>>97134848>TQThe translated names for Hecas and Tunes are completely retarded and I'm convinced more than a few people have decided to not play the decks simply out of spite for Konami. As for their actual playability, I'm excited to try out Hecahands and Enneacraft because I like their gimmicks and at least their gonna be cheap. I'll try to experiment with Dogmatika Enneacraft because Enneacraft doesn't need the extra deck anyways, maybe I'll slap a Simultaneous Equation Cannon in the main deck for the lulz.
>>97135970I can understand the change for Hecas on a fundamental level since it's their anti-religion policy colliding with the fact that retards wouldn't be able to pronounce that shit. I don't like it but it at least has a reason for being that way. Whoever greenlit "Kewl Tune" needs to be taken out back and shot in the head though.

>>97141223Sounds like a cool basis for something like an ABC Springans build
>>97141223It makes sense since Regulus' effect doesn't overwrite the effect of the equipped monster, and the ABC cores are Union monsters that can unequip themselves. The only thing that occurs is that it converts the monster into an equip spell so it can legally occupy a S/T zone. Not a conclusion I'd immediately come to, but one that I can see pretty clearly.

>kewls are destroying genesyslmao what an absolute dumpster fire of a format
>>97142120>new release that has 0 native hits is doing well in a format that aims to nerf every deckHow long did it take you to figure that one out?
>>97142120It hasn't even been a week and isn't even fully globally released yet, shut the fuck up.Consider recency bias where people want to play something new so the representation is higher. It's unhit and not yet point adjusted for yet and next list is pretty soon iirc.Give it a chance to breathe at least even if that's only a week or before the next points list update. Would be nice if you could at least have a month and a half to play a new deck.
>>97142182>it's okay that format becomes unplayable for everyone not playing the latest deck for a few weeks after each new set releaseMight as well just play advanced at that point. Same experience with a few less hoops to jump through.
>>97142120What is it with you people that hate Genesys that want to make a mountain out of a molehill?>AHA! Look! This new deck that has 0 points allocated to it that completely ignores Pendulum and Link Monsters is broken! That means the whole format is unbalanced! No way... you're telling me that a deck that can currently afford to run 3 of every handtrap because it has 0 point allocated to it is doing well in a handtrap-light format? This has never happened before (K9VS) and most certainly will render the format completely unplayable forever (until the next point update, which was scheduled to be skipped last month with an announcement that it would be this month).>>97142215>Same experience with a few less hoops to jump through.Yeah right... except the decks in Genesys only run 2 (SOMETIMES 3) engines and a couple of handtraps, contrary to running upwards of 4 to 5 engines and up to 25 handtraps, where interruption that doesn't stun your opponent is virtually meaningless. I think I know which format I'd prefer.
>>97142215Your zoomer brain is so fucking fried that everything needs to be at instant gratification where you can never go unsatiated. You're fucking pathetic. Is a month and a half really too long for you to give a deck the spotlight? >>97142347>they can't play the new shinny cards immediately for a month or soAre you retarded because that's the opposite of what your position is. YOU want the changes NOW rather than being the patient party and seeing if it actually needs changes based on actual tournaments and less dependent on recency bias/new hype numbers. Also you reek of being a MD and digital only player where you see these types of hit-on-release cards in MD and you pre burn yourself out yourself on formats that haven't even had the cards released physically yet because you've opted into playing with all the cards for an extra up to 4 months ahead of time. The latter being a problem you make for yourself. Konami is not, and shouldn't, make the game around people who are pregaming the life out of a format months ahead of release.
>>97142763>Konami is not, and shouldn't, make the game around people who are pregaming the life out of a format months ahead of release.I disagree with you a little bit. Obviously you can't expect Konami to drop a point list half a month before cards are even globally available in the TCG, but either preemptively, or swiftly hitting a new release that they know will be problematic in the format would be fine. Their removal effects might not be as generic as The Fallen & The Virtuous, but that card ended up getting Branded smacked really hard for a lot less. One very obvious hit is going to be their ROTA, of course. It's a twice-per-turn search and twice-per-turn quick effect synchro summon. Ain't no way that one's coming out unscathed for all the legwork it does.
>>97142763How about konami does their job and does the playtesting for their own format instead? How about they actually put the effort into making a balanced format instead of just letting the (impatient) playerbase buy out all the boxes and figure it out themselves (as if it's not going to be the lasted overtuned deck, duh)?Just make the cut-off point for each point adjustment, it's that simple. Let people experiment on their own (including Konami employees) for a month before the cards become legal for tournaments. Currently the format is just "the newest deck wins", exactly the same as advanced. I actually want a lower-powered format, my issue is that genesys is not that, it's just advanced without links. And for konami it's just a way to offload product that's not doing well in advanced because "it might be good in genesys", and people eat it all up even though it's the same format "gameplay"-wise, just different art on the cards. Also I wasn't even aware they release cards prehit in MD, apparently I quit it before they started doing that.
>>97142865>Currently the format is just "the newest deck wins", exactly the same as advancedThat's crazy, bro. I didn't know that Lunalight, Psychic piles, Super Quant, and Fire King Jurrac were considered the newest decks.

We’re going to take the NA release delay of PHRE as an opportunity to take some extra time for this update and also prepare a “What to Expect” article for it. We’re shooting for the 15th for the next update, but we’ll let you know in the “What to Expect” article if that changes.sybau killer tune baby. They're literally planning on pre-hitting it.

>>97143255If you're able to bounce it back to the hand, it's an infinitely reusable copy of Monster Reborn, since it specifically needs to be destroyed to nuke the monster you revive. >>97143055I hope they do well with this next fix. Genesys has devolved into "Draw the out" format 2.0 and its died off at my locals because of it.Not to be a Yugiboomer, but the first week with being able to play torrential and mirror force was a nice change of pace from advanced format. I really hope they lower the power to where at least some of those kinds of plays are viable when mixed with Ghost ogre, veiler or some other hand traps to back them up when going second.
>>97145594My retarded take:Genesys is just advanced lite, and KoA doesn't know what it wants Genesys to be.There are at least two groups of players that want Genesys to be something different from what the other group(s) want, but Genesys panders to neither in the present.
>>97142757Thanks for the free sex.
can you always ghost belle Mitsurugi Prayers or does it need a monster in GY
>>97145636>Genesys is just advanced lite, and KoA doesn't know what it wants Genesys to be.I think they have an idea of what they want it to be, considering how powerful Gladiator Beasts was on the first list of the format.I think that they don't know how to translate that to general audiences and were operating on a ton of assumptions beyond the raw rules of the format. And they likely know it, which is why they bring up that this is early access in the blogs, especially with a decent amount of talk is acting like the current state is the full release. Like when there were a lot of people complaining about the changes list being as big as it was.
>>97146086>https://db.ygoresources.com/qa#23215tl;dr is that you can always activate the effects of Ghost Belle since Mitsurugi Prayers' effects include one that summons a monster from the GY. It's directly listed on the page as one of those cards (at the top of the Spell card dropdown, as the case would be).All the stuff in the middle of the entry about True Light being sent to the GY is because Belle negates activations, vs Ash Blossom negating effects. True Light's activation is negated, it goes to the GY.
>>97146137>they don't know how to translate that to general audiencesMakes sense.I think the problem lies with the posts they made at the beginning. For example, "yesterday's gameplay with today's cards" or how they appealed to returning players.Maybe I'm reading too much into things, but from these posts and others, it seems KoA is hinting that Genesys should be a lower-powered format to appeal to older players. However, there are two problems:1-Which type of lower-powered format are we talking about? 2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2020...?2-Looking at the actual YCS meta, Genesys isn't old gameplay at all.Point 2 is the biggest problem, because I think what you said makes sense. KoA just doesn't know how to communicate what Genesys is or that it isn't a lower-powered format when compared to the previous years.
>>97145636>>97146137In my opinion, they make it pretty clear that they want it to be a format that favors engines and chastises cards and/or decks that are either too generically powerful, or too powerful in the first place. They've outright stated that they hit certain cards like The Fallen & The Virtuous so that they don't become the strongest generic forms of removal in the format, and in this one they named Dracotail Flame for doing the same thing.I think the primary problem is just that they advertise it as a low-power format, so people think that they're talking something closer to Speed Duel or early Duel Links' speeds. It's a format that includes modern releases, so obviously that's going to be relative. I've always mentally framed it as something closer to 2021's format with less negation, and honestly I haven't encountered anything that goes against that line of thinking yet.A secondary problem is that they seem to struggle with what to do about new releases that they know will be problematic in the format. Thankfully Killer Tune's getting pre-hit thanks to a little bit of persuasion from our friend, Runick, but what do you do about new cards coming in that don't have any performative data or a functional parallel to work off of? What happens when you have a case like Dracotail that isn't getting appropriately hit because everyone's brushing it off as the weakest JUHU archetype?
>>97146377>I think the primary problem is just that they advertise it as a low-power formatPretty much this. The first time I read about Genesys, without reading the point list, I thought it was a something around 2015-2016>2021>I haven't encountered anything that goes against that line of thinking yetYou had to go out of your way to try to understand what KoA is trying to say. At this point, as the honeymoon phase is ending, I think KoA should just directly say what Genesys is. As long as it isn't Advanced, but lite, I'm fine with it. Dunno what they will do with the people that wanted a really lower powered format that isn't Time Wizard (no new product releases)>What happens when you have a case like Dracotail that isn't getting appropriately hit because everyone's brushing it off as the weakest JUHU archetype?In-house testing? Imo, it's better to hit every new archetype heavily and slowly adjust the points.New product will sell less, but the format won't become "the best deck is the new(er) deck". In other words, Advanced.
>>97146377>>97146481I think Konami has their ideal target around 2015-6 power level minus some bullshit, and consider that "yesterday's gameplay", while there's a lot of people in the community that consider the cutoff point 2014's Duelist Alliance, with HAT as the latest "yesterday" format with many gping Edison as the "popular" one. This disconnect is made worse because Konami likely doesn't expect to meet this ideal. Like 2021's been mentioned as a parallel for the current state of it, so their realistic target may be in the 2018/9 era with a TOSS equivalent power.
I wanted a format where the opponent didn't combo off turn 1 for five minutes, no links helps mitigate this somewhat but a lot of decks were designed with no links in mind with combos that are just as long. However the mentality Genesys seems to take is the opponent comboing off is fine as long as you can play into their full board.I can't really go along with that. We've coped our way into the 20 hand trap meta thinking that we didn't have to sit there watching a combo without interacting with it. The last decade of card design basically assumes your opponent has turn 0 interruptions. However they price hand traps high and board breakers low because they want you to play into an established board. I will still fall asleep before it happens. Lowering the power level of endboards is good but I would also want to lower the duration of combos as well. The only way I can see of doing that is putting Droll and Nibiru at 0 points and just have decks weak to them nuked from the format due to everyone always siding against them but it's only a matter of time before a deck that plays through those two cards while also having long turn 1s shows up. Droll and Nibiru are load bearing hand traps at best. My ideal format has Droll and Nibiru at 0 and nobody plays them anyway because there's no need to.
>>97146597>I think Konami has their ideal target around 2015-6 power level minus some bullshitI wish, but I can't see this being true. If KoA just told us what it truly wants...>This disconnect is made worse because Konami likely doesn't expect to meet this idealI don't know how Edison can be achieved with today's cards. I have never played HAT, so I can't say much. However, I want to point out that without Speed Duel, KoA has no way to sell product to the players that want "yesterday's gameplay". So, what can KoA do about them? Just keep losing this market share to other TCGs?>their realistic target may be in the 2018/9 era with a TOSS equivalent powerI wasn't playing meta at the time. How was the format? Was it better or worse than Master Duel's beginning?>>97146632>I wanted a format where the opponent didn't combo off turn 1 for five minutesSame, but it's hard to have something like this nowadays. Dunno if you remember 2016 BEWD. It already had a long turn imo.>I will still fall asleep before it happens.kek. I couldn't agree more. But yugioh became what it became.>My ideal format has Droll and Nibiru at 0 and nobody plays them anyway because there's no need toNibiru, yes. But Droll I don't know how many searches I'm comfortable with in one turn. Maybe two are acceptable? There are also some decks that bypass droll completely, but I understand what you meant
>>97146800>achieved with today's cards. I have never played HATachieved with today's cards, and I have never played HAT*
>>97146632>Droll and Nibiru are load bearing hand traps at best. You can make that argument for Nibiru, and it's perfectly fine to keep it at its current point value because of that (though I'd greatly prefer it if it went up to 7 instead of 5, that way it would've gone 10 -> 5 -> 7 to normalize at the middleground). Droll doesn't need to be low, though. You are wrestling with two schools of thought, where it is both not as effective in Genesys but also saw over 60% representation at Bologna (which is a big deal when each copy contributes towards the point total). At minimum, it should be equal to Ash Blossom. Ideally in my opinion, Ash Blossom goes to 10 and Droll goes to 15.
>>97146632As much as you may want this anon, you are just not going to be seeing this future because there are even a number of Goat era decks that end up with that long combo play pattern. They are more niche in that format, but if you want to push down the power level hard enough to make it niche, then that is completely and utterly incompatible with Genesys's card pool accepting any new releases.
Been playing Traptrix Ragnaraika Mitsurugi in Master Duel and I'm now kind of really excited for the Mitsurugi reprints in March, I hope they don't hit the engine too hard even though they probably will. It's kind of insane how well the decks weave into each other. Getting to draw 3 in the end phase off wicked butterfly is a great feeling.

>>97149967Your metric for hit protection is off. They hit Baronne almost immediately after she got Rarity Collection reprints. Good reprints of powerful cards either heralds a slaughter from Konami or shows that they're no longer needed as chase cards, and Mitsu's proven to be problematic in pretty much every format thanks to Habakiri.
>>97150032so true
>>97148909Here's my current list, I might add more hand traps to dillute my bricks a bit better and make the draw 3 even more impactful but if you ignore the generic cards you get the basic gist of it.If you open zero Mitsu cards you can still get to Mitsu by making King of the Feral Imps and searching Habakiri. You have to really try to not open Mitsu though, you have 3 Habakiri, 3 Pre-prep, 3 Mitsurugi Prayers and even normal summon Aramasa gets you there. Ideally you want to save your normal summon for the Myrmeleo but even if you don't, because you needed to normal summon Aramasa for example, you can still get most of the combo by discarding the Mitsurugi trap for Holeutea and searching Arachnocampa instead of Myrmeleo. You'll be missing some backrow on your endboard and Arachnocampa will lock you out of summoning Coils but the rest will be there.Normally you go full Mitsu combo and use the level 4s to go into Pinguicula, search Myrmeleo, link Pinguicula into Sera, normal Myrmeleo, search gravedigger, set and use Holeutea, bring out Dionaea reset gravedigger and use the bodies to go into the Jasmine line. What's nice is Jasmine tributes so even if you don't get the line to get Strenna on board you can just tribute a Mitsurugi name and still plus.
>>97146137>considering how powerful Gladiator BeastsI think this is just their inability to let go of the past. Same with Six Sam. If Tewart and Jerome are as hands on as we believe them to be still, it would make sense that they still, to this day, think cards like the Jars and Glad beasts are good because they had to deal with them for 5 years of play when they were younger. Most current players aren't old enough to remember those formats or didn't have the money to play actual competitive YGO during that time so they dont know Glad beast outside of Edison. Jerome, on the other hand, had 100s of articles of his decklists and plays during 2008-10 and had to play against Bestiari during this time. This is probably a reason why it stayed limited until 2015 too.Tewart also played during this time, and if his old Pojo posts and thoughts are to be used, there is zero reason to let him touch a banlist in the first place.

Is there any possible way to make a Frog engine work in advanced?
>>97150376Not to great effect, no. Rorintoadin being Banned kills most of the engine's native combo potential. Closest you can really get to something workable is Spright, but that's just them using Swap Frog to dump Nimble Angler so you can get 2 Nimble Beavers.
>>97150118Surely you can replace the Veilers and Ghost Belles for 3 Imperms and 1 Crossout Designator right?
>>97150533I'd need to craft the crossout but I might do that, the problem with imperm is that wicked butterfly draws in the end phase so if I draw into imperm I can't set it and my board won't be empty so I can't use it from my hand. Imperm is still good to open and better going second into a board but I figured I'd try to maximize the value from the draw 3 by adding cards that are good to draw into. Maybe that's just win more. As I said though the non-engine is the stuff I'm still not quite happy with. It does feel very weird to not be playing imperm. I was also thinking of adding retaliating C since it would also be a crossout target to insulate my Mitsurugi plays and simultaneously autowins the dracotail matchup while also just fitting the deck in general.

I hope I worded this shit right. I wanted to merge Joey tendency to steal his opponent's card to use against them, the ability to make a beeg red-eyes extra deck monster, and red-eyes zombie stuff. And if you can get a red-eyes garnet into the grave you get access to novel type of removal. I might just be smoking too much though.
G2 on the play, was playing primite odion and went Lode before Man with the Mark to bait Ash and got Drolled, bad beat or should I summon Man first even though it gets hosed by more hand traps? I assumed every deck has 3 ash but not every deck has Droll and also most people don't play Droll against Odion to begin with. I consider the purpose of the Primite engine to tank hand traps so my Man combo resolves

>>97153398>be meanI doubt it most people going to public events are pretty good but there's always the chance assholes show up just like anything else in life.>what to expectExpect a fairly diverse pool of decks this format as well as it being locals level. There's always gonna be someone who's on something meta so expect to job to them if you get paired but take it in stride and just get through the game. Dont make a big deal out of it and just know you'll clear that bar some day.Pro tipDo not give every takeback if they ask to more than once or twice in a match and especially mid chain resolution or a previous play. You give those people an inch and they'll take a mile. You don't need to be an asshole about it, but have a bit of spine. Like if they discarded a "wrong card" and it's past the point of adding the card to the chain, they've commited to that cost. IE they pitch TTT for something, you Ash in response, and they now want that TTT back. Stand firm and don't let them. This will go for you too, do not expect them to let you take back every play. Go in with the expectation that the answer is no by default.

any good products worth buying lately?
>>97156198The 5Ds structure decks product was pretty good for staples, rarity collection 5 got announced, 2025 megatin is good in a genesys context, and justice hunters has had it's archetypes in meta for a while now.IMO battles of legend with punk/orcust/dragonmaid was good for reprints. I enjoyed the stamps and the clear plastic core field centers, but I recognize some people dont like the stamp. Punk is a solid deck and dragonmaids are a fan fav. The chibis are fun especially the skull servant but it's another point of subjective feelings.
In brand spanking new, is there a good way to test structure decks on the online client? So far all Ive done are the story missions and its making my head spin
>>97156403On Master Duel? You kind of just have to throw yourself into the deep end, I'm afraid. Yugioh's barrier to entry is one of it's biggest problems. Do as much of the solo mode as you can, copy a decklist from somewhere online and then play against real people. The payoff is worth it.

Best ds/3ds game?
>>97156472goblin for sure
>>97156472What is the best YGO game overall?
>>97152376You either miss 2013-15 or never left those formats mentally.
>>97156403Sadly there are zero good bots regardless of platform if that's what you're looking for.If you just want to slam down paper there are plenty of better clients to do so in that aren't going to make you depend on a virtual currency to have the cards. MDpro3 is a visually similar client to MD but true free, EDOpro is a light weigh sim for true free, YGO omega is a more graphically polished client and is true free, there's a few others but I personally wouldn't recommend them at this point. You can find them in the OP or Google. If you are having trouble with comprehending, you have to develop the skill of skim reading for important words such as negate, destroy, add to hand, cannot etc. And once you do realize it's a relevant effect then you read it in its entirety. A common trapping of new players is that they think they need to read every single card played against them entirely and digest every single word on them. The only deck that you need to know every word on is your own.
>>97156403There is exactly 1 good solo gate (and by good i mean it uses ash blossom, maxx c, called by the grave and impermanence, every other bot doesn't) and it's the last fire king one, which you don't have access to right away. If you're willing to rush the gates until you reach that one, it can serve as good practice before you take your deck to ranked. HOWEVER, you're trying to test a structure deck from the shop, and basically the only good ones are ninja (pretty competent, mostly complete) and dragonmaid (again, it's mostly complete, you'd just need 2 lady's dragonmaid and the LADDL or bystial packages). Everything else is outright terrible. Not that you should be wasting your resources on a mediocre deck. Buy into dracotail, get the branded structure deck, and use that to get as far as you can in ranked, THEN you can build whichever pet deck(s) you want.

>>97159407I'm a bit concerned about the purely-census-driven approach taking the wheel in the future, but maybe it'll be a combination of firm rules in the current iteration (hard bias against floodgates in particular) and census making it easier to get pointed than having those points removed. I am glad that Droll is getting hit regardless.
>>97159576Prior blogs they've made said that census isn't fully automatic and there will be cards that will be functionally locked at their point values. Floodgates and FTKs are the most obvious ones, but there's likely going to be others.
modern yu-gi-oh sucks. i am writing my own game that goes back to the glorious days and my own story, just out of spite. it already got 60 thousand words and the game rules are already done. i only need a audience.
>>97159703What have the numbers looked like for the last few events? I know they cap pods at 8 at YCS events but if we have enough of them they should have a decent amount of data to go off of.Otherwise Im concerned they will be behind the curve and end up making lackluster changes. I know they mentioned the elephant in the room like Six Sam and other stuff having zero representation which is great, but bringing those back will be pointless if they dont hit the stronger decklists.
>>97159747Pods that can go to Invitational have 16 players, they run 32 of those, and then the 8 players come after.Invitationals take the winner and runner-up of each of the qualifying events to make a max 64 bracket (often losing ~12 or so people who qualified for day 2 main event) who play to get the Invitational top 8 and then winner. They didn't give numbers for Bologna in their blog post on that, but at Pittsburg, there were 32 16 person Qualifiers, and 35 8 person On-Demand. People can sign up for multiple, so they've noted they note Invitationals as having higher quality data. They also take in info from online discussions, though if its not people discovering FTKs, those likely have a slight lower quality ranking than events proper.

>>97152394
>>97159728I will not just tell you to fuck off because I'd rather encourage people to follow their dreams. But I will give you two warnings in particular.First, if you are going to incessantly talk about how much you hate modern, don't shill your game here. Most people here, believe it or not, either like modern without necessarily liking the meta, or just generally don't want some crusty old faggot ruining their mood with his bad attitude.Second; You said that you wanted to make your game out of spite for Yugioh. If that is the case, detach yourself from that spite and analyze whether or not your game is propped up on modern Yugioh as a point of reference for its own quality. There's a lot of shit that you might have designed that seems sensible when you juxtapose it against some of the irresponsible design choices that Konami made with Yugioh, but on their own kind of just fucking stink. Get a large focus group to playtest your game. Get people that have 0 experience with Yugioh to test it. Gauge their input on the game as people that carry absolutely none of the spite that you have and make changes based on that input.

>>97163788The entirety of King's Sarcophagus getting reprinted is really nice. Imsety in particular is worth a lot more than he should be. Quintet and Magicalized are also nice. I don't need them but they're good things to have in your pocket if you're running a Spellcaster-heavy deck, and they're pushing Magistus-adjacent archetypes. I like to think it was tailored for my Witchcrafter deck but it's probably prepping for whatever they do with Invoked when they get their manga cards.
Smif I remember correctly, this is not on the TCG? Only ocg?
>>97160822it's more like forbidden memories and duelist of the roses with free form fusions, that only account for type and elements. i really like the idea that players cannot spam the field and effect monsters are rare. so my game resolves are more vanilla gameplay with supporting weapons that boost power. effect monsters are hard limited to 5 per deck, and i introduce a mana system, so nobody can play blue eyes ultimate dragon on turn one. ofcourse i will rename every monster and draw new pictures so konami has no ground. it will be a new game after everything is done. the story is about a kid without magic, that grabs a cursed crystal. now he is haunted by a old ghost and suddenly can summon monsters from his trading cards.style is more 2000s punk and highschool sit-com with bullys, posh girls, goths, nerds and sporting events around the card game.
>>97164736Doesn't sound at all appealing to me, but good luck with it all.
>>97164100Where can I get one of those?
>>97164736Game sounds kind of boring. You pretty much just created a flashy version of War where you're comparing a value against each other but sometimes you add to it and that's not going to make for a very repeatable gameplay in the long term. There's a reason why almost every single card game moves away from that super quickly. It fails to retain an audience in this wide sea of card games, especially right now where we're way oversaturated with them.Premisewise sure it's the same beats as early ygo in a plagiarism sense so I guess if that's what you want out of it you got that. But here's my question to you. If you go already exists why would people move to your story if it's just the same thing? I don't think your game is going to sell it, so do you hope that it appeals to people who align with the authors barely disguised fetish and don't care about the substandard team play? This all smacks of the several vtuber card games that were released earlier this year that went absolutely nowhere and we're depending on the theme/characters to carry a bad game that was just stat comparison with a dead simple effect here and there. You're at a disadvantage beyond that even because you're a literal who compared to them at least having a billion brain dead morons that'll buy anything with their established property on it.It's all said if you really want to attempt to redeem this and follow through on it then I think you need to really put effort into making a game that people actually want to play because currently your target audience for the gameplay is a bunch of people that don't actually play any games. Failing that I think you would be better off making a manga/webcomic.
>>97165214first there will be the novel. the game in itsell is just merch. it honestly started out as a fan fiction home brew idea and now got its own legs. own story, own characters, own history. most people will probably don't even even see the connection once its hits shelfs.the duels in universe are schoolyard conflicts battled out with cards. you have the loser club, which tries to rebell against the rich kids. they need to collect trashy cards and fusion them together to even have a fighting chance against the bullies, who buy all the good golden-border stuff. the characters will be the selling point, because they all have themed decks, that point towards their tropes. the hero, with little baby dragons that fusion with everything. the nerd with toasters and toy cars with googly eyes. the witch goth girl with thorny plants and zombie lichs. the jock with warriors and knights. the fat guy from bavaria with sleeping bears and lions. the punk girl with fire spitting goblins and circus artists. and on the other side the rich kids with jewel encrusted shield walls that block damage, silver knights, nordic valkyries on horses and the boss with his sun dragon that glows golden. the card designs go back to the more ugly and creepy style. the animals are all toothy with black eyes, the comedy stuff has big eyes and bright colors. the demonic monsters have chains, leather vests and everything is wet, slimy and glows in the darkif this is not the place to post those idea, i request that you guide me towards a better sub forum.

>>97163015It's ok I'll just kms myself.
>>97163320I should've rather said "validating" them, since in a lot of pre-Link tournaments you'd see people moving cards around on the field for fun. Kind of a culture shock thing when you see it.Putting that aside though; If the other anon were strictly talking about MR4 then I'd be inclined to agree with the shitty Link restrictions changing the field. But given that we're no longer under MR4's restrictions, the introduction of the EMZ is purely additive. I can't really wrap my head around why someone would be mad about being able to summon one more monster than before.

If the game itself is 2nd class and simply a narrative device then, as you saw play out, we instantly honed in on such and called it out it being weak.I would suggest that if you're looking for gameplay/design critique you come here and if you're looking for literature critique you try there.I'm going to level with you. We constantly deal with people coming into the community and asserting the "I hate modern, old yugioh was the best" position with no backing for the position beyond a game of pretend they played 25 years ago. >>97159576Banlist by census makes a ton of senseus from Konami's perspective because strong budget decks will, by virtue of accessibility, trend towards higher player representation assuming power level is roughly balanced with a more expensive or significantly more difficult to pilot alternative. It's not good for the game's health, but Konami has always used the banlist as a way to rotate product first and balance the game a very distant second.
It is fascinating to see how many people that play Genesys assume that if a deck has points to it, the whole deck is completely dead. Some have a threshold of like 10 points per copy, but still.
