What is your most hated change in 4th?
>>97712184>TQNone of it. All of it.
>>97712173So either Aos Battletomes or Eye of Terror next week then.
>>97712184>TQthe new KO unit in the OP pic. They add a dash of pirateyness that the army aesthetic desperately needed.
>>97712184>TQ>FavoriteProbably the "ability stack" + ability timings being cemented in text. The game just flows so well now and there are hardly any "looking back through the book" moments.>Most hatedIt's a tie between 3" universal weapon range or the hero-based unit choice restrictions in the regiment system. One makes flanking and tactical charge placements almost irrelevant and combat range effectively 5.999 inches while the other makes list building less personally involved even down to what you buy.Honorary mention: The current garbage terrain rules that make these the "best" terrain to use.
>>97712184i think 4th has been the most clear rule set for AoS so far, but it is also so dull.
They're coming! Leaks confirmed it!
>>97712565The leaked releas already happened
>>97712184>TQ>Added more life to my game store, avg between 15-30 people playing on the weekends now. >spearhead is its own thing>SOG was good so far unlike third editions seasonal shit other than that I cant say much for positives. As for negatives well...>>97712367>t's a tie between 3" universal weapon range or the hero-based unit choice restrictions in the regiment system.you see im less down on this as a concept but rather its execution. I want to see them mess around with weapon ranges down the line. Also hero based unit choice restrictions would be completely fine if you could buy upgrades that lets you take something thats not keyworded, like >beast tamer lets you take x amount of beasts Really my most hated aspect of 4th is just the 3+ roll place holders and the removal of bravery with control point manipulation. I don't think bravery or battle-shock has had good philosophies in 10th 40k or 3rd edition aos, but abstracting it to control points instead is just lame. 4th is great, but its just solved and needs the walls and roof to its foundation to get me to think about it some more when im not actively playing it. Also they really need to find a way to replace the double turn with something more flavorful on a faction by faction basis, or at least by grand alliance.
>>97712580>Also they really need to find a way to replace the double turn with something more flavorful on a faction by faction basis, or at least by grand alliance. How do you flavourfully replace ordering 2 things?
>>97712580Oh yeah, 3+ shit rolls are fucking awful and up there for my least favorite things about 4e, but they're not really a specific "change" like the TQ asked. For combat ranges I'd be fine with first base-to-base models and the ones behind it. But right now 3" almost always guarantees a whole squad can fight no matter what, save for the biggest squads of chaff or a big piece of terrain making the charge not a direct line. The hero based restrictions are very bad in my opinion because someone's perfectly legal 3e army ran the risk of being unplayable or needing several unwieldy regiments to play with the same models. And then having to take into account "do I have the right hero to even play this squad I want to buy"?
>>97712367what even is this
>>97712695The empty bases and neoprene cutouts for the old Wyldwood. The way the current terrain rules work make them the best kind of terrain to use when speaking in terms of rules since you can fit so many models inside it to get benefits of cover. But it makes the table look flat shit. The Unstable rule makes terrain with any bits taller than 1" a pain to navigate.
Another one

>>97713118Sylvaneth and DoK. And sometime after that we've still got Seraphon, SoB, Slaanesh, CoS, Ogres and Fyreslayers to go.
>>97713118Dok and sylvaneth, also obrs battleforce
>>97713124was he a good guy because he was gay or a bad guy because he was a crusader?
Idk how I missed it, but crypt horrors really do just have their entire spines out. Wonder how that works out for them. These are just mutated humans right?
>>97713190yeah, but they're also almost undead so it's alright
>>97713190They're also huge, so i assume hulking out caused their bones to outgrow their flesh
>>97713190Horrors are mutated by vampire blood so they're partially undead
>>97713190>These are just mutated humans right?Yep. All mordans>>97713248Winged ones are mutated by dragon blood, so it's not as simple as mutation=undeath
>>97713248You can't be partially undead. Either you are or you aren't.
New lore dump
>>97713325If you're dead that's half way to being undead

>>97713353Something something furry
>>97713371How was this a whole series anyway?
>>97713379It was a different time and kids weren’t subjected to furries as much back then. Although that probably made something like THAT scene in lion king hit different to some poor youths. Oh and also I’m pretty sure you were made to pick and read your own, books and teachers pushed scholastic fairs hard to parents.

They’ve ogors in the city on ozempic.
>>97713472He was a gigachad back in his youth
>>97713472I like to believe that's just what ogres are naturally supposed to look like if they aren't cursed to eat literally all the fucking time. All the extra body of the "wild" ogres goes to their width instead of their height.
>>97713472TRVKE: GW just wanted to redesign the species
>>97713276>Winged ones are mutated by dragon bloodOh shit I didn't know that, that's pretty cool
>>97713477getting old is scary as fuck and I dread it. I hope people like him and sam hyde only aged the way they did becasue they drank a fuck ton of alcohol or drugs or whatever because I dont want to end up looking like that when im near my thirties.
>>97713581Alex Jones is 52
>no sylvaneth announcedIt's joever. They did say they were revealing aome more stuff tomorrow though, any idea what that could be?Also sidenote but holy shit the 30k liber book covers are fucking ass, I thought our battletome covers looked like trash but that's a whole new level. Are they all like that?
>>97713608>any idea what that could be?Space marines. >Are they all like that?pretty much. I think its been an issue since late 2nd I think.
>Everyone bitching about Old World Okay
>>97713663This is a TOW thread now. We're taking over.
>>97713608>They did say they were revealing aome more stuff tomorrow though, any idea what that could be?They emphasized the word "cool" a lot so I assume it's some kind of cold aligned faction whatever it is. We don't really have a lot of those, though...
>>97713688>don't really have a lot of those, though...Your ever winter bwo?
>>97713688Ogres are kind of cold coded? Maybe space wolves for 40k
>>97713688Kislev? Or did they specify it's for AoS?
>>97713714>>97713715Didn't the leaks say they're squatting basically all of the BCR stuff though?
>>97713748They’re refreshing all of it. It’s just lead bealchers that are gone. Even the cannon is sticking around.
>>97713714The leaks for Ogors does not make it sound like they're leaning much into the Everwinter side of things, they're even bringing back the maw. >Kislev? Or did they specify it's for AoS?No system specified. Worth keeping in mind that there's another reveal show pretty soon, so it is possible they drop something big-ish that they couldn't fit into the event.
>>97713428it was a sci fi drama and the animal shit was just window dressing. > new development in the alien threat> kids turn into an animal to solve the threat>have a couple pages giving fun facts about the animals biology and why its relevant in the scenario>one grueling fight/fleeing scene later and they've temporarily solved the crisis, to continue fighting aliens in the next bookthe core books were less interesting than the ones that were from the aliens perspective and took place on other planets.
>>97713718Kislev would be hilarious to drop on a random monday reveal, no way>>97713748No? Bcr stuff is all staying, I think only the mournfang kit is getting a refresh. Most of the refreshes and squattings are on the gutbuster side.Even then I think it's only leadbelchers (fucking whyyy??) and gnoblars actually getting kicked out, the rest are just getting updates.
>>97713765ogor refresh would be big enough of an announcment that they would just save it for adepticon if they had it ready. I can only see them announcing ogor stuff if it ends up being only one or two units refreshed and some new heroes if they aren't doing the full range.
>>97713772They're not squatting BCR but it's also not getting refreshed mostly, there's only rumors of new Mournfangs and Icebrow IIRC. The new special characters (Glittermaw's daughter, some Maneater chick, Prophet of the Maw) are also all Gutbuster focused.
>>97713765>they're even bringing back the maw. That doesn’t really mean anything. And it was said that there was some inter civil war over who or what they will end up worshiping in the end. Ever winter isn’t even exclusively beholden to gorka morka to begin with.
>>97713786Yeah I'm not expecting Ogors tomorrow, especially since all rumors point to CoS being the next big release for AoS. Kislev would be a wild drop out of nowhere, but also kinda plausible that they would cut a TOW announcement from Adepticon if they have too much main game shit to cover.
>>97713792It'll be good to have some BBWs for my collection
>>97713793Please understand, I'm not saying BCR are getting squatted, I'm saying that all signs point to them not being the focus of the Ogor Revamp, which makes it equally unlikely that an Ogor announcement would be focused on the Everwinter.
>>97713772>>97713805>Kislev would be hilarious to drop on a random monday reveal, no wayGW did promise to reveal more Orks on a monday and the "reveal" was a rumor mill set of like 3 photos. Maybe they will do the same for Kislev.
>>97713837Yeah, but that would essentially confirm kislev to be coming relatively soon™ compared to orks which we all know were getting shit anyway. I think a whole new faction is the kind of shit you want to save for a reveal show, even just teases thereof.I could see the rumoured chaos warriors being shown for tow though, and then at adepticon they do the tk/we box? Who knows. For us it'll likely be all about CoS especially with the eshin spearhead and the cogfort which is supposed to be gw's largest plastic kit. Ogres are probably for later, I don't expect them to be revealed til june at the earliest.
>>97713379It was really good. The animal morphing thing was a fun gimmick that led to all kinds of weird situations and unique battles, but it was a solid story about a group of teens learning to be terrorists and slowly getting hardened and traumatized by war.Animorphs fuckin kicked ass man
>>97713837Very clearly their hand was forced on the Ork thing by the box leak, they weren't planning on that.
>>97714024For the boss sure but to be fair why'd they bother with the sneak peeks, those weren't leaked right?
>>97712918I wonder if goblins can aquire some warped sense of chivalry like how nurgle has with the order of the fly.
>>97714122Idk about chivalry but isn't that kind of the whole thing of grinkrak's warband? He 'knights' them as that makes them feel more self important and therefore ever so slightly less craven?
>>97714137Damn, I gotta read into that now.
Gonna ask my elf friends for the LRL battle tome again and do you think in 5th edition we will finally get dark elves.
>>97714219>5th edition we will finally get dark elves.depends on how seraphon feel. But it should be an (a)elf edition.
>>97714219I think TOW will get dark elves while AoS is in its 5th edition
joseon dark elves. Trust the plan.

>>97714260Give me full weeb Dark Elves. I want not!Executioners wielding nagamaki.
>>97714092Because they were in the middle of announcing stuff for Eye of Terror. They wanted to make it clear that this Ork stuff is different, he's not a one off like the Tau and Tyranid Votann got, there's gonna be a whole Ork situation in the future, but he's not going up for preorder with all the rest of the Eye of Terror stuff.
>>97714296Either Weeb dark elves or give me Roman Dark elves. I just hope the give us a Dreadwaifu reborn.

>>97714795You should definitely buy the darkwater box. It has lots of beastmen!

Speaking of, i wonder when we're getting the 3rd set of UW reprints
>>97715610There's a few warbands I'd still like to pick up.They're great substitutes for character miniatures because they're basically the same price for ~4 of em
>>97715610They might have to change the fornmat, becauae there aren't enough left for next round of 4x4
>>97715610BCR should get rimewyrms
>>97715589Well yeah, but for a somewhat reasonable price now
>>97715887They're called mawpets
>>97715892Mawpits are avatars of Ghur, rimewyrms are Fangathrak's spawn
i think we should get more ships and boats in art. i wanna see the different navies of the mortal realms.
>>97715925We don't have a lot of ship depictions do we? Obviously kharadron (kinda), and CoS with some misthavn art and I guess technically the idoneth shipwreck. I think there's some ghoul ship art floating around (heh) somewhere too.
>>97712184Standardised regiments of renown are great - mercenary companies were just a GHB experiment in 2e and a last year addition in 3e. We've gotten so many and more are added each book. Something like Troggoth fer hire is crazy in the context of AoS on the whole. Everything else, 4e is soulless.
>>97715915>implying fangathrak, the mawgate, isn't an incarnation of ghur
>>97715932in my mind khorne has ships shaped like sharks, with their front being an oversized boarding hook in the shape of a jaw.
>>97714460Weeb would be better to differentiate from the more hellenic vibes of the high elves.
>>97715945>more hellenic vibes of the high elves.Careful, you're going to set off that one autistic hislet shitstirrer
>go to a store>they have jack shit for DoK, literally a single kit>It's Maneleth>buy her She doesn't look particularly appealing. And I'm not sure she's a "DoK" figure but she's one in fhe fluff so I'll suck it up. Maybe base her on a larger command base or use her as a unit champion.
>>97715966I think she's DoK just legends. Her face is somewhat improved by a competent paintjob but it's one of those where it's not entirely 'eavy metal's fauly imo
My chorf spearhead is finally done. Now I can actually play the game without hating myself.Anyone here had a chance to try out the spearhead specifically? How does it play?
>>97716015looks gr8 m8
>>97716015I realy like those lava bases
>annual black library celebration>a bundle of short stories is the only announcementNobody wants to read AoS?
>>97716015Nice! I haven't played against it personally but I heard it's pretty underpowered. Good luck anon, let us know how the games go.>>97716055The whole celebration was kind of lackluster as a whole wasn't it, like three new books announced.
>>97716061>like three new books announced.Depends on how you count I suppose.>Hive is said to be one novel split in two volumes sold as a set>Rynn's World is just a new edition of an old novel>Zardu Layak's character novel is completely newIt'd be fair to count that as four or as two.
>>97716061"Underpowered" or "it sucks" seems to be the only things I hear about them. I guess I'm just interested in if they're more offensive or defensive. I'd love a more elite force over dwarves that die to a stiff breeze.>>97716047>>97716025Thanks guys, they've easily become my favorite army to paint. Such fun at every angle (except for that rocket battery. Screw that thing)
>>97716015The gold trim you've used works really well, it looks like an improved version of the official Helsmiths colour schemeHow did you manage the lava on the bases? I was looking into trying something similar
>>97716178I expected the lava to be tricky but it's actually quite simple, provided you have an airbrush.>Paint red guidelines on the base for lava flows>Texture paste for the rocky terrain around the lines (I use AK volcanic earth)>Airbrush white ink and then red ink over the guidelines, making sure to spill over some onto the rocky terrain around it for glow>Paint over the guidelines again with orange and then yellow, and you're done
>>97716015I played the elite OBR one vs it and got dumpstered.
>>97716015>>97716249Lovely work btw.
>>97712184>What is your favorite change to AoS in 4th? well written rules>What is your most hated change in 4th?boring rules
>>97716055Yeah, the releases have been barebones for a while. Abraxia not getting a tie in book for like two years was crazy. idk what's going on, same with TOW which hasn't had anything since lords of the lance at launch. >>97716055BL was very weak this year, they only announced two new books at all
>>97717002Yeah, BL output has always been spotty for AoS, granted. We'll get a cluster of books within a few months of each other and then silence for six months or more. 40K gets more books but it's like 90% pure slop, I wouldn't necessarily say it's better to be a 40K fan, especially if you play anything besides Space Marines or IG. >>97717162Why did she do it?
>>97713338Does aos has a east and west?
>>97717582Interesting question. We know the interplay of Hush and Ulgu gives a day and night cycle, and various books have used lines like 'Hysh shone high in the sky' as a kinda stand in for noon, but there is nothing to suggest Hysh travels in a consistent East to West, or that it moves in each realms firmament, or that the realms themselves don't rotate as well It seems likely that there is a 'north' stand in for each realm, either pointing toward the realm center (where there is less magic) or realms edge (where magic is concentrated in every realm but Shyish), from which one could derive a 'north' direction. I think the RPGs tackled this by saying something completely retarded like they use ferrets that have a sky map on their fucking skin for navigation, but this isn't mentioned, to my knowledge, in any 'official' BL or battle tome publication. Frankly it's so fuckin stupid that, like much of Cube 7s shit, it should be ignored
>>97717582Yeah. They mention heading north and such in books. I assume they assign the compass based on something to do with the cosmos, like whichever direction facing Azyr being north or something.
>>97717582>>97717690No. Compases show in/out of the realm and then i guess you spin right/left of the centre
>>97717582No more than the solar system does >>97717631There's a certain celestial body from azyr (sigendil) that's always visible or some shit, I think they use that to navigate at times
What titles does Nagash have in the mortal realms?
>>97717832All the ones that he likes and many that he wouldn't.
>>97717832Supream Lord of the Undead is all you need. You can call him Old Bones (not even Nagash, just Old Bones) if you're a village serf in some backwater town
>>97715966>ManelethGod I wish her model was as better, I love her art
>>97718151I found the old bones thing weirdly endearingIf they ever do another GA death faction it should be a death cult thing.
>>97718307I don't know if it's intentional, but I like how it's akin to real world culures using another name for their gods (especially their gods of death) to not invoke their attention on you. Like how the ancient greek Harpies were sometimes called "the kind ones" because they were terrifying to them
>>97718416Fun fact, apparently the real slavic word for bear is compleatly gone, because people used to believe saying it summons the beast, so they started using fake names to not call it and eventually everyone forgot the real word.

Iron jaw boars really fit more in chaos than they do in their own army.
If I wanna make a Norscan army, how do I do that? I'm checking out Slaves to Darkness but it's all just Chaos Warriors. The closest thing I got to vikings is Darkoath Marauders but they're all women.
>>97719809The noble razorgor lives on
>>97719854Nvm, I looked more closely and there's males. But why more women than men?
>>97719854You probably want to buy the TOW/Fantasy marauders as they are basically just Norscans and put them on round bases if you want to play AoS with them.
>>97719854>>97719880Also no women in the Fantasy marauders. There's women in the AoS darkoath because AoS is the more inclusive mainline setting that faces more investor pressure. While TOW is treated as a historical so you don't see the different races mixed where it doesn't make sense and the glut of women.
Good news: the Legions of Nagash AoR permits listbuilding with Nagash and any non-Unique Death units that are not Regiments of Renown. So you get the whole Grand Alliance to fool around with.
>>97719908Also the AoR gets a unique Nagash warscroll and a lore with nine spells in it.

>>97720023I wanted to show him the horse marauders too, but I don't think I was unfair in my assessment of why there is so much DEI in AoS vs very little in TOW. GW themselves calls TOW their historical setting. I didn't make any value judgements either way.

>>97720181I'm going to go ahead and assume the second thenNot that I disagree with the notion that whfb is obviously closer to being a historical setting than aos is, but actually *being* a historical setting is quite another thing and it would be really weird for gw to claim so

Age of Sigmar
>>97720471Never heard of her.
>>97718273>>97718555lmao
Now that they have these two full campaigns, I'd love to see rules for running characters through multiple campaigns. You could have your warband fight their way through Ulfenkarn only to end up in the Jade AbbeyThey could add totally separate mini campaigns in supplements or White Dwarfs, where your crew gets lost in forest infested by Spiderfang or something.I just think that would be cool, basically a full Age of Sigmar RPG
>>97715932There's some talk about human, Stormcast, and Gloomspite airships in the Drekki Flynt books.
>>97716093why are you counting a new edition as a new book at all?
>>97720132>Sigmar would be, though he'd only really fit cos and sce wellobviously he's the "human" god, but in lore he was responsible for uniting the gods of order together to deal with the other 3. He's arguably the reason there was every any kind of "grand alliance" to begin with>Also why alarielle? And not say kroak or teclis?Alarielle is the most literal "god" afaik kroak and teclis are just really really really strong wizards bordering on archaon level. A massive amount of the important stuff that happens in AoS happens in Ghyran which Alarielle runs so it feels apropriate to have her be the lead. I'm less familiar with the other two but as I understand it Teclis is mostly preoccupied with Hysh and Kroak doesn't really have a majority of any realm under his control.
>>97720041As has been discussed one million times before, the Age of Chaos causing massive displacement of peoples across all the realms, the flood of refugees into Azyr, and the flood of Dawnbringers back into the Realms means that most mortal settlements in AoS should be pretty diverse. That's just the nature of the lore. And it probably wasn't even for DEI reasons, considering how much of that was laid down back in the 1st Edition and in justifying the old CoS mishmash army. The accidentally created a setting that demands significant mortal diversity.
>>97720664>and Kroak doesn't really have a majority of any realm under his control.Who gives shit?
NEW OGRES FUCKING WHEN
>>97720664I love her and her thicc thighs
>>97720779No one wants to see ogres fucking but you, pal.
>>97720621It would be cool. Make rules for creating your own custom character too. Then you could run it like an RPG campaign with your same character running through the games.
>>97721042Yeah, basically just an RPG but with pre-boxed campaigns and encounters with unique minisand the Warhammer branding so it will make lots of money
I fucking hate my city. I live in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the US, and there is not a single game shop with a regular Warhammer night anywhere near me. There's one shop that has a couple tables, but if you want to play you have to set something up on Discord ahead of time. And even then, good fucking luck if you want anything other than 40k or maybe Kill Team.
>>97720695The diversity your talking about is different species factions from different realms migrating them to other ones based on what the overarching plot demands at any given moment so there's a logical reason for every faction to be fighting any other faction in any realm. It's window dressing lore to give you a reason why your ironjawz are fighting OBR in Hysh on the table. The other anon is talking about arbitrarily adding women and subsaharans to units for no reason other than to fill a quota and a misguided belief that doing so will drive sales. Note how they never arbitrarily add elves or dwarves to human faction units or vice versa
>>97721380I also live near a major US city and it's the mostly the same here. They have RTT's and spearhead leagues and things like that but mostly if you want a game of AoS, you'll get it scheduled on discord before hand. Not sure who's carrying a full 2k army with them at all times to just walk into a shop for a pickup game.
>>97721395...no anon. The diversity I'm talking about is racial diversity. If people from Ulgu and people from Aqshy fled to Azyr and their descendants marched out to found Excelsis, you're going to end up with a variety of skin tones in your Steelhelms unit. Kharadron Overlords skyports are literal skyports, Duardin from all over the Realms are going to be moving all over the place. Even the Lumineth presumably faced significant displacement and internal migration in Hysh from when they fucked everything up.Even if GW paints a variety of skin tones because it's woke, it still fits the lore. This is what the setting just is. If you don't like it because you don't like seeing dark skinned people, at least have the dignity to admit that's your problem. Don't pretend that the lore is something it isn't.
>>97721410>They have RTT's and spearhead leaguesgod I'd kill for that. >Not sure who's carrying a full 2k army with them at all times to just walk into a shop for a pickup game.sure, but wouldn't, like, a "Warhammer night" at the LGS be a thing? Every Thursday or second Friday or whatever people come play Warhammer, and you can be like, "Hey I'd like to give it a try. I've watched a bunch of tutorials on youtube, anybody mind having a small learning game with me next week?"But instead you have to find someone to set up an appointment with, it's so much more stressful. The whole point of getting into the game instead of just building and painting for fun was to have the low-stress socialization!
>>97720664Her influence also breaths into other realms too. Ghur particularly has people who actively worship her there.
>>97720664Is Teclis not a proper god? I thought he and Tyrion were both gods of light. And Kroak doesn't need to be a god to whip ass. He's arguably the strongest being in creation outside of the Chaos gods.
>>97721380It's frustrating. I'm in a large metro area and a good 90% of the wargame activity happens at least an hour drive away. I've got 1 LGS that does a monthly RTT about 20 minutes away. Also have a GW store a bit closer but hardly anyone plays there unless it's like their first 40k game.>>97721451The whole "Warhammer Night" in my experience is the absolute lowest effort from a store to "try" and build a Warhammer crowd. I've had 3 nearby stores just slap "Warhammer Night" on a calendar, not carry much stock or provide adequate tables and then give up on it soon after or let the stock rot on the shelf.
>>97721577Monthly RTT of about 6-8 people most of the time.*This past weekend's was cancelled because we only had 4 people and I wasn't one of them due to being busy.
>>977215954th edition has been a disaster for turnout for anything that isn't Spearhead. Genuinely awful edition.
>>97721600Oh, you're mistaken for my case. Before 4th there wasn't an RTT period. I played MAYBE 6 games all of 3rd. I've played my Warhammer in the last year than I have the other 11 years in the hobby because they started up the AoS RTT.
>>97721608I've played more Warhammer* Christ, I should proofread better.
>>97721608I wish my area was like yours. We haven't been able to get a slow grow going this year or last year despite trying twice with a lively community in 3rd. 4th has completely devastated interest in AoS in my area.
>>97715891Got mine for 65$
>>97721431>KO has one dark skin tone dwarf>LRL has zero brown skin elves>literally just the humans have alternate skin tonesyour arguement fails to hold up because that's not how GW implements the diversity. they shove women and browns in the human factions because they want women and browns to pick up the hobby, not for any lore reason.
>>97721451I agree that a once a month set thing would be good, but part of that also comes down to space. Literally every LGS near me that sells warhammer, including the big one with wall to wall warhammer merch and terrain for all the tables still focus more on card game players. 100% of shops will prioritize running events and having tables open for card game players over wargamers because it's a much larger more lucrative market. I don't blame them, but this means in basically every instance any organized day that tables are set aside for wargames, means they aren't hosting for card games. The shops near me host card game events most days out of the week, outside of those discord scheduled events there are almost no dedicated days for wargaming.

>>97721395>Note how they never arbitrarily add elves or dwarves to human faction units or vice versa>>>97721708Nta but what that anon was pointing out is that it makes perfect sense for a lot of factions to have the amount of racial diversity that they do. Keep in mind Aos is a post apocalyptic setting (twice over if you count the end times). E.g. Cities of sigmar armies are made up of pilgrim-refugees from all over the realms who fucked off to azyr and have now come back to reclaim the lands from chaos. Speaking of, darkoath tribes are similarily made up out of a mismash of different societies and cultures, which fell during the age of chaos, forcing them into this roving warband lifestyle which is obviously going to include lots of different people.Like yeah obviously the "doylist" explanation is gw wanted to add more women and brown people to their units, so they can tell shareholders they're going after untapped markets or whatever the fuck. But what anon was trying to point out (I think) is that they accidentally created a setting where there's a perfectly reasonable "watsonian" explanation.I say accidentally because I don't think this was their plan all along or something, (and if it didn't really make sense they still would've done it, make no mistake) because if you look at early aos releases like fyreslayers, it's all white dudes, compared to the more recent vulkyn flameseekers which are much more varied in terms of skintone (and gender).
>>97722465>I say accidentally because I don't think this was their plan all along or something, (and if it didn't really make sense they still would've done it, make no mistake) because if you look at early aos releases like fyreslayers, it's all white dudes, compared to the more recent vulkyn flameseekers which are much more varied in terms of skintone (and gender).Or look at SCE, who were originally just big buff dudes without faces and now they're a horrific mish mash of dindus and tranny faced women.
>>97722465>But what anon was trying to point out (I think) is that they accidentally created a setting where there's a perfectly reasonable "watsonian" explanation.I say accidentally because I don't think this was their plan all along or somethingThere are other ways to do it. Something like Conan where it's the world, but everything is super close together so you do have these kingdoms of different races right next to each other and traders between them. You can do it right, but 99% of the time it's done wrong

>>97722620The chaos spawn are.
>>97722543Well yeah but like I said they didn't set out to create a world or setting where this diversity makes sense or anything, it just sort of happened to do so.Their intent with the mortal realms seems to have been to make them as open ended as possible, so basically anything you can think of for /yourdudes/ makes sense to exist somewhere. A world that is not literally infinite but might as well be, much like 40k's galaxy where you can always pull another 1000 solar systems out of your ass if you need to, except now it's continents.Speaking of, is Hysh the only realm we have like a full map of? >>97725741I think the celestant prime is more like the stormcast version of what say olynder is to nighthaunt, or urak taar to chorfs. At least he was, now I think yndrasta or bastian fill that role too. He's too stormcast specific to work for a general order model, even more so than sigmar would be if he were ever to come to the game in model form.Again, I advocate for dracothion, he'd fit most of order:-already has stormies on lock by default-same for CoS-big azyrite reptile, seraphon are good-is a dragon, elves love dragons, that's idoneth, DoK, LRL and sylvaneth sorted-literally wears a piece of mallus, dwarves love that shit, so fyreslayers and KO are goodI'm only half joking, the new zombie dragon was so baller I just hope they add more dragons to aos. Never cared for the noodle design before but shordemaire turned me around.
>>97725860Discounting whatever’s available in the grey water supplement, I guess chivalric duels with the order of the fly? Could try to hunt down cankerwall too. Sticking with nurgle I guess you can also do the standard remove nurgles rot patrolsAlso outcasts. It’d be a straight forward ambush scenario or something of that nature that’s thrown upon em. Could also have them come across spites.
So what's the reaction of everyone to the new models?
>>97726362They’re fine. I’m curious if they have options.
>>97726362i think gw is washed up and filled with WOKE WHORES because they redesigned them, it was better when they had their TITS OUT and i WILL NOT BE BUYING.
>>97726362I think it was smart to anticipate the opening of the Iranian market and pandering to them in advance.
>>97726362underwhelming, but exactly what I would have expected from GW trying to make female models. They could have been really thematic and visually consistent with the rest of the range if they just had leather armor instead of metal, but they had to fuck it up. This reads like the guy who got a job at GW because he loves space marines, but gets told he has to make models for the evil elf faction in AoS and with zero passion just copied the drukari designers concept art and called it a day. Like it's just plate armor, every single cities of sigmar femal soldier could be wearing the same shit and it would look right.
>>97726362I don't like themSomehow it looks like they're simultaneously wearing too much and too little
Bros...we lost Duncan
