I do not get the hate for the new defiler, feels like the most forced dislike I've seen. I genuinely don't get it, it looks great. It looks fucked up and mutated and a horrible amalgam of flesh, steel and daemon which is exactly what I want from dark mech. People have been talking about wanting dark mech for decades, and now that its here everyone is so hipster they are calling it NEW BAD when its been directly begged for since the 2000s at least.

I am about to FOMO purchase a third Defiler, so each of my Chaos armies has one. The new one just does not jive with me. I know I will probably get a "Post models!" or get called a liar, but I am just wholly disappointed with GW for ruining such an iconic design. My first Defiler was my first "centerpiece" model and has never steered me wrong on the tabletop, I bought it back when it was still fresh and new. It feels wrong to even consider the new and seemingly low effort design.
