>>97472435I know she doesn't have horns more fitting art is welcome
>>97472435TQ: If a card doesn't cost $5+ I might use hobby glue to affix a better artwork but something about just printing a proxy is off-putting to me.
>>97472435Made this frame too
>>97472444checked never thought about that. How is the result?
got a random 40 dollars credit added to my account at the LGS. what do i get?
>>97472490depends on the amount of prep you do, you can find some pro examples online that look indistinguishable from a normal cardmine were probably amateurish, idk its been almost a decade since i tried and all my old shit got thrown out
>>97472504Should probably clear it with them first
i'm annoyed that tarkir 2 came and went and orcish bowmasters didn't get a mardu-themed reprinti get that they aren't gonna put it in standard, and i understand that there wasn't a bonus sheet that setbut we have secret lairs nowthey could've done a secret lair with orcish bowmasters and four five-cent commons in the tarkir showcase frame, and it would've sold out in ten secondsbut they didn't
>>97472543why?
>>97472628ntsa but a random amount of money being added to your account is suspect.
>>97472435>TQNo, I don't do that. If I don't like the art I don't play the card. That being said I don't blame you. That's a big upgrade.
>But 2 boosters>Hallowed Fountain and Meek Attack
>>97472679Nice. Meek Attack is very fun with Famished Worldsire.
>>97472659true, but my LGS is reputable and fairly large. they do international shipments and are the biggest one in the country. if it was one of the smaller stores in the area that i go to, i would clear it with them. but they are a big store (and have always had good customer service in my experience) and i am not worried about ripping them off, being ripped off, or some other fuckery. i am just gonna take the win.
>>97472679I got two in one Collector's booster. One is a fracture foil. Seems like a lot of mana to spend for the effect. Is it just because it's another sneak attack effect in red?
Does this look good. It's my first time building a Commander deck. https://archidekt.com/decks/19508448/brigone_soldier_of_meletis
>TQNo. The literal card quality is bothering me. They changed the paper again in lorwyn it’s thinner and it’s even worse for curling. Non foils cupped completely out of the pack the literal fucking weekend they hit the shelf. Astonishing. Finally the last magic product I buy. I even opened the mythic artifact I wanted and I’m still done. There’s no saving this game anymore, you can’t even play with the literal playing cards.
>>97472717It costs two to activate because they do have to still kinda pretend they are trying to design balanced cards.
>>97472717It a sneak attack effect in standard.
They really need this card in MTG.
>>97472718Anyone? I'm looking for tips to improve this deck before I go forward with buying it. Also another question, is there a better place than TCG Player to buy Magic cards? I've always used them for my bandai games, but I've seen multiple sites listed for magic.
>>97472832What now?
>3 people in my pod of 5-6 are all building 1k+ Ashlings decksThis is going to be miserable unless I put torpor orb in literally all of my decks.
>>97472885Let them fight
>>97472882Nah a free reanimator spell at instant that removes all the abilities of a narrow creature type and mana cost.
>>97472435>using the hybrid frame for a gold cardNah, fuck off.
>>97472885Flavor of the month philistines are dumb and bad. I suggest building Nemata edicts.dec and locking them under a grave pact because they are gonna have a hard time building a board presence if they evoke all their shit.
>>97472912>free spell Ummmmmm nyo
>>97472885Start diddling with their cards
>>97472927Yes. It only works with a particular VERY niche card in yard and only during combat. In mtg it can be countered or negated. I'd settle for an instant, but in yugioh it's on a body, and it recurs itself when the creature it reanimates dies. And there's another one that procs on any activated effect or played card AND you run it with this fucking guy who summons himself for free when a creature dies, discards a card to blow up a card (both are positives) AND special summons himself if he dies, which also bounces the creature back to your hand.I'd settle just for the combat trick in mtg.
>>97472958Whoops, wrong image. For comparison, he's like a 9/9 in 20 life mtg.
>>97472920>>97472476
Magic needs this guy
>>97472307This includes mana abilities, doesn't it?
>>97473166yes. it shuts off mana rocks.
>>97473162YES.
>>97472832I really like YGO's artstyle when it leans into the spookier elementWhen was this printed? The aesthetics make me think early 00s but not with that effect, surely
>>97473162You know, the Dragon Rulers probably wouldn't be so hard to translate into magic. Just a dragon for every attribute that also has escape. Mutate is visually similar to XYZs but it's not in practice. I'd like to see how something like that could be done.
>>97473162>name is literally illegibleI know it's reflective so it's fine IRL but man that looks dumb
>>97473180Dark Spirit Of Banishment is pretty recent. 2019. Part of a small wave of support for a retooled Darknecrofear.
>>974731802019, apparently. Maybe I'm just nostaligic, but I feel the same way about earlier mtg.
I'm building a Boros tribal goblin deck with Gut as my commander because I'm a retard.Should I run pic related, since I have it, or just say fucking it and get cather's?
>>97473237Kinbinding is worse but it's also far less of a pain in the dick to keep track of, which is its own kind of reward. Why go boros for goblins anyways?
>>97473261>Why go boros for goblins anyways?White has a lot of stuff that protects your board and helps tribes in general.
>>97473261Nta but Rise of the Hobgoblins is based
Been thinking about building Mairsil and now I'm wondering, how do I do a "combo" deck at B3 or B2? For that matter, how do I play combo without being a huge obnoxious nigger about it?On one hand, I have a terminal johnnybrain and think Rube Goldberg machines to give yourself massive advantages are the sickest shit in the game and that's 100x more interesting to me than yet another +1/+1 counter stacker or making 50 billion [tribe] tokens. On the other hand, "I have 3 cards I win" is boring as fuck and I'd rather kill myself than put Thoracle in a list. What's the trick to finding a middle ground here?
>>97473317Enable the combo in a fun way. A nondeterministic storm setup is the way of true happiness. It is, however, the worst shit ever for a casual to sit through and they will cry, but fuck 'em, the compromise is doing it shittily so you dont do it good and blow them out.
>>97473317>>97473402sorry but being a terminal johnnybrain is by definition a huge obnoxious nigger wasting other people's time with solitaire masturbationany spike will do the right thing by ending the nonsense with thoracle or something
>>97473467Your Krenko deck is VERY cool anon
>>97473467Not wasting anyone's time. Stop me from doing it, then you get the joy of seeing me sad AND get to keep your time intact. If you wont or cant, your time cannot be wasted because you did not care about it in the first place during deck design.
>play combo>ugh it's not fun>play control>ugh it's not fun
>>97473527Sounds like you dont like edh.
>>97473527Play battlecruiser
>>97473504timmy is better off having a spike enter the pod instead of johnny because at least if timmy loses spike doesn't waste their time, johnny is NO ONE's hero lol
>>97473549Spike projecting his self-image onto others as he tutors his combo again.
>>97473531NTA but one of the most disappointing things about Magic is realizing that the best way to play Magic is to stop your opponent playing Magic. If you are letting your opponent take game actions you are playing suboptimally.
>>97473549And why should I care about the most coddled, precious, least skilled, least attentive player'd opinion?
>>97473564Self-love is important
>>97473548but some battlecruisers are better than others and timmy knows thispresent yourself as a policeman of sorts taking down the "obvious target" and timmy will like you more even when you beat them
>>97473561>>97473564>Spike projecting his self-image onto others as he tutors his combo again.>And why should I care about the most coddled, precious, least skilled, least attentive player'd opinion?like any poker player shark worth their salt spikes want fish swimming around the pod to farm wins from and it's in spike's best interest to keep timmy happy even if he loses constantly, dumbass johhnies can never comprehend this wisdom
>>97473317Had this fucker back in like 2020 and it was so much fun, but my play group detested it.
>>97473569I'm not codled at all? They never print fun cards designed for me or rework entire formats around what I like.>>97473586I think the mistake you're making is that I'm not capable of playing at a high level; I have instead chose to do insane things so I enjoy the process of winning so I am not bored.

>>97473720You are absolutely right. Unlike magic, I usually dont care what any card says unless I'm familiar with it and accept what's happening. Even judges suck at yugioh rulings for this reason.
>>97473317i must have made this in like 2018 or 2019it's still valid, with the caveat that i took out the hidetsugu/pillar bug combo and i now run staff of domination instead of torchlinghttps://scryfall.com/@777/decks/36d0618b-a862-4c0c-b6c4-c87e7a97b701

>>97473942Is that really the same thing? How is that the same type of interruption?
Does this card go infinite with Isilu if it dies with persist? It comes in with a +1/+1, , the -1/-1 removes it, he sets to 0/0 and it dies, then it comes back with persist and repeats the process.
>>97474013It draws the game

got in a couple games with the auntie ool precon i've heavily modified and unsurprisingly the deck functions so much better when you have reliable ways to get -1/-1 counters out there
>>97474240Okay.
>>97474180Sounds like a total fag who just wants to do the thing instead of having a good time. Also sounds like an idiot who expects a game to only last an hour is realistic.

I wanna build a deck with flip Terra, but I fucking hate WUBRG. I get why they did it, but I wish they had just kept her Gruul. What are some good sagas that touch grueling, like include G or R or both and another color? Figure they're got enough gay dorks that i can easily fix for 1 or 2 mana at a time outside of my main colors
>>97474301Great going, anon.

Feeling bored and angry, might draw something. Does anyone want a design for custom sleeves? I can't draw humanoids and I can't spend more than a couple hours on it. Patterns or symbols in a particular art style would be easiest. You would also need to tell me what dimensions to make the image so it prints right.Goonslop will be ignored entirely.

So for some reason setting up and executing a sudden instant win with Frodo Sauron's Bane is exciting as hell for me. Feels stealthy. Feels intense. It's fun. What are some other "create difficult circumstances to instant win" decks are there besides Etrata and Phage. Phage doesn't seem fun and Etrata isn't very suspenseful.
>>97473764>>97473944I fucking love these and need more of them

>>97474816Extort
Who's the most fun Faerie commander? Talion is the coolest without a doubt but he doesn't synergize much with the rest of the tribe
What is the minimum of a creature type for a deck to have before this is playable?
>>97474826
>>97474830Most tribal decks are going to be looking at 25-30 creatures of their tribe if ETBs or board presence matters.I would say I don't think this is a good card and it is massively overvalued right now.Realistically it's going to come down too late in the game to matter. There's plenty of other ways to draw cards, and elves especially already have no problem drawing on ETB (pic related) in fact it being on cast on not ETB is a significant drawback.+2/+2 first strike trample also doesn't matter in most circumstances. It's not enough to be a finisher, and for like 2 more mana you can just be casting spells that end the game instead of this. For the sake of argument, turn 6-7 would you rather topdeck Chronicle of Victory or Craterhoof?I think if it said creatures of that type had some kind of protection it might be better. But yeah, realistically this is coming down towards the end of the game, you're probably not going to be casting many more creatures of your tribe anyway. It doesn't close the game, and what it does do is done better by generic cards.
>>97474826They built pic related to basically shell around Alela Cunning Conqueror.I already have an Alela deck and I'm not taking it apart for Maralen, I'd rather build an elves+fairy deck for her and avoid repeating too many of the cards I already run in Alela. But that's my personal tism. Objectively I could put Alela in the 99, pic related in the command zone, and just cut a bunch of shit to run the best green cards and it would probably be a better deck than Alela
>>97474850It's overvalued but you seem to be under the impression that 6 mana = turn 6. This is not the case, and especially not for Elves.
>>97474871Yeah, I'm fucking aware cunt. The only reference I made to turns in the post was "turn 6-7" which is when the bracket system says a bracket 2 game can end.If you're ramping with elves you still ramp into a wincon instead of casting this shitrock for 6 and drawing like 2 cards off creature casts.
>>97474881>>97474850>>97474871>maybe I just like the card and want to play with it>maybe I'm not playing green>maybe artifacts matterJust give me an answer instead of bitching about it. 25-30 is typical? Ok. What is the minimum?
>>97474893>What is the minimum?100. Run 100 creatures anon.Fuck off if you're going to cry about someone discussing the merits of a card you posts. >>97474762Pic related. There's a shit load of cards that care about life being at 13. They're not even good in Standard where the life total is 20. >>97474908>You typed up several paragraphs of information that was unwanted without answering the question1. I did answer the question, you even fucking quoted it in your reply.2. You gave absolutely no context for what you were running, so I generalized. I didn't even say you had to be in green, I just chose it as a very common tribal color and made points around that. Everything I said stands to reason no matter what fucking colors your in. 6 mana is close to wincon cost and every color has access to generic wincons.3. - and this is the big one here anon- don't get pissy about receiving more information than you asked for when you're literally begging for scraps on 4channel

>>97474322Bracket 3 is bracket 4 with a budget. Bracket 4 is non-meta cedh. You should understand this by now.
>What you think budget means: Deck costs less than $100>What your opponent thinks budget means: Deck costs less than $10000
>>97475229I've always considered anything under $200 budget
Building a deck for an LGS, they're doing 50$ CEDH where everyone submits a list that is 50$ or less (based on TCGplayer prices, minus shipping) and then competes for prizing. What would be the best bang for your buck commander if it is purely win focused? I was looking at Magda since she seems to paradoxically be one of the most played and powerful commanders, but her support is so narrowly used by her that no other deck wants it. Are there any other big ones I'm missing in this range?

Anybody have a Ygra combo deck? I'm having trouble deciding what's important in it. Feels kind of like a mess right now.
>>97476088I haven't built it yet, but I've been thinking about it since realizing that half the pieces needed for infinites are in the Encyclopedia of Magic secret lair. I think it can hold up well as a sacrifice goodstuff deck with Ygra there to enable a game winning combo. Not too different from the Pioneer Ygra cat oven decks. Little room for more artifact synergies, but still in the sacrifice theme like KCI.

>>97476364You're right, that is a great song by Aborted. How did you win? Did you take crontrol of a big damage spell like Crackle With Power?
So I am fairly new at magic but one thing I dont get is why should I play so much removal? Isnt it better to have a deck full of problems my opponents need to solve instead of wasting my time solving problems when I cant solve them all anyway.
>>97476412Hells yeah! They're sick live too, I saw them with Archspire and they stopped the show at one point because a guy got fucked up in the pit. I am making a "Ureni of the Unwritten" deck and i am unsure how many protection spells or counterspells to include in the deck. Is it better to just keep counterspells for protection in a Temur deck? Or it's better to balance it with things like "Heroic Intervention"?
I want to live in a world where this is a viable way to close out a game.

Thinking about building an Amalia deck because I really like this art. How do people normally play her? Low cost mass reanimation?
>like the new set and its mechanics>but all my existing decks are several years old and developed enough that there aren't any real replacements to be made>only maybe one of the new commander options gets my noggin joggin, but not in a way that interacts with other cards or mechanics from the setfug
>>97477650What new set? TMNT? What decks?
today's mail packaging report>envelope containing invoice and cardboard shipping card protector, cards in penny sleeve and individual perfect fitsthis cardboard sleeve had adhesive and was kind of annoying to open, but otherwise perfectly fine packaging>envelope with shipping information sticker over flap and wrapped in packing tape, sticker was obviously ripped during application but didn't affect getting here>no invoice, cards in two cardboard shipping sleeves>shipping sleeves taped shut with painters tape, then wrapped in packing tape, then taped together top-to-top with packing tape so that the side you're meant to open them by was wrapped in tape3/10, got here without problem, worst opening experience humanly possible. easier to rip open the bottoms of the shipping shield things
>>97477530It had an open beta before it was canceled. Kind of a silly game concept where everyone plays as fledgling planeswalkers with three man groups for dungeons and quests and raid bosses
>>97477717forgot, inside the cardboard sleeves, the cards were in penny sleeves with painters tape over the mouth of the sleeves. please never do this.
>>97477649I like to build her as Mass Reanimation (The "Big Turn")Since Amalia acts as a self-mill engine, the graveyard becomes your second hand. The Payoff: People run "mass" recursion spells like Ascend from Avernus, Rally the Ancestors, or Return to the Ranks. The Chain Reaction: When you reanimate 10+ small creatures at once, they all enter the battlefield, triggering your "Soul Sisters" multiple times. This causes Amalia to explore rapidly, often hitting her exactly 20 power threshold in a single turn, wiping the board of everything else and leaving you with a massive Commander.3. Notable Synergies & TechLurrus of the Dream-Den: Often used as a companion or in the 99 because most of your core engine (lifegain dorks and protection) costs 2 mana or less.Self-Sacrifice Protection: Since Amalia’s board wipe is symmetrical (it hits your own creatures), players use Selfless Spirit or Boromir, Warden of the Tower to protect their board before she hits 20 power. The Infamous Combo: In 60-card formats, she combos with Wildgrowth Walker to explore infinitely. In Commander, this is harder to pull off but still a powerful inclusion if you can change the Walker's color or use similar triggers.4. Alternate Win ConditionsIf attacking with a 20/20 Amalia isn't enough, the deck often runs:Aristocrat Drains: Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Zulaport Cutthroat to kill opponents when your creatures die to Amalia's wipe.Aetherflux Reservoir: Since you are gaining life dozens of times a turn, this becomes a reliable "laser beam" to finish the game.Thats what I think anyway.

>>97478157>be obtuse as a challege on purpose?that is exactly what you are doing when you're not running a cedh deck. you are always choosing to not run the obvious optimal strategy because you're a normal functioning human who understands that there's fun in doing more novel things rather than what's well-trodden and obvious. I don't know if I can make this dogshit chaff from Ice Age works, the fun is figuring out if I can. I know that super staples works, there's literally no fun in using them.
>>97477649Post the pube edit
>>97478176No, actually. You can run a functional deck just fine that isnt cedh, and even in cedh there is a fairly large amount of variation other than the centralized wincons at the top. There is nothing novel about being mad that cards are functional and compentent. Nothing about the brackets other than 1 preclude you from running useful cards outside of itemized ones. This is a you problem, you should accept that, and keep the judgement to yourself. Particularly the fetches, the fuck are you doing? They give you so much utility between grabbing a triome, grabbing a surveil land, or grabbing utility lands with basic types on top of improving deck consistency by introducing shuffles mid game to change the set order. It's just silly to be mad about that.
