>>97671938>TQAesthetically it's Theros and it's not even close. For inhabitants it's Ixalan since they have the best version of Merfolk and Vampires with the other factions not being too bad. I would have said Mirrodin/Phyrexia but they fucked it up.
>>97671938>tqTheros. The art is so well done.

>>97671968Enrage-style effects being split between Izzet+ pre Ixalan and Naya post ixalan fills me with so much pain man. Blue has some crazy good cards for enrage decks but my fav creatures are green. Then they go and release cards like fucking Ureni, Song Unending where it would almost be perfect to bring green and blue together finally but they randomly add "your opponents control" to piss me off for no apparent reason.

>>97671938The first visit to Eldraine. I havent been playing as long as others. Only since 2019 with War of the Spark (I had cards from before then but thats when I really got into it) but I really like fairy tales and that whole aesthetics and I think it did a really good job of portraying it. Besides that maybe Theros? Duskmourn would be up there if it wasnt for the sheer amount of the 80s related references.

>>97672871Whatd you think of them before?
>>97671938>TQ: What is your favorite MTG plane?Lorwyn/Shadowmoor. I love the aesthetic, the lack of humans made them get creative with the creature types, and the light/dark duality theme was expressed really well. I think the sole stain on OG Lorwyn block is that it's where Planeswalker cards were introduced.
>>97672871how can eldrazi players be retarded? they win in the average podphyrexia otoh is a meme unless you're using k'rrik
>>97672871>phyrexian playersThese aren't a thing, surely? What the hell would you even play as a commander? It's not like Phyrexians have much of a unified gameplan aside from some vague infect/toxic synergies.

You guys remember when they hyped people up for a return to Kamigawa just to make it nothing like Kamigawa?I remember
neon dynasty was pretty cool brah
>>97672964wotc is consistent in saying og kamigawa and lorwyn were flops so is it really a surprise that neon dynasty and loe are nothing like the originals?
>>97672953>Can't be countered and can't be removedGood players with good decks can deal with eldrazi at a whole. Her stat lines are hard to deal with for most decks period. You knew this though, you just cherry picked the only eldrazi that rightfully needed to be banned.
>>97672988Yeah it is a surprise. Are you retarded?>thing "bad" when released>thing come to be beloved>hmmmmm lets completely change thing. Why return if not to recapture the original, which people came to love. Why are zoomers so good at mindlessly defending retarded corporate decision making? Truly a golem generation

>>97673014>lorwyn close to originalNot even remotely. Like at all. Not in atmosphere or aesthetics or creature design. OG lorwyn has heavy folklore influence. Nulorwyn is "wot if we mashed up these animals crazy innit?
>>97672999>thing "bad" when releasedno retard kamigawa block was as a whole bad power level wise with only a few cards like top and jitte being exceptions>but the flavor! the thing came to be beloved!incorrect, people didn't fall in love with japan's mythology ala princess mononoke, they fell in love with anime>you goyim!lol
>>97673026>I did the opposite actually, which is to say i don't want a timmy card to beat meyour bias is to let decks do the thing, a sentiment that includes just about the most retarded edh players
>>97672009I CALL THE PIZZA PLACEAND I TELL THEMYOU GOT APIZZA FACE!!
>>97673027Lorwyn was still the same setting just not nearly as well done, Kamigawa was a complaetely different concept that they couldve just done on a new plane but didnt. They arent even comparable. Not to mention you only have yourself to blame really for expecting the artstyle to be similar since WotC has told everyone for years and years that they homogenized the artstyle for brand recognition purposes. The best you couldve done is hoped that every card had a pullable treatment that made it look more akin to og Lorwyn which they shouldve done >>97673028The powerlevel excuse is a bad one considering thats the easiest thing to fix upon a return to the plane. A feudal japanese setting with mystical elements would be one of the biggest plane requests now if Kamigawa never existed, but now not only will we never get anything close to a japanese inspired plane of any kind because wotc will go>but Kamigawa exists!Meanwhile Kamigawa now is just fucking Cyberpunk so a return there again wouldnt even give you the themes that someone asking for that kind of set would want
>>97673028Yes. It was bad, and then it came to be beloved for its aesthetics, in spite of its power level, and then upon returning they entirely abandoned the aesthetics that were loved. You are in fact a golem, not a goyim, you fucking retard, entirely different things.
>>97673050>nooo!! the people don't love anime!! that's why i'm here in an anime forum!!lol>using words he doesn't knowsince you're just a retard i'll let you know that golems in myth destroy the jews who made them, but that can't be the case with the zoomers you detest and claim to be slurping wotc's cock, so in truth you're referring to goyim, which are the ones that unwittingly slurp down wotc's cock (and are more often than not millenials you idiot)>>97673047>Meanwhile Kamigawa now is just fucking Cyberpunkyes because anime and neon dynasty sold well so you can't even refute wotc on their correct assessment
>>97673058Why do you keep talking aboit anime? Youre embarrassing yourself. And no, youre entirely incorrect. Golems are created jewish servants. There are many stories about them ending in a variety of ways but to describe them the way you did is flat out incorrect, my way is correct (as jewish servants). Dumb golem fuck
>>97673078>Why do you keep talking aboit anime? Youre embarrassing yourself.lol keep melting down man meanwhile I can't wait to have more anime UB>There are many stories about them ending in a variety of waysincorrect as you're just pulling that out of your ass because you're getting terribly beaten down over your schizo takes, golems are a cautionary tale as they inevtiably become something far worse than their intended purpose, you're terribly confused and lost from /pol/, at least they know that immigrant muslims are the current jewish golems
>>97673041
>Pov: You're playing blue
>>97673121
>>97673047>A feudal japanese setting with mystical elements would be one of the biggest plane requests now if Kamigawa never existedI fully expect wotc to be willing and able to double dip on feudal japan. maybe not in a hot minute with kamigawa being popular now, but there will certainly be a return to more traditional warring states designs in the future.
>>97673050>It came to be beloved Because jitte and top became eternal format staples for decades you numbskull and those were the only two cards people even knew from the set until commander got really popularized
>>97673133>but there will certainly be a return to more traditional warring states designs in the futureyet another understated fact of wotc's incompetence is how much they're ignoring the china market, wan zhi pai is big there and they really should get off their ass to do a journey to the west set or a romance of the three kingdoms 2.0 set
>>97673156the Chinese should never be pandered to. hollywood keeps learning that lesson every few weeks.
>>97673101You are flat out incorrect and its hilarious you think 6 seconds on google will convince me im wrong. There are many jewish stories about golems, and many of them do not end even remotely negatively
>>97673140No its because people came to love the aesthetics anon
>>97673175hollywood isn't pandering to the chinese anymore with their DEI movies
>>97673178And none of this takes away from the fact that they are still jewish servants by the way. My goodness zoomers are absolutely retarded. First generation to be stupider than the one before it in recorded history by the way.
>>97673178>There are many jewish stories about golems, and many of them do not end even remotely negativelyproof next thread? jotc knows more about golems than you btw

Question: if I play Collective Inferno, naming God, and I have Purphoros out but he isn't online as a creature, does he still have the creature subtype "God" and therefore have his damage doubled? I assume yes but j wanted to double check
>>97673258Yes because it doesn't say only to double damage creatures of that type deal
>>97673258No, God is a creature type. Until he is a creature, Purphoros is merely a Legendary Enchantment
>>97673235cities are literally crumbling apart now.
i think kamigawa and lorwyn SUCKS
>>97673267Read the card, fuckwit. It says name a creature type, but then only says "sources of that type" not "creatures of that type"That's because tribal instants, sorceries, and enchantments exist. They even printed one in the same fucking set which is capable of doing damage

>>97673625>>97673645I mean it's objectively lazy writing but its been established for a long time that planes have their own little idiosyncrasies that dont track across every plane which makes them unique. Yeah theyre zombies, and other planes have zombies. That doesnt mean Innistrad's zombies arent different than Amonkhet zombies. In reality is it just because the Innistrad zombies are too integral to the plane's visual and thematic identity for them to fuck with? Yes, but still it doesnt technically go against already established mtg bullshit for them to just be different because

I don't care if you played with tuck rule. Examining the game as it exists now makes it clear that rule would make the game worse if it was reimplemented. Even just the physical aspect makes it a bad idea since precon commanders are foils and would instantly stick out along with the sleeves being essentially marked by a difference in wear due to the commander sleeve not being shuffled with the rest of the deck during regular gameplay. It makes sense in every possible way both physically and mechanically to set the commander apart as a piece that doesn't go into a randomized location. Being able to exist in the hand as a private location is fine since not being in a public knowledge area makes it public knowledge that the commander is being held in the hand since it can't exist anywhere else. Shuffled into the deck is too far removed from how the commander as a feature works now.
Fuck every one of you which commander WANTS to be shuffled in? I'm gonna fucking tuck my own commander as my wincon give me your best ideas

grave hate is the easiest thing to apply to your deck since so many cantrip or do other useful stuff anyway. these days it's also extremely unlikely a deck doesn't use the grave at all
>>97676352Well all good gravehate targets everyone's graveyards at cheap rates. I just think most people dont use it because its "mean" and not many strategies are so easily invalidated.
>>97676374>The advice is correct anyone.Zoomerschizo is an ESL holy fuck hahaha

Huh. Shallow Grave / Corpse Dance are very nice in Cruelclaw. Since they don't target the creature doesn't need to already be in the graveyard. Exhume as well.
>>97676392makes sense. but the reason why my friends don't run it is that they can't find a synergy for it in their decks, not because it's mean, so I guess that's on them.

A creature with deathtouch and trample will still trample over a larger creature with indestructible, right?
>>97675583>we're in talks with netflix to make more fantasysloppa that will look like a faggy world of warcraft cutscene where generic characters jump around with 10 foot swords while effortlessly flinging magic at each other in boring weightless cgi fights we've see a hundred times already where no one even gets tired let alone seriously hurt and the whole thing looks like a gayass professional wrestling match and tasteless neckbeards on the internet will declare it da bestest thing ebah and spam it incessantly for a week until the next generic nerdslop drops I can't wait!
>>97676823Yes
The world needs wotc to just make their own anime tcg
>>97676845Good, I was right.
>>97676823>702.2c: Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage for the purposes of determining if a proposed combat damage assignment is valid, regardless of that creature's toughness. See rules 510.1c-d.>702.19b: The controller of an attacking creature with trample first assigns damage to the creature(s) blocking it. Once all those blocking creatures are assigned lethal damage, any remaining damage is assigned as its controller chooses among those blocking creatures and the player or planeswalker the creature is attacking. When checking for assigned lethal damage, take into account damage already marked on the creature and damage from other creatures that's being assigned during the same combat damage step, but not any abilities or effects that might change the amount of damage that's actually dealt. The attacking creature's controller need not assign lethal damage to all those blocking creatures but in that case can't assign any damage to the player or planeswalker it's attacking.>702.12b: A permanent with indestructible can't be destroyed. Such permanents aren't destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the state-based action that checks for lethal damage (see rule 704.5g).TLDRDeathtouch lets you assign 1 damage as lethal and trample lets you assign the rest to the player. Indestructible then kicks in during the damage resolution step to stop the creature assigned the 1 lethal damage from dying. The rest has already gone through. So yes, death touch+trample goes past an indestructible creature.
>>97676858Wotc cannot because anime is too chud, for example their traps are always referred to as male
Reminder that deathtouch and trample is deemed too complex by wotc to have them both appear on a creature
>>97676887It's actually insane we haven't gotten ONE creature in over 30 years with both. Out of all the disastrously pushed cards they've created, THIS was the one line they're not willing to cross?
>>97676897Yes anon, thoracle is a-ok but a deathtouch trampler is too busted for vintage
>>97676903
>>97676887my favorite way to defeat deathtouch trample
>>97676872Bro the only other anime tcg with any popularity in the west that isnt tied to a previous IP is fucking grand archive and grand archive is the most generic anime thing ever made. I wish Force of Will didnt fucking implode man
>>97676352They just aren't running good cards, but yeah, if you are winning 90% of the games, you are probably pubstomping.
>>97676867Yeah, I knew about how it worked normally, I just didn't know if there was a weird interaction with indestructible since "that damage won't kill it, so trample doesn't work."
>>97676903Thoracle isn't a complex interaction that goes against intuition like deathtouch trample does.
>>97676926can you really call it pubstomping when you are stomping your friends in private?
>>97676963You're still punching down regardless of familiarity
How is deathtouch trample unintuitive?Trample means any excess damage exceeding what needs to kill the blockers is dealt to the playerdeathtouch means you only need to deal 1 damage to kill the blocker so the rest is dealt as damage to the player. I don't see whats hard to get
>>97676959You can't control a player' level of intiition (or intelligence, let's put it that way)But you can control the power level of the cards you release in sets and i'd love to see you argue with a straight face that a deathtouch trampler is complex and strong enough to earn your pack's mythic slot
>>97676983>You denying because you need to act superior. If you were presented with the mechanics you wouldn't assume the 3/3 with dt and trample would hit the 30/30 and still deal 2 damage to the player as a new player and don't pretend otherwise
>>97676988>Mythic quality slots are needed to be very complex to justify their creation What kind of mental retardation is this? What does that have to do with reading the text of thoracle and seeing it's not a complex text box
>>97676992Yes, yes I would. What fucking logic is this? Anyone who thinks that would think that because they dont understand how deathtouch works not because they dont understand deathtouch and trample. This whole convo doesnt even matter because this is the type of thing that after you explain it once to someone they understand the interaction
>>97677023>Yes, yes I would.Stopped reading there. You started with a lie, and the rest of your post is a cope.
>>97677012I was talking in terms of power level but sure if you want to talk about complexity then yes thoracle is deservedly rareNow would you be happy to have a french vanilla deathtouch trampler as your mythic? It's certainly complex enough so wotc should just do it right? Lol
>people wouldnt get this interaction>well I did when I started playing>no you are wrong and biased I wincool
>>97677034I don't care what is in my mythic slot to begin with but sure, depends on how much it costs and what its p/t is. If its a 6+/6+ with nothing else but DT and trample for 5 mana, yeah, that's good enough to be a mythic.
>>97676858They have one, but we don't get it. Can't even get a crossover.
they dont want to make a deathtouch trampler because it effectively reads "this creature cannot be blocked" most of the time and that's a blue effect, which we can't be pie breaking like that.
>>97676981I know what you mean, and it's just a technicality, but to be able to pubstomp, you need to be able to play against people who are new to the game and who don't know you.punching down is an overused and subjective term. if your friends play the game longer and more than you, and/or use bigger budgets for their deck etc, basically things that give them a advantage over you, are you still punching down? or are you actually punching up so hard their jaws shattered, making you look like the bad guy in the process?
>>97677059>If its a 6+/6+ with nothing else but DT and trample for 5 mana, yeah, that's good enough to be a mythic. Thanks for doubling down btw lol
>>97677057Its called the Dunning-Kruger effect and you clearly have it.You can't even write with proper grammar.
>>97677074>InsultConcession accepted. Looks like you've lost another argument. Good thing you use the same images every time you want to be smug so we have a record of all your Ls.
>>97677089>smugHe's the only anon that says smug here consistently, and smug anon has never won an argument itt
I'm of weary of running this card. I'm not running a way to punish other players like a normal group hug, so is it just going to fuck me over? Probably, right?
Does /edhg/ have trouble keeping pace with their pod?I've been making my decks worse and worse and I still keep winning enough I can tell they're frustrated. I've tried building decks with no interaction, decks with terrible 7+ mana cost commanders, decks that have next to no wincons and shit like that. At this point I almost have to just not play cards and let them win like children but that feels condescending. I've tried helping them, even walked them through stuff but it makes them pissier. What do?
>>97677125It's probably going to get your opponents more value than it will you. You'll need fog effects and some sort of way to flip their value in your favor later like insurrection. Depends on pod meta, if there's a lot of combo then you'll need other answers.
>>97676959Deathtouch trample is totally intuitive though
>>97677135>no interactionYou're probably just turboing and they're too stupid to run interaction. But you're stupid if you can't detect this yourself.>decks with terrible 7+ mana cost commandersYou're probably just ramping to it optimally.>decks that have next to no winconsCombat is a wincon, I bet the "next to" is doing heavy lifting here. Not knowing why you're winning is way worse than not knowing why you lose.
>>97677135>Does /edhg/ have trouble keeping pace with their pod?Yes. I'm in a group of 6-8 regular players. (we don't play in massive games, we break into smaller pods and rotate.) Of the group, 3 of us are better deck builders and win a lot.I'm trying to build lower power decks for when I'm playing with the weaker players, but its hard because the 2 other guys just want to play overpowered bullshit, most of which are clearly netdecks that he swears up and down are not.Either way, I'm usually having to play a stronger deck to fight them or I'm losing because they can't be bothered to chill the fuck out.

>>97677405>I can make you look like a fool if I entirely flip it to what's actually intuitive to how people understand the mechanics as written.Another Dunning-Kruger dipshit. Thanks for proving my point for me however. Which I'm sure you're not even smart enough to realize you did.
>>97677408Dear christ make it a curse and put it on a landfall player, this sounds incredible
>>97677490Which is why it can't be real, because landfall players are above reproach, clearly.Other than turning all lands into creatures and playing torpor orb or something, there's literally nothing one can do to stop landfall outside of a single card.
>>97677408>>97677490>let them establish their setup>like a dozen+ fuckin landfall permanents who cares>play one of those "destroy nonbasic land, they search for a basic land" cardsgod I wanna see the look on their fucking face
>>97677505I honestly never understood the hate, I've gone against a few landfall decks and they just have the usual fun stuff, nothing backbreaking. And then I built this beautiful bastard and even a budget ass $50 deck goes fucking HAM and dumps 5+ lands every turn. I get the hate, now lmao
>>97677528There's no way to stop it. If you kill their big landfall commander, they'll just play it again because they ramped so hard.If you kill their "play lands from graveyards" or "You can play extra lands every turn" they have about 50 thousand redundancies. Even if you are playing in bracket 4 MLD just helps them since they have their 40th play lands from graveyard card in their hand and will just rebuild faster than you.I don't get why wizard's hasn't made a single card to be used as hate for landfall outside Mother of Machines, and pretty sure that's just incidental and they didn't think of it being the only hard counter to landfall.
>>97677561you can hate landfall with something as simple as rest in peace because landfall is a graveyard deck not a ramp deck
>>97677561Well there's Tunnel Ignus and a bunch of other shit that will burn your oppponents for excessive land drops.
>>97677588I mean, yeah It might slow them down, but they are in at least green and can easily deal with enchantments.>>97677592Yeah. there's that. You're right.
>>97677561>There's no way to stop it. If you kill their big landfall commander, they'll just play it again because they ramped so hardI fucking KNOW I had like 20+ lands out of nowhere, the deck doesn't even run the Cultivate/Rampant Growth cards or any of the "play additional land" cards. Literally zero. Choco himself is the only ramp of the deck
>>97677609landfall is also slower than most other wincons so just combo off on thembut ofc comboing is frowned upon by casuals, hence why landfall is winning more than it should
>>97677631Seen landfall decks pop off turn 3. I wouldn't call that slow.
>>97677471>if I totally misconstrue your example I will look right and you will look wrong! You sure are smug for someone so fucking stupid lmao
>>97677135Dude, I showed up with a literal T1 deck, made only from the cards in pic related and a giant Gahiji, Honored One. Luckily, I got Spawnwraithe turn 3 and enchanted him with Undying Rage turn 4 and made more Spawnwraithes because no one wanted to block with their value pieces.Ended up being the biggest threat on the board, and the Wilhelt player used his counterspell on my Ajani Vengeant because he was scared of my spells. The deck literally runs 0 card draw and 1 ramp, Zhur-Taa Druid.
>>97677643i've seen decks pop off turn 1, your point?
>>97677753Landfall decks are not slow by default at all levels. Should have been pretty obvious.
>>97677762just like lumra is slower than other turbo decks in cedh, so too are landfall decks vs other combo decks in casual, this isn't secret knowledge
