Anything they currently sell probably isn't going away and at worst you might get some slightly newer looking versions of a couple units to mix and match with later on. They're one of the most kitbash able armies in the game too because they're one of the last left that hasn't been updated out of having fully interchangeable parts yet. Plus, by the time you finish your list and paint it all up is right around the time that you will get a bunch of brand new models released for the army to expand into.They're also just super fun and technically interesting to play with a lot of skill expression to be found.

They have a really cool range with lots of options. Cons are that they aren't the most durable at toughness 3 with 1 wound for infantry. They usually punch up though and as an imperial army you also get to ally in knights if you want some more durable stuff.I would be wary of DEldar though, who knows if they get a range refresh in the next year or two.

So Creative Assembly made a video today regarding Total War 40k and it sounds a lot like they're making a Narrative Crusade game. Every faction can be played with custom /dudes/ and apparently details can be carried between campaigns. In particular they made special mention that Eldar armies will be primarily focus on objectives to stop "cataclysmic events" rather than just conquering and expanding, while Marines are acting as mobile heavy support defending Imperial territories with fleet-based operations.Are we maybe going to get a Crusade Simulator?
