>>97397327>okay ignoring that weve had harems be a thing throughout history and all that, even some animal species have harems of multiple women for one guy like lions or gorilla's and moreThis is not a real argument. Irl harems were viper's den of political machinations, and polygamy hasn't been the norm for most human cultures outside of rare exceptions usually spurred on by outside factors. Polygamous cultures aren't exactly happy either, just take a look at Mormons to see how well that turns out, or the average polycule. Males in those kinds of species aren't exactly living the high life either, they get chased out once they become old enough. I'm pretty sure Mormons do that too.

>>97397388you seem to have ignored me ignoring our history of harems which were mostly for the good of the realm over the good of the person until it gets out of hand and people start vying for power or women in that systembut again ignoring that all, the point i was trying to make is that polygamy and harems are just as natural as any other sort of intimate relationship, monogamous or poly, and thats not going to change just cause you refuse to acknowledge italso your reasoning about males being chased out when old, yeah, that happens for women two, if an animal starts getting old enough it affects their performance they usually either leave on their own or die from a fight or hunt going bad from their lacking performance, nature has no room for the elderly, this used to also be followed by people but we got rid of it a while back cause we had the resources to allow them to keep living and could tell nature to shove it, although that very act seems like its starting to fuck us as well given the world situation but i digressi dont even know why this convo started desu i just wanted to point out what i noticed with what you were saying, personally im probably of the monogamous sort and the paired for life sort for the most part anyways, but still im not going to outright say harems or poly relations are entirely wrong especially as i have seen poly's work out pretty well, and such relations are just as if not more natural than monogamous ones (only like crows and whatnot are truly monogamous technically), and sometimes systems demand such relations be made for the good of the highest number of people, etc etc
>>97397602Bro no one cares and no one askedGo jump off a cliff or get hit by a car idk
>>97397558It's a pretty fun cyoa with a lot of variables to play with and craft the story you want. That said, while I have had a few ideas over the years of possible builds, I have ever only finished one since whenever I get to the powers section I lose all motivation to actually finish the character. It's incredible how the power section is the one that drags it down, even if the powers are thematically appropriate.
>>97397627Have you read The Gods of Pegana? The powers can be appreciated a lot more if you know the lore.https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/8395/pg8395-images.html
>>97397627>whenever I get to the powers section I lose all motivation to actually finish the character.I just read up to the powers section and already my enthusiasm begins to wane. That's... That's a lot of bullshit to sort through. I'll try to persevere.
>>97397413>>97397682There's also: https://rentry.org/jrpg_traitor_informationhttps://rentry.org/jrpg_traitor_information#how-the-setting-works is particularly helpful for making sense of the powers.
>>97397682I can appreciate the powers just fine and alot of others probably can two even if they dont quite understand how big of a deal some of this stuff is like meeting the dreamer for instanceI will say though gods of pegana will make the underlying lore of the setting make alot more sense especially the really old stuff before the auspices and whatnot

>>97397820You know what, at least these are always uniquely entertaining in their unabashed horniness.
>>97397682Again, I understand the Gods of Pegana references and it's clear JRPGanon did a whole lot of research to make them all, which is very impressive and the cyoa itself is among the best out there. But the issue is how this is still ultimately a cyoa based on jrpgs using the book as the basis of it's lore and the power section is simply way too large, redundant and gives you so many points that you won't even know what to do with them all. It feels as if there are two different but parallel mechanics that have little to no connection between them, first you actually build the adventure you want with party members, events, endings and the like, and then there is the power section that you could completely ignore for that.
>>97397865>and then there is the power section that you could completely ignore for thatHonestly, the way the story is structured, you don't even need to pick powers. Pretty much the entire narrative runs on tropes and characters. If you pick Monk, you can imagine what a Monk can do at that power level. Picking specific powers doesn't help with fleshing out your own story, it's just pure numbersfaggotry tacked on top of purely narrative cyoa.

>>97397865The powers are the means by which you accomplish the adventure. The two are certainly not separate. Your dislike of the powers is coloring your judgement.
>>97397865You always just nerf your point pool, if you feel like it invalidates your adventure.

>>97398037>4, 2, 5, 1, 6, 5, 6, 6, 4, 1, 1, 1, 5A large blue quadrupedal low-slung dragon with a head like a bat, wings like a bird, and gaseous breath, which sleeps with eyes wide open and has horns. It feeds on livestock, lives in a barrow, and when slain and its blood drunk, will teach you the language of the birds.Feels like it could be improved. Maybe something about its attitude - is it relatively placid, fucking enraged, harshly territorial, or what? The bird language blood thing is also a bit off. Doesn't feel like it fits.

>>97398119you were talking about the breeding aspect thoyou didn't mention anything about the furry dom parts, of course that's not vanilla
>>97398080That was a thing in Werewolf, not so much the obsession with conquering other splat's women. I guess that I dislike it because the main challenge is being built to seduce or subjugate women. You'd notice that women are miles less threatening than a burly apex predator, you're playing as a loser who picks fights with the weak.

>>97397996As cool as this all is (well sans the dierolls cause i dont particularly like gatcha's like this)But like, what the frack original anon, why cant dragons be goodNot only do we have in media dragons turning into people meaning they probably should just think like people (and maybe become partners for various people but eh)We also have in media the coolness that is dragon riders going into battle astride mighty beasts of draconic power and awesomenessTheres also the eastern ideas of dragons being benevolent and teaching rulers and important people how to not suck and also be good people themselves etc etcInfact thinking about it im pretty sure the only culture that considered dragons as evil and to be exterminated in any capacity was christian mythos and thats basically it and they kinda hated on alot of cool stuff over the yearsIs the hunting of mighty beasts cool, yes, yes it is, even dragons ill admit to thatBut personally, i think the other bits of dragon media and myth are cooler, like who doesnt wanna be taught secrets and wisdom by a dragon, or ride into battle atop the mightiest of mythical creatures, or to have litteral dragons blood in your lineage, etc etc

>>97397974I don't dislike the powers I simply think that there are so many and some so much stronger and versatile that all builds will just have a ton of superfluous powers that add nothing to the theme you are trying to create. Like the final forms, technically if you are meant to be a final boss type character you only need one or two, but you can easily get 4 or more if you want to.
