that plan on doing a good amount of fighting should have at least one.

How do you even play a being that's older than the known universe? At best, you would just play a mentally-unhinged humanoid villain.

... Ignoring the question of why you are using the Storyteller System for this, the Mirror's Space Opera and fantasy are probably worth your time.

So, it is like playing Mage. ;D
>>
>>97102977
I'd pick a different system personally. Maybe Ryuutama but change all references to bugs, like having the dragon be a worm or something?
But if your head is set on playing World of Darkness (and also not homebrewing a custom insect game), Changeling the Dreaming might work for you if you let the fantasy stuff be insect themed.

>>97103809
>At best, you would just play a mentally-unhinged humanoid villain.
Isn't that what people tend to play anyway?
>>
>>97103890
Sort of, Mage still encourages you to be somewhat moral for a little bit doesn't it? I'm talking about real Mage
>>
>>97103923
>Isn't that what people tend to play anyway?
That's specifically the problem that I'm pointing out. It seems that the authors of the Caliginous Cosmos either didn't think ahead or they have a high opinion of people's ability to roleplay.

I assume that expending orgone depletes a mage's health. That probably explains the trope of the decrepit weakling wizard one sees in fantasy.
