They obviously want to limit the amount of cross compatibility for sales tracking(?), and I think they're utterly stumped on how to replace a who army in a way that makes people feel like they need to buy the new ones, without making the few existing daemon fans crash loudly about having their whole army deleted. I'd imagine a lot of the discussion revolves around whether it's better to replace all the daemons at once, or do it in pieces. Doing it all at once means all the news hits all at once, and so there is one meltdown to deal with, however it would be a big deal to squat the main troops from 4 seperate armies at the same time. If they do it seperate then they can temper the meltdown, however, people interested in daemons may become scared that their favorite daemons are going away, and stock up on them before they're squatted which also eliminates them as a potential customer when the replacements come out. It's a really tricky thing to deal with, and frankly I have no idea which option makes more sense or will be better or worse for the factions and fans

That will create depth and punch the details back. After that, just highlight on the raised surfaces by adding the original colour. That will be a solid tabletop standard. Pretty solid foundations to begin though, you're keeping mostly within the lines so to speak, which is more than most people.
