>>97503976Then you should know about boarding parties, naval infantry, etc. Sure, today their role might be quite diminished or delegated to separate branches working with the Navy, but through history (and we know 40k takes a lot from history) naval infantry was a much more prominent thing, used for ground combat as well. They would be quite light in terms of vehicles (separation of Navy and Guard), but you can instead give them Arvus Lighters and a plethora of fighters to work as fighters and combat vehicles, while the rest is few flavours of infantry, gun carriages, sentinels, and exo-suits.

>>97504050I'm sure you can whip up all sorts of industrial equipment together, but I'm trying to think from the perspective of an actual fighting force the Navy could deploy independent of Guard to assault enemy ships/stations or conduct raids on planets (rather than a prolonged military occupation). Anything heavier than a light walker would probably be a flyer. There's also grav-chutes and teleporters for deep striking your troops onto the table, Rapier style gun carriages to haul heavy firepower, various forms of heavy combat servitors for heavy infantry, etc. Unfortunately, despite Dreadclaw being a former Navy unit in the fluff and there being several models for drop pod style escape pods, I doubt they'd ever get to use any form of drop pod or drop bunker, because that's for Marines now and GW doesn't like people sharing stuff.Or just give them a titan power loader.
