They're on the list either due to play patterns or power level, sometimes both. Bracket 2, which is around where your deck's power level is looking, allows no GCs. Bracket 3 which is a middle ground, think the old "my deck is a 7", allows three at most. Free counterspells and Cyclonic Rift are some of the cards most likely to be fine on a per-playgroup basis. Keep in mind the bracket system is mostly developed for LGSes and Command Fest events where the game is still being played casually but there's a high chance of a power level gap based on what each player's expectations are. It's a base for everyone to touch back on to prevent total mismatches. If your playgroup is having fun you can ignore it but the outlines are good for figuring out what kinds of designs players might dislike. If you're like me and card design is interesting to you there's a lot of good info in the articles and explanations.

What kind of removal should I run with this guy?ETB Destroy creatures like Alpha Deathclaw are so good because they can mount Gitrog, or just go in for a swing on the next turn if it's time to start closing the game out (unlike the 3cmc 6/6s which usually lack trample and have a downside that keeps them from attacking in the first place).On the other hand, they usually cost 6 or 7 cmc and that's a lot of mana investment for a removal spell. Is Glacier Godmaw the best haste enabler for a gw tokens deck? Gets hit by zenith / natural order. Fierce Empath (and therefore Woodland Bellower) grab it. 9 mana is harsh but doable. Also repeats if you have more lands later. It can be found / cast before you dump tokens.

Time and time again lately Ive had games where I immediately know, sometimes before the game even starts, who the strongest enemy is. I will spend the entire game throwing every single resource I have against them and they will still win and its just wholeheartedly demoralizing everytime. I have him in a deck with sacrifice, burnt offering, soldevi adnate, flare of malice, soul exchange and culling the weak. Curve is super low outside reanimation targets so generally get to cast several things per swing, and if you have any of the sacrifice rituals potentially just cash in undying to cast a reanimation target if you hit one.
