Probably my credit card.

I used to trade cards with my friends and lot, but back when we were playing the Highlander tcg, I got a character card that I was really excited to use, a celtic lady whose name I won't attempt to spell. My best friend at the time basically bullied me into trading him the card because he had celtic ancestry, and I ended up with Nakano, who wasn't that great, and whose playstyle I didn't find very appealing. In the end, There can be only ONE! he barely ended up using that character, and I barely ever traded with friends after that.

What should be decided next?
Resource mechanic? Card Draw? Special cards (e.g. Leaders)?

Resource systems, draw mechanics, combat systems that sort of thing. The kind of mechanics that define the game.

>>97506012
I am beginning to wonder if instead of core mechanics it might be better to talk about the game's "gimmicks" first, as those should probably inform the core rules. After all, we can't settle on something like Digimon's Draw on digivolve if the game didn't have digivolving as its gimmick.
>>
>>97506389
it's hard to do because some rules are linked together, so we must explain the main rules and the specific rules
>>
>>97506472
and develop them hand in hand* (forgot to add)
>>
>>97506472
That's why I think the order in which we decide things is important. What we decide for our first mechanic will influence the voting on the next. Hence why I wanted to have this discussion, rather than arbitrarily deciding we pick resource systems first.

>>
>>97506389
>>97506497
resource mechanic isn't that important. thats for balancing. some games never even bother. push it down the list.

im o order of priority should be:
1) goal of game / how do you win
2) large structure. rounds, turns, phases, etc. how does it flow.
3) small structure. what can you do in a turn. what refreshes. how much can you draw. are actions capped. all that horseshit
4) basic card templates + vanilla units
5) then resource system and details
>>
>>97506497
>>97506472
>>97506389
>>97506581
I think we should settle on a theme before everything else. While bottom up design can lead to balancing issues (or is this top down? I can never remember), when you're creating a game it informs pretty much everything else about it. What the resources should be / what the creature should be / what the card should do / how you should win / pretty much everything else is informed by what the game is actually meant to represent. It's much harder to design mechanics in a vacuum and then create a theme around them, and conversely in every major game the gameplay is designed around the premise.
>>
>>97506581
>some games never even bother
Assuming this is who I think it is, you're making me want to put resource system first.
>>
>>97506619
This is a very good point. I'll probably go with theme for the next step.

>What the resources should be
My idea was more how the resources, etc. should work rather than what they should be, but I think the rest of your point still stands.

This sounds like a nightmare to implement but the part of me that loves Disgaea and Tatsunoko vs Capcom wants to see some insane numbers.
>>
>>97506894
IT would actually be super easy to implement. If we put a subscript 10 before the power number, then it becomes an exponent. You then have powers ranging from 10 to 100, in increments of 5. That gives you 20 numbers to work with and power scores that range from 10,000,000,000 to 1 googol.
>>
>>97506373
I love how easy it is to get a game thrown together on TGC, but their profit margins on randomized product are straight wack. I still have The Condemned listed on there, even though I have zero expectations of ever making another sale there. I set my MSRP for my boosters at $5, which is appropriate in my opinion. TGC won't let me list them for less than $7, and I get $0.16 of that sale.

If you get sales going, I'm happy for you, but don't hold your breath. Speaking from experience. Please don't assume I'm shitting on you for the lulz, I really want you to succeed. I just don't see TGC as the way to make money that you think it might be.

Yeah. It's great for prototyping and getting your feet, but you pretty much have to work with the Chinese to make anything remotely profitable. I'd rather work with an American company, but it's simply not financially feasible.
>>
>>97507180
Aren't there some good EU companies?
>>
>>97507214
The only one I know is Carta Mundi, which is too big to give the time of day to an indie. Their MOQ is too high for most indie devs starting out.

If there are others, I'd love to know more.

>>
>>97507536
Oh, you...

>>97507498
Doing business with the Chinese is a lot like doing the business with the Ferengi. You're going to get exactly what you ask for. If it's not on the contract, you're not getting it. They're also really, really interested in getting your business. They will be very quick to help you with design the packaging, get you samples of their work, and they will handle arranging the logistics to ship it to you.

The main concern that you need to be worried about is whether or not the factory is going to rip off your product and sell bootlegs. The manufacturer I went with has a Factory and Merchandise Authorization (FAMA) from Disney. Basically, this is a certificate from the mouse that allows them to make Disney related merchandise. Nobody fucks with the mouse. That's the entire reason why I went with this particular manufacturer.
>>
>>97505931
I would be doubtful. I don't think they've added any languages to their other tcgs after they release them. Seen some sad stories about having to deal with a tcg not in your own langauge though so I feel for you anon

you can't design a resource system until you know what it is you're trying to restrict. which won't be obvious until you have enough of the bones to play it. if you try to front load you'll have a resource system just for the sake of having one.

I also looked into WJPC, which several other indie devs have used. The product quality was fine, but the sales rep was way too pushy for my tastes and they sent me bootleg pokemon cards with genshin hentai on them. Not exactly the best look when doing business, no?

You know full well that's a retarded fucking argument because it's universally true for every card game and consequently not something you bring up when you're clearly talking about something else.
>>
>>97509712
Why do you play only three 8C Carrots? Isn't that the best card in the deck?
>>
here - basic definition everybody can agree on except this dumbfuck >>97507889 who thinks you spend houses in keyforge

Resource System: a mechanic where players acquire discrete units of currency (a "Resource") which are spent to play or activate cards. Cards can have differing amounts of resources required to play or activate them ("Costs"). Resources can be of a single type (eg credits, energy) or come in different "Colors" (mana types, material types, etc) with card costs having corresponding color requirements.
resource systems are a balancing mechanism where cards of higher power can be balanced by having correspondingly higher costs to play or use them. when resource colors are used, the system also segregates the cardpool to create more design space.

important distinction is that the resource system =/= the resource generators. a single resource system is allowed to have multiple types of resource generators. you can do built-in shit like discard or clicks for resources and also have equivalents of lands, bursts or drip in the same resource system no problem.

>Isn't that the best card in the deck?
It is, but it's also in a weird spot where it's not really a card you plan to spam over and over again unlike some other best-card-in-deck, like for example the Five Elders for Imu.
8c Carrot is a card you play once and win that same turn due to all the extra attacks it gives, so you instead spend the turns before building up board by playing 5c Carrot and 10c Law/Bepo instead.
Because of this you only really need to see a single 8c Carrot overall per game, and at that point going to 3 copies instead of 4 is fine and gives you room for something else.

>>
>>97510123
Truth be told, I'm still about $12k in the red. I've branched out to developing some other games to try and make ends meet. One of which was published by Speedrobo Games last November.

The TCG space is rough, even for a massive corporation. If I had any piece of advice for an aspiring indie dev, I'd tell them to not start with a TCG. Start in the board game sphere first. Get a couple titles under your belt, get them published, start making money first. Then use that to finance the TCG. I'm doing it in the opposite order and I'm wishing I hadn't.

Don't get me wrong, I love The Condemned and I'm damn proud of what I've made. But now I'm in a spot where I can't afford to produce the expansions and I'm unable to grow the game because I don't have the funding necessary to get it off the ground.
>>
>>97510223
Stick to writing books for now, got it.
>>
>>97510230
At least until you have a name for yourself and your style of game design. I would also say it's easier to transition from tabletop to TCG than book writing to TCG. Especially if some of your tabletop games involve cards. Think Eldritch Horror to Arkham Horror from FFG. You can convert one of your existing games, build up a new game from it.
>>
>>97510078
The same way I feel about indies asking AI to do game design for them.

>how much art do you need to finish the set out?
Let's see...It looks like I'm at...28/128 cards with finished art. I have a couple cards I haven't spoiled yet because I'm focusing more on the current set and selling that at stores.

My main goal is to get booster drafts going at more stores. They're low cost for patrons and high profitability for the stores, and also turns into regular revenue for me. I reached out to a good 30 stores in multiple states earlier this week. I went to the FAB website, pulled up their list, and started going state by state. I plan to do the same for Pokemon and UVS. If I get even three responses out of every state in the country, I'll call it a success.

I got one that wasn't a "yes I'll buy" reply, but they did say to follow up in September. And they're less than 2 hours away from me, so I might even be able to drop by in person some time...

If you want to play online, I host online events though TTS every Thursday night in The Condemned CCG discord. There's a link on the website.

3 stores agreed to sell. Two went out of business since then. The third still sells it, and they've moved through about 70% of their initial order in 10 months. So slowly, but not completely dead. We have had two drafts fire off there, which is great. They've seen what can happen when that works, and they like it. It's just getting that happening consistently is the challenge.

>Why draft
Because it's half the cost of MTG or less, it's fun as hell, a $10 draft is a relatively easy sell price-wise, and the store stands to profit from regular draft play more than someone just coming in and buying a pack or two. It turns into regular, routine revenue and business for the store. Every time a store has run a draft, they loved it. So that's why I'm leaning into that in the marketing.

Consider:
>count how many cards are in your hand
>place said cards aside
>shuffle your graveyard
>draw that many cards from it
>place the previous hand you set aside in the graveyard
Not that hard when you have a basic understanding of how the world functions, is it?
>>97513543
>what happens if you have more cards in hand than in the graveyard?
Then you draw out your whole current graveyard and that's it. This is intentional.
>You're designing the game for a digital sim, not paper play
On the contrary, I think you're the one who struggles to imagine how things might work out on a table and needs everything spelled out. You also somehow think that card design and formalising text should happen at the same time, which is not the case. Whether or not the card effects are worded clearly and properly understood is found during testing with other people, which happens only after you've defined a set of rules to play the game by and come up with enough cards to do test matches. You clearly haven't taken any creative endeavours in your life if you think each individual element should be finalised by itself when polishing is the last thing you do, actually.
>>97513549
>how it's totally not a bad effect
It's probably overcosted trash that mostly exists for flavour but "dump your opponent's current hand, give yourself good knowledge of what's in their new one, fetch your own combo pieces if you've set up your graveyard right" is probably not an effect you want to be cheap.

Hey, sorcery fags! How do you feel about Magellan's Globe? It's considered a Pathfinder staple and it's almost in every Pathfinder deck, but I just don't get it. You can get to 6 mana by turn 6, and to 8 by turn 9. Yeah, The globe can accelerate you on Turn 6, but you play it instead of a big body to the realm and you open yourself to attacks from all over. It just seems to me people see the globe as the solution Pathfinder's limitations, but they don't really need.

Before anyone says it's to launch a surprise attack to the opponents back row, there are much better ways to do that via auras and water/air minions.

Hardly. If your locals are still believe the only deck is wing blockers, it does struggle but if your opponents are playing anything else including other stale decks like OYW and Blupre aggro, CB does well and Trans Am is the win condition. It also does well into Jupitris which itself shits on blockers so that deck will show up at your locals if they are still stuck on wing.

Hi anons, I am kinda trying to create my own tcg (inspired by ygo) and I would like to ask, are there any documents/channels/wikis about game design and design philosophies? Like why it makes sense to do x and not y ?
My current problems lies within the understanding which values I take for ATK/DEF. If I take stuff like mtg/hearthstone etc. it's mostly in single digits compared to the 1000s ygo has, the difference is incredibly significant. Like 1/1 single mana and 2/2 two mana, which is basically double of the single mana monster. I like that it's easier to calculate than with 1000s, still this feels like very difficult to optimize.
>>
>>97516931
The only things that matter mechanically for stats are:
1. Increment
2. Range.

Stuff like whether there are 1/1s, 100/100s or 10,000/10,0000s is all aesthetic. It can change the feel of your game, something like DB feels more DB when you have big numbers, but it doesn't really make any difference 99.9% of the time.

To explain the initial point further when I say Increment, I mean what is the standard increment you vary stats by. In Magic, it's 1, so you have 1/1s, 2/2s, etc. In YGO its 100, you see 1800, 1900, 2000, and only very, VERY rarely do you see something like 1850, and 99% of those are from the early days. Digimon uses 1,000. DBS:M uses 5k. What the increment is doesn't matter, but if you're going bigger than 1 you should be consistent with it and only break it with intention.

Range is the more important aspect and that's the range in which stats usually lie and should be thought of in increments. Yugioh has a wide number of increments (1-40).
>>
>>97516931
>>97517020
Cont.

Magic has a smaller range ~0-10. Digimon is ~1-15. DBS has a pretty strict 1-9, with 9 usually reserved for Secret Rares.

TL;DR. There's no mechanical difference between 1/1s or 100,000/100,000s. So go with whatever you want.

damn anon thank you very much. I will keep this in my notes. But yes it's basically the range. Like if we go by 1s and it's like ygo, where you resource are monsters and we go by the range that 3/x is where you have at least one tribute.
You can only do 1/1, 1/2, 2/1 and 2/2 (rare), but in that case I would fill with only 2/2 and don't get anything else and I get heavily limited by the variety of the cards, where there can only be better cards if they have a special effect.

Now let's think about ygo ranges. 2000 is the tribute treshold. So I can now have 1500/1000, 1200/1800, 500/800 etc. it gives me a lot more flexibility. At best I can go with 10s, but still the calculation part becomes more annoying. Also the optimizing values can be quite annoying I would say.

I hope I could make my dilemma more clear. Your post definitely gave me a huge insight on that and I will check out these two videos you showed me.
>>
>>97517166
>Like if we go by 1s and it's like ygo, where you resource are monsters and we go by the range that 3/x is where you have at least one tribute.
I feel like you're conflating two variables here.

Why can you not set LP to 80, and have the tribute threshold of 20? Then you could have 15/10, 12/18 or 5/8.
>>
>>97517178
that is actually with a very much high probability the route I will go in the end, probably halving all the values and make less LP, but yes. I just wanted to think if there is a possibility I am not seeing or am unaware of, that you can actually to with an increment of 1.
>>
>>97517217
>just wanted to think if there is a possibility I am not seeing or am unaware of, that you can actually to with an increment of 1.
I don't understand what you were trying to say here, but I will point out this >>97517178 is using an increment of 1.
>>
>>97517224
What I mean is the calculation part. Caluclating 2-2, 5-3,20-3 is always easier than calculating 73-17, 56-9 etc. It's not as annoying as calculating 5450-2500 or 6700-1900, but still not as simple as the other ones.

I just got back from locals, so I wasn't able to submit a theme. I wanted to say No Theme, so that you can do extremely silly stuff like Yugioh without anything holding you back. Other games also do this while having a theme, but those games' themes let you do that. Stuff like CFV, Buddyfight, MtG or Duel Masters. I just found it easier to just say no theme.

I have no idea why Riot has decided to make the most fucked text of any card game.
>EQUIP effects target the unit it equips to
>WEAPONMASTER effects target the Equipment you are going to equip with, but it itself doesn't count as using the EQUIP effect and therefore doesn't target your unit, even through within the reminder text it says that you may EQUIP an equipment to it, which is the keyword that DOES target.
Why did they not just do something like
>WEAPONMASTER (When you play me, you may attach one of your equipment to me, even if its already attached, by paying its EQUIP cost with 1 [A] less.)
That would convey that its not doing the EQUIP, but just referencing the cost. I even followed the retarded "we must never say choose even though cards want to know whether choosing is happening" shit they do as well.
I have never experienced such difficulty in a card game from the text alone. It feels like every other card has people misinterpret its more casual text and nobody knows rulings behind them off the dome.

One of the Legends you can start with in the pre-Rift event is Irelia.
Irelia lets you pay a Power to ready a friendly unit, if you choose it in any way.
The EQUIP keyword chooses a friendly unit to attach itself to, so using EQUIP allows you to use Irelia's Legend ability to ready your unit by paying a Power and exhausting her.
WEAPONMASTER is a keyword introduced in Spiritforged that, upon initial reading, lets you use the EQUIP ability of an Equipment you control for 1 Power less. This would mean that you could play a WEAPONMASTER unit, use it to activate the EQUIP ability of an equipment, trigger Irelia because EQUIP chooses, and then for 1 Power would let you ready the unit you just played, effectively causing them to enter ready for the cost of 1 Power and having an Equipment on field.
In reality, WEAPONMASTER does not actually use the EQUIP ability at all. The WEAPONMASTER ability chooses the Equipment and attaches it, so you don't actually EQUIP at all. This means no Irelia trigger because your unit isn't being chosen, which means no readying.
Every single person at the multiple pre-Rift events I attended triggered Irelia off of a WEAPONMASTER, including me. Found out afterwards the actual rules for the situation, and am just losing my mind at how dogshit the reminder text is

Everyone please vote. It seems the most interesting options have been eliminated, and we're left with girls or weird monsters.

Next topic of discussion is what should be next? Going off previous discussions, Turn structure would be a good option for the next decision.

>>97520053
I think it's pretty fun. The only main gripe I have about it is that sometimes the end can feel anticlimactic, but there's some decent gameplay wrapped up in it.

My personal favorite set for limited was Trial By Frost, I think the mechanics were generally excellent there.

>>97518737
Any of the Warrior ladies or Levia for me. Enigma also has the best hero art in all of SAGE IMO. All of them are seemingly viable with the recent event, but we'll see how the meta shakes up. So far between the Calling and the Showdown Kayo is very good, Briar is strong and fighting through the expectation of her as BDIF going in she converted fairly well overall. Warriors and Guardian good with Warrior blockslop being the counterpick to Guardian blockslop, but the Showdown results featured neither class and instead featured 2 Kano 1 Enigma and 1 Fai so there seems to be a good variety of decks doing well and even more in the 66%+ WR bracket that were good this weekend.

What >>97521944 said, but I think we should start more abstract. E.g. if we want to go with something similar to Digimon it would be just start -> main -> end. No need to hash out the details immediately
>>
>>97521087
My proposal is Netrunner actions. You have a set amount of actions each turn. You use actions to play cards, draw cards or gain resources
>>
>>97522572
At this point it's more important to decide direction than discuss specifics. I.e. should turn structure be next or something else?

>>97521087
After some thought I have been wondering if it's better to decide on a central gimmick or the turn structure first. The less we have set, the more flexibility we have in deciding something like a gimmick.

To use Bandai games as an example:
Digimon has stacking Digimon
DBS has Combo
One piece has attaching Don

A gimmick isn't necessary, but it could help give direction.
>>
>>97522621
I think cards inform what actions you can take, and systems do too, so turn structure should come after those. Before you define things like an attack phase or a mana phase, you should decide how combat and energy work.
>>
>>97522692
See >>97522455 if we define turn structure first, it will be in the broad sense of game flow, not defining every phase and how they work in detail. What do you think we should decide on next?

Doesn't matter, because you either play Water or you lose.
>>
>>97522709
Resource, if any, should come first. Then combat, then turn structure.

ReineIofi. As someone who actually watches Reine, I'm happy the game is putting her name out there, even if people can't pronounce it, but I had a small mental crisis when I saw two other people also running ReineIofi that happened to also use the color of Dragonshields I was using. Honestly, I shouldn't even have won game 1, my opponent just misplayed and didn't realize the 160 HP Reine 1st needed a green to attack which let me land a double knockout he couldn't recover from.

>Miko is a very cool deck. Definitely caught me by surprise how well it's doing this meta.
Reine is a top tier deck that plays kinda slowly in 2/3 variants so a fast deck that can dish out special damage and has a +50 against green makes for a pretty good matchup against Reine.

I know there's a language barrier but I think you should really emphasize your hook more. It's a Yugioh-lite with grid positioning but you didn't show what makes that interesting. Does destroying part of the "puzzle" combo destroy the cards that rely on it? Can enemies move pieces around? Are elemental effects baked into the cards and is it all hardcoded?
It's got nice art but without any proper rules its hard to parse anything above surface level marketing

Ebayed the playsets of GNArmor and O-Gundams. Ordered singles online today for the TransAm+Bridge crew as LGS didn't have them either atm.

Got an Alt Art GD03 Altron from the packs though, sold it and the starter Alts and they covered the cost of everything above, so it's all even in the end. Pretty happy gaming so far cost-wise.

From 3 playing sessions the deck's quite simple in playstyle, almost unga-bunga and better when you don't overthink. Get rid of bodies, mostly trading units, hit when you can, use Armed Intervention to defend instead of saving blockers to block (unless your gameplay says otherwise). In this sense the new GD03 Dynames with Breach is actually more important, so I am gonna run more.

Loses to the likes the green-minis though obviously, especially with TransAm/GNArms being bigger units, not much arsenal to deal with that atm.

Didn’t realize there were two other Witch Rulers. Bought them both and I’m going to build their decks now that I’m done with Helen’s deck.

ok I see thanks
>>
>riftbound prerelease
>blue and purple have good mobility and interaction
>lucian is a good legend+champion combo because he's aggressive and hard to remove
>red has good combat tricks, so play around X
>use all the equipment you can, they're reusable buffs for your units

>build a deck of nothing but bodies and 3 pieces of equipment
>don't use lucian legend
>minimal interaction
>never play around anything
all youtubers recommend
>only person to go 3-0 at pre release
I looked at basic "how to" videos and articles after my prerelease, apparently I did everything wrong but still won. Guess I'm just better.

may I ask you how much you spend on your deck?
>>
>>97526188
Currency In GBP brit shit at 20% VAT incl.):
2xST07 = £30
4xO Gundam = £4 (incl shipping)
4xGN Armor = £5 (incl shipping)
2x GD03 Dynames from participation/placing boosters
3x GD03 TransAm Exia = £23 (on its way)

The OGun and GN Arms were overpriced for common/uncommons obviously with ebay and shipping but I wanted them that particular week, so there's that.

I went 2-1 with the Irelia deck, and only because my first round I was channeling 1 rune for a couple rounds, and my opponent angle shot me saying I could recycle tapped runes. Cracked an overnumbered Bard I'm hoping stays high in value though.

whats this card game?

Tales of Series TCG.
Never came to the west.
>>
Horny has won the poll. It got as many votes as the other two options combined, you degenerates.

Next up we'll settle on a gimmick. This is a core mechanic that will set it apart from other games. If you're going to lift from something please lift from something small and obscure.
That said, all suggestions will be added to the poll.

I'll start by suggesting the Wait system from Legions!. Each card has a Wait value, and you have a zone called the timeline. When a skill is used or a creature destroyed it goes on the timeline at a slot for its Wait value. Each turn all cards slide down 1, and when they come off the timeline you can play them for free. The rest of Legions! uses this to make a very constrained infrastructure, but we can potentially go in another direction with it.

>>

The gimmick should tie into the horny nature of the game. I'll think of something.
>>
>>97527593
The problem with that is that horny is kind of an empty theme. As a reminder the description was:
Every card in the game has and is a hot looking girl that represents the hot girl version of a different thing. You can have RPG classes as hot girls. Dragons as hot dragon girls. Hot cyborg girls. Cthulhu as a busty milf. Elements and characters from all over culture equalised by being rendered as sexy girls.

So it's not like its a sex game, it's basically just wixoss.

Also pre-rift event was shit, these heroes do not draft well at all it feels like

but yeah, in the quest of making cards and keywords easier to access, they fumbled it hard and it's just far more confusing than it should be.

Ask a casual player how hidden works.
>>
>>97528004
Big oof. Not being able to draft easily is a big mistake in this day and age for a TCG...
>>
>>97528040
>97528040
it's going to be a fun set to open and play, but draft feels really far behind what it was last set.
>>
>>97527578

You didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't a particularly popular game, so most wouldn't recognize it at a glance.

Riot just killed another of their projects, 2XKO.
Surely their only other game with a fanbase will go the way of valorant and tft and not every other one of their other projects right
RIGHT??? PLEASE???
>>

>Ask a casual player how hidden works.
Hidden is one of the worst offenders, and its insane that its a Set 1 keyword.
>HIDDEN (Hide now for [A] to react with later for (0).)
Might as well not even have the reminder text at all.
>What does "Hide" mean? It's a word that literally only gets used in this context.
>Why does it not mention that stuff is hidden to a battlefield?
>Why say "later" when you really mean "on a later turn"?
>Why say it costs 0, instead of "for free". People at my locals starting out thought you needed to still pay Power costs.
>Why does it not mention that stuff stays there only while you control the battlefield?
>Why does it not mention the requirement that targeting and unit placement must involve the battlefield its hidden at.
The only thing that actually does get conveyed is that it would be at Reaction speed with the "to react with".
If I were to keyword it, I would've done something like
>(Hide this card at a battlefield while you control it for [R] to react with on a later turn for free. Any choices must be at this battlefield.)
It's not perfect, but it fits the 3-line maximum we've seen with Weaponmaster, so its fits and conveys way more info.

Do they not realize how much this affects perception of their other projects? Do you think people will want to play this game if they know Riot has a horrendous track record of supporting anything that marginally tanks?

Since the cards are all sexy girls and sexy girls having sex with each other is the peak of all media we should have a mechanic where two (or more) girls can attach to each other. The gimmick is that you can do so with both your own girls and with your opponent's too. Sometimes you might want two of your girls having sex with each other, but sometimes you might want one of them having sex with an enemy instead. Maybe having sex prevents that enemy from entering combat that turn. Maybe girls have different sex roles and for example a domme can always successfully begin sex with an enemy sub and vice versa but two enemy dommes might not. Maybe a girl's sex skills and her fighting power are separate values. So many possibilities by giving your girls the option to choose to have sex instead of fighting. To summarise:
>girls can attach with each other to have sex
>you can't have sex and attack on the same turn
>girls have on sex effects that are positive or negative
>you can sex your girls with each other or sex a girl with an enemy
>there may be elements that determine the compatibility of sex and whether it can happen or not

One of the biggest issues I have with Riftbound is the card text.
But what especially pisses me off is the lack of clarity on choosing, especially when it absolutely comes up in gameplay.
All they need to do is be explicit instead of skirting around the word.
The part that gets me is they actually DO use Choose sometimes in text
>>
>>97527545
so they torpedoed it?
well it was fun while it lasted. guess I'll just go back to working on my own shit.
>>
>>97528716
I don't play the game and know nothing about it beside what's mentioned ITT, but
>then move your unit there
Assuming it's referring to the same unit you chose, why in the fuck does it say 'your unit' and not 'that unit' or just 'it'? Especially when you've already got 'its' in the same sentence. Did they get their Chinese overlords to write the card text? This is neither good English nor good card writing. It's inconsistent and confusing from just this little.
>>
>>97528889
I think you meant astroturfed.
>>
>>97528902
its littered all over the game, in set one alone there were like 20-30 cards that got errata'd for clarity

I like riftbound but jfc the management side of it is super shit
