With CoS and Ogres, I think so. Plus we got whatever's happening with dorfs/fyreslayers too, and we'll probably start getting teased by the end of edition campaign around the new year, like what has been happening with 40k and all the 500 worlds stuff.

On the 10 year anniversary of the game GW couldn't do a single fucking thing for it so I doubt we're getting any major story advancements now, especially with 40keks new edition on the horizon. It's going to be yet another off year. The only thing I'm looking forward to this year is *maybe* getting faction terrain lmao.

The problem is they price this shit like collectors kits for gundam or whatever where people are paying prices of good looking one off dispaly models they're not expected to have more than one of. But the way they write the rules they want you paying fucking $15 a 4cm model that you need 40 of. They used to make and price this shit with the expectation that a teenager could reasonably get into warhammer. Now only rich kids and adults with more money than sense can afford it.

I think the horns are cool but horns on EVERY rotsword is overdoing it.

When rotswords got announced, their lore blurb said something along the lines of

>rotswords have yet to receive enough "blessings" (mutations) to burst through their armor and grow horns like the Putrid Blightkings have
>they attach and bolt horns to their helmets as tribute and a sign of respect to Nurgle/Blightkings

Which is an interesting idea but it kind of makes them less special. ALSO the nu-blightkings' horns are visibly nailed to their helmets which doesn't make sense since they're supposed to have grown them.

I'm actually afraid we're going to stop seeing the other mutations on mortals
>single eyes
>gapings mouths on stomachs and hands
>three giant boils on the stomach or arm
>tentacle
>huge folds of fat
>single horns on the head
>multiple horns growing on one shoulder

I like the new disc shaped mail the rotswords got but the one with a giant of veil of it on his face looks really dumb. I also miss the raggedy mismatched look of the old blightkings. They reminded me of the Brave companions from ASOIAF or Glanton's company from blood meridian. It's much scarier seeing a band of giant mutated fat fucks with dull chipped weapons.

I get it. GW is trying to rebrand nurgle and it looks good, but I liked the kitbash potential of the old kits. It's a bit too homogenized for my taste but I'll still buy a box of rotswords or blightkings eventually and mix them in with my old dudes for more visual interest in my army.
>>
>>97328837
>Grease trap spearhead
>>
look guys I made a rotsword like another anon suggested a thread or two ago.

I had more blightking and blightlord bits left than I thought and the chaos warrior files I found have nice flat connection points that hide any deformities under the shoulder pad.

I don't even know if this blightking arm was left or right since it's so bloated. I just cut off the hand and put another weapon on it. The head needed some filing to fit inside too but it looks good.

>>97328837

I agree that some people would rather buy more a new unit than make 2 proxies so that might look fair.
But thing about what type of people you are trying to scam. They have to:
Want DW
Want pestigors
Be aversed to proxing/printing/buying 2 spare models second hand
Ignore your stupid decision to drinki their money like that

And for that you made the same unit twice, turning off some potential customers and wasting a change to put another buying incentive (like reworked lesser deamons).
I admit that warhammer players are paypigs but somehow it's GW that fight for scraps.
>>
>>97328837
or
hear me out here

they release mulgoth and templars as another unique unit
they have the underworlds gang as a second unique unit
and then they rebox the old blightkings into blightknights or something so they are a third unit that can stand apart from the new blightkings and new rotswords

why all these problems when more units is always better?
>but anon, gw can't stock them all
then keep these online only, who cares
>>
>>97328886
This works very well.
>>
>>97328906
it's not just that, I was thinking of paypig whale slop companies like Nintendo, Apple, Lego: they do everything in their power to attack and kill compatibility with external brands, but the name of the game to lure people in and lock them into the ecosystem is synergy and internal compatibility among all products.

Even accepting the "war" narrative of "Specialist Games" vs "Mainline GW", that only explains the spite and separation between some products (Old World and AoS for example, or 40k and Horus Heresy), but it doesn't explain phenomena like this (both products are Age of Sigmar mainline studio business).

Even when I set my brain to full greed mode I can't explain why Warcry and Underworlds and Warhammer Quest aren't 100% compatible and great value components for Age of Sigmar.

Maybe it's really just a case of "we need to keep all lines separate to make better graphs in our Powerpoint presentations and ledgers and people buying one product for a different game throws us off into utter confusion and panic and we can't tell what's happening to the sales anymore".
It's an absurd thought but the only real explanation that comes to mind.

weirdly enough darkwater was put in the "everything else" category of sculpts of the year, not aos, but where all specialist products made by the specialist team (blood bowl, necromunda, etc), and before you think that's a classification of the type of product rather than the team of sculptors, underworlds products were in the aos category and kill team in the 40k, not the specialist one
>>
>>97328967
What if it was produced before the split in departments then? And every weirdness is some kind of compromise between divorcing parents warring for their share?
>>
>>97328977
the anon you're replying to is implying that Darkwater happened after the split, not before, and that would make more sense.

Even though some "before" products like the old Silver Tower with the grotbag scuttlers underwent the same fate of "barely compatible and then scrub from memory"

the entire background about the spirefall, of how elves built a utopic society that fell and was reinvented from the ground up with teclis's new zen doctrines, is an inside joke about how all the work designers and sculptors did behind the scenes for the new aos elves army had to be scrapped and restarted from scratch because it all relied on gw following through with the death of slaanesh, but instead backtracked on it.

Was that ever confirmed by anyone? Even addressed in passing? It would be a fun spin on their history. I do wish they would’ve kept some of the pre-Spirefall designs, though. That leering mage standing over the other elf looks so fucking COOL in the art.

>>97329581
It's Eldar from 40k, complete with a Fall of the Eldar, but makes even less sense.
No longer aspect warriors but 'aelementals'
Also their current society should be less ancient than all of the Azur based human civilizations (because those are pre 'Fall' and the LRL reorganized after the fall) but the lore keeps acting like their society is ancient (once again it's not it's just stupid/lazy writers).

Warhammer World isn't the factory or design studio surrounding it. Realistically they should open factories in the US to avoid taxes and alleviate production issues from a nightmarish UK approval process which prevents them from just erecting more factories without a decade of prep.
Nothing states it's a factory.

They don't want to pay more tax in the UK, that's why almost all production is still there outside of the terrian or Books which are made in china

>Azur based human civilizations
they most definitely went through terrible losses and changes as well with the age of chaos.
between supply lines from other realms getting suddenly cut off, plenty of dead in the wars before the closing of the gates, miscegenation with the refugees from the other realms, and purges from sigmar's own agents.
Plus human societies change easily over time even without a drastic fall, unlike elven ones, so we can easily imagine azyr having aged past its golden era, while lumineth may have remained unchanged since the reformation.

It's arguably worse in 40k where the fall of the eldar is practically contemporary with the formation of the imperium, and both have stagnated since then but the general impression of the eldar is that they're older.

He means to say that the actual Lumineth species is younger than some Azyrite societies. Which it is. There was human and non-Lrl elf societies existing when Tyrion/Teclis set out to find more elves. Then they met up with Malerion and Morathi, fucked up with the IDK, then tried again with other attempts, and landed on LRL. I think writers often forget that because it’s so easy to fall into the same old tradition of elves being the older society. But post-reinvention LRL are VERY new. To the point where there’s probably many elves whose great or immediate grandparents lived to see the Spirefall happen and have their children or grandchildren in the Age of Chaos and be Reinvented.
I think a reformed elven society that is healthy and on the rise is a fun spin on the concept of elves.

Well duh, bascially every race has societies older than any elfs. You guys forgot that they were bascially extinc and had to be artificially re-introduced to a world where all the other races already lived in?
