1st for House Gwydion, the mightiest of all the Noble Houses!!!!
>>97671945>TQSemi-often. Between the two WoDs, there are a lot of things that can take the traditional role of "demonic" enemies without being demons. But not too long ago I was in a Hunter: the Vigil game where Inferno demons were the recurring and central antagonists. Very fun game.
>>97671945as often as i can make them appear
Just a reminder that if you belong to clan Tremere (or rather, clan TUMOR), you're lower than Caitiff, Thinbloods and arguably, Abominations as well. Yes, a literal dog-turned-vampire is better than disgusting Tumors.Think about it, not only were they repulsive and reprehensible sorcerers, but they sucked at it so much that they had to resort to become a mockery of vampirism. Not only did Tumors cursed themselves for being disgusting magecucks, who won't inherit Kingdom of God, but cursed themselves ALL OVER AGAIN, by usurping the gifts of Cain and then AGAIN by mass diablerie of the members of the noble and kindhearted Clan Salubri. Sole reason that Tumors still exist and weren't removed by the Tzimisce like the foul Metastasis they are the backing of equally treacherous and subhuman Venturds who will sell their own mothers for 0.01% growth of wealth. The existence of Tumors is like Toreador embracing some gluttonous fat sack of lard as an incredibly tasteless, bad joke.
>>97672215>noble and kindhearted>vampiresYeah, S*lubri propaganda.
>>97671945I'll be real, I still don't fully understand what the hell a Demon is in any game line.
>>97672592What games do you play?
>>97672592Every writer has their own ideas for what demons are supposed to be.
>>97672592Simple, there's >Demon: the Fallen (oWoD)Paradise lost fanfic dindus fight the Earthbound, double evil demons that are awful. Cannot take Lucifer's cock out of its mouth. Tried to unfuck the mess that is a unified oWoD, succeeded only in pissing everyone else off. >Demon: the Descent (nWoD)Techno-gnostic adventures as the now freed former "Angels" of the God Machine, a broken hyper advanced machine that controls, or at the very least warps, all of creation. Tried to lay the groundwork for a unified nWoD/CofD that previously had little interest in such a venture, and once again pissed everyone off. >Devil's Due (oWoD, specifically Dark Ages)A much less metaplot vomit-y game designed more as a supplement than a full game line itself. As a result, it's less well known but also pisses people off less. Not entirely incongruous with Fallen, and also doesn't do the whole deeplore rugpull shit.>Inferno (nWoD)A splat neutral book from nWoD that provides a template, or rather, series of templates, for demons and the demonic. Probably the closest to the "expected" baseline for urban fantasy demons, though a little too over-committed to the seven deadly sins bit nWoD 1e was fond of. I have the most experience with this one, and it's good fun but not terribly conducive to playing AS the demons. Also, there's a ton of misc "demons" from before any of the aforementioned books were posted. As well as a bunch of other things that are practically demons but are called something else, like Banes.
>>97672299He aint wrong about the v*ntrue though.
>>97672653W20 and M20 with the occasional HtV, a bit of V20 but I'm not super familiar.>>97672693I knew about Descent's unified lore nonsense since it's plastered on everything in that book, but I didn't realize Fallen made an attempt at the metaplot stuff. What's with the "Hell" thing in nWoD anyway? The personal descent to Hell shtick never made any sense for me or why it was phrased as an enlightenment thing. This may sound crazy, unreasonable, reaching, foolish, but I'm starting to think WW didn't actually read any biblical stories before writing it.
>>97672215Either a Lasombra Abyssoid or a Tzimisce devolfucker. Either way, you have no right to talk about the morality of Tremere or any other clan.
>>97672730>but I didn't realize Fallen made an attempt at the metaplot stuff.Yeah, it tried to balance out the more popular but supported by fewer gamelines VtM monotheistic cosmology with the Umbra splat stuff to create something vaguely plausible, but even then, had to hide behind the idea of "layered reality", which sorta codified the semi-division of splats policy into lore. Fallen also liked doing the "uh actually this was all a part of the Earthbound's keikaku" thing for major events, undermining the agency of other splats. As you can imagine, this upset a lot of people. >What's with the "Hell" thing in nWoD anyway?I wouldn't know, DtD is the line I know the least about. Inferno is my beloved but it doesn't go terribly deep into its depiction of hell, it's a fairly pragmatic book, which I love it for. Mage the Awakening expanded on it somewhat, Pandemonium is one of their "supernal realms" or some shit, but honestly neither mage ever appealed to me so I couldn't explain it that well. >This may sound crazy, unreasonable, reaching, foolish, but I'm starting to think WW didn't actually read any biblical stories before writing it.You could say that about a lot more than just their comprehension of Abrahamic theology.
>>97672730The God Machine isn't inherently baked into any other splatbook except for Demon. It can feature and offers plot hooks and overlap (There's a Daeva Bloodline that are tied to the God Machine for example) with the other gamelines, but none of them need it to function and all of them can absolutely ignore it or say "that doesn't exist in this game" with zero consequence. The whole "Hell" angle is just a "Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven" thing, and since the GM is the *God* machine and its servants are Angels, then that makes the fallen Demons. Each Demon is meant to have a personal Hell wherein they self-actualise and uncover the reason for their existence, why they fell etc. But in reality, the game is more focussed on cold-war techno-magical espionage spy stuff and just slaps vaguely biblical equivalencies wherever it can.
>>97672215>Tzigger>Avatarfags as an anime girlAutogynephile clan. Will become Ravnos-tier irrelevant the moment the Sabbat welfare checks dry up. >>97672770The Tzigger cries out in pain as it strikes you. It knows you have a sense of right and wrong and uses it to shame you, or get you to listen to it. However, the Tzigger itself lacks morality, and hopes you're too stupid to point it out. Are we so surprised that the clan obsessed with changing their body is duplicitous? Of course not.
Hedgefag… I’m sorry… please come back…
>>97672730I'm pretty sure they read a decent chunk of The Holy Bibble but I doubt they cared.
>>97672730>W20Demons are mostly irrelevant to Werewolf the Apocalypse, but if werewolves encounter any, they're most likely just malevolent Wyrm-aligned spirits, with a specific aesthetic.>M20Demons are Umbrood spirits which can be summoned and bound and otherwise interacted with using the Spirit sphere.>V20Demons are infernal entities who can grant vampires Dark Thaumaturgy as part of a bargain. They are technically Umbrood spirits, but that's almost always irrelevant in VtM games.
>>97672789>You could say that about a lot more than just their comprehension of Abrahamic theology. The one that gets to me the most is how Humanity in vampire is tied to both morality, but apparently is involved in the Golconda thing. It's never really interested me that much, but I'm fairly certain enlightenment as portrayed in the eastern faiths they're ripping it from has very little to do with morality.
>>97672826Sorry to burst your rosy bubble, Tumor, but Tzimisce thrived and will thrive despite what sabbatards will do, as an ancient rulers of the Night. All while the pride of Tumors will be shattered by the hammers of the Second Inquisition, get blown up like their Pyramid (a great symbolic representation of what a pathetic disgusting "Pyramid Scheme" tier of a scam being a Tumor is) and being burnt by the Entity's napalms as a foretaste of their eternal damnation in the fiery pits of hell for being pathetic subhuman failures both in life and death. All this while Dragons will watch all of this while sipping glass of finest blood.
>>97672874>Tzigger defender>Makimafag>AND a V5 fanYou could not have worse taste if you tried.
>>97672874>Hating Tremere so much that you support actual Vampire Hunters just to see them getting screwed overBased?
>>97672874Yes yes, youre very regal and eloquent. Now get back in the box labeled Spare Parts.
>>97672939While any party ruining and eradicating ex-magecuck failures are undoubtedly doing a noble deed, make no mistake: Tumors are not kindred, never were, never will be, no matter what the Venturds will say to them to ensure that they remain useful canon fodder against the Tzimisce and Lasombra.
>>97672869Golconda is poorly defined on purpose but having such high humanity that you reign in your beast is the "most common" way. It's like Chim in TES, you can reach in in a 1000 ways and its supposed to be a personal journey type thing, you could just as easily have a vamp reach it by emptying his heart through mastering the blade or something. There's even reverse Golconda type shit like what Vicissitudemaxxing Tzimisce want to reach.
>>97670489>MYFAROGWhat makes you think I'm a white supremacist?
In my hypothetical reworking of the World/Chronicles of Darkness, I would probably privilege Mummy's cosmology and metaphysics.Vampires don't have a reflection or shadow because they lack a sheut; changelings and demons probably lack a ren which is why they rely on titles and covers.

Cappadocius was a jerk
Hey /WoDg/, a long while ago one of my players pitched a concept of a malkavian that thinks he is a batman. Unfortunately i vetoed the concept because it didnt really fit that particular chronicle. But it got me thinking of a chronicle concept where a sleeping malkavian methusela subtly influences the people in a city to perceive the world in "DC comics logic" and the various supernatural beings act as either superheroes or supervillains. Would this be an interesting concept to run with or is it too silly of a premise?
>>97673095Mummy has metaphysics?
>>97673633There was a Beast changeling NPC in our last CtL campaign who was a huge superhero fan and she was a bit off in thinking all Lost were actually superheroes. She called herself Duskhawk until multiple people kept mishearing it as Dustcock.
>>97673618>t. Harbinger of Skulls
>>97673633>Would this be an interesting concept to run with or is it too silly of a premise? It can work, I just don't see how.
>>97673638Yes, especially regarding the Underworld.
>>97673742I kinda figured the whole premise is to have strange adventures to pacify the methusela because if he wakes up then all hell is going to break loose. As for accounting for population because of people getting killed: theyre kidnapped, have their memories 'adjusted' and then released into the city. The area is heavily monitored and people who try to leave are rounded up and 'readjusted' before being sent back.Im sorta just spitballing ideas. I think its a fun concept but i havent really worked out many of the details.
>>97673095I would also relegate the God Machine to a bizarre anomaly with no relation to Demon, if I let it remain at all.

Did some AI gens and I got a pic that I'm satisfied for my Mage concept, Ashley Kyteler. Also big thanks to the AI gen thread for doing corrections.>>97581372Anyone got some good pics of their characters? Or any concept they've been brewing for a while?
>>97674195I'm getting a strong "bdsm enjoyer" vibe from her.
>>97674207Eh?Though the link is barred, so I'll repost what I wrote last time about Ashley==========>The name is Ashley Kyteler>Inspired by Rin Tohsaka>Lives alone in a dilapidated manor>Parents died doing missions for the Traditions/Order of Hermes>Chronically Late, 1 point flaw>Deep Sleeper, 1 point flaw>Lazy, 1 point flaw>Defensive, 1 point flaw>Child (16 yo), 1 point flaw>Possessive, 2 points flaw>Wonder (Grimoire, Spheres) level 5, x3Ashley comes from a long lineage of Mages and Sorcerers. When she was 8 years old her father left the family manor on a mission for the Order of Hermes. He never came back. At 10 her mother too was tasked with a dangerous mission and never made it back home. Afterwards she was taken into custody by associates of her father. They were unscrupulous men who pilfered the family fortune while “managing” her finances. They almost emptied the Kyteler’s legacy, leaving only the mansion and the land it resides on, along with enough money for her to survive each month and go to school. The only thing that they couldn’t steal from her was the family’s magic crest which was implanted in her and hidden away with wards. Well, what was left of it. Her father couldn’t integrate the full crest at once before leaving, only a third of it. Her mother also had a fraction of it when she left. After the tragedy of her parents passing she became kind of a shut in, lazing around in her ruined house practicing her magecraft and losing the notion of time while sleeping at any hour. She is quite possessive of what few things remain hers, and has become quite antagonistic towards adults. Especially those from the Nine Traditions, like her father’s associates, and will blame her misfortune as well as her ineptitudes solely on them.
>>97674214Here are her partial results:== Results from bdsmtest.org == 98% Submissive 98% Degradee 88% Primal (Prey) 86% Rope bunny 82% Pet 70% Experimentalist 67% Slave 66% Brat 63% Masochist 55% Exhibitionist I think the test underestimated the "brat" part.
>>97674231What do those results mean? And yeah, kind of a brat in a way? Considering that she's miserable mostly because of adults. Especially adults who were supposed to be her friends, family, allies, comrades in the ascension war and even care for her.
>>97674249Damn, bro, you never tried bdsmtest? A 100% means the subject agrees with all the questions relating to that particular fetish. So Kyteler-chan really likes being a sub, is very interested in rope-play and so on.
>>97674259Never knew that exists... so what does degredee and primal means? I think picrel fits for the current talk lolAlso I wonder if it's accurate with the exhibitionist thing... the proto version of her in an anima game in the FSN world had her magic based on super ancient and nearly forgotten pagan rituals and witchcraft superstitions. Like dancing naked to summon demons.
>>97674280>so what does degredee and primal means? -A degradation receiver (degradee) gets turned on by being humiliated, degraded and/or embarrassed in a sexual or kink context-A primal fetish, often referred to as "primal play," involves engaging in sexual activity based on raw, animalistic instincts rather than intellectual or emotional connection. It emphasizes instinct-driven behavior, such as hunting, chasing, or predator/prey dynamics characterized by biting, scratching, growling, or intense, rough physical, and, or, energetic interaction.
>>97674301Ah, I see. Fun to know. I personally have an ENF fetish, but I never integrated it in any game I've participated. Though I did implemented casual nudity in a D&D game I GMed. Players were stuck in hell and they found a lord's castle. The closest mortals could call paradise down there, with pleasures beyond pleasures. People would attend galas wearing practically nothing, eat exotic food alongside foul garbage, play music for weeks without break even if their fingers were bleeding and the flesh on it peeled off, etc. The point was to turn souls so hedonestic that they lost the urge for anything good, until they walk down to the torture chambers themselves just to feel something.bdsmtest.org... Could be a stupid-fun tool to use to settle on a character's personality in the future. I'll try to remember it.

Damn there are only 2 vampires left in Venice, neither are in the historical center.
>>97676222By comic book logic i was referring to the fact crime can be so rampant and yet there is no martial law, heroes and villains having crazy powers and no one really questioning it, the fact people arent able to identify costumed characters despite having a small or no mask, everything kinda resetting after an 'episode' with no meaningful change in policy or laws. This one might be a stretch but i was thinking of the water supply being tampered with so everyone in the city has an increased durability and a lot of injuries that would normally have life long complications are just brushed off. Maybe make it some powerful artifact in a large body of water that has awesome healing properties or some shit like that.

Based on previous feedback I remade my combination disciplines, would you take this? Is this too OP? First one:Piercing BloodPrerequisites: Celerity 2, Vicissitude 2Cost: 18 XPThe vampire compresses blood through reshaped vessels in their arms, releasing it as a pressurized jet capable of piercing steel. To use this power, the vampire must stand with both feet firmly planted on a solid surface and both hands clasped together, pointing at the target. Piercing Blood cannot be used while prone, grappled, restrained, or moving.System: Roll Dexterity + Athletics to hit.Damage: Damage is equal to the user’s Vicissitude rating plus the number of blood points spent, to a maximum of 3 blood points spent. Damage is lethal. This attack ignores all non-magical armor and may hit multiple targets, provided they are aligned in a line within 20 feet of the user. For each use, the user suffers 1 level of unsoakable aggravated internal damage. If this self-inflicted damage reduces the vampire below 10% of their total health levels, they immediately fall into torpor.Targets more than 20 feet away gain +2 dice on dodge attempts against this attack. This attack may be used alongside Vicissitude 5: Blood Form. If so, the vampire may either make the ranged attack normally or launch their whole body as a ranged attack. Doing so effectively ends the vampire’s turn. When using the Blood Form version, the vampire may pierce up to Vicissitude level feet of mundane material such as wood or stone, or up to Vicissitude level × 2 inches of mundane material such as steel or lead.If using the Blood Form version to launch their whole body, the vampire takes double self-damage and is unable to act next turn. After passing through more than half this maximum thickness, rounded down, the attack deals half damage. After passing through more than this maximum thickness, it deals no damage.
>>97676755Second one:Feather of FleshPrerequisites: Celerity 1, Vicissitude 3, Auspex 1Cost: 16 XPThe vampire’s body momentarily loosens to an extreme degree. By leaping with supernatural speed and twisting at just the right moment, the Cainite lets blades pass along their body harmlessly, spinning with the attack before landing back on their feet. When targeted by a piercing or slashing attack, the vampire may activate this power as a reaction. To use Feather of Flesh, the vampire must spend 1 blood point and must be able to leap. This power cannot be used while the vampire is grappled, restrained, pinned, or confined by lack of space, such as beneath a low ceiling. A prone vampire may still use Feather of Flesh, but the dodge roll is made at +2 difficulty. The blood point cost is doubled for each subsequent use within the same turn.System: When making a dodge roll against a piercing or slashing attack, the vampire adds either their Athletics or Fleshcrafting rating to the defense pool.Compare successes with the attacker:More successes: The attack deals no damage, even if it would normally deal aggravated damage.Equal successes: Damage is halved, rounded down and aggravated becomes lethal, lethal become bashing.Fewer successes: The attack resolves normally, and the vampire is knocked prone.

>>97679584You didn't just so happen to run a tea shop in that game, did you?
>>97680936Yep, I'm that guy.
>>97680941Tell me, what drives people to play femboys in changeling? I never understood why one might do that and thought (hoped) it was just a meme
>>97680989I just felt it fit the concept and wanted to play a social-heavy, combat weak character with shapeshifting.
>>97676347The 'rule of thumb' of 1 kindred per 100k kine has always been total fucking bullshit. It makes absolutely no sense and White World's own worldbuilding has never stuck to it.
>>97681463>The 'rule of thumb' of 1 kindred per 100k kine has always been total fucking bullshit. It makes absolutely no sense and White World's own worldbuilding has never stuck to it.This, and it's only really applicable to megalopolises in the US anyways. "There's as many kindred as there needs to be in the city for the story to function" is how you should run it for your game.
>>97681491I'd assume there would have to be at least enough kindred for a primogen to be a necessity, to fill a pretentious Camarilla meeting space, for Kindred politics to have any meaning, etc.
>>97681463Personally 50k was always a good rule of thumb. 25k if i want oodles of ticks
>>97681463this is mostly a fault of people at white wolf copy pasting it from the second ed corebook without reading it fullyit was meant to be bullshit! it's way too low on purpose so a prince can always deny embrace requests they don't like, kick out clans they dislike etc regardless of the actual population, but in revised the take it seriously for some reason
>>97681463Now compare that to mage numbers
>>97679547Why are you writing a femboy hooters game?
>>97681597Why shouldn't he? His table, his game.
>>97680989>>97681013>forced to play a young sometimes under-age character>game is less about combat than the other splats and is more about being a le fungi tricksterI feel like the game incentivizes it a lot more than others
>>97681491>>976815031 per 100k makes sense in a game where blood potency is real, but 1 per 25k-50 is a lot more fun to run. Allows you more leeway into sabbat shit too and mass embraces
>>97681597No. Just plagued by concepts of how catlike a cat beast should behave or how fucked up elementals realy are on a fundamental level. The game may or may not feature the goblin brothel from 1e or a spring courtier who runs a ,,massage parlour" to farm glamour causing the plot to happen by an accidental slip of the mask or dreamrape.
Which mages are most prone to commiting crimes again humanity?

>>97682375Dreaming is the one that goes "you're young/underaged."Lost is more about adult characters in general. In his case, he was a leading man actor in off-Broadway stuff and taken during a post-opening night celebration at a bar, spent years with The Director forcing him to constantly take on different faces to be the starring role, and getting more silver wires threaded just under the surface of the skin in ever-more intricate patterns whenever he couldn't quite make it, until he was so good at shifting faces he could fade into the background and escape. And emerged from the hedge a lot smaller, far more androgynous, and much happier about what he looked like. And then found out his Fetch had gone hard into drugs and booze and died falling/jumping in front of a subway train. Luckily Crown contracts make creating a new legal identity pretty easy.>>97682383Another PC was a Fire Elemental with a crafting-focused Kith, he was a crazy old man who preferred to hole up in our shared Hollow and build stuff.
>>97682497Seers of the Throne.
>>97682497Iteration X is right there, Anon.
>>97682381>blood potencyEnough. I will hear no more of this V5 nonsense. But I always took that number more as a camarilla standard. Anarchs would definitely be more liberal with their embraces (considering the brujah and gangrel) and the sabbat would sooner crucify you before they consider limiting their number of shovelheads.
>>97682680Blood Potency isn't a horrible idea (in CofD) but it snowballs to incoherent levels in V5 that makes higher tier vampires seem like DAA from Nasu>needing to drain an entire village to get fedIt's silly
>>97683178It fits how Vampires work in Requiem. Evolutionary power and adaptations, as stresses or time active increase, as too does your BP, but it's a double-edged sword that can become debilitating and restricts you to only feeding on other Kindred. But you can cool it by sleeping away a few centuries.5E already had a system for growing raw power that fit the lore, Generation, that also fit well in the lore that Vampirism is a curse that weakens as it spreads.
>>97683178>needing to drain an entire village to get fedTechnically you only have to nearly kill 2 people per night since your hunger is locked at 3 unless you completely drain a mortal. Thats just at BP10. If it is something much more manageable like BP 6 or 7 then you just need to risk harming 3 mortals per night. This only really a problem if the elders and methuselas are at or near their peak BP. Still stupid but I try to be fair.
