CSM players, do you run more than one squad of Legionaries? I've been liking how a squad of 5 supports a Lord, but my other 5 have kinda just not done much.

Wrath of the Rock? Slow moving but tanky as shit, while hitting hard. Though if they spec too heavily into their tougher units, they'll have trouble doing objectives unless it's a bike list.

Shit I want to change in 11th:
Improved terrain and LOS rules such that the current tournament terrain layouts go away.
Granular points in the form of points-per-model and/or wargear points costs.
Some form of force organization chart.
Remove all re-rolls to speed up the game. If HH can do it, so can 40K.
Expand the universal special rules so you can stop typing out the same exact rules on dozens of datasheets.
Remove fliers and anything that was formerly a Lord of War choice and relegate them to a separate "Apocalypse" supplement.

I'm getting absolutely none of this, am I?

>>
>>97430905
How well do the colours flow from these? The idea is neat but I'd worry about getting that highlighter effect where you can see the strokes of the marker or little gaps where you missed it
>>
>>97430905
I bought the brass marker but it only gives me some weird yellow shit instead of brass
>>
I'm interested in starting 40K because my friends play and the models look cool, but the emphasis of dice rolls in combat really turns me off. Is it not that bad?
>>
>>97430905

>>
>>97430939
You live and die on your dice rolls. You could play perfectly and still lose because of them.
>>
>>97430905
>I fucking wish they make more colours;
Just fill them part way with some kind of medium or flowaid and then top up with your favorite speed paints and contrasts. The tips are replaceable, the internals washable, and are infinitely refillable
>>
>>97430939
The "You Go, I Go" system is more annoying than dice rolls.

While you can sometimes get screwed on a dice roll, movement is completely under your control and the factor i find makes the most impact.

>rinse
woah what a tremendous hassle that was
>>
>>97430939
Nah the dice rolls make it more fun. Everything is made more exciting when there is a chance to fail. Stops the game from just being chess where the whole game is decided by movement and so you can come back from horrible first turns just with some lucky rolls. Means you're more likely to play out a game rather than having lots of conceding early on because you moved your guys wrong or didn't expect an opponent to do something
>>
>>97430968
Surprisingly even. But little spots like this are the things I was worried about. I'm sure you could get rid of them with a brush touched to the tip of the marker and then feathered out but it's another step in the process that I know at least for myself I would be fairly frustrated with
>>
>>97430793
Niggas will claim GW doesn't try to push leftover stock in CPs
>>
>>97430970
Nta but generally the people using a lot of speed paints or are beginners let the brush dry out too much and end up with caked ferrules. And brush soap isnt great for clearing that kind of paint buildup out
>>
I'm actually planning on doing the retarded "1 million minis" pledge. I have enough stuff in my backlog to last a lifetime if I don't step it up. I guess I average around 20 painted minis in a year.

yeah the rerolls are garbage, I'd honestly love a "perfect information" homebrew where you have units always hit for a specified amount based on unit cost and lore and shit, balanced around the idea that there is no chance to it.

Of course certain faction can keep their dice, I feel like it's important for Orks with their exploding dice, and for Sisters to get their miracles. Otherwise it would be nice to get an optional version of the game closer to games like Into the Breach or Advance Wars, where you can plan the game around guaranteed damage and retaliation.

>Some form of force organization chart.

I think we're too far past the old force org chart to go back to it, but something could work. Maybe take horus heresy's army building system but simplify it a lot. Could have two types of characters, commanders and support. They would unlock battleline units but commanders would unlock more. Battleline units would unlock everything else. Maybe have a special rule or keyword to determine how many units are unlocked. That way the system could be tailored to each army. IG for example would need to get more units unlocked at a time.

Are we ever going to have anything in 40k set around huge water worlds? I don't even mean water planets with earth underneath, I mean mostly if not all water. I mean planets of nearly 100% liquid or APM 08279+5255 levels of water vapor everywhere. It doesn't need to be planet-shaped either. It could be a giant blob of water or liquid. Maybe some DAoT underwater city within.

As a guardfag, in imo opinion, not a lot of regiments don't "fit" the current trio. Like what will Vostroyans even do? Oh they have extra special rich people weapons? Fuck you want, +1 to hit? Do you even KNOW what you want Desert raide- ok Tallarn is kinda based I'd say you can give them perma stealth and say they use the sand & dust kicked up by the battles as a smokescreen or something. Mordians? What will they do look extra handsome? Really think about what they could possibly bring to the table rules wise before begging for Steel Legionaries when they're just Yellow Krieg on the board

Painted or unpainted?

If its box'd you can give a discount to sell it all at once (think 70% MSRP or something) or if you want to sell it at MSRP sell it piece by piece (you will have to beat the 15% discount LGS often have).

If its painted it depends on how well. Painted armies sell much slower but if its well painted you can get more for it, it may just take a year or two to find a buyer. Most people prefer unpainted minis so they can paint them themselves. If its badly painted / has 3D print bits / extensive kitbashing that usually lowers the value tremendously.

Worth less than the box cost. All the other advice applies. You wont get MSRP for them. My honest advice would be to advertise the lot for 70% MSRP and sit on it to try and move the whole thing at once because its genuinely a lot of work to sell and ship models piecemeal. If you have supplies, cheap shipping, and free time to sell them one by one you can sell them for more.

Facebook marketplace is a good place to do bulk sales as well if you are in an american city. Theres also troll trader and some european specific model trading sites.

My list is really simple and it's built around loving tanks and flamethrowers. But this is 30 points over the 2000 limit. I don't know what to cut, since the sacresants aren't worth it without a character and the cheapest thing to cut is the hospitalier. I could just cut the entire Hospitalier+Sacresants+Rhino which frees up like 275 points, I could just take celestine or something fun instead and be under points. 275 is also enough for the Triumph of Saint Katherine which would be cool, but this list isn't really built around a walking centerpiece, everyone has a transport and I usually go around fighting over objectives so the Triumph doesn't really fit.
I had a list I was pretty settled on that I used a lot but the recent balance update changed some points values so here I am.

Morhven Vahl leading a squad with multi-meltas.
Hospitalier leading a squad of Sacresants in a rhino.
Infantry squad with flamer+heavy flamer, four times.
Immolator transport with flamers, four times.
Castigator with cannon, three times.

I think it's a good thing to keep old starters in rotation as combat patrols. Let's people continue running the old models because they're still in print and also allows new people to pick up the models they may have seen around that got them interested. As much as it's a logistical nightmare, I think retiring as few moulds as possible is the best thing for the hobby but likely sucks ass for the warehouse and production guys

They were intended to be a references to the three lost Roman legions that died in Teutoburg forest so maybe both their fleets got caught in the warp or real space and just annihilated. Perhaps the Emperor was less cold and distant back then and struck them for the historical record because the grief was too much. A few Pharaohs did the same thing when their beloved kids died and they are a just a hole in history so it could be an0other historical record.

I think that's still pretty stupid.
>they did something really really fucked up
Like what? Half of the primarchs went traitor and became corrupted by Choas and did incalculable damage, death and suffering to humanity which it would never recover from and ultimately the traitors were the reason why the Emperor is basically dead.
What the fuck would be worse than this?
But regardless of that
>but despite doing the really really fucked up thing, they also did something that redeemed them from the same thing
Like fucking what?
Somehow the thing the lost primarchs has to be more fucked up what the known chaos traitor primarchs did, but somehow "not bad enough" that they could still somehow "redeem" themselves from doing that really really fucked up thing?
It's just sounds really stupid and extremely contrived.
Which it definetly is, because more you actually think about the 2nd and 11th, less shit makes any fucking sense.
It's one of those things in 40k that has unironically become more and more stupid and kind of shitty as 40k has gone on and as more lore has changed over time too. And it doesn't help that the more we get little nuggets of information on the lost primarchs which sometimes contradictatory or make no sense.

I get that the 2nd and 11th were made a reference to the 2 lost legions of Rome, but also then they also existed as way for fans to make their own marine chapters/warbands. Which is extremely ironic since basically nobody does that because it is, rightfully, seen as VERY contrived and largely makes no sense, since nobody would know that the chapter/warband is descended from 1 of those legions.

Basically 2nd and 11th have kind of gotten ruined over the years, precisely because they are a mystery, but they are also the type of mystery that GW will never reveal, and even if they did reveal anything there would actually be nothing since it is pretty obvious that the writers never intended there to be anything "behind the veil" so to speak.
>>
>>97433058
>What the fuck would be worse than this?
>Somehow the thing the lost primarchs has to be more fucked up what the known chaos traitor primarchs did
No one said this but you. Nothing GW has ever made has EVER said the missing pirmarchs were worse than the traitors. That's just fan speculation thats becomes everyone headcanon but its never even implied. They did SOMETHING before any primarch fell to chaos, and then did something else that was deemed good enough for whatever crime they did to be forgiven and forgotten.
Maybe a legion did a coup against their primarch and killed him, or were tricked and then the legion lead a heroic invasion, siege and conquest of the last great Rangdan city (Since the Rangda wars are a Punic wars reference) so by doing a 40k siege of Carthage they were forgiven. Theres no reason they did something worse than chaos worship

>Somehow the thing the lost primarchs has to be more fucked up what the known chaos traitor primarchs did

No it doesn't. It just has to be something that happened on a small enough scale that it could be censored and/or to have happened at a point where the Emperor was still alive and active after it had happened.

The Heresy was a galaxy wide shitfest. Deleting that from history would be fucking near impossible. Now on the other hand, let's say that one of the missing Primarchs did something like, refuse an order to wipe out a planet of humans that refused to submit to the Emperor. Let's say that he rebelled and lead his Legion against the Imperium, but Emps sent Russ and the Wolves at them and they were wiped out. The whole event takes place in a single star system and half the Primarchs haven't even be found yet. That would be significantly more easy to cover up and delete records of.

But even then, that's assuming that the Emperor wouldn't have removed the Heresy from historical records if he had of survived.
Let's say hypothetically that at the end of the Heresy, the Emperor had of been able to bitch slap Horus so hard he stop existing, without also dying himself, he may very well have returned to Terra and started issuing orders and edicts to censor the traitors and remove them from history.

Especially when you have Leman who literally went against the Emperor's orders and decided to listen to Horus for no reason.
