>>97233456I didn't paint anything for almost a year now. My brain want to paint but my body say no
Thank you Baker San. I can see the light again.
finished up the gangwanted it done before the new year so pretty happy I got them done before christmas
>>97233492I hope you feel able in the new year <3
TIL about the legend of brother craig/johnny, so thank you thread creator for this new insighthave a goofy ass drawing as tribute and i hope you all have a comfy christmas!
>>97233823i hate noticing literally pixel-sized errors after posting shit, sorry if this counts as spam>>97233580very lovely by the way, i think the highlights on the top of the skull helps it stand out from the rest of the lighter colors (also a huge fan of the rust on the bases)
>>97233456Nice. My cute elf (goblin) is going to be the Christmas OP.
>>97233456Wanted to start on my Old World Empire army. I'm going for a Marienburg scheme cause I think they're fun.
>>97233875very solid choice; i have a soft spot for blues and yellows with color schemes so i think they look pretty great, godspeed anon!
11 down, 5 (and two stars) to go.
>>97233856Good shit anon, I think it should be the OP of next thread
>>97233875You are braver than me, yellow can be a pain to work with.
>>97233456Is there any guide for painting eye reflection dot?
>>97233933there are several ways to do it, one thing that's pretty consistent is dabbing a toothpick into some paint, then testing it on a gloved hand or something, if it's a clear print then just put it on the eyealternatively you can just use a very fine point brush
>>97233917Oh, believe me, I'm in for an ordeal. Three coats to make the yellow on that mini look good
Where do people get these photo etched brass bits for 40k?
>>97233949AB yellow inkThank me later
>>97233933It's not possible. People just photoshop them in afterwards.
>>97233960What does AB stand for?
Working on finishing off my succubus. Largely happy with how it's going but I've screwed the glasses up a bit. Was trying to go for a glow but I've done too many layers. Should I just go over again with a metalic or leave it?
>>97233973Glaive*
>>97233823>>97233856That's a lovely Johnny, anon.
>>97233973I think you should clean up that overspill where you tried to color in the skin but got it on the clothes before worrying about the weapon
What varnish looks better on snow bases, gloss or matte?
>>97234027It’s ‘which’ not ‘what’ when the choices are limited, Anon.
>>97234027i would say matte or satin would work better for snowy bases compared to gloss, gloss varnish would make it look more like it's covered in ice, so unless that's the look you're going for stick with matte
>>97234027I would paint what I wanted on the modelled part, and then matte finish it, and then put any snow effects on that I wanted and leave them as is.
Sometimes, I just want to paint a random space marine. And I've got a couple of space marine kits even but I hate building them, so that barrier kills any motivation to do that, and then on top of that I would want to sub-assemble them, nothing crazy, just maybe like the gun, head, and pack, but it adds another level of complexity to the ordeal.
Bit of a proof of colour concept for my first bit of terrain - which tile colour do you think works best, and should I use dark or light stone? (Light is the one under the darker one, very similar tone to the primer). I would appreciate thoughts on other colour schemes or paints to use on models like this!
>>97234079My brain's fucking fried today.>>97234083>>97234088Fair points. I did try gloss first under the assumption that it would give a wet look but it looks wrong.
Finish line is in sight
Decided to become part of the problem, after I unglue my fucked up Tactical Warsuit I'll finally have finished the combat patrol I got in September.Sticking a bunch of leftover bits and pieces on the infiltrators was fun, even if it was as basic as giving one of them 5 grenades and another 3 pistols.
>>97233971Air brushed
Merry Xmas to me, thanks anon!A warhammer branded box is certainly a good start and was difficult to wait to open it
>>97234172I was a good boy
>>97234208Imgetting spoiled, 5 weighty numbered gifts.And a lovely card
>>972342181 of 5 and already you have done too much for getting me started on my new armyChocolate and Keks is great choice for meAnd a mystery circle...
>>97234228No 2 More excellent chocolate for me, I do love ritter sports and a fantastic chaos boy to bolster my night lords
>>972342363 will bolster my Black Templars significantly! And these bases will make magnetising mich easier The chocolate keeps flowing..
>>97233492same, and on top of that I fell into the trap of ''I'll just buy these paints / tools that I totally need to start this project'' and I never did move past assembling, basing and priming few minis
>>97234244Bus
>>97234236Ah fuck that's my favorite type of Ritter sport, now I'm craving it...
>>972342524. A bus of amazing items and some fun models to paint. Very interested in this ink!
>>972342565/5Last but not least, a very plushie heretic destroyer and a delicious evil red wizard with hideous creatures!

Got unbanned just in time to post this.Thank you for all of the gifts, Germanon! The other sweet treat didn't even make it into the photo, they were consumed almost immediately by the family.God Jul, everyone!
>>97234127Excuse me if this has been asked a hundred times before, but what is your yellow paint? It looks really smooth, great coverage.
>>97233959I think it's these
Are there any water based metallics that are as good as asian lacquer metallics? I don't mind the fumes but the prices for them on aliexpress skyrocketed from 3-4 euros per bottle to 10-15 and I'm not willing to pay that much for paint
>>97234391the new vallejo metallic metals seem promising, though I have not had the chance to use them personally yet
Doing some babby's first kitbashing, bashing tigether spare troupe and star/voidweaver bits to get some extra troupe infantry for free.Having to slice hands off one set of arms and weapons off another so I can glue the arms for the extra "hanger-on" clowns to the spare troupe weapons.
>>97234391vallejo metal color line is probably the best acrilic metallics you can get
>>97234431Guess I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay the 300% markup and deal with the 2 month shipping times then.
>>97234431Duraluminium, my love.
Done some work on the Invictor.
I was planning on a less teal paint for the waterline but heyo. At some point I'll knock em down with washes so they're less mirror bright. At least I'm getting faster at masking. Are the fine pressure valves fitted right below the airbrush worth it? Maybe mine is just cheap garbage but it seems to choke too much unless it's just a whisper away from flying out.
