It's been about 5 and a half years since "Hound" was errata'd to "Dog". Do you think this change was good or bad?

They're both canines, but we linguistically subset them. And werewolf falls victim to this, too.Meanwhile, cat as a creature type has always been a mix of both housecats, lions, and leonin. So it's always been easier to create tribal support for. The dog update feels like it was an effort to give the subtype more attention, but never properly addressed what the real problem with its design is. So it ended up being an easy but pointless errata.The only way to realistically give Hound proper support while maintaining flavor is to errata all wolves and hounds to canines (and werewolves to human canines), and all cats to felines. But that's more complicated than I'm willing to ask for.

Anyone else notice the premodern cards skyrocketing in price suddenly? Psychatog used to be 1.50 at most for a near mint. Now suddenly all the listings are at $10+. Parallax tide was 20 bucks. Now it's $33. And so on for quite a few old printings and old cards. So on and so forth. Paypiggies and investors ruining the second hand market yet again for people who just want to play a game. Why don't those guys running the premodern events just allow proxied decks as long as they look good? Not even a 16 proxies or 12 proxies allowed. Just allow a deck full of entirely proxies given that it was ordered from a printing house for the $50-$100 to print good quality proxies so everything is readable and it's not just one player trying to decipher the other player's chicken scratch or shitty home printer cutouts. You still play what you want without having to pay the investor inflation prices for the deck.Even with non-reserve list cards being ran in the format there are quite a few of them that still haven't been reprinted and experience pricing bloat like the psychatog just mentioned. We're not even talking about a format that exist just to sell boosters like anything JotC is doing because no one can afford those boosters. The point is to play the game and it's best to just allow fully proxied decks as long as there are standards for proxy quality.

I plan to make myself a commander deck based on the recent sonic the hedgehog crossover we got, I basically plan to stuff as many of the cards from the set into it as possible and fill the rest with stuff that would work well with his strategy of buffing haste/flash and taking advantage of the treasure generation in some way, at the very least I want to have all of his friends in the deck that I can and their related cards, do any of you know what kind of stuff I should consider adding to be at least somewhat competitive with it? I mostly just play with my friends but they have some pretty good decks so I want to finally become a major threat like them, just not in a way that would ruin their fun
