Madoka's talents lie in understanding people very well, so you can play up her ability to play matchmaker fairly far. Expect everything from convenient opportunities for each to talk about their hobbies, moments for them to appeal to the other like Kaoru mysteriously getting hit on so Takaishi can step in, to random events like them being the 1000th customer and getting some free service out of nowhere...Which I think could be a nice sub-plot in you wanna lean into that? Like maybe Madoka ends up scheming too much, making everything too perfect and shojo manga-y that it loops back around to feeling subtly wrong and unnatural- as if it's less magical precisely because it's not their own personal adventure filled with their own flaws and bumps in the road. As you said Ritual is what I would also assume to be laborious and almost impossible to use in battle without exploits or good planning. Magic circles, materials, precise rituals, that kinda stuff, I think we're on the same page there. What I was plannig to explain is that since now the world is real magic would be a bit different, which has pros and con, one of the cons are the miscasts that you mentioned, one of the pros is that learning new types of magic is easier now, since you don't have to rely completely on the system. Moving on, Elemental Magic, it's intuitive and versatile, but more expensive, think about what you want to do, say the spell, effect happens, profit. It's simple and a classic, but I don't see why we should reinvent the wheel.Then we have Liminal magic, magic that is a bit of both, this magic would be more situational and act more like one or the other of the two types depending what you do with it, Necromancy and Spirit Magic would fall here, with them both having rituals for more complex effects and basic spells for more simple/prepared effects. Like having to make a contract with a spirit via ritual but then being able to use it's power more like an element, or Repair Undead being a normal spell and not a ritual.Lastly how do Skills fit in? They are simply pre-set spells that are cheaper than they would be if you cast them using the generic magic skill, and can be learned via enough repetition. In exchange, they are static and can be modified very little once "crystallized".Damn I rambled a lot. I must be running out of characters so I will answer the rest in a different post. Each element has a series of weapon forms that can be made with a given combination, which is limited but can be expanded if you learn the right skills. Fire has swords, Holy has maces and axes, stuff like that. Ritual is special, since it can be anything instead of giving a generic unaspected magic damage it makes the weapon do 100% of the damage of the other types and makes using the weapon to cast magic easier. Ritual would add a dagger or staff form to the list of weapons.The requirements are determined by the form, so now that Liam can customize them he can make swords that require less strenght to wield, but may require more wisdom or other stats depending on the form, the total is still 15.

Sword is one of hte most pure because its purpose is more or less singular. To cut. Your techniques will cut more deeply, you might cut through an enemies attack, your blade becomes an extension of your mind and body by cutting the ties holding you back. Wind is freedom and movement flowing freely around the battlefield light as a feather and blowing your enemy around or their attacks aside while slowly eroding their defense. Beasts would embody different animals, a hare when they jump a turtle when they block wolf when they bite someone and so on, its more broad and universally useful but as a result lacks in bullshit asspulls.

In a meta-sense, the intent would be for the Xun anons to decide which if any of them gets involved with Tsolmon, so they can work it into their greater overarching narrative.

If you looked at it as some physical stat like strength, dexterity etc, it boosts those stats up to your maximum cap, but it doesn't raise the cap itself. Body Talent, Body Refining techniques that go beyond just cleansing impurities, Mystic Beast Spirit Foundation, and some Natural Insights are what can push that max cap higher.
