At least, until humans realize that being licked/bitten/scratched by the witch makes you have a panic attack and see weird shit. Alright, this is somewhat lore/worldbuilding question, but ties to my CYOA in a rather important way: Suppose the gunpowder gets invented in a low-magic fantasy world and things progress to the level of, say, 18th century tech. Would it be reasonable to say that most monsters and such would be just completely cleared out of civilised lands? Even if nobility in the kingdom has some magic in their blood (of magic knight variety, not full blown wizards), would the warfare still favor tactics similar to what happened in real world? Would nobility try and preserve their inherited magic by separating themselves from the commoners ever harder? Would they bother making the, er, magic academy specifically for that purpose, or just accept that it's the age pf gunpowder and steel? Would gunsmiths form their own association or be absorbed into Alchemist Guild? Assuming that guns can't be magically improved (at least for the time being) outside of making consecrated bullets or whatever handmade stuff that's created for a very specific thing.To be clear, I'm talking about the world where magic a is rare talent and is mostly elemental manipulation/self buff/curses, not actual reality warping conceptual get fucked retard thing.
