Gellar fields don’t always work across the entire ship. Power fluctuations can cause localized disruptions.

I think what ill do is just bring some more tubing in around the side to hide it, and maybe lower the chest plating a tad to close the gap between it and the belt. I think its more an unfortunate situation of it being made from the worst looking mini in the squad. Here is is next to his squad member, who doesnt have any longer legs or any shorter torso.

Back in the day GW used to have in induction for new staff members at Nottingham. I don't know if they still do, this was a long time ago. I think the event was actually in the 90s, but became pretty famous for those of us that worked around Manchester during that period. It was told to me by one of the staff at the Altrincham store (where I was working at the time - '98). I'm fuzzy on who exactly it happened to, it was either the guy telling me the story or someone he knew. Alas I haven't been in contact with him for years so I've no way of checking.
They'd travel down to Notts (from a Manc perspective at least) and go through the whole shebang, various meetings, being shown around the factory, learning company values etc. At the end of the first day they'd get to do their first weight order. Again, this was before my time as a staff member - we "only" got a 50%ish discount on everything, but at one point it was literally you paid for the weight of the metal (plastic was always 50%) in your order, so you could buy a lot for not a lot.
Anyway, at this particular induction my mate from Alti went down to Nottingham, went through the induction and after picking out his chosen models for his first lead weight order, went to see what his hotel roommate (hereafter referred to as Thorskinsonn) had picked. It was a lot of one particular unit type. No prizes for guessing, Thorskinsonn really liked his dwarfs. After the first day it was traditional to hit the Nottingham nightlife (desu, it was traditional to hit whatever city you were in's nightlife at any opportunity if you worked for GW back then). My mate went out, but Thorskinsonn declined the invite as he was tired and went back to their hotel room.
>>
>>97139489
Later that night, my mate gets back, opens the door to their room to be greeted by the sight of Thorskinsonn stood stark bollock naked on his bed, his little "Gotrek" in hand, furiously tugging away and surrounded by his lead weight order of Trollslayers arranged in a circle around him. Thorskinsonn didn't make it through the rest of the induction.
Lot more stories from that time period. Someone being fired while taking a shit, weird things that happened to shoplifters, chav wet t-shirt event, nipple cancer, the child abuse guy, the dungeonmaster (50 Shades of Grey type, not DnD), vertical dwarf army, KKK Redemptionists, The 'Mormon mafia' which used to run the place, GW's anti-liberal calender, mexican cheese vs HGV (truck for the Americans), Looney Tunes style model smashing, Games Day LSD, human skateboard ramp, Manager's meeting at Bugmans with hired strippers, Manager's meeting in Amsterdam, One of them has to get bailed out of a brothel by area manager using company card, Alan Merritt, one of the Golden Demon judges for years is colourblind, Alan Merritt is also the sole person responsible for the Age of Sigmar fuck up of having no points on release as he was so desperate to remove any trace of Rick Priestly, Nick Bayton is very religious and thinks gays are disgusting, Bryan Ansell was a coke fiend nutcase and some others.

Do you pass the Ork test with your lore?
>>
>>97139497
Meaning?
>>
>>97139471
Could also be because the torso looks too thin. So it needs a bit more bulk.
>>
>>97139497
This wouldn't fire because it is cardboard.
However we have had some small lore snippets where techpriests get their hands on ork guns so they crack them open how they work.
Only to see that the firing mechanism just shouldn't work at all. It's basically bunch of junk and scrap metal.
Also we do know that ork make-believe power is real due to the whole "red ones go faster" shit.

Ork belief power is inconsistent and always will be.

It really doesn't. The whole point of meks is that they don't really study anything.
They have always been something where they just instinctively "know" how to make shit like weapons.
>>
>>97139536
Ork tech obviously is some psychic mob mentality shit manifesting things to happen that they can only subconscioulsy affect. I don't know if this is explicitely explored in lore but it's always come off like that to me.

It only gets retarded at the far end. Ork stuff works just crude. Build a car. It would run but be shit. Orks do the same, it just last a little longer or needs "oil" not a certain type viscosity. Build a gun. It will be shit but the ork gun won't jam as much. Hell ork titans actually make sense from an engineering standpoint. Just crude.

Yeah, I quite like the idea of it being a kind of "psychic lubricant" that smooths over how shoddily built and unreliable Ork technology tends to be. Looking it over again I see that I didnt add enough putty to fix the left side of the torso. This particular piece suffers really badly from GW taking shortcuts. The left side of the chest is all smushed and flattened without the proper curvature, so that it would pop out of the mold. I really like the sculpt of these chaos terminators but the whole kit is kinda plagued by the fact they crammed it onto two sprue instead of three: lots of bad underfils and casting cheats.

Good. Fuck normies. They ruin everything. Videogames are shit, card games, music, 40k when it gets that damn TV show, porn, writing, they just water it down and cry about "offense" or "morally questionable" content then bring thier adhd spawn only to have moralfags ban it because the book they didn't read had a passage that was meant for real spirtal crimes is used to justify banning everything and giving the government a new agency.

No, I do not consider myself to be a "true lore master".
I do, however, possess the Ultimate Knowledge: GW doesn't care about the fluff being consistent. All "lore" is made up by random nerds in Nottingham, their knowledge and understanding of the setting is as shallow and wrong as mine.
Thus their "canon" should mean nothing to you.

Warhammer lore isn’t worth reading about. It’s not even a good a setting let alone a narrative.

Yes, because anons here aren't wannabe grifters and actually get the vibe of things, and don't autsitically obsess over one sentence in a codex that has been retonned 4 times elsewhere by later codexes. OR god forbid take BL slop as the final word on something

People that pretend their choice of army to collect, paint and play with isn't a direct reflection of at least some aspect of their personality, either don't have a personality, or are in serious denial.

>>97140603
Perhaps. Real people are indeed nuanced, but what someone chooses for their 2nd 3rd or 4th etc, still reflects further parts of ones personality. I hope no one is so one dimensional that their entire persona is just (blue soldiers), but what someone perceives as "cool" is still a straight up mirror of their mind. No one who looks at something like Death Guard and thinks "cool" is going to be a person I want to ever be around. Just like what you "hate" tells a story about you too.
>>
>>97140733
Sources differ on that. Some say it's the actual head (which is retarded as fuck since the marine is supposed to be floating in an amniotic tank within the sarcophagus), some say it's just a sensorium array fashioned in the form of a head and placed roughly where a head would be to better map camera feeds to the interred marine's expectation of a "body" and to reduce mental strain from being directly wired into a combat mech.

True or false question, 40k loreanons:
>The Lost and the Damned is a catch-all term for any predominantly human polity that actively fights against the Imperium. This includes secessionist uprisings, slave rebellions, previously uncontacted human civilizations resisting being assimilated into the Imperium, and even particularly large pirate fleets as well as xenos-subverted (Gue'vesa, Genestealer Cults, Enslaver thralls, etc) and Chaos worshippers.

...Uh, to try and TLDR:
>Are the Lost and the Damned just the non-Marine, non-Daemon followers of Chaos?
>Or does it mean any human, abhuman or mutant force that fights against the Imperium for whatever reason?
>>
>>97139422
GW logic is likely that A) it would compete with the AoS line and B) they want their khorne guys to be cultists and eightbound not berzekrers and berzerkers on cavalry, as paradoxically d umb as that sounds, since Ts and dg alreaddy have heavy reliance on rubrics and plague marines (and is why tzaangors are pushed heavily in TS to 'distinguish' them from the rest, while ironically crossing over with tzeentch in aos). This is also probably why noise marines don't' have a detachment or anything, to keep the focus on something different.
>>
>>97140045
They don't buy any faction though.

Wing enthusiast from yesterday, I tried another technique (bottom gargoyle) and I did a fairly poor job on it, and it takes a little longer than the top one. Not sure if its worth the time desu. Tried to add a bit of red to the recesses of the top one and fucked that up too. Having a disaster

Dude what are you saying, the bottom wings look pretty sick? They look nice and grungy.

You could do 1 more layer with a brighter color, and make lines that are small and dont touch over as the final "highlight", but desu its more than fine as is.
>>
>>97141357
Different anon, but that depends on the overall paint job. If it's on the more stylized side, that level of roughness with lines can work fine.
>>

Hehe, boat.
>>

Yeah they dont have to look perfect anon, and they look good. Texture is good for wings and the imperfections of the lines make it look nice and natural, which is what you want with tyranids.

If you want to add a bit more depth before you do your highlight, try adding a wash. Something red/skin toned, and do it halfway up the wing to darken it.Then while its still wet, feather out the transition. Kind of like pic related.
Then for your highlight, dont go for pure white if you do. Do a mix again, but this time very little ak skin.
>>
>>97141419
Nta but you really need to pick up a lighting setup and a piece of printer paper if you're gonna keep painting blends like this, I feel like we lose a lot of subtlety with your pics combined with the 4chan compression

Looks great either way. We are critical of our own work because not only are we aware of the mistakes we made, we also know how we wanted it to look like and how the final product came short.

>>
>>97141435
Yeah, I feel like my photo set up holds me back a decent amount. I keep trying to put some money aside to make a better setup but it keeps slipping my mind cause generally my pics are "good enough" and I get distracted easily.
>>
>>97141445
Honestly, if you go out and get a nice full spectrum fluorescent lightbulb, and a desk lamp from salvation army, you've got a good enough photo setup if you've got a smartphone from the past 10 years. I have a lightbox but I barely use it cause it's such a pain to set up all my lights for it
>>
>>97141458
I do have a desk lamp that I use when I paint, but its got a yellow tint so I dont use it for my photos. Believe it or not, most of my model photos >>97141390 are taken under the light of my room light.

Maybe I should try a white background instead of the grid sometime, but I kinda got attached to the grid.

I think poorhammer owes most of its success to the production value, which is very very good. One of the hosts is a complete retard with nothing original or interesting to add and the other host (the guy who sounds older) does most of the research and talking.

Even then, there's nothing exciting outside of the research and stats the good host made a few times for the army comparison videos. It's recently become a lot of tier-list slop and "spectulation" videos where you get no real substance and instead magical christmas land wishes and dreams.

I hope their editior is making good money because the show would be unwatchable without him. I think they need to kick the dead-weight host with the grey knights rantsona and find somebody who actually paints or has experience.

The main host also repeats a lot of misnomers and bullshit, which is common in the fanbase but he says it confidently and with how many secondaries watch thier content it's only making the situation worse.

This stuff is true. GW was a very different beast under Kirby. Remember that Financial Times literally called him the biggest cokehead asshole in the UK business world.
>Manager's meeting at Bugmans with hired strippers
Stripper parties at Bugmans is classic GW lore.
>Bryan Ansell was a coke fiend nutcase
100% true and was hated by everyone at GW.
>The 'Mormon mafia' which used to run the place
How you know this is true.
GW's factory operation was once based in Eastwood, which is largely a Mormon community. They were a major employer and thus, lots of Mormons worked there and worked their way up the GW ranks. After moving from Eastwood to Nottingham, a lot of them remained, but being closer to Nottingham, things were a little more culturally advanced than Eastwood so key managers would fill managerial posts from 'back home' in Eastwood, so lots of the GW upper levels became extremely cliquey filled with Mormons.
There actually is a pretty big mormon influence in 40k Lore with lots of the texts in universe copy pasted out of Mormon scripture
>Sons of Mars listen well, for one will come, mighty and strong, holding the sceptre of power in his hand. Clothed in light and fire, his mouth shall utter eternal words, while his mind shall be a fountain of knowledge and fact. When the Saviour shall appear ye shall see him as he is, a man like ourselves and yet greater by far.
Mormon
>[I]t shall come to pass, that I, the Lord God, will send one mighty and strong, holding the sceptre of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words; while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth, to set in order the house of God.... I stole around $5,000 worth of food from my last job over about six years of working there. We had a cafeteria that took free meal vouchers management would award us with for like birthdays and shit, only they made them with printer paper so I just made hundreds of copies and used them about once a week, maybe twice if they had a different person at the cafeteria checkout, and I'd load up my takeout box with free food. No? He is described to be Catherist or however it is spelled, which is probably a off-shoot of Catholic Christianity 40,000 in the future.
But since it is specifically named "Catherist", it would imply that there are more people out there who are part of the same religion, ie. not making him the pope.
Also doesn't really guarantee that the role of pope even survives the 40,000 years.

>The Emperor and the primarchs are literally the only ones strong enough to bring peace to the galaxy
The Emperor and the Primarchs forced the galaxy to fall into the utter hellscape scenario it is now in the span of a few hundred years.
The Eldar ruled the galaxy for sixty million without issue until the end.
No civilization held dominion over the galaxy following the Fall of the Eldar. Literally any unified group of Humans could have taken over, including ones that would make peace with xenos.
The Emperor expressly went about his plans in the stupidest and most needlessly violent way possible, and the Primarchs were a result and application of that of that method.
The objective evil only holds power now BECAUSE of the Emperor and the Primarchs.

Depends on what you mean by worse. Mass effect is explicitly a starwars/star trek esque setting Warhammer is not. There aren't a bunch of large scale military engagement constantly going off in Mass Effect, there are in Warhammer. It's kind of hard to compare them since they're so different. Closest thing to Mass Effect is the tau empire

>>
>>97143792
>I thought the crux terminatus had actual practical use though
Not really. It's basically just a honor symbol. On all models, expect terminators, the symbol is just there to signify that this specific marine has earned the right terminator armor if he wants to.
The whole thing about there being an extremely small fragment of the Emperor's armor being inside every single one of the cruxes is basically just an in-universe myth because the Imperium, go figure, is extremely religious and superstitious.

It's more likely that all terminators have some sort of shield generators within their their shoulder armor for protection.
Which is exactly what the Cataphractii armor has, like it is specifically called out as a feature within their construction.
And since it is stated that both Indomitus and Tartaros patterns were created based on the Cataphractii, meaning it would makes sense that even Indomitus and Tartaros armors most likely contain some sort of shield generators within them.

And the whole emperor's armor fragment and the "holy protection" it provides is actually just technological in origin. But again since Imperium is very superstitious and due to the loss of knowledge, many people just attribute the "holy protection" to the myth.
