Just peeked at FGO's ending and it was disappointing as ever. Japan never ceases to give the worst endings to the protagonists who deal with the most shit.>Fate Another Pretenderhttps://imgchest.com/p/6eyraqxrl4p>>97252517I will never understand the mindset of writing a decade of fiction just to end it with "ok, that's over, go back to being a wagie now."
>>97252503>TQ30% : 50% : 20%
>>97252519>endingI've never played a gacha but I thought gachas don't have endings? Doesn't it go against the concept of gachas?
>>97252519>"ok, that's over, go back to being a wagie now."Not even that, but Japan loves it when everything you did was ultimately meaningless in the end and changed nothing. The status quo resets to usual. All endings must end in nothing happening. Nothing ever happens or matters. The entire story can be about fighting gods and the entire universe being deleted but by the end of it you'll be back in modern day Tokyo with no one knowing anything happened or giving a shit because none of it really mattered. Except you remember it because your MC lost something because Japan always twists the knife one final time to fuck you over.>>97252525>I thought gachas don't have endingsThere's a main story that constantly got updates and new main story sequences and parts as the game went on for 10 years now, but the main story is finally complete. The gacha part is still there and I think it's still going to continue but just without the main plot. So it's now a "complete" game experience and what'll cycle through now is monthly gacha repeats of prior swimsuit events and such.>>97252519Also, I found someone mentioning the CYOA in the FGO thread, see pic related. kek
>>97252516Roots are horrendously balanced. What do you mean sacrificing the ability to produce any energy by yourself is only worth 10 points?!? How does a fucking world within yourself only amount to 10 points?!? Why does obligatory repeated courting death only give a measly 30 points?!?
>>97252535>Japan loves it when everything you did was ultimately meaningless in the end and changed nothingIsn't that even more typical of American fiction? When I think of pop media with "all humans die" and close endings, it's all jap works. Land of the Lustrous, Saya no Uta, Girls' Last Tour, Fire Punch, End of Evangelion, Shadow Star...
>>97252536>Why does obligatory repeated courting death only give a measly 30 points?!?You're supposed to be doing that anyway, you're a protagonist aren't you anon? Think of the hypothetical fans reading your hypothetical story, you don't want to feed them boring slop about how you stayed in a cave for 100 000 000 years until you went up one minor realm, right anon?
>>97252536>Internal Refinement Circuit: the power is your own>Geomatic Loci: make the power not your own for 10 points
>>97252519It has always been a story about fixing anomalies of the past and protecting "proper" history, return to the status quo was always perceived as a victory condition, no? The ultimate example of "villains act, heroes react". What else could you reasonably expect from a story like that? And what happened mattered in the sense that one of the most retarded plans in history of fiction wasn't realized.

>>97252688>No dude you don't get it, being a salaryman is the absolute bestYeah nah fuck off.
I was thinking a funny thought, what if Option A anon isn't actually Avalon and its only a distraction, and in actuality they are the rift in the final mission consuming the omniverse to fuel their waifu paradise
>>97252817No, it isn't. But seriously, what else you even expected with such a premise?I don't even play FGO, but this ending is completely expected.
