>Are orcs just misunderstood and oppressed? Not in canon D&D lore. Or at least for most of the existence of D&D.
>>97393560>TQI feel like that'll depend on the setting as opposed to DnD as a whole, but I haven't seen any Orc sympathy yet.The misunderstood scary people would be Tieflings and Half-Orcs.
>5 (five) warp witch encounter at lvl3fun times
>>97393560No, they're brutal raiders who prefer hewing through the weak and helpless. It wasn't until Obould Many-Arrows, an orc who was divinely blessed to be less of an impulsive fucktard than most of his race, came along that they even considered the possibility of semi-peaceful relations with other races. Then they started the War of the Silver Marches and a dwarven coalition force had to step in and kick their asses.
>>97393560Orcs are shit. Entirety derivative. Elves are people with long ears. Orcs are elves with green skin.I almost always use Goblins instead because they're far more whimsical. Often I'll use them a misunderstood. One of my favorite things that I tend to stick in is the Kingdom of Flowers. It is a Goblin settlement, usually in a forest, where all the Goblins like to adorn themselves with myriad colors and types of flowers. It's usually fae related and sometimes I'll place it in the Fae Wild. They are chaotic neutral and may provide the party with info or safe passage in exchange for a story or a joke.
I am not new to playing DnD 5e but I am sort of new to trying to actually roleplay my character. I have such a hard time because its hard for me to actually get in the seat of my character without it feeling weird. I am sure our DM gives us good chances for RP and I never really engage with it even though I want too. I think part of the issue is that I feel my characters are always lack luster and not particularly interesting. I am a fighter and I have a personal code of honor of sorts. Like comradery etc. All that seems not unique at all. What are some good examples of good roleplaying and actually shit roleplaying?

>>97394215You're thinking too hard. Just pick a trope and stick with it. I've played Fighters as a party face before. If he's an honorable warrior then think about knights and samurai and roleplay the actions and speech that those would do. Go out of your way to do things "properly" in social situations. Treat the dead with respect. Challenge people to honor duels. Always be the first one in and the last one out. Pay lip service to people's titles and lineage
>TQMy DMPC is an Orc Druid who is a member of a displaced tribe looking to either take back their old home or find a new one, and has been conducting raids on the other sentient folk in the region to support themselves while the chiefs argue politics and try to gain resources for whichever plan of action they end up agreeing on. Individual orcs (including those in power) may argue for cooperation with the other races for pragmatic reasons, but they come from a long line of conquerors and there are those who would stay true to that lineage at all costs.
>>97394508>and there are those who would stay true to that lineage at all costs.God, I fucking hated Garrosh. Making that little shit into warchief got me to reroll Alliance.
>>97394565I rolled Troll and thankfully got clean before Garrosh really became a central figure in the storyline, but my DMPC would agree. If my players interact with the tribe, it'll be interesting to see which camp they back.
