>>97256159>What are your predictions for 2026?TMNT and Marvel heroes will flop harder than Spooder-man
>>97256159>What are your predictions for 2026?Lorwyn Eclipsed is going to be Aetherdrift tier. Marvel will sell well despite spooderman's flop.Because god hates us.
>>97256159GODThat effect is actually perfect for my 4th doctor / sarah but I dont think I can run it.
>>97256173>Lorwyn Eclipsed is going to be Aetherdrift tierThe cards are being powercrept hard in order to promote the gayest set they've ever made (so far)
Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
Some day I'll own all the LCI box topper cards.
What's a keyword or phrase that immediately turns you off of a card?Nothing quite kills my interest in a Commander as "Activate only as a Sorcery." "Only once per turn" is also a real killer, but not as bad as forced sorcery speed, especially on tap abilities.
>tqLorwyn: Hybrid mana rule change officially implemented to seethe and applause. This will be the most significant part of the set as the rest of it will be very mid power with nothing exciting or noticeable about it.TMNT: Will be extremely strong due to some broken individual cards and some busted mutagen tokens shenanigans requiring a ban. However it will still have middling numbers due to general exhaustion with unpopular UB.Strixhaven: Mid set that will be rapidly forgotten.Marvel: the first flop of the year. It'll be a mishmash of unfun mechanics and tons of extremely weak cards. The Hobbit: Do you like food? You better because thisll be the meme set of the year full of silly jank support cards. Will be surprisingly fun. The biggest success of the year.RF: A lame attempt at creating an epic UW story that will fall flat due to nobody really caring about UW anymore and no build up and too long between story beat sets. Lots of old faces like Jace and Teferi, tons of planeswalker cards, a few busted new staples. Will sell well but will be forgotten rapidly.Star Trek: Will either be incredibly popular or a major disappointment, depending on how autistic they go into vehicles and other new mechanics with limited appeal. Won't flop, but if its more vehicle and nutrek focused than being closer to EoE with old Trek it won't do as well as it could.Regardless I'm looking forward to absolutely nothing from this year.
>>97256244"draw a card"give me a more interesting way to get card advantage
>>97256159now that's a card that will cause seethe
>>97256159>What are your predictions for 2026?Following the game during TMNT or Marvel will be utterly insufferable to the point it will be best to just avoid the community
I hope Star Trek is mostly the original and Next Gen. Given their slow turn around time it’s probably going to be a lot of STD shit.
>>97256173>Marvel will sell well despite spooderman's flop.>Because god hates us.Because spoodermon was a bad set with no good cards and was changed mid design. One day you guys will get this.
I have a card interaction question. If I hit pic related with Genesis Wave, does it's anti-mill clause trigger? It's going from the library to the yard, just being revealed first.
>>97256159>6/6 trample that's easily activated just by default with simic>for 3 manaGod the blatant powercreep is so fucking awful
>>97256322It'll cause the mill/shuffle trigger to happen. You're just revealing the top cards of your library, they're not changing zones. Also, fyi:>If an effect puts multiple cards from your library into your graveyard at once, put all of those cards there before Gaea's Blessing shuffles your graveyard into your library.
>TQ2026 Predictions>Strixhaven Lesson cards will suck because of concerns that Izzet will continue to dogwalk every other deck in Standard>The Arkenstone will produce an ever-increasing number of Treasure tokens in exchange for life, not unlike The One Ring>Smaug will be mono red, even though he should be mono black>Marvel Super Heroes will feature an Infinity Stone artifact>Star Trek will primarily be focused on TOS through VOY>Reality Fracture will feature mono black Gideon, who never died in this alternate reality
>>97256245Based.
>>97256159>any fantasy set will be OMG BBQ BEST EVER SECRET TUNNEL>any non-fantasy set will trigger apocalyptic meltys for weeks as people scream about wrong scrimblo brimblo
>>97256159>What are your predictions for 2026?Lorwyn does good because Lorwyn. Marvel does good because Marvel (fans not as rabid as FF fans, but still). TMNT will be Spiderman/Aetherdrift tier. Multiple SLD drops with super hyped cards/arts that will sell out that people will STILL fucking wake up 5 hours early for only to get shut out of the system because muh artificial scarcity

I don't usually play outside my group of friends, and we all see commander as a chill game where we don't take it seriously, even if we're all playing high power decks.>friends are busy yesterday>ok no biggie, my LGS has a commander night on Saturday>go there>get placed in a pod>one guy is straight up seething from the get go>angry because someone is playing a "toxic deck">angry because "everyone is targeting me">angry because "you shouldn't play like that here">literally just pissing and moaning the entire timeWhy are you playing this game if everything about it makes you angry? Is this a usually occurrence with randoms? I find everything to be amusing, even instant win combos. Even if I lose, it's still fun to see someone "do the thing."
>>97256383You're a rorschach test.
>>97256387A lot of pubbies get super fucking pissed if they're not allowed to "do the thing" unabated. It's why I never play at the LGS
>>97256261>Look at the top card or your library and then add it to your handIs that good enough for you, autist
>>97256261>Tutor a card and then put it into your handIs this supposed to be more interesting or what
Why so low? Good ramp in the command zone, I need to build a general Orzhov good stuff deck with him immediately
>>97256389In a way we all are. Every human is a mirror that shows us our true self.
>>97256415He's good, no discussion thereBut he's not very exciting as a commander. I've seen him a lot in people's 99
>>97256415I have him in the 99 for Burakos
>>97256415He's a 99 card. He isn't exciting enough to be a commander.He still has 1600+ decks which ain't bad.
>>972564151 health commanders with no protection are always iffy
>>97256387a lot of people get into the game on the concept of getting to play their ideal dream scenario and have zero interest or appreciation for the process of getting there.
>>97256415Like others have said he's good, very goodJust not enticing If you find him interesting, build it! But most people don't
>>97256449>two manaYou're going to be able to repeatedly cast this guy with ease. Especially when the deck makes treasures
>>97256462>>97256436Most of my other decks are Timmy commanders that are path to exile bait, I think I’d like to turn my Astarion deck into a Lotho deck
>>97256467Then do that? You're obviously interested, and that's all the excuse you need in Commander. That he's a good card is just gravy on top
>>97256159>TQReality Fracture will include Universes Within reprints of some UB cards (either as a bonus sheet or main set). Probably won't include Spiderman, but will likely include stuff like Fallout and 40k.

Anyone got a suggestion for an Artifact commander. I want to throw some robots and weird devices around. I'm thinking maybe Esper Urza, but does anyone have any other fun suggestions?
>>97256536
>>97256536Just "artifacts"? Or artifact creatures? Or equipments? Or mana rocks? This actually is important.
>>97256536Mendican Core Guidelight3rd/4th Doctor + Sarah JaneGolbez
>>97256527To "to fit in" I would have to be a coomer proxy running turbo faggot tranny, and I'm not.
>>97256543Thinking more artifact creatures, but I'll need a healthy dose of rocks regardless. I also tend to lean control, so ideally the artifact creatures would play into that.
>>97256559>acting exactly as everyone expects a stereotypical /pol/channer to actlol
>>97256563If you want something your pod probably hasn't seen before you can run pic rel with all the modular artifact creatures. They'll always come back (as long as she sticks) and the +1/+1 counters will just pile the fuck up. Plus she has red/blue for the typical artifact support, blue for draw/control, black for card draw/removal. And you can have >>97256542 since she fits the colors. There's also quite a bit of "creatures with +1/+1 counters" support out there

>>97256347>The ArkenstoneArtifact - Silmaril
>>97256696>What are you even flashing in thats so impressive?Doesn't even matter. The point of flash is that it leaves your mana base up during your opponent's turns. It has the added bonus of letting creatures get past summoning sickness and can turn big hitters into outright bombs. It's one of the strongest mechanics in the game.
>>97256315It's going to be like FF where it's the crew/some bad guys from each series, with 3 of them getting the vast majority of the cards. >Original series>The Next Generation>VoyagerMy guesses.
How do I build this slut? Her precon looks like hot trash. Should I build from the ground up, or grab the precon when it's cheap?
I cast Гyбитeльнoe Плaмя with an X cost of 6.Your response?
>>97256762general consensus from what i've seen seems to be that yeah the precon is unfocussed. Buy her card as a single and then build the from the ground up

>>97256897>the only issue with magic is lack of fake plastic tits

I disagree about Commander. I know multiple people who made a Tarkir deck. Zurgo, Narset, Teval and Betor
>>97256911i say more its giant ego to write yourself on every episode like for the last 4 months
>>97256879>Tarkir and eoe had their flaws, with exception to steel cutter neither set seemed to have a significant impact on standard or commanderI see way more Dragonstorm commanders in my playgroup and LGS than commanders from any other set from last year, barring Final Fantasy. One could argue that's because of having 5 precons, but regardless I see a ton of TDM/TDC commanders and 99 cards in my area. Zurgo is probably the #2 commander in my area that was printed this year, second only to Y'shtola. The set has heavily impacted my meta.
>>97256929I enjoyed tarkir and eoe draft too, tarkir prerelease I got an elspeth, alt art dragonstorm, and a voice of victory in my box, then opened a foil ugin from my prize packs infront of a guy who opened a whole collector box and didnt get an ugin. From my experience though tarkir had a problem with some people being forced into awkward 3 or 4 color piles without any good color fixing. >I know multiple people who made a Tarkir deck. Zurgo, Narset, Teval and BetorMe too, nobody runs them anymore. But not to say tarkir and eoe were bad, just a little less impactful overall.
>>97256536I AM THE EGGMAN THAT'S WHAT I AM

>>97257041I don't, but I'm about 80% sure I've seen this happen in Arena. There's a lot of deck playing with 200 cards, and I'm convinced what they're actually made for algorithmically tracking card interactions.
>>97257041I do 1v1 for my playtests so that I can get a sense of how the decks specifically match up against different archetypes, but, yes, I have something like 500 playtests recorded in my Excel workbook.

>>97257311100% true, Sisko's entire arc is built around it, and watch DS9. If you're on the fence just watch Duet, the episode >>97257299 posted, to get an idea of how good the show can get.
>>97257311Yeah they kind of went off the deep end near the end. Apparently the one villain was too well liked so they made him extra comically evil and imo ruined the show.
>>97257322I've seen enough TNG and Voyager to know that quality can range from dogshit filler waste-of-time to absolute kino, but:>No. of episodes: 176No fucking thank you. I don't even like watching anime that go longer than 2 cours, it has to be cream of the fucking crop for me to accept a 52-ep long series
>>97257340You can skip Move Along Home, that brings it down to just 175.
>>97257350Many years ago I watched The Clone Wars with this watch guide that said which episodes were filler/skippable and which were actually important for the story, cut the series down to like 1/3 of the running length. If something similar exists for DS9 then I'd think about it.
>>97257374Yeah, sure. Just pulled it up from google instead of looking for a higher res version and there are some quality ratings I don't agree with as well as some mislabeled under plot relevance(a chunk of the season 7 opening two-parter makes no sense without Far Beyond the Stars), but this works well enough.

>>97257469Yeah, that's the thing that really makes DS9 different from the other treks of the 90s. Not only does it have an over-arcing plot that is relevant even in many of the filler episodes, it also has heavy character development and actual arcs for the cast. There's a supporting character with 14 appearances who has more depth and a better realized arc than the entire cast of TNG.
>>97257481>Friends agree to run lower powered decks>One tutors out the Sanguine Bond/Exquisite Blood combo by turn 3Some people legitimately believe that if they're not pubstomping, then they're not having fun.

>>97257481Maybe he didn't know about the cards that had been added to the GC list and was going by the first list.
>>97257487>There's a supporting character with 14 appearances who has more depth and a better realized arc than the entire cast of TNG.Which?
>>97257481LITERALLY my one friend who thinks he has to run all the most expensive, most powerful cards in Magic or else "what is even the point in building decks, then????" Yes, he does get extremely pissed off when someone counters his tutors. Or removes his infinite combos. Or exiles his commander.
>>97257501Pope Space Karen
>>97257492turn 1 sol ring, turn 2 vito dusk rose from the cz, turn 3 exquisite blood is technically a 3 card combo so it's good in the lower bracketscomplain to gavin to not allow infinites before turn 6 if you're that miffed because as far as he is concerned if the probability is "low enough" it's fine
>>97257502I'll stop running esper sentinel and trouble in pairs when they make better draw engines in white.

>>97257511Yeah, as much as I don't want another a generic W/B Cleric that is really exactly how she would be represented in MtG. Hopefully they do something unique with that structure.Either way, if she gets a card I'm building her just for the opportunity to condescendingly address people as >My childI really think I'm going to make a disproportionate amount of trek decks for LARP reasons.
>>97257540>Yeah, as much as I don't want another a generic W/B Cleric that is really exactly how she would be represented in MtG.Ya, probably. Could be an Advisor. She'll almost certainly have some sort of "sac a permanent, do thing" effect.

>Brunt is just the UW reprint of pic related
>>97257604You mean Azorius, right? ...Right?
>>97257268The problem is more the difference between Fantasy and Speculative Fiction. The distinction isn't a strong one because around the turn of the 19th century, we got a lot of stories that we categorize as fantasy now but would have been considered borderline science fiction then. Prime example, Frankenstein and the Invisible Man, both stories a direct result of scientific empiricism. Lightning strikes a corpse because we once applied electrodes to some frog legs, and now our zombie is science. A man drinks a series of chemicals, and now he's a ghost made from science. But these guys are easily lumped together with mummies, werewolves, and vampires. It's the same issue with Magic, you create the power stones which are loose allegories for nuclear energy, and you've got literal mechas running about fighting dragons since literal antiquity.None of it is worth getting worked up about. The only difference between speculative fictions are the lengths people go towards explaining them.
