That's so lame. I'd rather it was like uhhhh what was it, back from the days of old 4chan. Where there was this cute little anime girl, and she kept being mistreated by scientists, then she got adopted, then those people were killed by scientists and she kept on being experimented by scientists, and then they left her out in a box to die, and then she died.

My point is it would've been funnier if the paladin stabbed the bullied kid.

>tfw ate up that kind of edgy shit at age 14 on /b/
>can't stomach it at all at age 33
I think teenagers have an innately higher capacity for edgyness. Maybe because there's some empathy center of the brain that doesn't activate until we reach child-rearing age.
>>
>>97136248
They're still developing. This doesn't necessarily mean they lack empathy at that age, just that their dipshit hormonal brains are still processing things. One of the ways that they do this is by exploring the kinds of ideas that they haven't already been exposed to a bunch. Teenagers are edgy when they didn't get to try being edgy before. Ideally, they get it out of their systems when they realize that being edgy doesn't do anything for them, but the terminally online and anonymous among them aren't learning this lesson, because they aren't getting reasonable feedback on their behavior that they can then internalize and use to move past the edginess.

This is to say, regular teenage 4channers from the mid-2000s still had more real-world exposure that eventually shifted their development than the youngsters these days might.

I dunno man, I re-read both of them as a consequence of this thread and it didn't bother me at all, because I was so intellectually detached from it (not in the sense of lah di dah I'm so smart, but in the sense that these are just lines on paper (or even glowing dots on a screen) and none of it is real and this person is just telling a particularly involved version of the Aristocrats). It becomes comical. I'm not gonna talk about it around the water cooler, but I can absolutely have a chuckle at it.

I feel quite the opposite, becoming increasingly desensitized as I grow older. Re-visiting things that stood out to me when the first saw them just doesn't hit the same. Which goes for both stuff I've seen over a decade ago (say, first run of Franken Fran) and more recent content (say, that toxic holocause yuri doujin, or pic related).
Mind you there's still limits and some things can still make me uneasy - but that boils down to very specific personal stuff. And I still find Happy Tree Friends distasteful.

movie plot
a grieving father buys a sexbot to resemble his missing daughter and programs her with some memories of his daughter it has no context for understanding. Then starts having sex with the daughterbot. There's even a scene where he sets her naked on the counter and removes her tongue and vagina for cleaning like a sex doll. Then the real daughter stops being missing. Then later it wanders off into the woods and ends up owned by a 70 year old woman and changed to resemble her brother who died tragically during childhood because of a squabble with her.

It's very dystopian, a slowburn movie about technology exploitation creating dependency and addiction causing people to be stuck in maladaptive loops of self-destructive desire-chasing and memory-agonizing resulting in doomed cycles.

i don't know any version of pinnochio where gepetto is fucking him on a nightly basis.

It's an 1883 italian book, it's not an ancient fairy tale like cinderella or rapunzel.

Carpenter tries to carve a log and it yelps. He gives it to a toymaker who makes a puppet out of it because he wants to become a traveling puppeteer. That's the original premise.

A lot of isn't even recommended bdsm terms.

X-card, safeword stuff is not something most people preach in bdsm play, because it's genuinely very unhelpful when compared to just free communication.

As in - if something hurts (in a bad way) you should just say that. If you think you're hurting someone (in a bad way) you should just ask them. Obviously it's easy to agree ahead of time if the girl wants you to keep going even if she's yelling "Stop Stop" and "Aw it hurts", and it's a hundred times more intuitive for her to say "No, wait, actually stop" compared to yelling banana or whatever the fuck.

And funnily enough, the exact same is true in rpg's, in as much as x-cards and shit just muddy communication and lead to confusion and drama compared to adults talking using words.
>>
>>97138251
I'm not saying I'm not a pussy, it's just funny how I was giga-edgy when I was in middle-school.

But then it's very much focused on media involving girls being hurt. I won't cry over a dog dying in a movie like some people will
>>
>>97138764
Could be overthinking it and it's a simple desentizising issue rather than anything to do with age or maturity.
Watched tons of gore and edgy shit as a kid, so didn't give a shit. Basically never seek that kind of stuff out as an adult with a family, so when I stumble on it online it hits like a truck.
>>
>>97142548
I'm pretty sure aftercare is still a part of the BDSM conversation unless things have changed radically in the past few years.
>>
>>97142172
>does it really require a lot of energy to interact with four other people for eight hours straight?

>safeword stuff is not something most people preach in bdsm play
safewords absolutely are the standard advice in bdsm
usually because it's easier to have an unambiguous codeword rather than trying to decipher if this particular objection is playful or real
>X-card
discussing limits, often by going through an actual list, is also common advice and widely practiced

I'm not saying whether these practices are good or bad, but you are objectively mistaken in asserting that they are unusual

An X-card is the exact opposite of discussing limits. You skip over that step and just point to a piece of paper wordlessly mid-play, hoping that the exact part that bothers you will get removed. That’s the whole problem. Going through a list is perfectly helpful.

Correct. The forces are not comparable. A mouse falling a few inches with some matches falling on it is not the same as a person falling several meters with logs falling on them. Things don't scale up like that. It's why an ant can lift ten to fifty times their own body weight while an elephant can lift only a fraction of their own body weight.

The cornerstone of sensible organized bdsm play is 'Safe, Sane and Consensual', but of course there's retards who do dumb shit and get hurt. Generally though, people take physical and psychological safety pretty seriously. If you ever try a bondage class, you'll be surprised how much time they spend just explaining how tight ropes can interfere with bloodflow and how important it is to be aware of anything going numb and such.

Do you seriously not have any idea how things behave differently at different scales? Their "house" is a one room plastic bottle, not several tons of bricks. If it isn't wedged in snow they can tip it back over just by moving around. It also hasn't collapsed into pieces because it's only designed to hold its weight in one orientation.
>>
>>97158356
>>>97155618
>If you want to use outliers as the measure sure.
Anon, you're replying to two different people and your reply has no relevance to my comment. My comment has nothing to do with turning a house on its edge. Neither is my comment an outlier, it is a statement of fact. While I hope you're not as stupid as the other dumb cunt who replied to it and failed to notice, all I did was rearrange the earlier post to state a fact about mice and then offer an opinion about "modern art".

Mice can survive uninjured falls from tremendous heights because their terminal velocity is a meagre 7 m/s compared to a human's 54 m/s and they have a more flexible skeleton able to absorb impact without permanent deformation better than a human's and able to extend the contact time for a lower deceleration, and being low mass have less kinetic energy to rearrange their internal organs.

They achieve their velocity over a distance of just 2.5 m. For impact energy it doesn't matter if a mouse falls from higher than 2.5 m because they don't get any faster so it's true that a mice can fall from the top of a skyscraper and be fine. If it lands on its nose or just one foot I wouldn't be surprised if it got a nose bleed or a broken toe but I didn't say it will be fine, just it can be fine, because it can.

Now do you want to make an issue out of this with your unnecessarily aggressive and entirely misdirected "is this really the hill?" question or has this been enough to show you your error and you'll take it on the chin like a man as an honest mistake on your part.

I think on a visual/artistic level they should have had the fire light flare up and stay lit at the end to illustrate the mice actually dying. I'm not here to argue mouse airspeeds but it just looks like a brief misfortune without a more serious ending. I watched Animals of Farthing Wood growing up. That show could sell a death, I tell you what.

Some mice can survive great falls. Some can't. Same for humans. If you can't kill a mouse with a shoe that's a you problem.
You flip your house on its side yet?
>>
>>97163204
Stop being a dumb cunt. Short enough for you?

>Anon you're being obtuse
No, that would be you. I've been perfectly clear in my point about mice surviving great heights. If you don't get the most rudimentary of physics and physiology, that's on you.

I also don't like much of what is called "modern art" but that's a different point.

>Some mice can survive great falls.
We're clearly talking about ordinary mice. All ordinary mice can survive falls from great heights because they don't gain any more speed after the first 2.5 m. No speed gain means no more kinetic energy gain means same degree of injury after 1000 metres as after 2.5 metres.

>Same for humans
Not even a little comparable. The odds of a human surviving let alone surviving uninjured from 12 m are vanishingly small. About half of fatal human falls occur at less than about 6 m. Humans can easily break bones and get fatal injuries, even as young healthy adults and healthy children, when falling onto the same level of ground they're standing on. They don't have to old with brittle bones, they don't have to running or skateboarding, just fall forward even onto a relatively soft surface like grass on dirt.

>>You flip your house on its side yet?

Yes anon, it's a cartoon. Very astute. I think the mildly humorous observation of "I mean they're mice, they can just flip their house over in the correct position" has been outshined somewhat by the guy refusing to understand that there's some inherent differences in the forces involved between a mouse falling from a rooftop and a 200lbs fa/tg/uy falling from a rooftop.
>>
>>97165230
>there's some inherent differences in the forces involved between a mouse falling from a rooftop and a 200lbs fa/tg/uy falling from a rooftop.
This has been debunked over 400 years ago, heavier items, including people, DO NOT fall faster because while they are subject to stronger gravitational pull, they also have more mass so that pull has harder time getting them to move downwards, these factors even out and things fall the same regardless of their size
