Well, I guess I can add Canva now to the ever-growing list of software/skills I've taught myself solely for making CYOAs
>>97233123What is that from? I recognize the font, and remember the quote, but I can't seem to remember what it was from.
>>97233144elder scrolls
FUCK elden ring
>>97233159you cannot fuck a game, retard
>>97233167Not with that attitude!
CYOAs for this feel?

>>97233316waoh yeah that's like a prefect match
Let's play a game and look at our favourite image macros from an alternate angle. Take Guts. Of Berserk fame, the Black Swordsman, the Hundred Man Slayer, warrior of a hundred other titles. Almost all of us know the man, for better or for worse. Now, the dilemma. Thrust him, exactly as is, with his knowledge and skill, into the position of the player.Given the choices therein and no outside context or information, what is the weakest CYOA that Guts would fail to survive, at least 90% of the time?
>>97233349Any waifu picker.
>>97233349So lets get this straight, the question isn't what setting does Guts as a character die in, it's what cyoa he makes the wrong choices in? So he doesn't go into the world as Guts the Black Swordsman, but as Guts the Planeswalker or some shit?
>>97233349I like the concept but "survive" may be too broad. Anyone who doesn't live forever fails to survive.
>>97233372Nta, most cyoas don't have a win condition either. What parameter should we set?
>>97233349Night Ride
>>97233358True. Every waifu picker would be a hard wall for him to progress through, but most of them aren't dangerous.>>97233361Guts goes into the CYOA as Guts the Black Swordsman, in the same sense that Anon goes into the CYOA as Anon the Imageboard Browser. Everything he has previously isn't removed, but he has the choices on top of that. Which CYOAs would the average anon be able to win more consistently than Guts?>>97233372>>97233380The win criteria for Guts is if he can clear the CYOA's main objective, or if there are none, survive for at least a human lifespan.
PCA: GutsGriffith: Gil
>>97233400It's an interesting idea. I will need a bit more time to remember some specific names but my mind immedietly goes to those cyoas that "level the playing field" so to speak. Stuff like Animus, in that one Guts wuldn't get to keep his natural advantages, he gets turned into a doll the same as any anon. That may not be the best example because I'm pretty sure he would survive it in this case, but it does get rid of his powers.
>>97233422Monstrous.
>>97233457
>>97233349OR. Guts greatly lacks knowledge compared to us.
>>97233480OR's subtext is that you will probably end up succeeding as long as the Elder Gods like the story you're making. Guts is a likeable protagonist, he'd win.
>>97233381That's a good contender. An antagonist he can't fight head-on pursuing him, and the only escape is by a modern vehicle. I suppose his survival chances boil down to whether Guts can figure out how to drive a car, keep it fueled and maintained, and navigate endless modern highways. That is a tall-order even for the average modern man. Is Guts smart enough to grasp how to operate the machinery in a matter of hours? He's no stranger to gadgets, with his handcannon and everything, but a car is a big step.>>97233442That's another possible contender. Guts' combat prowess is a big factor whenever he comes up, but many CYOAs offer abilities of a similar or even stronger scope. The biggest asset he has is his psychology, rapid improvising, clever strategy, insane willpower, and so on. In that respect I think he's overwhelmingly superior to all, or possibly almost all, anons but he's also extremely aggressive, stubborn, driven by vengeance and vigilantism, and from a medieval background. In most CYOAs those aren't a major problem but in some, they're dangerous limits to have.>>97233480Good call. Guts would likely choose JNPL as his mom, load up on physical boosts, and try to confront Charlotte head-on. I don't think he has the inclination for mysticism or patience for deciding peoples' fates for them to go deep into the magic system. He's also held back by the lack of lore knowledge that most /cyoa/ anons have by sheer osmosis. But then again, Charlotte almost lost to Keter of all people. I could see him pulling a win.
>>97233487You won't win just because you think you're likable lol. The world will end up reset while you're thrown into the trash bin, replace by the next guy who's hopefully more competent and less delusional.
>>97233507>he thinks the meta won't matter>in a cyoa explicitly about metaness
>>97233349Entropist (the Father rewards deficient character), Tank's upcoming LotM cyoa (lack of meta-knowledge), Fate: Another Pretender (unlikely to pick dead apostle), Mushoku Tensei (more likely to die to Rudeus than the average player, and more likely to waste points on touki), and Overlord (likely to pick a scenario with Ainz, and then try to kill him). The crucial differences are that Guts is a good person, and that Anon has meta-knowledge. CYOAs with evil characters stronger than the player (e.g. Ainz, Rudeus vs a bad build, or the entirety of Entropist) are massively in Anon's favor. For pill pickers or other setting-less cyoas, is he dropped in the modern world?
>>97233349I bet Guts would choose to become a rogue agent in picrel and be exterminated by the corporation.
>>97233532>For pill pickers or other setting-less cyoas, is he dropped in the modern world?I wouldn't say "yes" unless the framing device heavily implies a modern setting like pic related with its high technology and standard of living.
>>97233532This has to be bait.
>>97233349Are there guns in Berserk? If not, anything with black powder weapons (or better) would be pretty lethal for him. Historically, the learning cyrve was pretty brutal.
>>97233739Curve. The learning curve was brutal.
>>97233747
>>97233759
>>97233761
>>97233532>Fate: Another PretenderNah, it's too easy to just go Beast and cripple all opponents.
>>97233798But would Guts do that?
I feel so oldi remember a time when gil was still just a baby that is how old I am
>>97233806Likely. Beast is the obvious op option, and opponents can be made all evil for 0 hesitation to kill them.
>>97233818I remember a time before gil was born.Dice wasn't yet invented so we went "Post numbers decide who is born!"and it was gil
>>97233487Sure, Guts teams up with Charlie and kills the elder godhead here you go happy ending
>>97233984>teams up with Charlie and kills the elder godheadso he's a bad guy
