The first post is for the Empire, the greatest faction in all of tabletop... and uncopyrightable by GW.>TQI might have told this story before, but the Aldebrand Ludenhof miniature is probably still my favourite. I don't exactly know why I fell in love with this one as a kid, but it is still my favourite so many years later. It took me a long time to track one down, but I was able to obtain an unpainted (and still packaged) one that will be my general.A close second would be one of the old captaiins, the one in full plate, big feathers and a two-handed sword, that recently was sold as MTO by GW.
>tqThey really are all wonderful, but if I had to pick just one it would be this chaos warrior from 1988. He originally came with a scythe, but the moment I first laid eyes on him I knew I had to make him my BSB. He's the best and I only somewhat regret chopping off his scythe. #2 would be chaos warrior with bone armour 1 (who I use as my chaos lord), and #3 would be that one champion of tzeentch with no face, a mace, and a book (who I used to use as my chaos lord). One day I'll have all of the models from the Realm of Chaos era.

>>97182634I always found it really cute how they re-used the basic shapes/bodies of models like that one to make several other models. That jezzail warrior has the same body as the chaos warrior with scythe, the skeletal champion with a sword, etc. It was a cost and time-saving measure, to be sure, but it led to a lot of beautiful models. You couldn't do something like that with the way they make models nowadays.

Are the RP books a good source of real granular lore for factions? Army books seem more like a greater overview/summary of lore, but I’m looking for more specifics.
