Fantasy druids are all about the cycle of life - when something dies, it's supposed to be eaten by predators or decomposers to recycle the nutrients. Hoarding those nutritional resources, by reanimating the corpse as a zombie or preserving yourself as a lich, is anathema to that worldview. Which is why both fantasy druids and necromancers often get rot/fungi powers, but that's a different discussion entirely.

Our side having Holy Magic access means we might have some advantage in such battles.Insubordination sucks but custom personality minions can probably mitigate it, and using my magic contracts and exiling those who refuse it.My combat capability can be described as "Magic Artillery". Basically I shoot down high level elemental magic and use illusions to hide myself. Close combat can be left to my minions to deal with.
