Tell us about it!
>TQNo. I feel like I need to own, or know I will own it soon to use a card, So I could really never afford to play CEDH.I also find most of the meta commanders very boring.
>>97700814Nah cEDH is gay. Just fatsos who couldn’t compete in 1v1 formats and decided they wanted to be kings of the paddling pool.I told my story a couple weeks ago about how a guy at my LGS lost 2 games and then asked if he could play his cEDH deck. We said yes, he thoracled, the game continued as if it didn’t happenThen when I recounted the story here some sperg lost his mind and said we were being petty and trying to take the win away from that guy when in fact we literally just did not care and wanted to finish our game lol
>>97700814>Do you have a cEDH deck? Tell us about it!Nope. Don't think I will until I finish my 32 deck challenge. And even then, unless I have tons of money I think that would be the only deck I'd put proxies in.
>I Did the Thing>(0)>Instant>This spell can’t be countered>If this spell would be removed from the stack, copy it.>Your opponents cannot copy this spell.>If this card would be put in the graveyard or exiled from anywhere, put it on top of your library instead.cEDH players would unironically play this and tell you it takes skill
>>97700865*>You win the game.Forgot the most important line
>>97700814Yes. Cedh is fun. I have a RogSi list and a Minstrel one. Neither are unique as thats not why I play cedh so any primer for them will show you the deck.>>97700857No one plays cedh with real cards pretty much. When testing a new build would be 1000 bucks minimum it just doesn't make sense so dont let that hold you back ^.^>>97700865No i dont think they would as this would immediately draw the game, and despite the memes, players dont actually like draws. Why are casual onlys so faggy lol I swear you guys sit around daydreaming about cedh for no reason.
>>97700814>tqSorta. I had a Gitrog Monster and later a Grenzo doomsday deck that had similar combos and strategies but didn't have all the fancy tools. No Lion's Eye, Mana Crypt, Chains of Mephistopheles, Gaea's Cradle, or some of the other cards that were super expensive at the time. But I did have a Survival of the Fittest, Mana Vault, Lake of the Dead, and some other cards that are now expensive. Both generally would win shoot to win on t4 through mild disruption.
>>97700814That's top 8. They ate the other four guys.
>>97700814>Do you have a cEDH deck? Tell us about it!Fuck no. Fucking awful TQ
>>97700886
Is swiftfoot and greaves a trap? I feel like if your commander is just value instead of your wincon. Then taking up slots for protection that you might not even see is just not worth it.
>>97700933yes
>>97700933Isn't the whole point of EDH to build a deck that synergizes around the Commander? Are you not playing your favorite cards?
>>97700933>Do I have a creature that needs to be protected? If you say yes to this, yes you should put boots in your deck. Doesn't matter if its your commander or not
>>97700940the point of edh is that you have an extra card in your "hand" that never goes away and just happens to be a legendary creature
>>97700933Haste is its own benefit and neither the haste nor protection are specific to your commander. Almost any archetype would see benefit from them even if the commander is there for value more than out of necessity.I don't always run them but most the time I don't it's for flavor reasons, not because they'd be bad.
>>97700944Dude treat your partners with respect, they're not just "cards", they're your friends and allies.
>>97700886Top 3, the Asian guy is a bottom.
>>97700814>TQ>Do you have a cedh deck?no because i don't care enough to proxy them only to win real cards that i can proxy anyway and i don't have a scene that gives out cash for prizes
>>97700944That's is an absolutely miserable way to see the format.
>>97700933I don't like them unless I'm using a combat heavy deck that needs haste. It adds an extra 2 (3 for swiftfoot) cost to casting your commander, UNLESS you get lucky enough to get it by turn 2 AND don't need to ramp with a signet or play any other spells or creatures. All this to get fucked over when someone just casts Blasphemous Act anyway, in my experience it's just a waste of a card slot except under extremely narrow circumstances. I'd play it in something like a Kotis deck though.
didn’t know that mortal combat guy played mtg, cool i guess.
>>97701156don't worry i'm 100% in favor of segregating casuals from sweats, hence why i like brackets and not some nebulous rule zero
I feel like a shit magic player. All my decks either turn into EDHrec baby's first (archetype). Or like a goodstuff slop pile. I've been deck building for years now and don't feel like I'm getting any better. How do I break out of this slump? I don't actually use EDHrec, but whenever I build a new commander I always seem to make a carbon copy decklist. Which is like cool I can identify synergies. But I have friends who been playing for like a decade and all their decks can perform interesting cool stuff and still win on a budget. It's like there's a secret sauce to deck building being gatekeeped. Cause idk how my friend's pull off a 6 card infinite combo and create infinite Ur-Dragon copys.
>>97701177>6 card infinite combo and create infinite Ur-Dragon copys.Afraid you have insufficient faggotry for that style of play.
>>97701182I guess I'm not gay enough
>>97701177You have modern card design brainrot. You struggle to conceptualize the value of a card beyond what it immediately provides because that's all WotC has been promoting with pushed cards that set themselves up for no reason.
>>97701196Soon we can push out Lorwyn and EOE for Marvel and Star Trek. Hell, we can already push one out for Avatar.
>old good>new bad
Yes.
>>97701203>once enough new, old new becomes old and thus good
>>97700933People have been taking the influencer pill and cut spot removal from their decks in favor of board wipes so you shouldn't play it for protection. However, it's top tier for anything with a tap ability or wants to attack.
How is this a 2 cent card?5 mana to TUTOR a 4 mana creature INTO PLAY is insane efficiency.
Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
>>97701246It's 6 mana to get it into play. Or the same mana efficiency as demonic tutor -> playing the 4 drop, but infinitely less versatile and also exposes it to graveyard hate and containment priest effects. If you have some make or break 4 drop and don't have green it does something? But even then playing t2 mana rock t3 diabolical tutor t4 4 drop will be a better curve than waiting to have 6 at once.
Making offspring tokens with General Kreat
>>97701246If it let you pick two cards to dump into your graveyard, it would be insane because you could find an infinite every time. Still pretty good but way more expensive than other tutor options in black.
>>97701269>It's 6 mana to get it into play.???1B+1+2 = 4B = 5cmc
>>97701246>3 mana entomb effect>4 mana reanimate effect with restrictions >5 mana to cheat a 4 drop into play>sorceryIt does a lot of things but doesn't really do them efficiently. It's a playable card but it's not that good.
>these past few threadsOldfags will remember the Christian vs schizoanon debacle. Now it's pedoanon vs poopdick schizo, since time is a cycleI'd like to commend everyone who is ignoring them and talking about their cards and decks instead of arguing endlessly about nothing
>>97701177Play constructedLower your average mana valueLook at decklists that function well, and see how many cards of each niche they run (ramp, draw, removal, wincons, etc)
>>97701246what are some budget combos this can enable
>>97701203correct
>>97701368Pick a budget combo that involves a creature with 4cmc or less.
>>97701368Probably nothing on its own but can search and revive pieces of a Skirk prospector+Metallic mimic+Putrid goblin combo
>>97701368It only fetches one card so it's not really doing anything another tutor couldn't do for you.You could be cute and throw something like prized amalgam in the yard and then animate something else 4cmc to get it back for free as well. Nothing super busted though and wastes the most powerful part of the card which is the tutor effect, but an option if you already have a good revive target in the yard.
can somebody help me. do you think a rejuvenating springs with a misaligned foil stamp is more worth than a normal copy?i think it looks ugly, why would anybody pay more for a misprint like that
>>97701461Might help the question if you post a picture

>>97700814Nah, it's too expensive, and I don't like proxying. I think proxying is valid, just not for me. Same with cedh. If cedh was cheeper than I'd make a deck. I tried making the cheapest magda deck that I could for it but the price range was out of my reach, so I stopped.
>hurr i play le cedh im so le smart check out my "bracket 2" deck that consistently wins on turn 4
There is no reason to hate cEDH unless you got pubstomped, and often it really isn't cEDH and just a Bracket 4 or even a decently made 3 and you're just underpowered.
>>97700814>TQYeah, but I never play them. One's the food chain sliver. The other is the Nignog Monster. Both decks have only 1 match each. The format kinda sucks honestly. But I just have them for the sake of argument.
>>97701720>There is no reason to hate cEDHother than it existing that is
>>97701730Sour grapes
>>97701720I hate cedhtroons because they're consistently pushing to have the game balanced around their retarded needs when the entire reason that Commander is popular is that it's a casual format made for casual players. They can choose to tryhard at a partygame if they want, but trying to change it should get them ostracized.
Haven't been here in over 3 or 4 years. Keep getting banned over squirrelfag disputes. Are these still high test commanders?I tried out Kresh, Karador, and Darien, all of which have quickly become my most favorite decks to play that don't feel boring nor netdecked.
>>97701743Magic was supposed to be a causla game from the start, but we still ended up with competitive 60 card decks. Whenever a game gets popular enough, a competitive scene WILL form because that's just the natural result of people optimizing their strategies. Every game that gets large enough does this: Magic, Pokemon, Chess... Unironically, if you hate that, I would say stick to bracket 1 games and try to encourage your table to have those brackets onhand. It doesn't help either that most people don't even know what cEDH is.
>>97701760>Unironically, if you hate that, I would say stick to bracket 1 gamesWhy would I? Your entire response has nothing to do with what I've said, I have no issue with people playing bracket 5.
>>97700814>Do you have a cEDH deck? Tell us about it!Yesh, never really play them that much. There's one group of cedh players at my LGS and I'll sit in a game with them one a month but I usually play casual bracket 2 or 3 games.I have a Rowan storm deck (been loving the card since it came out), Tayamn, and now I'm learning land loops for my Wandering Minstrel deck.
There is nothing better than BTFOing landfallchuds.
>>97701776Okay, fine, sure. Has it been cEDH players pushing for hybrid mana or a Rhystic ban? Is Biorythm dominating cEDH circles now?
ur mom is dominating cEDH circles now
>>97701789>BiorythmDid anybody even beg for this to be unbanned? Felt out of left field to me.
>>97701801Shit, I begged for Emakrual to be unbanned. Literally easy to deal with these days.
>>97701789Actually yeah Rhystic has been the most requested ban in cedh circles and more importantly they're constantly pushing for extremely obnoxious auto-includes like mana crypt or jewed goytus to be unbanned. As long as they just stick to playing their silly minigame I truly don't care, but literally nothing they want should affect the banlist ever.
>>97701801No, because the decision to unban it was just "would it be cool if people can play this big splashy finisher, and would it be oopressive if we did?" The banlist is for the sake of lower brackets, and always has been. The committee really doesn't give a thought about cEDH when banning cards, they look at how casual play is affected and if cards will warp those formats.
>>97700933Most of the old "wisdom" of deckbuilding is a trap nowadays
>>97701806>auto-includes for one colour bad>auto-include usable for all colours goodI don't get it
>>97701806>Autoincludes like Crypt are begged for>Autoincludes like Rhystic are not(X)Rhystic is a problem in lower brackets because it's an IQ test.
>>97701825I have no real opinion on whether or not rhystic should be banned actually, but if it ever gets banned it should be because if its impact on casual play.Cedh should simply not play into that decision in any way.
>>97701246The point of modal cards is that they actually arent efficient anon.
>>97701833But this one is.Beseech the mirror is only 1 mana more efficient and considered to be a pretty good card, but requires a sacrifice and 3 black pips. This is not as good as beseech but it's still fairly efficient, more efficient than demonic tutor if you're trying to get a 4 mana creature.
>>97701246Honestly this card is one big tiktok video away from jumping to a few dollars yeah.
>>97701743No they arent? Where do you people come up with this stuff lmao
>>97701806What cedh circles anon? Post ten examples of these cedh circles asking for it to be banned
>>97701843Except its not. The analogs were posted with their mana values showing that it is objectively not.
>>97701843>more efficient than demonic tutor if you're trying to get a 4 mana creature. What if I want something else?
>>97701884What's more efficient than this for tutoring a 4 mana creature into play besides beseech the mirror?Again demonic tutor would cost 1 mana more to achieve the same goal, not to mention that this can alternatively also be used to pull 2 smaller creatures. Not saying this is gonna be a 30 dollar card but i think it's definitely pretty good.
>>97701832>cEDH wants to ban Rhystic>Actually the casual players want it banned!Fuck off
>>97701898Nobody said this.
I hate cedh fags because they pestered Sheldon to ban Flash. I loved flashing Gary with all the "return to battlefield when dead" instants
>>97701896It's alright, but it's very archetype-specific. It being sorcery speed hurts it too since a GSZ is an instant and costs only 1 pip (I'm aware that's another color, but GB is the easiest example I can think of for decks that NEED a specific 4-drop).
>>97701905You are nobody
>>97701913I mean it's still effectively equivalent to Demonic if you use it to get a 3 mana creature and there's lots of those in basically every archetype that are relevant.
cEDH is silly. shuffling up 99 cards is already tedious, now you want me to do that only for the game to end in one or 2 turns?
>>97701938>I have tiny hands and its everyone elses problem Cedh players dont care if you play it or not anon. Only casuals think this much about the other half of the community.
>>97701941>the other halfLoooool reminder that Gavin confirmed you are not even 1% of the playerbase.
>>97701941>muh handsKnew this would be the first reply kek. I just want to spend more time playing than shuffling. It's why Light-Paws was the gayest deck I built.
Lowkey i do have small hands (about the same size as my gf's) and it feels impossible for me to elegantly shuffle my double-sleeved decks.
>>97701948You are actually retarded. Casuals/competitive. The actual numbers dont matter.>>97701949That is a very small part of the response anon. Stop thinking about cedh, competitive players dont care.
>>97701953I always just used two hands and pressed them together from side and side together.
>>97701955I don't really think about it. Just voicing that I do find it to be a silly sub format since the thread was discussing it.>>97701953I find the most efficient is to pile shuffle then mash shuffle the thirds before cutting them all together.
No one at my LGS cuts decks. Even when I offer it up to be cut they just do the little knock on the top card and say thats good. So ive started stacking my opening hand on the decks I bring as its insanely easy to appear as though youre shuffling while leaving the top cards untouched. Its a lot of fun I get a huge thrill from it. Sometimes I dont even stack the opening hand properly to win, its more about getting away with it than cheating to win.
>>97701953I have played against physically handicapped people who ran tutor packages.
>>97701941The problem with cEDH players is that their existence is a moral indictment against them. You saw a format where every deck and archetype can be viable, and you decided to "break" the social contract so you could build a deck that wins on turn 2.
>>97701998I dont think you know what morals are anon.
>>97700814>picNot fair. Liu Kang had his gf do this move to his opponents
>>97701983People like you are why high trust communities can't exist.
>>97701998This all comes back to your mad that people beat you and instead of getting good, you want to blame them for pushing an existing system.
>>97702046No, the CEDHtards stay in their containment zone at our LGS. Enjoying CEDH also doesn't make a player particularly good at the game. A lot of the time they're newfags.
>>97702067>seething this much about people who ignore youGrim existence.
>>97701875Yeah no, why dont you post 10 examples of cocks you havent sucked you fucking faggot

I'm sorry, I'm terribly sorry, but... I think I'll just play my chaos deck! Hope you like playing with random cards from the other players hahaha! And taking turns in a random order! Relax it's just a game sometimes things simply don't go like you expected!
>>97702228To my knowledge this guy has the most creature types outside of Changlings and the Everything counter from Omo
>>97701983>No one at my LGS cuts decksThis is kind of baffling. Having come from other games it's not even a matter of making sure your opponent isn't cheating but just a habit to offer and to cut your opponents deck
>>97702138He's pretty decent. I've considered him in a few of my combat focused decks since so many of them are incidentally multi type. He wouldn't be my first inclusion in your list though. I'd be working on your ramp package first and chucking out the stuff like Hardened Scales that only works if another smaller package in the 99 is online. The 3 mana rocks need to go. You're playing 38 lands which is pretty much correct for this kind of deck but you'd rather be playing 2 cost rocks or Rampant Growths to skip turn 3 to get to play your meaty 4CMC cards. Also, Ashroot Animist and Cactusfolk Sureshot are a must for this deck. Xenagos too but he's kind of expensive. If you do end up playing Zookeeper I'd suggest playing Elvish Mystic and Llanowar Elves as mana dorks since they're both Elf Druids meaning they're good at a baseline and beefy little shits if you're able to play Zookeeper. They're still in your budget. Ziatora and her Envoy are also good.

In Berserk rape is characterized as bad and not natural, so it is left wing drivel in denial of the natural order. If this upsets you you are essentially a foid.

>>97703629That's an antiquated way of thinkingBrackets are in practice formats and it is wotc's interest to have B2/B3 events firing in LGSs and rest assured your rando opponent will not respect your scrubiness, only fools cannot see this long term goal
>>97703632Not impressed. Do you have any knowledge of the game at all? Why should anyone listen to you?
>>97703625The sentiment from >>97703444>Casuals dont know about magic; it's why they're casuals. Is a plain wrong and even a second thought would make it obvious that understanding the game =/= you take it seriously/competitively. >>97703494Huh? Do you not read manga on paper?

>>97703513>fun for casualsWhere is this stated in the rules? Why is every man nowadays such an effeminate faggot
>>97703691Hilariously sheldon truly believed people can self regulate themselves despite being a lvl 5 judge, a job that implies people cannot in fact self regulate
I think the game should be fun for casuals , but also there should be a side that's fun for the competitive folks.
>>97702161>she takes their sideGrim. But this is life when youre a low t betacuck
>>97703702Hence brackets was born
>>97703431Anon this game was never intended to or marketed towards children. At best you can find some marketing aimed at teens, who are expected to start being able to handle more mature topics. When Mtg came out initially it was almost exclusively advertised in magazines whose main demographics was adult males. Calling it a children's game just reflects poorly on who (or whoever makes the claim) and nobody else.
>>97703616Anon a casual fag thought >>97700865This would be played. He doesnt even realize its an auto draw if resolved, because casuals know very little about this game.
>>97703715Mtg is for 13+ and 13 year olds are children
>>97703701He also ran full fetches and abur duals in his notoriously terrible saskia deck that seemed to be bad on purpose. Anyways, regulation only matters for the top end of the format because the rest isnt trying to win in the first place, so appeasing them is irrelevant.
>>97703688Tergrid is not and has never been cedh.
>>97703629Hate to break this to you, but until CEDH is an officially sanctioned format it is casual as well.High power level kitchen table is still just kitchen table.
>>97703724>she was 17 years 364 days old you sick fuck
>>97703727I keep trying to tell casuals to just stick to B2I just keep advising, maybe someday they'll get wise
CEDH is the equivalent of competitive smash.
>>97703742Ironically smash players are wiser to the truth that they're playing a pvp game, edh casuals could never
>>97703701>judges exist to help people understand the rules and interactions of the game >this means people cant self regulateThis thread is full of the dumbest fucking people alive.>>97703724That's not what ratings means anon. Ratings are about subject matter, and how old we as a society think people ought to be to engage with certain topics. I repeat, Magic was advertised originally in magazines with adult male demographics. Address this or stop talking.
>>97703740That wont help them. It just has a different cardpool.>>97703742No. cEDH let's you play whatever you want. Casual has 10 billion house rules and no items final destination battle cruiser 3 hour games only, no interaction.
>>97703752Judges regulate slow play and rewinds and actual cheating incidents you idiot, you clearly have never been with random people
>>97703753B2 is more forgiving and telegraphed unlike cedh where being seat 4 is groan inducing
>>97703763You are a yugioh tourist and have never actually played in or even watched tournaments.
>>97703770>oops i got exposed>quick move goalpostConcession accepted
>>97703769Yes and no. Telegraphed? Sure. But being competent in b2 is MUCH more powerful than being competent in b5 because adaptation and improvement is harder requires a greater amount of additional knowledge to solve your problems. Anyone can build a deck to hate a competitive deck by singleing it out, even if you also lose, but you cant really do that in b2 without learning a fuckload and no longer being casual.
>>97703644I don't need any, i just get what i want because this is my format (source: Gavin)
>bought one of these on impulse at the lgsFeel like I just got baited into a trap.
>>97703792There are growing pains yes but people will eventually learn to pressure the simic player, even now they sometimes do it on instinct
>>97703793And into the trash you go. No one will listen to you, but have they ever listened to begin with? I think not.
>>97703780You said something factually incorrect anon. Every time ive asked for a judge at lgs its to clarify rules. Every time ive seen people ask for a judge at lgs it was to clarify rules.
>>97703805There's levels to this, and if you're at the "certain colours strong" rather than the "this deck is using these key cards for that wincon, how does my deck compare in terms of tempo" level you are exactly who I'm talking about.
>>97703802What makes you think that?
Players can't self-regulate.If the existence of a banlist wasn't already evidence enough, "my deck is a 7" should have been enough practical proof for this. The banlist and GC lists need a radical degree of expansion to acknowledge this reality the RC ignored for decades.
>>97703836Nah. Just every commander that says "draw a card". And partners. And ad naus.
>>97703818The fact that you need to clarify rules means you didnt do your homework in studying rules and thus cant self regulate dumbass
>>97703825Just imagining all the possible situations where you will sac half your lands just for someone to use a enchantment sweeper.
>>97703821'Certain colors strong' is very reductiveIt would be wise to know that cedh archetypes can more or less be ported over and cradle big mana can simply be turned into itlimoc
>>97703859Eh, kind of. But that's hardly worth being scared about with that cardpool. There is a wide variety of incredibly fucked up stuff you can do.
>>97703877Enchantress is a top tier B2 strat yes
>>97703848>oh I was wrong I better be disingenuous nowGood bait anon. The existence of judges does not logically imply that people can't self regulate. You are free to try and support this claim again but so far you have failed.
>>97703836After they refused to pull the trigger on the rhystic ban I lost all faith in them caring about the health of this format from top to bottom.
>>97703847Commanders don't even make the top 10 list in most cEDH decks.
>>97703891>oops i got exposed again for not doing my homework>better double down! There's a reason judges cant clarify rules that would give players hints on how to winBut keep going king, casuals are fun to farm not just for wins but for lols too
>>97703886why would I play a 2mana instant enchantress effect when I can play a 2mana enchantress permanent?clearly you play that and make 50 tokens in one turn
>>97703895Mine was when they took Food Chain, Kinnan, Urza, Yuriko, and Winota off the list in the name of hypothetical "fair b2 decks" that don't exist.
>>97703902Anon you genuinely do not even know what the words self regulate mean.
>>97703886>enchantressYou're funny. But this is my point.
>>97703911Just kill the commander on sight just like cedh does with sisay
>>97703905You pay 4cmc and flash it back after hermit druid. But if you want cheap card draw...
>FNM>playing with some I seriously think may be borderline retarded>can’t read upside down>always misreads cards>frequently gets confused when other people read their own cards, thinks the effects apply to him>grabs your cards to look at without asking>poor hygiene >go out of my way to let people know I’m playing a low power gambling deck>don’t have Sensei’s Divining Top or any of that shit>he won’t let me play the first few turns>removes my creatures>counters a fucking sorcery that makes token creatures>ask him why he’s being like this>”im just scared of what you might have”>wastes all his resources on me>I manage to recover>fuck him up instead of dealing with the threatGod it felt good.
>>97703913If people can self regulate there would be no need for law enforcementJudges are rules enforcementTherefore just like irl, mtg players cannot self regulateYou are so in denial that you are a naive casual with casual hot takes lmao
>>97701806>and more importantly they're constantly pushing for extremely obnoxious auto-includes like mana crypt or jewed goytus to be unbanned.these would be GCs so you would still be safe in your bracket 2 games anon
>>97701806>Actually yeah Rhystic has been the most requested ban in cedh circlesIt's actually partners. Rograk specifically.
>>97704004Rograkh is the strongest commander and grixis is the best color combo, rogsi putting up results despite being jewlotus crypt and dockside is testament to that
>>97704037*losing* jewlotus and co. I mean
>>97704037Up for debate, but it is literally a free mox in the command zone. Personally green and red are getting a lot of fucked up new stuff that wind up splashing in other decks.
>>97703802>As an additional costI think this is what really fucks it. Not just that it can get hit by board wipes but that if it's countered you sacrificed half for nothing.
>>97703807Well apparently Gavin values my opinion more than yours!
>>97704081Considering how much your riding his dick, I think not.
>>97704086Not an argument sadly.
All cards that cost more than 30 bucks need to either be banned or printed into the ground.
>>97704092About what? You knowing anything about magic?
>>97703949Mox Sapphire dies to Meltdown and Tolarian Academy dies to Wasteland. That doesn't make them balanced.

Shopping cart theory:You are asked to return a carts to the corral. You are not rewarded for doing so.You are not punished for not doing so.This is the simplest test for self-regulation in society. Most people do not, and without ban lists or brackets, most people would not stop themselves from cramming all the most broken shit as possible into decks. As the other anon said, "my deck is a 7" proved that just like irl, people can't simply just take the fucking carts back.>>97704097>Do this>Another card goes up in price>repeat endlessly until sets are so bloated they are 3000+ cards in every set.
>>97701743It's like arguing with Smash players dude, you're not going to convince them that their favorite party game is anything less than God's greatest gift to humanity and the sole reason you should be alive on this planet.
>>97704106There are too many busted commander centric decks like sisay rocco and krrik to ban them allUnironically have at least 2 spot removal
I wanna play this card in Nazguls because it looks cool but i feel like it would make me mill myself to death in 2 turns.I guess that would be funny at least.
>>97702033No, people that refuse to do their duty and cut their opponent's deck are basically begging for people like him to be born.
>>97704126In every mulligan? By that point your ratios are fucked because that's 29 removal so you're losing so much tempo on reactive draws you're likely going to just lose on tempo even without their commander.
>>97704145In B2 there's a no infinite thing until turn 9 or something rule in play so at a certain point you have to see the telegraphed play
>My advice? Just always have it kid.
>>97703256I swapped out the full art Fallout Sol Ring I upgraded my Caesar deck with for a surge foil TMNT Sol Ring recently. Sometimes flavor is simply better than class.
>>97703715Teenagers are children you moron.

>Can think of a dozen ways to build in a certain colors and have it not feel "more of the same">Try to build in another color pair>Its all the sameAre some color pairs just more interesting or am I just so far out of my depths right now I'm blind?
>>97703911Hey if you don't run artifacts Urza isn't an issue.
>>97704253Wotc goes out of their way to have color combinations have their own identity (like dimir being mill and rakdos being group slug)You could go out of your way to break out of that mold and make a deck that's generically good but you then run into another problem, muh stapleslop
>>97704247Have you built artifact decks in each of these colors?
>>97702892Thanks anon and yeah that might have helped.>>97702898I gave the Maralen away for at FNM earlier for free to a guy that was building her as a deck.>>97703362Thank you!I spray them with a matte spray first, then put mix up some white and black primer to help cover the gold border. After that I block in colours that are close to what I want and then start building up texture with small amounts of paint
>>97704154I mean then you run into the "didn't literally win but may as well have" problem that people pointed out the moment brackets clarified expected game length. cEDH Tivit can patiently wait 8 turns before finding a win, but in bracket 2, a game against him is effectively over on turn 3 because nobody will be able to make anything meaningful stick for the rest of the game.
>>97704292W8 how did 6cmc tivit get into play turn 3? inb4 god draws with sol ring/reanimate>tivit is unbeatable in b2Source?
>>97704289I'm retarded and didn't mean to his send yet.I usually paint a little bit into the existing art to help blend the colours together and I find it helps to merge them together. When im done I spray it again with a matte sealer to protect the card and also to give the paint and the card the same finish as it makes a huge difference. The paints are just acrylics I use for 40k models, the painting skills have been surprisingly transferable into 2d.
>ban most of banlist>bring back tuck rule>bring back old legendary rule>ban UB cards by defaultThere. I fixed your format.
>>97704307The larger play pattern of cEDH Tivit is a (comparatively) slow control deck that inches towards Tivit as its wincon because it's a self-contained value engine that's intrinsically super punishing to try removing. Similar play patterns emerge with more "casual" commanders that generated colossal amounts of value despite not literally winning on the spot.
>>97704377I'm not even saying tivit is weak but to say it's unbeatable when you can just go bigger than it in B2 is another thing entirely
>>97704307>on t3Grim monolith or mana vault are enough by themselves, and beyond that you have like a dozen other 0-1 cost mana rocks or rituals and a handful of 2 cost rocks.
>>97704411Sir grim monolith and other GCs are banned in B2
>>97704416I thought the hypothetical was Tivit cedh vs bracket 2.
>>97704419No the hypothetical is "how to beat KOS commanders like sisay in B2"

>>97704449just use that card that gives your creatures fear and run artifact creates like everyone everyone else
>>97704456As a former minor i can tell you that teenagers are treated as minors just like children so essentially no difference
>>97704476>i lterally only play cedhSo you refuse to play casual with casual players? Hmm i wonder why...
>>97704482Except for the developmental difference. Teenagers are biologically adults and socially expected to be approaching the capabilities of an adult. Children are coddled, teenagers are challenged. And none of this really matters because as you fags continue to ignoreMAGIC THE GATHERING WAS INITIALLY ADVERTISED TO ADULT MALES. Which isnt a self regulation issue but instead just a natural error that occurs when a game has a massive web of interweaving rules ans interactions.>anecdotesGive 5 examples where there was blatant cheating going on in your games and not just rule confusion. Surely your experience will align with your claims?
>>97704692Dude edhtop16 doesnt shy away from calling out cheaters, where is your naivete coming from lmao
>>97702161No, this is a "you problem", but the problem is "I see MTG as a space away from my GF," not any of the dumb play mechanics rationalizations you've come up with. You wouldn't - and don't - care about any of these things when your gf isn't around to witness them.

>>97704628Thanks man, I found a card I want and can never get, but that's alright.
>making vehicles deck>they're so unpopular I can get the foil version of every vehicle for 5% to $20% more than base printingI'm gonna look like a huge dickhead with a 80% foiled deck
>>97704870Do you have a titan though
>>97701983Okie dokie. Clearly winning a casual game means far more for you than is healthy.I moved to a new LGS and loads of people there offer to cut and I think it’s super fucking gay. If you care enough to cheat in commander then I can only assume things are going so horribly wrong in your life that you need this-not even a win, but an advantage. If you lost that game I assume you’d just kill yourself?
>>97704914Let me guess, you're austistic and you dont like people touching your cards
>>97704913The warhammer vehicles are the rare exception to the rule (I love reserved list 2! I love reserved list 2!)
>(10/13/2023)>The Doctor's companion ability allows you to have two commanders if one has the ability and the other is a legendary creature that is a Time Lord Doctor and has no other creature types. Creatures with the changeling ability, for example, can't be a second commander this way.Sorry no fun allowed partnering these faggots with the only 3 changeling commanders
>>97704924No. I just told you why I think it’s stupid. If someone needs to cheat in a casual game like this they’re a very broken person and they need this more than I care to prevent it.

>>97702881It's not my taste, it's this thread's general tastes. I had been on this thread for years and that was the general consensus of everyone for the most based commanders of each color. How were those other commanders? Maybe I should try a netdeck on tabletop simulator and find out.I don't have an excellent taste. It was a result of me posting my deck collection and everyone said I was the most soulless hard r on this board and I should kill myself. So that lead to me asking about based/high test commanders. Which I've slowly worked on buying. This is my post from like 2020 or something.>>97703470I think that everyone agreed that there's no way sultai could ever be based. But glancing over the sultai commanders, I'm pretty sure I remember only Sidisi was the based sultai if everyone didn't hate sultai.
>>97704955I thought everyone knew that?I mean it says "THE Doctor" not "A Doctor"
>>97702408You should read Berserk instead of just looking at Berserk memes

>>97705250Y-Yes sir...
>>97705247It could use some changes desu but it's decent and also good value
>>97705196>>97705215Holy larp. No one ever goes to the lgs with one deck.

>>97705288I am sure your abused girlfriends love you lmao
>>97705275I did back in the beginning when I only had 1 deck. I didn't want to spend more than $100 on magic. But we all know how that goes. Now I have 48 decks.
Is this card overrated or underrated. I'm thinking about trying it out in my Abzan deck. The non-instant speed gives me a bit of pause, as does the casting and activation cost, which I pretty much always would be paying 2 life, which already adds up sometimes in my deck. *cough* Sylvan Library *cough*
Why do Ninja decks suck? Feels like there is more than enough support now.
>>97705321Probably because they feel like they're fully supported with Ninjutsu into Blightsteel Colossus

>>97705390Do you think its a bad card..?
>>97705426There are two components used to determine the bracket of your deck anon ^.^ one is a set of deck building restrictions and the other is the intent behind building the deck. So yes this sounds like a 3.
>>97705423Go on, show me some good ones that absolutely arent shoehorned into a single busted commander or have some sort of baby shoes caveat. It's a deck building restriction; cant be good.
>>97705433Vibes are not, and will never be, a deck building restriction.
>>97705438Correct.... read my post again and this time use your big boy brain instead of the little nagging fag voice that lives inside you
>>97705426Pretty sure the brackets say the deck shouldn't be designed to win on turn whatever. It's about consistency. You getting a 1 in 500,000 hand one single game does not make your deck t2 super deck.
>>97705440"intent" is vibes. "Intent" is meaningless. There are restrictions, and that's it. I read your full post. Its wrong. I'm right. You're a dumbass. Simple as.
>>97705447You read my post but nowhere in my post did I imply that vibes are a deck building restriction anon. So no, you arent right. It appears you struggle with basic reading comprehension to be honest. Vibes are part of the bracket designation, not the deck building restrictions, im afraid I made this painfully clear and only an ESL or an actual clinical moron could br mistaken so which is it?
>>97705449Nope. It's nice that you feel that way, but you're essentially autism maxing on a single throw away line to justify uour scrub behaviour. If the rules arent written, they dont exist, and if they arent specific, they arent enforcable.

>>97706191FunInvitingReplayableExcitingDo note that it's pretty much just a PR term and they gave no tangible examples of how any of these impacted design (it was also allegedly just for commons/uncommons). Consequently that's why people associate it more with rampant powercreep associated with WAR onwards which came out at the same time they said they were implementing it.

>>97700814>TQ: Early on I made a hipster Marath deck that sucks because it's budget and focuses too hard on stax until I can assemble a win with the commander. It's too reliant on command zone and folds to gilded drake if I dont have REB ready. If commander sticks it's very good at controlling the board since so much of CEDH is creature based now. It's really a bracket 4 but idc I'm not a tournament grinder.
