ECL's design is so boring. After BLB and EOE I was hoping DFT would just be a one-off stinker but even DFT is more mechanically interesting (even if everything about the art and flavor is reprehensible)

Apparently the first 2 effects of the command cycle are supposed to be Lorwyn effects with the last 2 being Shadowmoor effects.

Me and my friend have been able to get the promo cards when picking up volumes in person, as well as when ordering from Amazon. The hard part is that it's hard to find copies in the wild because Wizards and Viz aren't pushing it as much as they should.

If you're looking to get the promos, you'll probably want to buy them volume by volume. With the release schedule as well, we aren't expecting to see the end of the manga until 2029. The fan translations are also a bit jank with typos and the occasional poor grammar. I still love the story though and imported the tokens and Wrath of God, since that's the extent of what I can get in terms of merchandise.

Finally willing to endure the cringe.
Lorwyn elves kept the same design. They wear green.
Shadowmoor elves wear poisonous flowers from the British Isles. They wear pastel.
The original Lorwyn set was very stylized so they had to come up with a style guide to make the kithkin look like the original.
The Phyrexian Invasion justified the Shadowmoor Kithkins' paranoia.
Golden threads are the currency of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor.
Lorwyn merrow were based on catfish while Shadowmoor merrow were based on lionfish.
Loch Mare is confirmed to be a kelpie and not a Each-uisge.
Creatures in the twilight zone become fossilized. Didn't see it in the set.
Lorwyn is now order instead of good and Shadowmoor is chaos instead of evil.
Based Nils Hamm ignored the art direction and did his own thing. Only Nils Hamm is allowed to do this.
The dragon was inspired by Irish wolf hounds. Dragons only exist on Shadowmoor.

Volume 6 just came out. 7 and 8 are preorder only I believe.

I grabbed a copy of Volume 18 + Promo from some ebay seller in Japan because I want the WoG promo but I'm also going to be buying the English volumes as they release too. It's a cute manga and makes me nostalgic for better days.

Creative use of first strike. Like, I have no attachment to TMNT beyond "I kinda like a couple of the games and Last Ronin seems cool" so I'm just judging by flavour and mechanics best I can. I don't really get the flavour of the ability without knowing the source for this specific version of Shredder, so.
