So at best all they can do is make Forest, Crater, and Barricade terrain have reasonable rules for blocking line of sight again or giving more than just a worthless cover save that gets ignored by half the guns in the game. The ruins aren't going to suddenly stop being L-shaped because GW cells ruins that are L-shaped and has for over 20 fucking years

I feel like 40k might even be a better game if instead of tons of re-rolls, you simply reduced the amount of things that require a roll. Roll to hit, armor saves, static (but modifiable) damage values, not much else. That was something I liked about BFG, you either hit or you didn't and that was that.Or, I'll keep my grog hat on and say things were better when getting one(1) re-roll on a unit's to-hit roll because of a character ability was pretty remarkable. It's not like the dice fuck you any less with how many more you're rolling and all the re-rolls, sometimes those little cubic bastards tell you to fuck off.I remember liking things like the old Bolter Drill, where you could choose to re-do a squads bolter volley if you wanted, but you had to stick with the second result even if it was worse.

WE would get the Skullcannon to give extra ranged firepower and Bloodcrushers so their HQs actually have a unit that makes sense to lead, TS would get some fast-attack equivalent melee with screamers and shooting chaff with horrors, and EC would get a cultist equivalent out of daemonettes, some cavalry out of the seekers, and a little extra shooting out of the contorted epitome and infernal enraptress. Plus it would give all of them a centrepiece in their greater daemons without forcing you to take the primarch every game.
