I absolutely do not have the talent to create them myself, and even bottom tier artists cost far too much for the quantity I need. The entire point of consumer AI tools in general is to put otherwise difficult or tedious skills in the hands of the layman. Pic related as an example. Bare minimum $40-50, if you're lucky. And what do I get for that? A character portrait. Now theres 30 odd other NPCs that need some sort of image, not including images for objects, locations etc. Sure, I could get some random shit off google, but they rarely get better than "close enough" to the concept I have in my head.
