I've decided to get a blood bowl league started on january. I played a couple of games back in the day, but I've been tasked to learn the rules and organize the whole thing. Personally, I'm considering either norse or necromantic horror, since both seem not too tough to learn. Got a couple of questions about choices tho>on a scale from 1 to 10 what is the level of 'must have' of a yhetee in the norse team?>love the boar models and the rule to help other players stand up, but they seem like a free point generator for the oponent. I'd guess just one is enough?>Are there any other 'official' paint schemes for necromantic horror? I'm not a big fan of the orange and black stripes.>Vampires are my 3rd option but their rules seem to convoluted for someone who's not played in years. I guess it's not a new player friendly team, but is it fun? I don't care about winning games, but I do care about me or the other guy not having a good timeThanks for reading, I'm pretty excited about our little league
>>97108876Yhetee is not really necessary. He is kind of a glass cannon. Berserkers are also not the greatest. They did get much better in season 3, but they are still pretty costly for a more consistent ball handling linemen with frenzy. Boar is if you want to keep your team value low. It is good to maybe have one on the field for fouling and being block support but not much else. Paint the team whatever you want. Why do you want an "official" color? It is more fun to make your own goofy team name and scheme. Vampires are fun with a small learning curve. Your runners often end up more as people to use hypnotic gaze than play the ball though. Make sure to smartly position your thralls. Any thrall that gets a level is generally worth kicking for a fresh guy. All your TV goes into your vamps.
>>97108340>>97109365That's the issue, will need to use them as regular Darkoath but I think the Savagers have more fun rules
>>97108804Does anyone have a scan of the Warcry second edition core rules/compendium that they could please share?I know everything is available online and the books are out of date but I'd like to read them regardlessHere are the scans I have so farhttps://mega.nz/folder/hGsU3LAQ#IJMEGYaqP3_PhsFpipZIYw
>>97109365Yes obviously she doesn't have their abilities. What I'm saying is you could run her as an ally from Slaves to Darkness, because the Slaves to Darkness version of the Warqueen has access to abilities that are generically useful across factions.
im making a proxy for lord borak and i've used metal and resin pieces of different chaos champions from different games to charge him with as much chaotic juju as possible
>>97110124There's an STD version? She has the Darkoath runemark not STD
>>97110216There are two versions of the Darkoath Warqueen. Go look at the Slaves to Darkness faction page on Warcrier.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/emnpl3j1/whats-been-happening-on-necromunda-catch-up-on-the-story-in-time-for-spire-of-primus/Ozostium vs custom spyrer leader in Sthenian rig campaign. Possibly more plastic spyrer?
>>97112092I'm just glad they're finishing this marvel tier schlock. I don't care about named characters and their drama. Hive Secundus and Underhells was a nice campaign, though.
>>97110360 I would love to see more pictures of these - they look awesome!
>>97112513I don’t think there’ll be a conclusive ending, they’re just now releasing the plastic golden guy and released two resin minis of Haera so this plot might just go either unfinished or conclude unsatisfyingly either with no real ending. I do like the campaign in the new book being about the civil war though, seems neat
>>97112092>Hey you know that game about the Joe shmoe diet farmers fighting each other for resources and clout? >check out all these super named characters that aren't fighting in the dirt and mud and have the literal aristocracy and are so far above the gang wars you love so much. Isn't it awesome! I'm tired. I wish geedubs would go back to ignoring us.
>>97112907People are gonna call me a tasteless faggot for this, but I wish they would have gone all out on the civil war theme. Rules for Leman Russes, militia regiments and Necromundan Spiders and all that. We're not in the underhive anyways.
Got some cheap quads for Orlock for upcoming Ash Wastes games. I assume they want the heavy bolters over the harpoons, cost be damned? Any other suggestions for Ash Wastes play?
>>97112907According to an old Warhammer Community article, we're going to the Democratic Hive, Hive Mortis (zombie hive) and then the Eye of Selene. Hive Secundus was also on that list.
>>97113015I don’t think you’re a tasteless faggot, cuz I agree! Would’ve been neat to get rules for militias fighting against each other. We already have rules for cops which aren’t gangers, they’re literally cops on patrol, so why not necromundan militia fighting each other for their commanders who’s sworn fealty to one side or another. Ash Wastes campaign where one side is a gang fighting for Helmawr and the other are militia with a Leman Russ or a malcador fighting for Aranthus. Idk could’ve been sick but instead we just get the marvel schlock and none of the spectacle on the tabletop>>97113042I can’t wait to curb stomp pro democracy terrorists in the new Necromunda supplement “Totally not that one Judge Dredd novel.” The space station could be cool but idk how different that’d be from an ordinary undergone campaign but we just say we’re in space so we don’t let any nomads come aboard
>>97113499I mean, you can pretty much do that now, one of the Apocrypha downloads has rules for larger fights (Hive of Blood iirc) and outcast (or venator) rules can easily work for hive militia
>>97113644Interesting, will look into, thanks!
can anyone link me house of faith
>>97113499>>97113015>turning Necromunda into 40k
>>97112513agreed.
>>97108804How to make redemptionists good in newcromunda?
>>97115195Yeah put me out of my misery, but I like the idea of a civil war involving all a planet's establishments and not just the ones that fund the bloods and the crips. "But it's the GANG game!" then WHY bother with this planet wide setting changing event? Cuz GW sucks yeah yeah I know. Although I do understand not wanting Necromunda to be like 40k>>97115806Seconded, I love the red redemption's fluff and hate the modern cawdor aesthetic of ork tier scrap guns
>same blitzer failed a 4+ reroll touchdown catch twice in a gameFucking killing myself stg.
>>97112689>I would love to see more pictures of these - they look awesome!Ask and ye shall receive
>>97115806They are good unless you play the autistic puritan redemptionist with no cawdor.
>>97116793So they're not good.
>>97116845Playing with only half of your assets is not as good as playing with all, shocking discovery.
>>97116910If you don't gimp yourself it doesn't count
>>97116921Nigga please Klovis ia a huge WAACfag.
>>97116921PLS SAAAR DO NOT REDEEM, DO NOT REEDEEM!!
>>97116783Nice! Do you already have a name for them? These are some fancy looking models
>>97116793I didn't think you could mix and match. I thought if you went with a redemptionist leader you could only access the redemptionist side of the roster
>>97117553The "Gang alignment" rule for Cawdor is written to determine their alignment based on the balance between Cawdor and Redemptionist.Pure redemptionists is still decent but you'll be missing the D3 cawdor guys that always show up and struggling early, on top of being Outlaw. Redemptionists benefit greatly from the "no weapon discard" rule with Exterminator being cheap and not taking up a slot, giving every Redemptionists better mid-late campaign development and much more versatile than other gangs. They also get access to chainaxe with exterminator for ganger, one of the best CC weapon in the game that most other gangs can only get on leader or champs.
>>97117726Whats the benefit of putting an exterminator upgrade on a melee weapon rather than a gun? Can you use it in melee if its on the CCW?
>>97118300If you run out of ammo for one of your weapons inside your weapons you run of ammo for everything in that weapon. It is a result of how shit the rules are written.Usually people just do ammo checks for ammo type
>>97118430So after you shoot the executioner cartridge you have to roll for ammunition for your gun? that's kinda ass
>>97118300It's a cheap weapon that didn't use up a weapon slot. It always hit. It hit multiple target, pin, and set them on fire. Move + firing the gun has longer rage than your charge range, so you will be in position to fire more than to get into CC. Have a no slot weapon give you a lot of flexibility in build. You can have a chain axe exterminator combo with an unwieldy close combat weapon (with Bulging Biceps skill), and still has a range option.
>>97118482Not what I meant. For example if you give the executioner to lets say an autogun. If you run out of ammo with the autogun you can't shoot the executioner. Since you are out of ammo.Assuming GW is not retarded the intention was to prevent things like the Grenade launcher that naturally have multiple ammunition to just keep firing when they run out of ammo. Because the idea of ammo check is a mix of running out of ammo and/or the weapon jamming. But they never consider things like combi weapons or attachments like the executioner. So people instead of house ruling it simply give the attachment to a melee weapon.
>>97118518Combi and gun attachment like exterminator are separated guns that used different ammunition storageMultiple ammo on same weapon isn't, it's assumed that all of the ammo your have is on the magazine, and the one you need will always be the one in the chamber, it made less sense that your character keep a free ammo change action (reload) when carrying multiple ammo.
Anyone know if the new Necromunda stuff has been leaked. We are getting LI leaks so I know the influencers are permitted to leak shit now
>>97120951Why are the palanites siding with ozzy, arent they literally brainwashed to serve helmawr?
>>97121031Apparently he is a very powerful psyker that can dominate the minds of scores of people at the same time.
I'm looking at getting into Adeptus Titanicus.I'm having trouble finding resources for the game and I want to actually look over the rules before making a commitment to the game. Also is the 2018 version worth getting into over the 1988 version?
>>97122337gf/d/9XR5Qz1988 version is a lot more barebone while new version introduce formation, legio and a whole lots of new units.
I've seen a cheap copy of the Warcry first edition core rules for saleIs there any value in picking it up for the fluff/missions or has the second edition made it completely redundant?
I have never played a warhammer game and only have a cursory understanding of the setting based on what I've absorbed over the years from /tg/, redpill me on Necromunda. Like, I know it's a game about gang warfare, but the factions are all noble houses? What's the deal there?
>>97122821No, the noble house are the major houses on Necromunda and they only make cameo apperance in the game. The houses in the game are called the Clan Houses, a lesser house in term of political power but they're the major contributors in manufacturing of goods. And houses have their militia forces, that's the gangs. And most of the fighting happen in the Underhive, or the outside area of the Spires, wheres the law got less control. The playable factions in the game are not all clan houses. There're other major groups like the Enforcer (police), outside the Spires the Squat(Dwarf) and Nomad ruled the ash waste. And then there're the other minor faction like Genestealer cult, chaos cult, Venator, Spyrer, Corpse Grinder, Secundus Malstrain, Slave Ogryn and Outcast. The minor gangs simply got less rules and official products for them.
>>97122880So what, the clan houses are like what unions are to the mafia?
Gnome lineman #1 in progress. Close to done but I will probably try to do a bit more highlighting/layering.
Any good stand out colours asides from red? I want a vibrant sort of gang like the old 90's style vibrant colours instead of shitty muted colours
>>97122896Much closer to the usual corporate paramilitaries we've seen in a lot of sci-fi.The mafia does not take orders from unions. They used them to launder, pilfer, and hide money. You could find some similarities but overall it's a weak comparison.
Recommend me a mordheim warband. It's been years since I played the game
>>97123270I always like orange and/or ochre Goliaths.
>>97109898https://gofile.io/d/0puHqMNot the best quality but I ended up finding a scan
Oh wow, new Necromunda "lore" is literally Saturday morning cartoon. Helwmar (the fat fuck) is back, thanks to the writer's "OC Waif" Heara, who got all the glory, and Kal, who got cucked (because he's not the writer's OC) and fled back to the shithole underhive. Ozostium got his ass beat but not killed, and fled just like cartoon villain. Everything back to square one, nothing happen. A total waste of fucking time. Oh no I totally didn't see that coming.
>>97124470And the next book will be the "final" campaign book
>>97124470a) Kal's a worthless character and we would all be better off if he was never touched again.b) plotline advancelets almost always have bad desires, so I'm not going to cry any tears after hearing that one of them is bigly disappointed the Ozosty didn't resurrect undead Sanguinius and start a breakaway empire or whatever. We want the Necromunda setting to stay the Necromunda setting, mostly.
>>971223371988 is a bit of a mess AT18 IMis fucking excellent. Just keep in mind the olde rulebook has had years of FAQs which change a lot, the cards are now very out of date.I would recommend if you want to play using an app to run the terminal management (titerminal, Titan Toolbox) as the new paper thin terminals are shit (the originals were glorious CCP cardboard and GW won't ever do those again because of Brexit). Plenty of bundles now (all packaged as Legions Imperialis) it's never been cheaper to start. The box in your picture is a good starting point, also look for the LI Titan Legion Titan Battle group (it's a Warlord, a Reaver, and two warhounds, basically a 1.25k legio in a box). Plenty of third battle weapon support as well. Also: MAGNETIZE THE FUCKING WEAPONS.It's the best currently supported GW game
>>97124470Got a link
>>97124470I mean what did you think would happen. Changing the status quo is anathema to boxed board games
Is the computer game Necromunda still getting updates? I was thinking of buying it just to see how it feels to play the game
>>97124776It is completely unrelated to the tabletop game mechanics, if that's what you're after.
>>97124776No, it's been complete/abandoned for years, and the updates they did push out didn't fix it's most glaring issues. Its gameplay does not resemble the tabletop game and most of the time it doesn't "feel" like Necromunda, either. I would rate it like a 5/10, it's not completely without fun but it's thoroughly mediocre and a wasted effort.Their Mordheim game was much much better (it also differs from the tabletop, but to its benefit).
>>97108876Any update on how the league thing is going? I figure I would ask if you needed any more tips. One thing I recommend teaching are not only the rules, but also basic defense and offense lineups. Those really help people get into the mind set of certain teams in my opinion.
>>97124470I have no idea why the fuck they want to move the story in a setting.Like if you have a game set in WWI if you move the story you eventually will end WWI and will be left without a game and setting.WWII lasted for like 6 years and has been milked for contented for almost 80 years, and some how 40k run out of content in their setting set within 10k years.
>>97123270big fan of yellow goliaths. kinda like the box art escher scheme
>>97125216There's narrativefags and settingfags. Narrativefags have been in ascendancy for the last decade and a half. Probably because a setting requires you to use some of your own imagination to make use of it. It's easier to just consume and fry your dopamine receptors with the latest new thing and "happening". I'm not clowning on people who play narrative games instead of competetive ones. I'm talking about people who want a first person narrative or something thats close to a novel (or is a straight up novel) that makes the setting "progress". GW tends to treat their settings more and more like Marvel schlock. It's a far cry from the respectful treatment you could find in IA, which read like historical accounts. Munda's timelines and lore blurbs worked perfectly as it was.
>I'm talking about people who want a first person narrative or something thats close to a novel (or is a straight up novel) that makes the setting "progress".You can literally do that without having to rely on GW's latest slop-lore. That's what Necromunda is for. Narrative campaign revolving around smaller gangs that are of no significance to the planet as whole. I don't get what you mean by the word narrativefag when that's how Necromunda is supposed to be played. GW lore is just ass, that's the problem. The setting can be expanded in a tasteful way without interfering with people's creativity and making planet-wide changes that make no sense in the lore.
>>97125634You did not understand my post at all, which I am sorry for. The narrative I'm talking of is not your own made up narrative, but a focus on an offical narrative made by gw. Instead of focusing on the setting, they focus on a narrative within the setting that moves things forward. There have always been people within the hobby who prefers the setting to move forward in a narrative, while another faction prefers the setting to remain a somewhat static setting where we can build our own narratives without much interuption.
Any pdfs of the recent spike magazines?
Anybody got the 2023 core necromunda rulebook?
>>97122484You'd mostly be picking it up for fluff and maybe the narrative system, which was the biggest change with 2.0. Otherwise the core rules are mostly the same with some QoL updates in 2nd edition and the missions are mostly the same, the ones in 1st edition just tend to end a turn earlier. If you are interested in playing the 1st edition narrative campaigns, I highly recommend tracking down a copy of the Tome of Champions 2019 as it included the "Trial of Champions" campaign rules which add a bunch of elements to the campaign rules that actually make it feel like a proper narrative campaign - i.e., it adds proper resource management and a cost to hiring fighters, alongside a more fleshed-out injury table.
>>97126324Seconded.
>>97123270Yellow is always a good shout, especially if you're able to get some hazard stripes on there

thinking about getting into Mordheim there is a small group at my lgs that meets up every once in a while, & they said as long as you bring your own dudes, I can join them what are good miniatures? i picked up Pike & Shotte Landsknecht Missile Troops long with frostgrave ghost archipelago crew members would these guys be good or should I look into something else?
>>97128661Eh. It's Blood Bowl, as long as it looks good it's fine.
GW sent out a $20 voucher last week (iirc they were always $10 vouchers in the past?) so I got the Enforcer Weapons Upgrade for basically half price. It's the little victories.
>>97129572Those are fine if you want to play an Empire Mercenaries warband. If you want to play anything else Warhammer and AoS/Underworlds models will usually be superior to any other models you can find.
>>97129572idk if they still make the free guild spearmen and handgunners for aos but when my friends and I got into mordheim that and old free company militia recasts were what we used to put together our warbands
>>97130961They're still around as Old World models, but are sold in quantities very unsuitable for building Mordheim warbands (even if you want to have extra models/loadouts for different campaigns). Also he said he already "picked up" the kits he listed, so there's no point buying yet more Empire models. He can use what he has unless he wants to try another warband.
>>97122896In NYC there are Italians, Jews and Irish. These are Clan Houses. Down in the streets, there are Cosa Nostra, The Bugsy and Meyer Mob, and the White Hand Gang, which are hard-core gangs drawn from these populations. The gangs alternate between preying on their Clans (drug dealing, recruitment, protection rackets), defending their Clan ( fightjng off encroaching gangs from other Clans) and carrying out the dirty work of the leaders of the Clan, under the table. You play one of these Gangs (The Hammer Boyz) drawn from a Clan (Goliath)
For a free hand suit the weapon choice is ass. Oh wait I can just give them anything I want, fuck u GW.
Does anyone know where I can find the tutorial missions for the last edition of Kill team?
Got a super fun game of MESBG (2018 edition) in tonight. Lothlorien vs Isengard. The Wood Elves were fighting to stop Saruman from freeing, and gaining control of, a powerful wraith from it's tomb in the shadows of the Grey Mountains.Wood Elf win, if only just. I managed to snatch victory from defeat in the final turn. This game also had one of the most badass moments of any MESBG matches I've played, with Orophin laying low an Isengard troll while on fire following a Flameburst from Saruman. He slew the troll before succumbing to the flames, like a legend lol
Does anybody know of some decent Orc or Skaven Man O War STLs? I can't find anything that suitably tickles my pickle
>>97132235no sure what you mean but maybe ask in the kill team thread. only thing coming to mind is the 2vs1 Apprehend the Prisoner mission. you can google it easy, its on reddit and other places.
Is it me or are genestealer Cults OP in Necromunda?Like yea they don't have juvies but their gangers all can access skills for free instead of needing a promotion and have immediate access to stuff like abominants and champions with higher stats than average
>>97136775GSC champ only have 1 woundThey were written before the universal revise to gangs, and never get any update. Even their powers are outdated and can be broken because it didn't need LOS, while the updated version of the same power required it.And yes they're very OP with familiar spam, even ganger can get familiar. So they're constantly bouncing between completely shit to broken.
>>97136775>>97136836lmao neither of you even mentioned the most OP thing about them, which is that every new ganger can have a special weapon after the first game.Familiar spam is the next most abusable thing. They are in a weird spot where if you play them gentlemanly (no extra special weapons, a limit of ~3 familiars and only one familiar per character) they are on the low end of the power rankings, due to champ wounds and not having any extensive special faction rules. But if you play them ruthlessly they can be broken because they are from an earlier paradigm of the game and evade a bunch of contemporary restrictions.
>>97136775damn fragile but can get quite the hilarious stuff yea. happens with outdated rules. minmaxing them makes then to costly glascannons. Real problems in campaigns.
>>97136876>lmao neither of you even mentioned the most OP thing about themIt's in the "universal revise to gangs"And that's assuming they didn't get absolutely fucked by medical escort. Yes I was aware of this "very OP" trait of them, i even remember you were asking this question like 2 months ago. If you got spare credit and you want to be the most OP, you'd be better off stacking Familiars.
>>97136775>>97136836>>97136876>>97136952>>97137025one of the reasons necromunda is mostly casual players. minmax guys get no one to play with.
>>97125318GW would like you to know that painting their miniatures the wrong color is damaging to their brand image and they will sue you for posting images of such.(FYI this actually has legal precedence in Canada and the USA as John Deere sued customers for painting their equipment the wrong color for brand image damage and John Deere won, so this can actually happen if GW realizes it's an option)
>>97137549Tractors aren't given to you unpainted. It's still dumb
>>97137549What kind of customer? What i know from articles about farmers is that there are different contracts possible. Most are leasing them. Than there is a loan based buying. They buy them but the companies own bank gives them the loan.So if this was this way than they cant paint them till they paid the loan.
>>97137903the case was buddy bought a john deere tractor and painted his other equipment to match and they sued him for painting that stuff in their colors and won.So it's kind of opposite, but it's the same legal battle and john deere would notice and help GW to protect their precedent.Same way john deere is the reason cellphone/laptop right to repair got fucked.JD has more corpolegal dickswing than Apple and GW combined.
Someone toss me a scan of the Spitewood rulebook plz and thank you love you anons you're very handsome
>>97137193I had a minmax guy join the campaign I was in and it ended very quickly after that.
>>97137193>>97139241Minmax guys probably suffer from spending too much time online talking about the game instead of getting to play it, so they've theory tweaked to perfection just looking to get their gaming fix
>>97139166I... I completely fucking forgot this was a thing.
>>97138519See >>97138700It was about the guy painting other equipment he already owned to be green and yellow. That is not allowed, if you want a farm full of green and yellow equipment you are legally required to buy that equipment from John Deere, anything painted in those colors that is not John Deere is damage to the brand of John Deere. It would be very easy to get through the court that buying GW product and painting it in a way that is not conducive to GW brand recognition is damage to the GW brand and not permissible.
>>97139967I think you are full of shit until you produce a case reference. The only instance I could find was a distributer painting their stuff in trademarked colors which is obviously a violation. A private farmer painting his stuff for his own private use would not be a problem. Prove me wrong, I would love to see the case.
>>97139241>>97139434they often just like winning an don't care much about storybuildiung and goofing of. also if no one wants to play with them because of that they have nothing better to do than flip the books.
Damn it, I want that stupid Generatorium Hub in the made-to-order. It's such a good piece for Necromunda. It's gonna be like $100.The Mechanicus Minoris set is also cute scatter, but the price is probably going to be even more nuts.
>>97141281All their prices are so ridiculous. Just a few years ago you could get the crane in a set with six shipping containers for 80 bucks.
>>97141651GW charges some local store 20% for online only order, which are those terrains and warcry shits. It's pretty much 3d print for terrain now if you're broke.
>>97136836Wait, they didn't get revised in book of desolation to go along with the malstrain rules?
>>97141664Malstrain and GSC are completely different things. The guy who wrote Book of Desolation probably hasn't even read book of perils yet. Necromunda is not a collaborative, passion project, it's multiple dudes being told by GW to made up some shit for releases before X days.
>>97141684What has Book of Perils to do with GSC? It's stated time and time again that purestrain GSC are not the same as Malstrains. The Hive Secundus box is in a strange place where it's not actually Necromunda proper, but a warhammer quest-like box that's called a "Zone Necromunda Game", the Book of Desolation then makes the content available to regular 'munda along with the new resin stuff. Malstrains are explicitly said to work best in that campaign only and that it should be up to the arb if they're to be allowed in other campaigns. I'd say that necromunda is as close to a passion project as you'll get from nu-GW. It's obvious when you see the sculpts.
>>97142028GSC was actually in Book of Ruins but the point is no one cares enough to even bother updating them to current rule. And yeah anyone who look at the Malstrain kit would know that no one who actually play the game would design this kit. The decade old Genestealer kits has weapon options, the new one has 0.The rest of your essay is irrelevant. and the splintered cult on Necromunda do not have Genestealers.
>>97142045>passion project box is released >is not counted as a passion project due to it not updating the rules for a different gang that's not related to itThe simple truth is that neither GSC nor Helot Cults are real necromunda gangs. I'm happy they exist. I've played them both. But their rules are an obvious afterthought and they don't have "official" necromunda rules. Malstrains are a passion project. Someone really wanted to do them. But they're mainly for one campaign and a self contained "side game"
>>97142097There're certainly passionate people at the Necromunda team, passion for crack cocaine. Right now people just hope whatever hallucinations they had for the next release is what they wanted, and GW don't care, as long as shits sold."Side game" or "one campaign" are not excuses for the kits and the rules being half asses. Don't you just hate it when you go to the food stall and the cook told you " err breakfast isn't important according to me so you will be served sloppier food than lunch and dinner, all the same price"
>>97142153>>97142097Lots of gangs were half assed at the start. enforcers, ironheads, nomads, all cults. some got more fleshed out with time some did not or not to much. (mostly because necromunda original or not ...GW whatever nonsense). malstrain are, you like em or not but I THINK they feel more like an npc gang.
>>97142153Considering the chef is GW, I'm happy it's just slop and not liquid diarrhea
>>97142197Well, yeah. Malstrains are needed as NPCs in the Underhells campaign
>>97142223Yea i know and they are mainly just that in my mind, nice they made them playable besides that but...
>>97142097There's gonna be a "book of cults", I can feel it
>>97142287Considering how much they assfucked badzone enforcers. If they make a cult book I expect it to suck ass.The Venator gang being fun to use was an accident.
>>97142197>enforcers, ironheads, nomadsActually these gang kits are perfectly acceptable from okayish to pretty decent, even the cramped Corpse Grinder Cult have weapon options and left over. And they have more weapon in their list that hasn't released at the time of their releases too. They are way better than the Malstrain. And people are willing to play sub-par gang as long as the kits are good enough and provide them with some converting opportunity.
>>97142287Nope. not if they do not get necromunda only models. GW seperates games systems as much as they can now.>>97142375i did not say they are on the same level. just not full gangs. there are people that like malstrain as well so YOU might not like how they are (and i agree the kit is turning me off as well but i hate 40k "purestrain"genestealer too so i am biased)
>>9714277240k Genestealers are great, you can swap the arms around to have different swiping motion, There're no scything talon like the old one but there're still optional head. Like Head with big brain, toxic sac, or a spitter tongue. It's absolutely better than the Malstrain.
>>97142794wait nu-genestealers have no scything talons? what the fuck? That seems way more iconic than toxin sacs.
>>97142805Newer kits are going out of their way to make older kits not compatible.
>>97142794the old one yes (stil hate the unit) the new one... only head options. and mostly this fixed position bs like all newer gw kits
>>97142205>I'm happy it's just slop and not liquid diarrheaThe most discerning GW fan.
>>97142805>>97142827GW gave them the absolute best budget for an infantry kit: 3 sprues. There're less fortunate kits out there that could use an extra sprue but didn't get one, like the Aberrants, or the 2021 Ork Boyz. Only ways to make more space for the kit is to remove the 10 Ymgarl heads and the 10 carapace shoulders
>>97142921I will accept this
Anyone got a good quality of the Rise of Angmar book? The scan I found online is poo quality.
>>97142805>>97142921Honestly makes some sense that they cut (heh) the Scything Talons out. It does feel redundant to have a deadly melee upgrade for a unit that's already supposed to have deadly melee, like, "slices through Terminator armor as a hot knife cuts apart butter," deadly. You can bet they thought about it though. The sprue is already packed, it would either be Ymgarl heads or Scything Talons.>>97142827Eh. Each of the limbs have their own sockets. It would take just a tiny bit of kitbashing to swap them around, repose them.I think the limbs being in one peace, pre-formed sockets makes from a tabletop perspective. With plastic glue, those sockets would be rock solid. The old genestealer models were absolutely INFAMOUS for turning into barrels of monkeys with long limbs and tiny bases. Players and model builders would just knock off anything with a weak connection.I dunno, I just love looking at plastic sprue design from model companies, wondering what decisions and compromises were made, seeing clever engineering decisions and where extra bits could be added in. (Some of the big new Necron kits have tiny little scarabs on the sprue that have no set location on the model)
>>97145919I think it's going to be a long time before GW does anything that's as much of a kit engineering flex as the plastic Lictor.
>>97142287There is a possibility that Chaos Cults get their own book, but GSC won't get a full book release unless they are willing to do actual Necromunda kits for GSC. Which is something they really don't seem willing to do. Whereas a new Chaos Cults book could just be 1-2 Helot kits to expand on the CGC range and act as good excuse to update CGC and Helots. GSC though are more likely to get the PDF treatment again akin to Venators which like GSC started life as a PDF roster, then were thrown in a book, and are back to PDF now.
>>97145919>old genestealer models were absolutely INFAMOUS for turning into barrels of monkeysThose ball joints are way sturdier and elegant than Van Saar's "genius" modular gun parts. Nothing scream "first day at making plastic kit" than these guys with paper thin connect point, with detail that'll be ruined by overspilled and pressed.
>>97147911This is why I stay away from Van Saar kits. Stupid design
>>97117467I have names for the individual orcs, not for the warband as a whole. First painted one.
>>97147911Those connections might look flimsy buy they are surprisingly not. Only really becomes a pain if you are trying to stick custom printed bits to them but even then that becomes more of an alignment issue that adhesion itself.
>>97148233>Those connections might look flimsy buy they are surprisingly notYes they are i've assembled them. There're alignment issue with GW bits too, it's pretty much an OCD induced procedure to check if they have aligned straight or not, especially the 2 handed gun.
>>97148275I didn't find them flimsy when assembling mine. The only one I think I had issues with when it came to alignment was with the melta from the accessory sprue, but I am pretty sure that GW out and out labelled the wrong upper arm part to use for that which made the problem. But we can certainly have different standards for flimsy which would explain the difference. They are still a cakewalk compared to the bastard that is the Spyrer sprues though.
>>97148320These? These are baby assembly, I made 2 and found them boring. No OCD test. I even chop off all the claw and replaced it with the claws from CSM.
>>97148374So you chopped off the flimsy part and replaced it with a CSM chonker, and therefore the kit has no flimsy parts?I swear this retarded eurocuck that's always in here talking confidently wrongly about Necromunda is the dumbest dude on /tg/The Van Saar connections points are not flimsy if you're using cement and not superglue. The alignment issue is real, however.
>>97148647>So you chopped off the flimsy part and replaced it with a CSM chonker, and therefore the kit has no flimsy parts? No you retarded ape, the claws didn't have paper thin connection, it's connect by the large tube at the wrist. It didn't even have any circuit details like Van Saar you can literally apply more cement into itLike a retarded ape you can't accept the fact that you are a noob and resort to call me retarded instead.
>>97148697Wrong again, Hans Alejandro Ivan Guillaume. Your own picture betrays you lol!!! There is no "large tube at the wrist."Beyond that, the Yeld wings in that kit were also an annoyance, since they have no alignment keyed into them whatsoever.
>>97148740I meant this thing, it's a lot more secured than the Van Saar circuit board connection. Did you actually assemble it?
>>97148781>>97148740
>>97148740He is also ignoring the Monosword which has a poorly designed attachment point. There are also some very small bits on those models that need specific orientation, like the power modules on the back. Interesting kits but a pain to deal with.
>>97148781It has slightly better seating than the VS weapons, but not so much as it wouldn't be considered flimsy by the lay man.
>>97148781Yes, I have assembled 3 boxes of VS and both Spyrer box.>>97148796Agreed. Beyond that, "flimsy" refers to the final perfectly-assembled model as much as it does to specific parts and joins. When Spyrers are all put together they are still flimsy. If you snag them on something or knock them off a table your heart will drop. VS guns are not flimsy after being put together. They are annoying af, but not flimsy. The new Ash Waste's Nomad bug was also a nightmare to put together (all the legs and wings and mouth parts). The robo-dogs in the Enforcers Captain & Sergeants box also had some shitty components (the back legs had no alignment keys iirc). Someone on the SDS sculpting team likes to include very ambitiou, finicky design features.
>>97148829The funny part is that the most flimsy part on the VS kits is the brain spike, and that is largely based upon positioning, whether you glued extra contact points to the model, and how cemented you made the connection at the head. If anything is coming off the VS from casual use or just a drop it is those little fuckers. Oddly enough though you snip the contact points where it would meet the head, clip the talon off the malcadon fingers, and glue those brain spike bits to the finger connections on the malcadon arm and they make great toxin whips that are surprisingly secure despite what would appear to be a minimal contact surface.
>>97148829You've mistaken between a fragile, easily broken parts vs a weak connection. This isn't a discussion about "which bits is going to break apart when dropped". Your van saar gun are unlikely to break, but it will bend under less force that would normally break a fragile part. And unlike a fragile part, this wouldn't happen if the designer was experienced.>>97148796>He is also ignoring the Monosword which has a poorly designed attachment pointI did said I made 2/4 Spyrer, one is a Malcadon, the other is an "Orrus" that use 2 storm bolters. I did think the sword with a slit in a middle is a bad design, but I can't say because i never assemble it, I was expecting him to tell me about the sword problem, but he was dead set on the claw, which is actually baby easy to put together. And I highly doubted the sword would be "nightmarish" compare to aligning Van Saar gun."Just set it straight". It's not that simple, the gun has to be straight on 3 planes, and this is a problem because the badly design connection point, and you have to do this for every single one of them. How many Spyrers use monosword? Usually 0, but at most 2. How many Van Saar need to align their guns? Every single one of them.
>tfw bits are stuck in chinawell at least I can mess around with the bases
>>97149054>the gun has to be straight on 3 planesBuddy how? It is dead simple to build them. Literally gun rear + gun fore. You then glue the arm with the gun rear to the model and position it. Then glue on the gun fore arm if it has one. There should be absolute minimal readjustment required unless you are some sort of super sperg that can't into order of operations. The gun bit sit very simply due to the small seating peg, and the seam should dry near instantly unless you are flooding the contact space with plastic glue. If for some reason it needs time to dry solid you can just lay the two gun bits down after it has dried enough to hold shape and they will be fine. I've built over 30+ VS models and never run into these issues you are having outside of one instance with a special weapon because GW mislabelled the instructions. And that includes having to super glue printed bits to the same joins without the guide peg or quick drying of plastic glue.
>>97149113I suspect you probably have a few slightly bent guns when inspect at different angles, especially if you bring it to game. But I just take your words as all your VS are perfectly aligned.>And that includes having to super glue printed bits to the same joins without the guide peg or quick drying of plastic glue. Why didn't you just print a whole arm like these? Or just print the gun hand then attach to the wrist.
>>97149174None of my plastic guns are misaligned. It literally has a guide tab. The only way to screw it up is via user error. As for the printed bits it is because the bits come without arms and it isn't hard to attach them, it just requires precision unlike the plastic ones. Genuinely no idea how you can be a sperg and mess up the plastic VS gun bits.
>>97149188And I still had no idea how Spyrer is "nightmarish". And I've assembled this fucker, under time constraint.
>>97131532I don't get it. Can they take Spyrer weapons?
>>97149197You need more autism or less autism anon, I am unsure which. But I hope you get better, or at least struggle less when it comes to shapes.
>>97149217No. Only what you see in that page. They have the projectors and 2 claws by default. Then they can take up to 2 weapons from those 4 listed. That is it.
>>97149217>Can they take Spyrer weapons? They already had their weapons : medusian projectors and claws. But they also come with a pair of functioning hands, allowing them to take any weapons, but the rule only allow them to take 4. Which is stupid.
>>97149233Idk man, so far your struggle with Spyrer seem to be making the Yeld wings symmetrical, because no pegs, which really puzzled me.
>>97149245Brother you can't put together simple 2 piece VS weapons. You didn't even build all the Spyrers. Your opinion carries negative weight. So much so I would even take Goonhammer's opinion over yours, which says something considering how much of a knuckle dragger one would have to be to listen to Goonhammer when it comes to anything.
>>97149256And you haven't told me a single legitimate reason why Spyrer is such "nightmarish" to put together. I could easily said the same thing about you with the Spyrers.
>>97149054>This isn't a discussion about "which bits is going to break apart when dropped".The conversation is about the words "flimsy" and "sturdy." You're suffering the ESL debuff, João Aatu Andrzej Fracassini. The VS guns are not fragile or flimsy. If you know how to properly use plastic cement they will be rock solid after building. You can throw them at a brick wall and they will not bend. You ARE correct that it's a retarded design that will cause lazy, hasty, or jittery people to misalign pieces. There are only two planes to worry about, though, not three.
>>97149288>The conversation is about the words "flimsy" and "sturdy."No, ape. Who the fuck discussing about words. It started with the genestealer old ball joint, to the VS paper thin joint. To you derailing about plastic bits being broken because you dropped it, which is irrelevant to the discussion>You can throw them at a brick wall and they will not bend.Seem legit.
>>97149266You are struggling with bits that have 2 perpendicular contact surfaces and a guide tab. You genuinely have to put effort into screwing up joining the VS weapons. There is no explanation I could give for the Spyrer kits that you would be able to comprehend if you cannot work out how simply the VS weapons go together.
>>97149315Still no reason given. Very nightmarish indeed.
>>97149310>No, ape. Who the fuck discussing about words. Can someone translate?
>>97149310No, you're just not smart enough to follow the conversation.Someone said old Genestealers were like "a barrel of monkeys" which was a reference to a children's game that you misinterpreted. I know you didn't get to play games as a child, because you had to mine coal. And I'm sorry about that. But my empathy doesn't change the fact that you bungled the reference and responded to it to say "old Genestealer ball joints were sturdier than Van Saar guns."Sturdy is a word that usually refers to stable object, or parts of an object. Not the process of assembling an object. Someone replied to you and said "VS guns aren't flimsy" and then we've had multiple posts on that topic since then. Flimsy also refers to the same thing; it is an antonym of sturdy.
>>97149324Ape mad, ape out of thing to say.
>>97149335>"old Genestealer ball joints were sturdier than Van Saar guns."Yes I can confidently throw a Genestealer at a brick wall and the arm would not fall off.
>>97149239>>97149237Well, that's dumb. I mean, what's the point? The Sthenian looses one W and A over a Sovereign for one I and significantly worse weapons. Medusian projectors are absolute dogshit and the crab claws are at most okay-ish as powerpack weapons, while the weapon options are mostly meh. Naga blade or venom whip are so hilariously better it's not even remotely close.
>>97149371No idea, it is indeed a weird inclusion for the book as usually the stuff in these books coincides with a model kit release. And that suit already has a resin model but it is a character in Book of Desolation. My only guess is that there might be a plastic kit coming for it, and maybe another Spyrer kit that has the alternative weapons for the basic Spyrers in it. I mean if they did this new Squat kit that covered all their missing options from the kit this long after Halls of the Ancients then the missing Spyrer stuff isn't off the table either.
>>97149371Can't compare to Sovereign because Sthenian can't be leader. At max loadout it's similar in cost to Orrus, but lacking the shooting skill access, so bringing 2 pistols for them isn't as memeable as Orrus. If you house rule them to take any weapons worth of 2 slots, it'll be the most fun Spyrer rigs to build and play. Even the modeling tips say so.
>>97149383>And that suit already has a resin model but it is a character in Book of Desolation.I think that's because Lady Haera is basically a spyrer character that can't be taken with spyrers, which feels wrong, so this is the closest you get to the actual thing.Plastic seems *very* unlikely though.
>>97149422Ah yeah, that is actually a fair point I have overlooked. That being said I still don't think a plastic kit is off the table entirely. Especially with the Spyrer kits missing weapon options which seems to go against current GW mentality. Guess we will see in time.
>>97149393Wait, you are right! The Stehnian is a bog-standard spyrer, not a leader option; I read that wrong. That's even worse! With two weapons that's as much as a fucking Orrus for being worse at basically everything. Jesus.
Anyone have the Tribes of the Wastelands pdf?
>>97149437>Especially with the Spyrer kits missing weapon options which seems to go against current GW mentality.Newcromunda has always been exempt from this, thankfully.

>>97149783Much appreciated, love.
>>97149685>>97149783Mind sharing Bastion of Law while you're already being awesome?
What is the point of these? They're total dogshit on the table, the benefit is meh and visually they don't even share anything with Enforcers.
>>97149798https://litter.catbox.moe/4557h0xapqb4eyy6.pdf
>>97149811More fodders for conversion. Why? They just made whatever the fuck they want, GW doesn't care as long as it's selling.
>>97149811They dont share anything visually with the enforcers because they arent enforcers lol, you wouldnt expect a judge to look and dress like a guncop would you?>running something because its "good" rather because you think the model is coolShameful
>>97149811they be cute
Is there any updated version of Mordheim that's commonly considered the 'best'? I'm looking for just a 'bug-fixed' version without major changes to the game itself, kinda like Warmaster Revolution except for Mordheim.
>>97149836>You don't expect the law enforcement to dress like cops.Well, not the judge and probably not the executioner, I guess, but the bailiffs for sure. And that's generously ignoring the fact that this is a miniature game and visual cohesion is a thing. And these guys look like wealthy Cawdor, no Palanites, to be honest.
>>97149947None of the delegations share visual cohesion with a gang, and it would be stupid if they did.
>>97150099True, but like anon said they look like a Ministorum thing than an Enforcer thing.Mostly because the in universe judge jury and executioner already have a define style in the form of the Adeptus Arbites.
>>97149947They are not Palanite Enforcers that's why they look nothing like Palanite Enforcers you dumbass. The word Palanite doesn't imply they're Palanite Enforcers.
>>97150099Why would it be stupid?
>>97149813Thank you anon.
>>97149811Someone had an idea and they went with it. It actually seems like the rumors were true about injection molds becoming cheaper to produce
>>97150775Fuck yeah make everything in plastic.
>>97150775>injection molds becoming cheaper to producewhen you can 3d print a master and lostwax a mold instead of milling it from a block, yeah it's way cheaper.
>>97150775They where never expensive.
Mordheim Chuds - how much of a pain in the ass is it to have models mixed and matched with 20 and 25mm bases? Adding a couple of henchmen from my ToW army I don't want to rebase
>>97151076Ive barely run into any issues with my whfb8th size bases in ToW itself, were base size actually matters somewhat, so im sure it'll be fine. That said it would rustle my jimmies to see mooks on larger bases than leaders, so dont do that.
>>97150893Cool, they don't do that at GW, though.
>>97151076Completely fine/no pain at all
>>97151288Yes they do, just look at the print lines on forgeworld stuff.GW is getting into 3D printing, just slowly and quietly in-house and there isn't really another way to cheapen their manufacture.
>>97151453Because Forgeworld stuff famously comes on plastic sprues?
>>97151571That's irrelevant, like your opinions.
>>97149893There have been several attempts but not a single one has wide community adoption.>>97151076It's a complete non-issue, you'll be fine.
>>97149670Yes, and it wasn't uncommon for something to be missing from the kits that has an option in the books. Though most of the time it was covered with a resin model of some kind. However with the recent Squat kit it seems like they are plugging gaps or are willing to do so well after initial release. Hence why I think that it is entirely possible Spyrers might have another box coming to cover the alternative weapons.
>>97150775The whole injection mold system has been comparatively cheap to produce for something like a decade or more. GW's issue when it came to production of miniatures was a physical production capacity bottleneck because they have so many different things they make and only so many sites and man hours to do it in. They were apparently getting another site up and running and if that is the case that would be what explains more stuff begin pumped out.
>>97151453GW only uses 3D printing for their studio models and FW masters as those are silicon casting. The molds are designed in house and the files sent to china for CNC milling. If they are going to clean up that step for the sort of manufacturing scale they work with it would be to get that CNC milling in house or at least onshore. The only alternative method I could see them potentially embracing at some point would be a move from how they do FW stuff to some sort of siocast like system, but that isn't really necessary for the sort of volume they do for the resin models.
>play first game of munda to see how it was before the campaign>goliaths vs my venators>made his roided out stimmer insane on the first time bc it had infiltrate and was basically right next to me>his leader murdered my ogryn champ but not before he got set on fire and spent the rest of the game trying to put it out>my beastmen just all lost in combat bc they couldn't get any hits>my grenade launcher failed 2 ammo checks and only ever managed to kill one of my own guys>opponent just voluntarily bottled bc his champs were close to dying since it would've made the most sense if we were playing a campaign>his stimmer walked out with 4xp for knocking out a friendly dudehallucinations seems very powerful and breaks the game but I have no clue how I would've dealt with any of his melee guys since he had nerves of steel on everyone besides the stimmermight just take terrify instead for the actual campaign
>>97154638>his stimmer walked out with 4xp for knocking out a friendly dudeUnless that XP was specifically given via a scenario rule then you don't actually get XP for friendly fire. The XP for Serious Injury or OOA is only for doing so to enemy fighters. See Page 148 in Core23.
>>97154638Naturally you can write it off as chain of unlucky events but in case you don't, get a +1 to hit CC weapon for the Beastman, and change your dice.
>>97154638That's Necromunda basically. There are always going to be situations that you can't do much about or the dice screw you. In general it is also impossible to play in a manner that leaves you completely unscathed and sometimes it is just going to be the case that you have to make sacrificial moves. If he has good melee then you can block/bait him with a sacrificial model that will leave his fighter out in the open or vulnerable to a counter-charge from friendly models. You can also try and pressure his choice of activations by doing something where he is stuck picking one activation over another leaving at least one in the lurch to get shot/charged etc. But even if you know your tactics, strengths, his weaknesses, etc, there are no guarantees in this game and all you are doing is stacking probability which sometimes will just decide today is not your day. Which is why it is a game that one avoids taking too seriously.
>>97154770we ruled it that, because the insanity result causes him to be treated as part of the enemy gang during his activation and that you give out injuries during the activation, he gets XP for causing injuries even against his buddiesI feel like it sort of balances out hallucinations in a little but it's still oppressive>>97154785I gave the beastmen chainswords but forgot it gave +1 to hit>>97154837yeah I get that the randomness and how "down and dirty" the gameplay is, I had a blast playing despite how shit my dice werethe thing with venators is that I don't really have sacrificial dudes unless I minmax a bunch of ratlings and that sounds gayI'll definitely swap out smoke grenades for photon flashes though
>>97154998>because the insanity result causes him to be treated as part of the enemy gang during his activationThat is a fair enough interpretation then. Just making sure that it wasn't a core misunderstanding of the XP rules.
>>97154638>he had nerves of steel on everyone besides the stimmerThis is not in good taste
>>97154998It is less about having a designated sacrificial model, and more about choosing which has to play that role that day in that situation. Someone has to be the bait.
>>97155012something we didn't find a very clear interpretation was whether or not you get multiple xp for making multiple rally tests>>97155100ah, yeah that's what I was forced to do with my beastmen since I quickly realized 1 attack was actually quite bad
>>97155201You can the XP each time you Rally. Keeping in mind the model has to be Broken for that to count. It isn't just for preventing breaking, it is only you are Broken and recovered. So it isn't something that you can reliably farm since the model has to break and then recover.
>>97155242>You can the XPFuck me, swore I wrote 'get' there no can. I probably shouldn't be trying to post while at work.
>>97155242>>97155269yeah it was another thing to do with the insane statusif you get a 1 or 2 on the table then the model immediately becomes broken but also doesn't lose the insane statushis stimmer kept rolling 1s and 2s, making his cool check at the end of each turn and then getting broken again when he activated next turn
>>97155321The interaction is correct, it is probably one of the few instances where you can get Broken and Rally every turn. Though it isn't without risk since you only need to roll the 1-2 for the Insane roll whilst already Broken and they will flee the battlefield. So if he was just lucky enough to farm a bit of XP out of his Insanity then fair enough. But you do get the 1XP per each successful Rally test.
Dorfs!Shame they got hit so hard with the nerf bat in the new edition. Would have loved to see a points decrease for the death roller.
Anyone played cursed city? Is it any good. It certainly has nice models. Same with dark water.
>>97152657God you're stupid, Hans.So what recent advancement in the 5000+ year old field of lost-wax casting has allowed GW to start making their molds that way? Are they pouring molten steel in your retard fagfic, or do you think their moulds are now made of bronze?
>>97155843The general consensus for both is that they got boring really fast. Cursed City is the worst version of the reboot edition of Warhammer Quest Trilogy (Silver Tower, Blackstone, Cursed City), trying to fix what was broken in Blackstone Fortress but also introduced its own problem, and a severe lack of extra contents, as well as a really shitty "story" (seriously the story fucking suck)Dark Water revamped the game into an entirely new system, ditching the old cardboard tiles for the arena flip book, it's certainly less dungeon crawling and more arena fighting, basement crawling now. The rules are still too simplistic to provide any variety like character builds, and you don't have any extra characters to play as (yet), but don't expect GW to give lots of characters because both Blackstone and Cursed City got a stingy amount of extra characters, while Silver Tower bombarded you with tons of characters (because Silver Tower has different designer)Oh and Dark Water is overpriced.
>>97156007It is so stupid that they won't just reprint WHQ, or do a new TOW version of it. And it would be a fairly easy sort of game system to release expansions for that only need maybe 1-2 sprues to cover the model side of things. It is the simplest no brainer money maker they could do yet still refuse to for some reason.
>>97156157>reprint WHQ,Certainly an option >get a tow It wouldn’t be good either. Gw is about streamlining their games and making it similar to other popular products.
>>97156182I am more saying WHQ as is, but set in TOW so it aligns with their current IPs. With models updated accordingly. Because they wouldn't/can't just reprint WHQ95 without opening a can of worms in regards to Trademark stuff. Unfortunately they might even still have to make rules changes for it to get covered by current Trademark or copyright anyway. It is a scuffed situation of their own making which just means that any desire for a reprint/relaunch without current year molestation is mostly wishful thinking on our part.
Does my Mordheim list look okay? I’m only gonna be playing against my dad (Witch Hunters) so it doesn’t have to be competitive I just don’t want to get stomped>Outlaws of The Stirwood Forest>90pt Bandit Leader>Sword>Longbow>Shield>52pt Cleric (Prayer: Hearts of Steel)>Helmet>Shield>2 Daggers>120pt Champion>Longbow>Forest Cloak>Axe>Helmet>152pt 4 Marksmen>Bow>Club>86pt 2 Petty Thieves>Short Bow>Shield>Club>Helmet
How are Vespid for someone new to Kill Team?
>>97157267first there is a ktgsecond not that easy, being rather fragile but mobile but also need to move and have no big damage and communionpoints COMMUNIONPOINTS suck for new players, mostly because they forget them constantly.
>>97157267They are retarded, near sighted bugs that can't do most normal tasks and require a Tau hiding some where (that's you) mind controling them to circumvent their retardation. And the mind control resources is limited. They have mediocre shooting and their near sightness prevent them shooting at long range, unless you use the resource, their guns is good only when crit, and is complete ass when it didn't. Their melee on the other hand, is complete shit, but wait, they got shits that buff their melee, so it's mediocre overall. As you can see, it's a yolo team and not recommended for new players, but design wise it's a 10/10, really give you the experience of being a Tau babysit a bunch of retarded bugs.
Do I buy another box of goliaths or forge stimmer box?If I was going to get a 2nd box of goliaths I will probably buy the weapon kit + recast ash waste kit
>>97157421Buy Stimmer, should give you enough bodies for the whole campaign. If you are already buying recast get the out of print goliath resin weapon pack 1 and 2 , they got some nice stuff like a pair of left/right Bolt Pistol, all the combi weapons, chainsword and power axe. The plastic weapon pack is a bit on the meme side on weapon selections. Although Goliath really doesn't lacks compatible bits, space marine and CSM bits are plenty. There're also some stuffs that you might want to do like finding another Brute Cleaver bits from the Goliath box to make a dual wield brute cleaver fighters, kinda wasted to buy whole box just for 2 brute cleaver though.
>>97157453>Buy weapon kit 1 and 2>have to buy two boxes of goliath gangersill stick with the stimmers for the moment; I already have too many models at the moment
>>97157421Unless you want them as a base for conversions 1 forge/stimmer box probably covers you for all your stimmer needs 2bh, theres probably not all that many loadouts you're going to give them.Id go for the 2nd box and get a bunch of recast heads and/or weapons for variety
>>97157473>>97157421Wait scratch that, I thought you had some stimmers already
>>97157476>>97157473i'll grab deal some stimmers
>>97127770>spikeBump de bump.
>>97156306Someone seemed to manage to reprint HeroQuest just fine and that has far more legal issues given it was a joint production. WHQ was produced under GW 100% in-house, there's no trademark issues.
>>97155970You're the idiot if you think they aren't using 3D printing to cut costs when evidence has even been supplied proving they do so ITT before.
It's a Newcromunda Hives of Blood game, and you have an opportunity to mix any two houses of the present in order to represent a house of the past.Which two houses do you mix? What is the name of the house of old, and what is within its purview?
>>97158517Get a life, faggot.
>>97156306>have to make rules changes for it to get covered by current Trademark or copyright anywayThank you for your admission that you know absolutely fuck all of what you speak.Game rules are not subject to trademark or copyright, too many game companies hve tried going to court to sue over exactly that and the precedent has been unquestionably established. But if you were in any way remotely qualified to chip your opinion into this subject you would know that.So... STFU
>>97133033Sick. Just getting into MESBG and bought the latest starter. Can't wait to put them together and play with my mates. No clue what army I'll build later on though
>>97158517I'd perhaps mix orlocks and escher to represent the Eschaki at a point before all the would-be escher men turned into decrepit shits
>>97157472How can you be so physically weak? This video is just insane
>>97160378Because despite what modern activists might tell you, women and men are actually built quite differently
>>97157472Would.
>>97160378It's incredible to see a woman lifting anything other than just the bar
>>97158944>No clue what army I'll build later on thoughI've always been a wood elf boy so I'm currently playing Lothlorien (see here my Galadriel I just finished, all that's left is to tidy up the base rim) but I am also building a Halls of Thranduil army since Mirkwood is my favourite part of both the book and the movies. The biggest problem with HoT though is the amount of finecast. Basic infantry, cavalry, captains, Mounted Legolas, Thrandaddy himself, it's everywhere T_T

Specialist chads, what are your top three specialist games?I'm relatively new to minis but have loved blood bowl. I'm thinking about branching out into MESBG, Mordheim or Necromunda
>>97161942MESBG, Battlefleet Gothic and I don't play a third GWSG.
>>97161942Mostly been working around Warcry, thinking about getting into warhammer quest 95.
>>97162016I really like WarCry.
>>97161942I'm a necromundacel and I have to say it's the most fun I've ever had playing a GW game, but I guess it all depends on what people are playing in your area
>>97161942I've had a lot of fun playing Necromunda but I was lucky to have a mostly good crowd for the whole thing. I'd really like to play Mordheim myself.
>>97161942I'd recommend working out the player base availability before jumping into any of those. Best to make sure you can get games going, and whether you need to supply everything or not if you are going to play an older Specialist game (or ruleset).
>>97162240>and whether you need to supply everythingWait, that's not a given? Lucky you.
>>97162276I mean in regards to if they play an older Specialist game and need to supply both sides with models etc. Some times it is easy enough to find players, but only if you are going to provide everything to get them to play. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a friend group that has been playing these games since they were new releases.
>>97162336>I mean in regards to if they play an older Specialist game and need to supply both sides with models etc.So did I. I always assume that if I wanna start some OOP game I better plan for making/painting 2 forces plus any playing aids/special terrain/etc. the game needs. Having an existing local group is a welcome surprise, not something to be counted on.
>>97161942I love Necromunda, but I have a solid group of friends as a gaming group. I cant speak for the LGS scene.
>>97161942Does AoS Spearhead count? That game's fantastic.
>>97162030>>97162084>>97162583What's necromunda all about? And what are the pros and cons vs Mordheim? I've got a buddy I might be able to rope into Mord, and the public scene seems a little more lively where I am
>>97161942Great game and great core rules, made by nerd who knew all the aircraft's specification without Google. Unfortunately the new edition was written by an imbecile who clearly didn't give a shit about aviation and didn't even read the original rulebook, or do a 10 second google search to get the specification correct. This resulted in the worst ruleset ever written by GW in 20 years.
>>971619421. Mordheim - appeals most to my sensibilities in that it’s a fantasy setting, focused on small groups of models you can give individual character to and the hobby aspect emphasises making medieval/premodern urban terrain which I enjoy, it (and mesbg) are closer to the style of other, non GW games I like with low model counts2. Mesbg - my first ever tabletop game, the first models I ever painted and the game itself is pretty good, this is the one I have by far the most models for, also I’ve always liked the hobbit (the book) and lotr (the movies and the books)3. Warmaster - it achieves the feel of armies clashing a lot better than the original whfb, and also has much better rules
>>97162645They're both modeling projects with a fairly immersive ruleset to put your models into action. Even thought the rule has you roll and account for lots of thing, the gameplay is not complicated, the things you'll do is straightforward, you won't be racking your brains thinking 10 turns ahead.
>>97158511I didn't say a word about 3D printing, you pathetic retard. We are talking about your buffoonish claim that they use lost-wax casting to make their HIPs molds now, and that this has lowered the cost of making the molds. We are not talking about Forgeworld. We are not talking about 3D printing. We are not talking about your brain damage.Stay on topic; looking forward to your response.
>>97161942I love Warcry and Mordheim both, for entirely different reasons. 3rd favorite will depend on the day but probably Warmaster Revolution, it does army-scale conflict leagues better than any edition of WHFB.Kind of ironic choices actually, given I generally prefer 40k as a setting to their fantasy stuff.
when you guys name your gangers, do you give them serious names or just goofy shit?
>>97163880depends oh the planned campaign and other players.by default somewhat serious with a hint of goof and one goofy guy or sibling pair.
>>97163159>we are not talking about the thing we are talking about, we are now in ad hominem because I have no further argument but I must rageThat's you.
>>97160721Obviously. But you never see women that weak at the gym. Girls tend to be super conservative and never fail reps, it's always us dudes that go too heavy >>97160914It's pretty common seeing then doing half plate.>>97161010Lel>>97161942Necromunda and Warcry>>97163880Depends on the gang. There's normally a little bit of goofiness, but this next campaign they are having very silly names as it suits the gang.I am going to play Goliath after and give them names related to BBers or action stars and change them to be industry/mining related.E.g. Ronnie Coalman, Serge Nugget, Franco Colmbite
>>97164480>ames related to BBers or action starsi gave them pornostar names once but the more subtle once. goliath is the team best fitted for goofy names, after that corps grinders.
>>97161942Epic Armageddon, Blood Bowl, WarmasterI'm surprised that's not everybody's. skirmish games come and go, but nothin ever touches the greats
>>97164154Review the reply chain, retard.Somebody commented on the frequency of new plastic kits and those kits' seemingly irreverent design, and surmised that "rumors were true about injection molds becoming cheaper."You chimed in with a braindead comment about 3D printing masters for lost-wax molds. None of Games Workshop's INJECTION MOLDS are made that way. You were told that, and immediately pivoted to "print lines on Forgeworld stuff" but nobody was ever talking about Forgeworld stuff, they were talking about INJECTION MOLDS. This is probably where you realize your mistake and stubbornly doubled-down because you're a donkey. By the way, there's still no fucking lost-wax casting involved in FW products, they 3D print a master and use the same moldmaking techniques/materials they always have (silicone rubber etc.), because those are cheaper and easier than melting fucking bronze or steel.
>>97164480Most women dont attempt high RPE singles, her only mistake was not setting up the comborack properly
>>97163880Thematic. House Goliath is big into metal industry, so all my Goliaths have steelworking/ironworking/Blacksmithing derived nicknames (Bevel, Quench, Slag, etc.) Cawdor has the scavengy junk/ "I'm not worthy, muh Emperor" vibe, d they're all nameed after synonyms for garbage (Midden, Spilth, Jetsam). The Enforcers are named after TV cops. Its really all up to you and what you prefer. I will say this; my group has found that having the models name written on their base really helps speed up gameplay.
>>97164480>. Ronnie Coalman, Serge Nugget, Franco ColmbiteAbsolute top tier. Would plunder Hive with this anon
>>97163880I give them nicknames that matches their looks
>>97165275>Huge Cock>Big Erectionman>Blowjob Master>The Frotting Bastard>Reacharound Jr.>Gluestains
>>97163880Well my gangs all have some meme theme for example my enforces all have names of criminal cops and the gang name is from a cop squad from africa that was known for being particularly bad (AWKUZU SARS)
>>97165240>House Goliath is big into metal industry, so all my Goliaths have steelworking/ironworking/Blacksmithing derived nicknames (Bevel, Quench, Slag, etc.) Cawdor has the scavengy junk/ "I'm not worthy, muh Emperor" vibe, d they're all nameed after synonyms for garbage (Midden, Spilth, Jetsam).I love this kind of naming convention. Not cringe, not trying too hard, not unfunny, and doesn't feel non-diegetic. My last GSC gang was named after theological demons (Furfur, Bifrons, Wall, Gusion, Dantalion, etc.)>The Enforcers are named after TV cops. This probably gets a little too cringe for me. "Jimmy McNulty" and "Dennis Sipowicz" and shit just don't work as 40K names. If you scified them up a little it might be ok.The corny ass dad pun naming conventions are by far the worst, though. Like "Barack O'Blammer" and "Arnold Stallone" type deepcringe. If you're doing this, erase your roster and try again.
>>97162645Both are small scale skirmish games with lots of customization options for your models. They're not balanced for competitive games. Mordheim is IGYG and Necromunda is alternating activations, so personally I find Necromunda to be more fun to play, but in my experience, both games attract the same kind of player. It's often very relaxed and fun games where people stay away from exploiting stuff
>>97163880Depends. My bloodbowl team names range from goofy puns to more generic names that fit the theme. Same with necromunda. My gnome blood bowl team is the G-units, for example, and I named them after rappers but did gnome puns. G-diddy, tree unit, etc. I also like giving elaborate titles to some of my guys if they did something great or big in a game.
>>97165805listen here Sonny. The brave men in uniform dont care about your scummer opinionsNah. I kind of agree with you, but I cant think of any better names for the blueboys. the suggested alpha-numeric designations are hard to remember. They'll be tv coppers until I can think of abetter theme.
Brand new to Necromunda, looking into enforcers and was wondering if rules wise there is any difference between the shields the Subjugators have the ones from the upgrade sprue?
>>97166691first no clue, but they are just listed as assoult shields so i belive not, anywas this is necromunda, do not take these things so series.
>>97166691The one from upgrade sprue is the Riot Shield for non-subjugator enforcer, it's cheaper, and it provided the same protection against attacks like the subjugator shield, but Riot Shield is borderline useless in close combat while Subjugator shield can push people off the ledge or into environment.Generally you want to get shield for the armor buff that stack with undersuit, making you very tanky. Subjugator shield even with knockback is situational at best as close combat weapon.
Has anybody scanned and made a pdf of the new blood bowl rulebook yet?
Since /wfg/ doesn't seem to care, I'll post my shit here. So, I really wanted to have a dungeon crawler game in (classic) Warhammer setting, but WH Quest 95 is absurdly expensive on e-bay, so I decided to WFBy a Cursed City game. Therefore I bought a box without models and started to buy classic WFB models for the project. The only original models are bat swarms and vargskyr, since bats are fucking bats and vargskyr is basically a vargulf, which is pretty rare model and it's a fucking finecast.
>>97167982My first band of heroes. will probably buy a necromancer from TOW Empire range and swap with Nicodemus, since he looks more like Gandalf than a necromancer.
>>97167982>which is pretty rare model and it's a fucking finecastAyyy he is plastic now.
>>97167999Grave guards will work as CC skellies, two ogres will be zombified and work as Radukar's zombie bodyguards - and the little guy in the hood and robes will work as Torgillius.
>>97168007It's AoS model, hard to be placed on a square base because of his hand reaching far beyond the base. I want my models to be on square bases. Plus vargskyr was much cheaper - so it was a win-win for me.I also bought these models. Still waiting for a package tho'. They will work as ven Alten blood-born vampires. I need to find a third guy for the trio. Classic metal strigoi models will work as generic vyrkos blood-born.I will probably buy regular AoS zombies. Zombies are zombies. I will also use skaven rat-swarms as count-as zombie rats.
>>97168071why not just get warhammer fantasy zombie, it'll match your other model aesthetic, AoS zombie would look jarring with tombstone, branches and vines poking out of them.
>>97168108I may - if I find a good deal on e-bay. also, AoS zombies aren't overdesigned as much as original deadwalker zombies from Cursed City box.I'm tempted to buy this guy as one of the generic vyrkos tho'. cheap and readily available. Plus I like this guy.
>>97168153Classic Mannfred will work as Radukar most probably.I may consider remaking their cards to look like my minis instead of original ones.Well, that's all I have for today. What do you think?
>>97167982>vargskyr is basically a vargulf, which is pretty rare model and it's a fucking finecast. It was in metal first. That version might be even rarer, of course.
>>97168186Konrad or the Sartosan are both more interesting choices, imo. Or find the Mordheim Full Dracula somehow.>Well, that's all I have for today. What do you think? You're mentally ill for putting all that money and thought into a project where, at the end, your reward is having to play Cursed City. You should write your own game instead or something.
>>97168308>Konrad or the Sartosan are both more interesting choices, imo. Or find the Mordheim Full Dracula somehow.Oops I meant this for the third member of the trio, not Radukar
>>97168308>You're mentally ill for putting all that money and thought into a project where, at the end, your reward is having to play Cursed City.WHAT?! Grok told me it's a great idea! But seriously, I liked the tiles. Will also buy 3D prints of gates, doors, entries etc. And most importantly - I will use fan-made Cursed City rules instead of originals. I don't want to play a game I invented.
>>97168323This guy? Hmm, that's a pretty good idea. I kinda dislike Konrad tho'.
>>97168333https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/downloads/warhammer-quest-cursed-city/Cursed City also get extra heroes rules via GW free download.
>>97168369Yup, (classic) Gotrek is on my to buy list.
Good third party model makers for Mordheim warbands?
>>97162645I think they both have the same sort of setup though I haven't played Mordheim beyond flipping through the rules. Necromunda is a pretty great time so long as you have the right kind of crowd and I think it makes for a great vehicle to tell a story in the 40k universe.
>>97163880I like to follow a theme when namingmy guys, my gang is named after the cultist language from Blood.
>>97168308>at the end, your reward is having to play Cursed CityIs it really that bad?
I wish punga would have made a mining themed dwarf team instead of the aviator one. mining equipment as a deathroller would be kino.
I really want to take hallucinations on my venator leader, is giving the target a willpower check to ignore and requiring line of sight enough to balance it?
>>97170025Common Wyrd Power (not to be confused with gang exclusive power) are strong to overpower because of the Special Ability you get, basically a free skill, in your case it's Fearsome. You still need to pass your will check to successfully cast the power before they made their willpower check.Hallucination is more on the annoying side than broken, but still a very good power.Insane status for a long time is an almost broken, especially with the bullet merchant and warp ammunition allowed in the trading post. But was mostly just being extremely annoying because of the common work around, that is become a Chaos corrupted gang, which in turn make your whole gang immune to insane, but also ruined your gang for that campaign.TL:DR : It's fine on your leader. maybe give your Goliath friend some mercy every now and then.
>>97170253what powers would you say are broken then, because it feels like having at-will pseudo activation removal at worst and a free ganger for a turn at the best seems to be one of the best things you can do with an actionI think it's only beat out by the power that just freely allows you to choose the mission
>>97170370>what powers would you say are broken thenThe one that you can only mitigate or have no answer to. Chronomancy has the best special while Divination and Technomancy has overall best power with Weapon Jynx and Manipulate Lumen.I don't think 1 psyker with Insane affliction would be problematic enough to create a mass chaos corruption event that broke the whole campaign. I guess you can consider it broken based on the extreme annoyance and toxicity it can cause, especially in it RAW form. Insane is such a shittily written rule but at the same time, there're the solution that's also equally shitty, but in different way, so you can't really say it's completely broken, just borderline. It's probably best minimize fighter that can cause this status, and just stick to it being a bad roll from item usage or event. Stick to 1 insane afliction fighter amongs all gang in campaign, for your own good.
>>97170773those two powers just simply do not work against or actively help gangs like goliath or cgc tho
Any time you engage in a Necromunda discussion in this general and get back a smug, poorly-justified explanation from a person who misses multiple definite and indefinite articles, remember that we have a struggling Slavic retard here who thinks Specialist Games has their own model kit factory and possibly that GW has started using bronze-age casting tech to produce cheaper and more numerous plastic kits.
>>97163880Fairly goofy shit, all my goliaths have names like Max Roidrage or Stud Dudley. A silly game requires silly names
>>97171690the fact that grammar nazism is still the fallback when you can't make concise points to counter an argument is truly remarkable
>>97172547It is not grammar nazism, brainlet -- it's a comment on one of the ways to identify a repeat idiot poster based on the common difficulties they have going from their language family to English. I didn't even call him stupid for that, since all Slavs have trouble with it. He's stupid for other reasons.
>>97172630Lmao this chimp still butt hurt from shit happen weeks ago, that wasn't me who's talking about CNC molding and shit, I don't know anything and don't care about that. But anyway since you were so desperate, open your mouth waiting for my cum here's the (you).
