>>97460438i remember the nemean reaver
>>97460438>TQ I haven't cared since they removed rules for making your own, special characters are for ninnies. Post models! I'm working on these last two krioses, after these I can't avoid it anymore and have to go into the tech thrall mines to finish my mechanicum.
>>97460745>Post models!Primed my rapiers, raptors, and some remainder models that needed made blue. Wont get them painted in time for my game tomorrow, but thats me at no more grey models. We are /bluetide/ now. Until some scouts arrive, in which case once more some greytide.
>>97460438Knights errant are lame and gay.
>>97460745nice job west coast anon, i'm having a go at the new breachers, the kit is pretty nice
>>97460776YOU'RE lame
I like that pistols are more relevant. Some sergeant might shoot a plasma pistol in the shooting phase, then half-fire it again in the volley section of the charge.
My friend is offloading 20 of the older cataphractii terminators and I'm trying to figure out what loadouts to give them in a World Eaters force.I was thinking of making 5 or 6 of them Terminator Command with Chainfists6 with Powerfist+StormbolterAnd another 6 with Lightning Claws but I don't know if that's worthwhile when I already have 20 rampagers.I was thinking maybe convert 6 or 8 into red butchers.I was also thinking of using 1 as a PraetorThoughts?
>>97461042>ChainfistI don't trust melee as antitank, but maybe it's just a WE thing they have enough attacks for
>>97460438When fluffing up campaign characters what’s a good rule of thumb for point costs? Working on some ideas with friends and I’m wanting my special snowflake to be a duelist type character. Is a rule/wargear that lets him always hit on 3+ to good? Was thinking 25pts. Lord knows 5th ed wolves getting it for 10 was kinda dumb. For 2nd edition heresy, if it matters. Each player gets one gimmick to add to their warlord. Along with standard fair. Also, anybody got the 2.0 legacies pdf?
>>97461119I figured the 3 attacks (the +1/-1 offset by WE vs Chainfist) each on 5 models at S10 should be good against a lot of vehicles. But, then again, I'm paying almost 600 for the 5 guys + chainfists + land Raider.Fluffy? I think soEffective? No, I'm probably better off with three Vindicators or even a Kratos + other stuff.
>>97461119DESU i think them going "LOL chain fist is 1 attack" was a fucking mistake.
>>97461166Same, but -1A is easier to implement than -1 offensive WS. I don't know how else they'd implement chainfists being more cumbersome than power fists.Because the goal was to make chainfists, thunder hammers and power fists be equivalent to one another, so they gotta be priced the same
I was bored so now everyone gets to suffer from this HH2 pic. I also added the 40k gal and greyfax that everyone and their grandma uses for kitbashing SOS.
>>97461121i think it's fine. it's not as good as hatred or a +1 WS. will you give him a master crafted weapon ?
>>97461166I don't think it's chain fists that are bad, it's just that there's exactly 3 AVs for them to target: av10, which both power fists and chainfists can demolish twice over but chainfists are slightly worse against, AV11-12, which is rarer and chainfists have advantage over but again, for every vehicle with it power fists can also just barely do the job, and AV14, where power fists do nothing while chainfists tear it apart. The problem is when you bring in non-vehicle profiles, power fists can hold their own while chainfists are severely crippled because they'll wound on about the same number. Personally, all I would do is tweak the shred on chainfists to 5+ and leave it alone, so it remains the anti big thing specialist and becomes more effective against dreadnoughts, daemons, automata, and tough characters. Though I guess then you risk Jo schmo master sergeant terminator chosen champion with a chainfist actually killing weaker primarchs with a potentially D4 lucky finishing blows...
>>97461257>Though I guess then you risk Jo schmo master sergeant terminator chosen champion with a chainfist actually killing weaker primarchs with a potentially D4 lucky finishing blows...salamanders can already do that, it'll be fine
>>97460438>Thread question:>Have you forgotten about Knights Errant?Never
speaking of salamanders, are they the most overtuned legion in this edition ? they have :>best legion trait>very good reactionvery good armory>good special prime>firedrakes are good, pyroclasts are good>vulkan's a killing machine>great legacy unit (sanctifiers are one of 3 infantry units across all 18 legions to be ws5 outside of retinue/elite)>passable gambit>good auxiliary detachment
>>97461257>D4 lucky finishing blows
>>97461353>>firedrakes are goodI think they are okay. Don't they die to thunder hammers just as good as everyone else?
>>97461450thanks to the legion trait they don't by a small margin. dark gods help you if you charge into one though, ws6 s8 a4 is very very nasty
>>97461500Oh right, their trait. Wait, WS6? A4? It says WS5 A2(+1) throooone keep me, Selfless Burden gives them all of that and more. And it can't be denied by the setup move. Wew
>>97461546vulkan on selfless burden might be the only primarch able to beat horus ascended in a duel
>>97460745>Post models!Just finished up a rotor cannon squad for my World Eaters. I was planning on running them in 2nd ed, but never really got around to it. Are they still worthwhile in 3rd?
>>97461254Dunno yet. I'd be stupid to not grab a paragon blade or great frost blade, but I do enjoy flavor. Still in the planning phase tho. Gotta see what everyone agrees on for conversion limits. Might be able to grab something spicy.
>>97461591Ehh, they're good but in different ways. On one hand their status applying ability isn't as strong, but it's easier to apply since it just needs to hit, not do an unssved wound, and it'll still help your weater brethren stay safe by forcing snap shots. I'd try and run the unit as 2 units if 5 if you can, so you can try and suppress 2 different units each shooting phase. Even better if you can get a Herald in to apply fear to the enemy and make them test suppress on a 5 or less.
>>97461591Rules wise they're kinda underwhelming for the points investment. Damage output is low and the status they (might) inflict is situational. Cool factor is high though, especially for ZM.I agree with anon >>97461735, two squads of 5 seems like a smart play if you want to use them.
I WANNA FIGHT TITANS SO FUCKING BAD BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE I'M SICK! SICK! SICK FROM NOT PLAYING TITANICUS!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>97460438I like that you can field an entire KE army now just by giving them the KE Trait even though it doesn't do anything.
>>97460438>TQThey were always the most boring bit of the HH and I hate Garro's character so I hope I can forget them someday.
>>97461916What, which book has the KE trait?
>>97462263How can you hate Garro he snitched on Horus rebelling to Dorn when he ran from Istvaan III, he is a hero just like Loken and Saul Tarvitz.
>>97461353what if the guns were swapped with phosphex guns as a prank haha
>>97461249The SoS kitbashing guy was cool, really liked his dark eldar guns into needler wepons kitbash.
>>97462291NTA, but under garro in legacies it says you can pick knights errant as your legiones astartes type, it just won't confer anything
>>97462309Wow so lazy just play blackshield rules instead

>>97462479Somebody actually saved my shitty meme image, kek.Personally think it's fascinating that certain things (co)created by traitor primarchs remain in use within the Imperium into the grim darkness of the far future, like Magnus' Librarian project or the terminator mounted cyclone missile launchers invented by Perturabo.

>>97462796Anon was a friend, who actualy helped others this time. For free too. I kneel.
>>97463458Are plasma canons mounted on infantry any good in 3ed? I had a friend who used them, and MM on his DG in 2.0, but he quit the game.
>>97462796>>97463576about time this general got an adaptation of this may may
>>97463619nothing mounted on infantry is good in 3ed except for thunder hammers and terminator armor mounted on WS5 infantry.
>>97463619A single plasma cannon in a unit not so much, but once you get 4+ plasma cannons in a single unit they begin to get scary amounts of hits that will kill infantry through sheer number of saves alone, not even considering the Breaching. A HSS of 5 with plasma cannons can clean up a tactical squad in one shooting phase if two or three stand just a little to close to each other, seen it happen many times. Blast weapons are just not cool with how accurate they've become this edition.
>>97463658man. and here I hoped to have a DA firewing army based around Despoilers, Assault space marines and jump pack companions.

>>97463822>best piece is the poorly painted EC LeviathanGrim. Dark, even.
>>97463822Sometimes I look at rules, releases and articles by GW and I think that they either do not play their own games and/or they think that their player base is people who are buying only the last 2-3 editions current plastics, build the way they are shown on the box with some sort of "narrative", but they never turn the narrative in to actual rules. So if you do build you cool all terminators army, you get to play vs the regular armies and lose over and over again, till you build the same army everyone else plays. I just don't know. Maybe it is just me being stupid or it is a gigantic cultural difference. It is like here are breachers, they are cool. And I am like, and where am I going to use them when I have to spam line 3 tacticals and have no slots for line 1-2 infantry. And GW gives articles, but they write them as if somehow lore was mixing up rules. They resilient and powerful, but I am running the math and they are not (especialy vs the extra point cost comparing to tacticals).
>>97463822CML at home:
>>97463843maybe it is one of those "You can play/paint you army, even if you aren't good at painting" advertisment. Which I guess can work, if you just collect and keep the models at home. But everyone knows that you can be Giraldez, and people will call your stuff shit, and people at the store will not play you, if your IF have the wrong shade of yellow. But GW can't tell their buyers that. You need to learn that yourself.
>>97463822I like this one.
>>97463822>>97463843That's rough. Also, ECs in purple metallic finish sounds neat theoretically but always looks kind of ass, doesn't it?
>>97463847GW famously has (or had) an extremely casual/fluffy internal meta. Its not unbelievable that people there would play all terminator armies.
>>97463863I prefer ZML

>>97463458The plasma cannon looks like a big fat throbbing cock wow
>>97464099No it doesn't you're just gay and cock addled.
>>97463847Well considering you're probably a cheating polish subhuman if you think tacticals have line 3, your experience is not representative of the average heresy player
>>97463197There you go Anons.https : // we . tl / t-RFRv4cxR8OI was lazy and put more than just Cataphractii. It's all Wilph though. If anyone else has his other stuff, I'd love to get it too. Thanks!
>>97464212Honestly don't understand why polish anon bothers posting here, it always sounds like they play some weird version of warhammer form an alternate even more doomed timeline over there, which has nothing in common with what the rest of the world is playing.
>>97464290he's running the math
>>97463822these are good, simple scheme that really plays into the greco-roman legion theme well
>>97464331Credit where credit is due, the new plastic breacher shields look pretty good. Though this could be due to GW having lowered my expectations of HH infantry designs substantially.
>>97462965Since nobody anwsered I went ahead and tried it on a test model.Middle is pure Akhelian Green over a preshaded silver metallic model(nuln oil then drybrush).Left is the same but with a X-13 zenithal.Right is one of my current method, Akhelian Green with Contrast Medium 1:1 over Leadbelcher with Runefang Steel zenithal.I like the effect a lot, but maybe worth going over it with Akhelian Green again to make it more... green.
>>97464343the hands being separate from the arms actually makes them a straight upgrade, since they can be used on other or even old armours too. It's not easy, but it's possible. The new boarding shields are actually quite good.
>>97464725Yeah, the only downside is that you don't get more than 1 graviton gun and 1 lascutter per 10 shields. Thankfully I still got some of those in resin to build a proper veteran breacher squad.
>>97464744Well, I don't much care for the new bolters, but that's by the by. I also don't care for the grav gun being redesigned purely to make it easier to do in one part. The Lascutter looks okay?
>>97463923Somehow I think the legs on that dread are sufficient, unlike the Castraferrum's? Why? It's a minimal amount of femur and yet that's enough. Castraferrums simply have no legs at all mang
>>97464343>the new plastic breacher shields look pretty good.I will be charitable and assume you are legally blind.
>>97464873Because the leviathans are rescaled castaferrums retard kun, this was just bsck in the era where GW wasn't so brazen as to rescale your army every 10 years and say fuck you this is the new standard time to rebuy goyim
>>97464233thanks, is there a timer on it or anything? i'll have a look when I get home
>>97464878What issue do you have with them?

>>97464878I think the shields are the least "offensive". The new helmets are dogwater.
>>97464923A full day normally.
>>97464899>leviathans are rescaled castaferrums
>>97465036And there you see the problem: every subsequent attempt to "fix" the castaferrum has to avoid not being the leviathan again. It'd be like if evolution was made by narcissists who really tried to avoid carcinization so they could be original
>>97465059Fat contemptor is still just a fat contemptor.

>>97466059Yeah, i added the rocks for more varied texture, either going to be greyish mountains with grass or a more deserty looj
>>97465837i have a similar plan to make disintegrator vet squad good by sticking a thousand son saturnine centurion inside
Is this list WAAC/oppressive? How do you guys get your spray paint mixture to be the same every time? I swear my airbrush produces a slightly different color every time I use it.
>>97466219I don't think it's OP but I think you fell for the vanguard is bad meme and you're going to crumble to literally any army with even just like assault marines. Your whole army is literally just some marine bodies, a Kratos, and a unit of contenkar and that's it
>>97466398Yea, its not a really durable list, nothing outside the kratos can take a punch. But its a fair few marine bodies, and the vets/terror squad should be able to do that "mid range brawling" with the likes of assault marines and despoilers.
>>97466418And anyways, the weaknesses of the list (which im sure exist) dont really interest me, im more concerned with whether its OP and something I shouldnt take to casual games. I had someone complain that it felt like they didnt get to play the game against me, and I want to know if thats due to the list or simply the way I play (premeasuring and so on)
>>97466254Well, if you're mixing different paints then make sure to get the mix exactly the same each time, same as if you had been using a brush. If not (or on top of that) it sounds like you're either getting not-quite-good-enough opacity so the appearance changes with the exact opacity and whatever colour is underneath, or you have a paint that changes a bit as it dries and you keep comparing the previously applied paint to the not-yet-dry paint you just applied. Or both.
>>97466454>then make sure to get the mix exactly the same each timeThats the bit I cant really figure out. How do you get the EXACT mixture the same?
>>97466469NTA, but I use dropper bottles
>>97466219And the list in action. I felt like my opponent had a pretty nasty army himself (WB malefics supported by SA armored collumn with some mechanicum priests to buff/heal). we misread the mission we were playing so raptors scored 16pts over two turns, but thats besides the point>>97466500So do you just pour the paint from the normal bottle into generic empty plastic dropper bottles, and then that gives you a more accurate level of control?
Any sign of a Ruin of the Salamanders scan?
>>97466508>and then that gives you a more accurate level of control?Yeah? I can control exactly how many drops of paint I mix in. How do you think chemists do jt?
>>97466538Fair enough. Should have probably done this before I ended up with several shades of blue on my models, but better late than never.
The more I think about it, the funnier it gets that Grulgor the Meathead seems to have become a daemon prince some ten thousand years (and counting) before Typhon, despite not really trying for it.

>>97467002probably about 2% of GW's sales are to 'serious gamerz' so it makes sense they don't have any care if the game is actually balanced or good. All they care about is that the models and rules are at a level that someone who doesn't know they suck will give them a try. Once you've spent $150 on rulebooks and $500 on minis to play your first game, you can't get your money refunded even if the game blows donkey cock. Hell, GW LOVES it when you buy an army for $1000 then they make it unfun, nerfed, uncompetitive and torture to play, because there's like a50% chance the plastic addict won't quit the hobby but instead will react by picking up a 2nd $1000 point army purchase or a 3rd one, saying "GW you really fucked up on tyranids!!! I'll buy an ork army and a space marine army to have a good time!"

>>97467185you just don't know shit, they themselves have said more than 70-80% build and paint things without playing.Of the people who even play at all, 90% of them will be the ones who play maybe one game a month at most. So yes, 2% is an entirely realistic number.
>>97467227Ok sure but how many of those 70-80% are repeat customers? How many of the repeat customers are ones actually playing the game. Is running a unit of 5 legion command squad terminators with thunder hammers still considered WAAC in 3ed, the way it was in 2ed?
>>97467736Thunder Hammers aren't as good against vehicles but are still practically VEQ/TEQ killers. There's far less time for a deathstar to deal enough damage in 3.0 as well, instead you'd be that guy if you were spamming Seekers as DA or AL.
>>97467574NTA but when you don't bring big expensive vehicles for a porphyrion to blow up it becomes a complete waste of points. Its main weapon is a mere 4 shots now, no longer blast. >>97468391Repetitive strain injury at worst. Lascutters and meltaguns not having recoil also reduces the possibility of health consequences from use.
>>97468336I personally thought it was a reference to napolionic sappers.
>>97468350anon, in most civilised countries women have a ban on working with stuff like jack hammers or mining drill, because it is extremly detrimental to health of even men. And neither one of those are used to cut bulkheads. Even if you reinforced the muscles and armour, the vibration would screw your brain, it would be like being slowly being KOed every second. And the the damage to the wrist, elbow and shoulder joint on the "chainfist" arm would be brutal. Probably kin to working with heavy duty tools for years condensed in to a few seconds.
>>97468441>in most civilised countries women have a ban on working with stuff like jack hammers or mining drillWhat happened to emancipation? Get those women into the mines, they are demanding equality.
Did Mezoa ever get a canon colour scheme? Can't seem to find one.
>>97468441>sorry, girls, health and safety gone mad has banned us from using highly effective metal cutting tools due to potential vibration damage>here, use this axe in stead to chop at the metal until you're through
>>97468462No.However, we know they adopted flames and fire as part of the iconography due to their volcanic homeworld and by the time of 40k both their moons are used to train up Tempestus Scions known as the Lambdan Lions. The Lions often serve alongside side or directly under the priests of Mezoa. If I were painting Mezoa I'd combine the colours of the Lambdan Lions with the colours of fire and ash. Something like red or orange armour and black/dark grey cloth and silver trim.
>>97468471NTA but there's probably reasons nor related to health and safety as to why SA don't have chainfists. Mind you, not even space marines in power armour can use a chainfist, only marines wearing terminator armour can. There could be some sort of power demand or leverage related reason for it, though the in-universe explanation seems to be that chainfists are so slow and cumbersome that you will get hit before getting a chance to connect with a swing. Wearing terminator armour would reduce the chance of getting killed before ever getting a chance to land an attack.
>>97468462not directly, but being founded from Lucius you'd expect a similar schemethere are the Lambdan Lions, based in orbit of Mezoa, who have... basically the Lucian scheme

>>97468496>>97468483Thanks for the help anons! I'll give it some thought, combining fire and ash, Lucius' colour scheme and the colours of the Lions into 1 scheme won't be easy but I'll make it work.

>>97469101That is a sick DA dread. Yours? The HH colour scheme goes insanely hard.

>>97469147Indomitus.Cataphracti is just weird, saturnine is laughably bad designwise and tartaros is just okay I guess.
>>97469144Yes. The black contrasts very nice with the bone, red and green spot colours, and some checker patterns make it more interesting too.
>>97469147I think Tartaros might be my favourite, though it's not super clear cut.Indo and Cataphractii are both really good, though I can't say I care for their redesigns.Old Saturnine (Or Nocturne or Unidentified Terminator Armour) I'm vaguely fond of. New Saturnine I dislike with a passion.
>>97469147They all have their charm, but Indomitus has to be my favourite.
>>97469147I place Cataphractii and Indomitus on the same level for different reasons. I like the idea of OG Saturnine, but GW fucked it like always with their 30k Centurion suit. >>97472371i'd say about twenty instances of toad infantry of whatever flavor in individual models is the limit of a tasteful assemblage of them desu, three 5x sentinel/guard/hetaeron kits with a group of three aquilon terminators is where i drew the lineone or two dreadnoughts atop is permissible, a telemon was my pick 'cuz it's cash and cool as hell and massive and a super centerpiece unit in their assemblythey're a small basal/allied detachment sort of army list in my eyes but if one wanted to go ham in doing something larger i wouldn't be that offended even if it comes off as a little silly as the pretense of governing a mass formation of them is yucky to my sensibilitieshard no on the tanks and other vehicles personally as they seem more at home in the setting of the great crusade as opposed to the throes of the heresy
>>97472558I was thinking of 6 dudes in a coronus, plus a tank, to mimic a kill team. I'd end up with a suprlus of dudes who would just become painting projects like any dreadnought I'd get.
>>97472618centering a cell around a carrier could be very flavorful
>>97472625If the coronus gets a modeled interior it's gonna kill me. I've got a hard on for mobile command centers regardless of how impractical they actually are, but I've also made a dedicated transport for all of my 40k kill teams because it's just Cool.
>>97472654there's a lot of room in scenario for a fairly sole group of them rolling around in a grav-conveyor and the plastic kit soon to come does indeed look fucking rad. little suggests it won't have a pretty dank interior. the forge world one does.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE9mshOlvuI

>>97472696I wasn't aware of this interior masterpiece. big thank for posting!
>>97471276Those helmets look really nice.
>>97474272cushined plastic layered seats, instead of hard metal. How feminised. They started doing this to our APCs 2003-2004. Sadness.
>>97471530we would keep tools, oily rags , cans of alcohol in those boxes.
>>97472371>before they're forever gone?As with the other anon said, despite the Custodian Guard kit being released in the Prospero box originally - their aesthetic has permeated itself into the Wardens, Allarus Terminators, Vertus Praetors, Blade Champion, Trajaan, Valerian, and of course the more recent Shield-Captain Manlytears. The plastic dreads and vehicles look neutral enough, and the Venatari are pretty lightly armored anyway, so the visual dissonance isn't as huge other than no matching greaves. In regards to how 40k will react specifically, I think anything can happen from this point.>it's still unclear if Custodes will keep the same Forge World immunity as Knights in 40k with 30k models>the army isn't exactly popular in both games>neither 30k nor 40k players will give too much of a fuck about what style you prefer and run for your infantry (outside of future units in the former)>40k does a GOTCHA as predicted; 11th Edition sends 30k era models to Legends despite the army arguably not having enough to support itself (then again, look at WE/EC/Votann); this is doing the same jew stunt they did with 30k Kratos and Leviathans in 40k from 9th to 10th>alternatively, there could even be a chance that the 40k-specific models get squatted instead, as more 30k equivalents return in plastic>also, 30k boxes come with more infantry models by default, and future resin to plastic infantry will probably be in the new styleIf you're paranoid, then maybe stock up on Custodian Guard if you prefer the old style? Or print. In the meantime at least, I think that Wardens will stick around for a while longer and they look mostly close anyway, shame we don't have Hetaeron Guard moving forward. Guards are also in the current 40k 10th Edition Combat Patrol and that likely isn't going away for at least another year or so.
ally melee phraetus squad ft. herald into night lords to sit and stack honor challenging/hold obj while fear aura buffs shooting at whoever walks up on them from afar sound ridiculous or unfun conceptually ?
>>97474990The whole strength of phraetus is that they don't need a character attached to do their thing, joining an allied character to the unit causing their leadership stats to be lowered seems even more counter-productive.
>>97472451>cringe if trueGW is actively phasing out Chaos Daemons because of how much they want to segregate the model ranges. Their bean counters hate nothing more than people being able to use the same model for multiple games.
>>97471530It's where they store their snacks and treats.

I wonder what made GW give the idea that a "ice" weapon should be better then a Terran/Calibanite Blade. especialy at the cost.

Can Casterferrums or contemptors be armed with grav canons?
>>97475650No, contemptors can have graviton guns in their fists but that's it. Only rapiers and predators can have graviton cannons iirc.
Think we're gonna see a Mk IV Dreadnought in plastic?
>>97475680Only a matter of time. Plenty of people that would kill for a plastic HH castraferrum dreadnought kit with all weapon options, and if even fucking tarantula sentry guns get plastic models...
>>97475743So far all the Dreadnoughts were pretty faithful to their resin counterparts, right? I just hope we don't get another Cata situation.
>>97475756The plastic dreadnoughts have been almost the exact same as the resin variants. It seems that it's mostly the marine infantry that gets a needless redesign, custodes infantry being the other.
>>97475771At least the nuMk IV seem to be looking pretty faithful, judging by the rulebook illustrations.
>>97475680>plastic castraferrum for 30k>complete redesign>looks like miniature redemptor>but even worse
>>97475793Back to /40kg/ with you
>>97475793GW didn't even dare redesign indomtius terminators for 40k pr*maris marines. They know they can't fuck with some designs.
>>97475836Then explain all the redesigns they did to HH models. Even the Indomitus got some changes made to it, though small. Besides, they're not touching the holy MkV Castraferrum design, only the FW MkIV design.
Has anyone been able to fit a combi-bolter into the new pods? Would, for example, a Rhino cupola hatch with the twin-bolters fit into the ceiling, between the struts?
>>97475850Nobody has to explain anything to anyone. Fuck off back to your containment general.
>>97475892Dunno, ask /40kg/.
>>97475892Haven't heard nor seen anybody buy those ugly pieces of crap.
