>>97292484It's WURBG so you can put all the elementals there, obviously. It would be shit if it didn't have all of them, and if she was WURBG herself the card would be unplayable.
>>97292491Yeah, it's an obvious case of them having to play around color identity yet again. They wanted to have an Elemental deck, they wanted to have Ashling as the face of it, so they have to put the symbols there in the card *somehow.*
>>97292491This card is fucking insane and has no reason to be WUBRG. It'd be novel if it just had that first line of text and was, say, temur. As-is it's extremely pushed slop that can combo or drown the table in value if you sneeze.
>>97292549>It'd be novel if it just had that first line of text and was, say, temur. If it had the first line it would be complete garbage because no Evoke cost in the game would give a singular fuck about the discount. >>97292467New Ashling is so busted. Anyone who wants that precon and hasn't already preordered it needs to do so before the full decklist is released. She's nutso busted and instantly the best elemental tribal commander. Precons are always worth more as singles than they're sold at, so any pricey reprints are just going to be gravy
>>97292614>she cuteWait til you see the Shriekmaw rule 34
when is the next unban announcement again?people are buying every dockside under $7do some people know something?
>>97292636People wanting to play her should also order a copy of pic related. It's probably going to be the best non-combo wincon of the deck, and it feels somewhat unlikely to get reprinted. And if it does get reprinted, you only lost a dollar or two.
>>97292635You didn't because you're talking about evoke cards when they have nothing to do with you. This gives your ELEMENTAL cards evoke, you retard. You're not running spitebellows.
I'm happy for new Ashling.I'm happy we even got a blue Ashling in the main set.But I want an Ashling for every color identity and an upgrade on pic related. Old single opponent design really shines through in this one. Could they not just Oracle it to be "each opponent"? Rankle&Torbran already does more on contact than pic related and its only something like 1700 in top commanders.
>>97292655>It's so heccin broken it combos so hard bro>tell me how*incoherent schizobabble yelling at hallucinations*Blocked.

>>97292714hello, MaNo! please reread character lore before designing cards, THANK YOU
People get lost in the weeds. Ashling isn't some god-tier CEDH raping meta ruiner. It's just going to ruin casual games, which is the backbone of the format. Just going t:elemental in scryfall shows you how you're winning in fucking WUBRG.
>>97292745>They untap, cast Maelstrom Wanderer for 4 mana, and rape you in the assSo your idea of a combo is to cast an 8 mana card... for 7 mana over two turns? Is casting Seething Song to cast Maelstrom Wanderer your idea of a combo?
>>97292743Reveillark is already busted. That's like spazzing out when a counters commander is printed because persist combos.
>>97292763Ashling lets you ignore colored pips for elementals and doubles your ETBs for them. Both are really strong commanders but if you get both in play it's insane.
Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon are not fucking land destruction and I am sick and tired of retards like Gavin and Reddit shitters throwing a shitfit over their greedy manabases and goodstuff piles getting fucked over because they don't pack interaction.
Wait, you guys don't get it keep your evokes on the board while doubling the triggers?LAWL.Wonder if he's going to go up in price, probably not.
Hes right, that Ashling is mid. Its not really that amazing.

>>97292419only good part of this card is when you sacrifice line, I won't be using that for elementals I'll be turning everything either into an elemental or changing it with artificial evolution. Pure combo piece with high potential for abuse with other creature types and token doublers.

The card is looking like it's poised to be like Bello or Hearthhull where it's one of the top precons of the year and doesn't require many upgrades to be an archenemy-level commander in many play groups. And honestly I'm happy for that, I've wanted a good Elemental tribal slop commander for a long time. What happens if you apply token conversion (e.g. Jinnie Fay) to a token doubling infinite? If you make a token copy of Doubling Season, as far as I can tell you immediately produce an infinite number of Doubling Season tokens; and since it's all doublings of a single original token, they'd all be created as a single batch.Anyway, how would this work with token conversion? Jinnie Fay can only convert whole batches at a time, but since it's still resolving as the batch reaches infinite size, theoretically she can convert the infinite-batch? Which means creating infinite Doubling Season tokens, letting them function as Doubling Seasons, then suddenly they're not Doubling Seasons and instead an infinite number of cats/dogs?I wanted to ask if it works this way because while it's the only way I can see to interpret the rules, the mechanics seem janky even for an infinite.
>>97292775Is there any meaning to the numbers here?

Honestly the problem with Ashling is that she leaves you completely wide open. Most Elementals don't make creature tokens or anything that can stick around as a blocker and everything she makes will probably blow up at turn end.
>>97293036>If you make a token copy of Doubling Season, as far as I can tell you immediately produce an infinite number of Doubling Season tokensNo, you'd make double of however many tokens.>make a cope of doubling season>instead make two>two enter>nothing else happens>next time you make a token you make 8 instead

>3 players left in game>player a has a giant voltron commander with trample and double strike, and an equipped Conquerors flail (on another creature)>player b has a big enough board presence to kill either player A or C but not both, also has a flyer - and has Path to exile in hand>player C has a lifelink flyer big enough to kill player A and the healing will put him out of player B's range>player C goes to kill A on his turn with the flyer, player B says he will use his Path to keep player A in the game, provided player A kills player C on his turn, which they agree to>player C argues this is a bad deal since A will just die to B after anyway, but the alternative is death and he might find an out from his draw so takes the deal>player A top decks an equipment that gives him lifelink. He follows the deal and swings at player C, who has one blocker. Player C is dead 100% of the time with no possible outs. However if he blocks , player A's commander will hit twice and therefore trigger lifelink twice, putting him out of player B's range. This does nothing to improve his chances of winning the game however, so ultimately just decides who winswhat should player C do there? C blocking basically dictates the outcome of the game, despite doing nothing to help himself. On the one hand blocking is 'technically' correct as its doing what you can to survive but it actually makes no difference. On the other hand not blocking means the voltron player dies on crackback from player B (we ended up with player C blocking , and player B had literally 1 damage too few to kill player A and lost)

Should this card be a game changer? It's too powerful...
>>97294561Supposedly. At least on tcgplayer
>>97295516It's tempo if >it's a specific threat that wins you the game if left unchecked>you intend to protect it from the turn it comes down to the turn the game ends>losing that threat sets you back remarkablyIf it's not all three, you're probably playing a variation of goodstuff or aggro. Voltron is technically a variation of tempo, for instance.
>>97294603You have 20-30 cards that have little to no synergy and too few lands. You should probably run more ramp too, ideally in the form of mana dorks since they are more cost effective and if they die it's not as big of a deal as it is in other decks.

Grave reaper sees fleshbag marauder entered the battlefield, and it was milled from the library earlier in the turn, so it comes back.
