Why are redditors so against using AI for yugioh to find niche tech? I think it's in the realm of possibilities but people here are having a melty saying it'll NEVER BE POSSIBLE:https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/1s5c8ad/does_a_finetuned_ai_model_for_yugioh_exist_yet/
>>97788735>Why are redditors so against using AIsame reason normalfaggots are against anything, it's a self-superior ego driven moral crusade.it really doesn't even matter if they're right or not, if it's the current popular opinion they will warp their worldview around it. It becomes the single most important thing in their universe to moral highground about whatever the current thing is, and right now it's AI.
>>97788606>What are your thoughts on the "Legendary Decks" product line? Which deck(s) would you feature in next year's and why? They're the only products I'm interested from Yugioh. I had an idea years ago that I would like to see one based on the Waking the Dragons/ Atlantis/ Noah arc of the anime. Not the one we got already, which was underwhelming. I'm thinking one that features The Big Five, Noah, and Gozabora Kaiba. I guess it's more like the Speed Duel sets, with 8 decks to have home tournaments.Other ideas I had was a structure deck of Kuriboh, and one for Flame Swordsman, Red Eyes Black Dragon.
>>97788735ai circumvents skills that people have already prided themselves in and gotten a hold on. it feels rather cheep if someone can automate stuff like that.
>>97788888>those fucking digitsPreach. The qualms they have about it is that AI “steals” from starving artists (it doesn’t any more than those starving artists steal from people with actual talent) but if you (rightfully) discount that they really have nothing. I could be convinced of the energy issue but… if that’s such an issue then why is nuclear power so bad again?
>thread opens with aishillsStarting off strong I see
>being pro-AIGiving internet to India was a mistake.
>>97788909>>97788926AI is overblown. By everybody, in every direction. If you actually actively work with it you'll become disenchanted very quickly. It is a cool new tool with a lot of use cases, nothing more or less. It enthralls midwits because it's genuinely already more intelligent than them and provides them the self-awareness they would otherwise lack, making it a psychological and intellectual crutch (especially for the narcissists who form "relationships" with a sycophantic yes-man chat bot).If your IQ is higher than room temp and you actually understand and have used the technology then it is no longer.black magic and just another thing. Impressive at times, frustrating most others.
>>97788963>>97788967listen man there's a lot of AI grifts but in the realm of possibility, it CAN work. give it a few years and it'll be doing ftk loops with the most retarded shit.
>>97788975It's so weird. I think it can be helpful most of the time. but yes a good chunk of the time it is retarded and can't solve world's problems right now. Will it? Maybe but there's like 20-30 years down the line. I think it's in a state where it's insanely overhated by commonfags but it's insanely overhyped by bizfags and investortards.
>>97788606#UnhitTheKit
>>97788979even if you trained a LLM from the ground up on yugioh rulings and card text it would probably hallucinate things constantly >>97788985it's a search technologyIt's a very impressive search technology, but it's not the omnissiahit still needs fact checking and peer review and that won't ever change
>>97789025ngl it would probably just pull up shit people already posted before. given some time I think the hallucinations would tend to be less tho. But it would definitely reduce a lot of manual hours sifting through all the cards finding interactions, if you ask it to generate 10 combos and 6 of them are plausible, that's something.
>>97788735Read the comments, the supposedly fine-tuned AI konami uses in master duel is incredibly fucking stupid. Go ahead and tell it to build a deck based around any card you want, dark magician girl for example. It will give you a 60 card abomination that doesn't work. The fire king gate in solo mode is also a good example of how terrible its AI can be, the last mission in that particular gate makes you fight a near full power mermail deck that actually runs staples (ash, maxx, cbtg, impermanence), but unless you brick (or your deck is shit) or they roach you, it's almost impossible for you to lose. It doesn't know how to properly use its resources, i've seen it shit out its entire deck just to endlessly link climb into abyssalacia and coral until he loops all its copies, which makes it miss lethal sometimes. It's also completely incapable of going first despite mermail being infamous for its barrier statue lock.
>>97788888Because there's no value to it. You can either just search for specific card text to get every possible interaction/bridge for a deck or just look it up on ygoprodeck because what you've discovered was probably already been discovered and dismissed. Communities of players dedicated to singular decks or archetypes start labbing shit out as soon as cards are announced. That's ignoring the fact that AI has been famously bad at recommending decklists and has a tendency to flat-out lie to people.Let me pose this question for you; What "niche tech" could you possibly be looking for that can't be found by just searching by card text in any simulator or Konami's official card search systems?
>>97789023No, she deserves to rot in jail forever. Faimena should be there too, fuck turn zero fusion decks.
removing links and pendulum is not enoughgenesys needs more aggressive points rulings to be funlimit of one special summon per turn5 card extra deckritual cards in the extra deck12,000 starting life pointsmulligan system with the first mulligan being freeone field spell on the board at a timeand on deck out, player with the highest life points wins
>>97789103>>97789086But you're talking about a bad AI implementation (if you could even call it that). It just feels like a bad faith argument. As stated like from what this guy was saying >>97789025You could use it to search combos based on starters and extenders or of cards you don't know about (and let's be honest searching for specific tech cards isn't exactly the easiest thing). Will it hallucinate? Yeah. But as I said if it returns at least a good chunk right isn't it worth the try?
>>97789123All it really needs is to heavily point any and all decks that are tier 1 to 3 in advanced format, who the fuck wants to see kunny tune trounce everything else in both formats? And stuntranny shit should be banned on principle, fucking everyone is running 3 fissure/shifter/macro because they're instant blowouts to 99% of decks.
Why don't we just play speed duel or rush duels instead?
>>97789137They've tried before and they proved that AI bots just aren't their thing. They didn't even fix infinite loops in tag force until the 3rd game, and they did it wrong because it ends the duel and grants the win to the one who started it, irl if you purposefully trigger one you get a game loss for being a faggot.
>>97789147>speed duelI loved it, but konami killed it two years ago. There was a small community at my locals but everyone lost interest once they dropped the final set and now they all play GOAT, which i find boring.>rush duelOCG-exclusive.
>>97789140>All it really needs is to heavily point any and all decks that are tier 1 to 3if every single competitive player is using any one same card/strategy, that's too much and it needs to be addressedit's definitely a dutch boy situation because plugging any one hole will cause three more to burst open... but that's the fun of a living format with an evolving meta. A new banlist every month with AGGRESSIVE point changes would force people to actually think.it would make many people screech autisticallybut that is finethey are bad people
>>97789137>b-but you're just talking about bad AI! What about a GOOD AI?Even if a hypothetical good AI was there, it still wouldn't be more productive than the communities of autists that lab this shit out as soon as new tech is announced. And you still haven't answered the question of an actual use case.
>>97789123Shut up, retard.
>>97789179Autists are autists, they wouldn't even look at certain stuff. I already gave you a use case too lol>>97789151Technology improves every day. That's all I'm getting at. Why completely dismiss something when it will get better? Saying an outright "no, there will never be an AI that can help duelists" is complete bollocks because there's almost no ceiling on this thing.
>>97789211Anon, it's KONMAI, they always do the bare minimum.
>>97789225who said konami will be developing it?
Make her viable.
>>97789238You can play her in the new meta decks but not being able to be special summoned is going to hurt also her effect doesn't really help you start but she's a good card if you go T3/T2 to say fuck you to any spell/traps your opponent places.
>>97789301That's not an issue, pachy finally got banned last year because ryzeal mitsurugi was able to shit out its usual board and then floodgate with it. You also need to completely give up on backrow in order for her floodgate to be live, and using ryzeal mitsurugi as an example again, it really needs that set purification/prayers. Lastly she merely doesn't let the opponent set backrow, but they can activate spells just fine.If you were to run a unsearchable backrow floogate, you'd be better off with this since she completely kills quick plays and lets you pop a set spell/trap when your opponent sets anything. Also she's way sexier so diabellze>denko.
>>97789211Searching for potential combo starters and extenders isn't "niche tech." That's tech that will pretty much always get absorbed into optimized builds for those given decks, unless it requires you to do something impractical that you can't rely on outside of youtuber combos. If you just wanted combo starters and searchers, DON'T want to read the cards yourself, DON'T want to interact with human beings, DON'T want to reference decklists or ygoprodeck's card search function to see what cards are used in what decks... you could just go to yugipedia or the fandom and read the Card Tips pages that every card gets, where searchers will tell you pretty much every single card that they can search.
>>97789238>Special Summon 1 monster that is "Denko Sekka", or a monster that mentions it or "Sekka's Light", from your hand or Deck, ignoring its summoning conditions.
>>97789123retarded
>>97789368you can search sekka VERY slowly>>97789301>meta decks>turn 3lol??
>>97789399There's an upcoming lore deck that uses thunders, we might get a searcher for her soon, thing is all this >>97789368 still applies. She's just not a good normal summon.Play magnet warrior instead and start your combos/insulate your board further with a normal summoned koa'ki meiru guardian.
>>97789399yes?
>>97789383Alternatively,>Add 1 monster that is "Denko Sekka", or a monster that mentions it or "Sekka's Light", from your deck or GY to your hand, then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 monster. That way the effect is acting as a Double Summon. Also, >You can banish this card from your GY; for the rest of this turn, Spell/Trap Cards in your possession that mention "Sekka's Light" are also treated as "Sekka's Light"So that you can write some spell/traps that work with Sekka's Light.
>>97789383>>97789995even if cards like this were added Sekka still wouldn't be playable because she does fuck all about monster effects, hand traps, and non-continuous spells and has no protection and middling attacktrue support to make her playable would also require a field spell or equip card
>>97790148Making the card that puts Denko Sekka in your hand a fully generic normal summon would be good in a pretty large number of decks. Especially if it were on a Quickplay Spell for instance.
>>97790186see>>97789399the hunders are slow support but offer no protectionadding new support would need to be de facto better than this
>>97790232>Extra, highly-conditional Normal Summon tied to the activated effect of a monster that spends your Normal SummonYou're basically comparing Ice Knight to Sakitama here. Mahunder and Ice Knight demand your Normal Summon in the first place and have a limited scope in what they enable (moreso with Mahunder). Sakitama is a GOOD card that DOESN'T eat up your Normal Summon. That aside; a hypothetical Quickplay Spell that puts Denko Sekka in your hand and proceeds to let you conduct a Normal Summon lets you Normal Summon anything from Fallen of Albaz to Vanity's Fiend, during your opponent's turn. There's more examples one could come up with, those are just the two that immediately come to mind.
>>97788735Usually because AI is garbage at the game lmao. Often recommending stuff that isn't real or it doesn't work correctly. IE it will suggest using normal spells during the opponent's turn as an interaction piece.>niche techYou do realize how AI works right? It scrapes the internet for already existing information. Which means someone else had to suggest it first and posted about it somewhere. At which point you could have just used google rather then use the software that retards you.
>>97790429Addressing this >>97789211 too.>It's improving every day>There's almost no ceiling on this thingLmao you bought into a bunch of corpo bullshit and haven't used your own brain at all. (Likely why you're so fond of the software to outsource thinking to.)Follow this logic for a moment.I think it's fair to assume the whole rulebook and every ruling post ever made publicly up to a fairly modern point, including other languages such as Japanese rulings like those posted on ygorg which are then technically also in english now, has already been scraped and included in those datasets as they are publicly available. It also should have scraped every single card text available on multiple databases. Which means it should already be aware and extremely competent at the game. But it isn't, obviously. So what more "ceiling" does it have if we assume it's already been fed all of the above and it still is shit? You've fallen for a bunch of techbro bullshit that's intended to sell you their software.
i fucking hate yugioh
>magnet warrior ryzeal barely has enough space to fit all its endboard pieces>magnet warrior fiendsmith completely gives up on everything but naturia beast/masquerena and tellusion in order to shit out caesar/desirae, even though it's NOT safe from nibiru as it can only summon caesar way after the 5th summon (unless you hard draw engraver/tract, which isn't the point of splashing fiendsmith into any deck)>magnet warrior mitsurugi flat out does NOT have enough space to combo, as futsu, photon lord and masquerena alone take up half the boardI would play the deck pure, but even if i max out all the good names, i still have enough space for 18-20 handtraps, i don't even think i own that many of them.Should i run fossil dig? It searches duoterion, but getting droll'd afterwards means death unless i already have linear or beta in hand. Getting droll'd on duoterion meanwhile means i can chain bonding to it and keep playing because gogogo golem lets me extend under it.

>>97791630I'll post my thoughts that I had on /mdg/ I have a feeling you're playing more on it than paper but honestly that general is such a shit even though a few bad lemons crosspost. I like them playing FS K9 variant though.Pros>Able to play through droll and nibiru (with k9 or fs engine)>oppressive board especially with Nat Beast. I wish we had more quickie summons so you can still interact after you get board wiped but whatever.>Insanely flexible lines, resilient to interruption outside Droll/Nibiru.>Good amount of startersCons>Finishing power or going second is a pain. I was thinking of putting DRNM or Droplet since their going first board is pretty strong and consistent. However can't run F+V or Super Poly because of ED space and that shit is very tight.>Overall reliant on monsters which gets kinda fucked if you get droplet (although you have a LOT of monsters). Nat Beast at least prevents board breakers unless they negated/kaiju'd him>Not much recovery. Your ED probably empty on T2 onwards. I was thinking of slotting in Accesscode but I put underworld goddess instead since I need a way to get rid of towers + ED just going to be all dark/lights again and only 2 pops aren't really that great. I mean you'll have Linear Magnum Plus Minus that can allow another rock to swing and you could probably recycle Tellusion.>in relation to your commentNib isn't really a problem if you get FS out since meh, if they do wipe you out you still got plays and they wiped you out earlier. they can't nib you again so that just means you're home free. Honestly debating on putting accesscode instead of k9 since k9 can go into FS anyways so ripper is kinda a meh play since I don't play hound.

>>97798593It's because they don't want to bring themselves up to speed with the game because that takes a lot more effort. So they demand that the game be brought down for them. It's just blame, and effort, shifting their problems to konami. The other thing is that most people are biased in memory of the decks they were facing. When they played as a kid nobody was playing a good deck because good deckbuilding theory hadn't developed yet (not until like early 2010s) and they weren't in tune with what was actually good to play. The one other thing is that they expect to be good at the game and seal club. But ironically get shocked when they end up on the receiving end because they're the one's who are underdeveloped in terms of their play. They expect to be good at the game just because they played it a handful of times 20 years ago. So they get pissed off when they get BTFO instead.

>>97788735i tried a few times to use ai for TGCs it's always hilariously wrong about the fundamental rules, how cards work, or various situations and game states. it's significantly more useless than just coming here or on reddit, which is saying something.
>>97798593Because handtraps are gay as fuck and should be abolished. They only exist to stop your opponent from playing ygo, when we all came here to do exactly that! >But muh FTKsOh noes, Konami has to put broken shit on the Forbidden and Limited list and not just let cancer fester?! No we can't do that.
>>97798593>it's another when they're so self indulgent to think that the meta back then was better today.DIFO's meta was close to perfect, with only a few small blemishes sullying the pool. Ban Savage Dragon/Baronne/Apollousa (maybe allowing one of them), Feather Storm, Branded Expulsion, and you have a metagame that is without fault. Compare that to the current meta, where it's only okay after you gut half of each T1 deck/engine.Like I get what you're saying. But you're treating it like the pendulum only has two positions.
>Most people play Pokemon or Magic where I live>Closest Yugioh LGS is a 30min bus trip away>Decide to go anyway>Nobody wants to play, they just talk and do shit on their phones>FFW next week>Store is empty, they're sorting merch or something>"Well at least I will buy those singles I wanted">Retard store owners can't find it, and they're outdated cards so there's no way someone else bought them>"It's ok I'll come back some other day">FFW yesterday, saturday>Literally the first day of spring break>Store is closedUhhh so when do I get to have fun?
>>97799788>nooo you shouldn't be able to stop me from making my 10min ftk/otk comboFuck off retard
>>97800133thank g-d there's exactly 0 of those in the game right now g-d bless handtraps completely stop themoh wait what's that, reveal habakiri is like 17 different ftks?damn that's crazylet's limit habakiri to 1 just to be safe
If Konmai hated FTKs so much they would stop printing new ones. Between the Gimmick Puppet support and the whole Eneacraft archetype they clearly want there to be FTKs in the game. In fact YGO as a game can't turn its nose up at FTKs because from day 1 it was established you could just hard draw Exodia and win on the spot. So now it's no longer a matter of should FTKs exist in YGO but how strong is an FTK allowed to be.
>>97800262>g-dCongrats, you successfully baited and upset me.
>>97800289FTKs and OTKs are just commonplace in Yugioh, there will come a point where games just last a single turn and nobody gets to play (some of you will even defend this)
>>97788606How are you supposed to build a deck using booster packs when the cards in a given set require cards that haven't been printed in years? No, I don't think we should be forced to buy singles to build even a basic shit deck.
>>97800582Play Pokemon. No seriously, I think pokemon is the ONLY TCG to allow you to buy packs and be somewhat competitive, fuck they even sell meta decks for cheap.
>>97801025Pokemon is a shit game, and you're forced to compete against scalpers just to try and get the latest packs. It's ridiculous.
>>97801049>try and get the latest packsyeah for collector reasons, not for competitive playing reasons.
>>97799994Damn man, sorry to hear that. If they don't already have a set day for play then maybe ask the owner if you can make a quick flier to post up in the store to advertize a day for casual play (non tournament, more like "randos to play against, mondays at 6 at tables 1-4")
>>97800582>how are you supposed to build a deck using boostersYou don't.Blame kevin jewratYou basically can't in YGO and it's been like that for almost the entire history of the game. All because this faggot is stearing the ship for the TCG.You would think after making statements like pic (note it's from 2005) they would push to make products that are a better offer than what the secondary market offers like valve on piracy and is provent to work. But instead they doubled down on being shit.If you got problems with product this is the guy that would need to die for change to happen. The day he leaves is the day things improve. Some blame does go to konami overall though because all regions intend for sets to be more like expansions rather than something you can use solo to build decks.
>>97801297Does he even read what he writes?
>>97801297Seriously, how do these people keep their jobs?
>>97801297This isn't something you blame Tewart for. The issue is not that he fucks all the rarities, it's that Konami themselves will chop up support across multiple sets, sometimes having that support just being one or two cards among a pool of cards dedicated to a completely different theme. They have been making that problem a little less terrible in recent years since they're shifting gears towards more generic effects, but that doesn't change the fact that you can have a full archetype in one set, minus two or three of the cards you need to fully flesh them out that can be spread out in multiple other sets. Also, I can probably bet that they're talking about some shit like HERO where most of the cards that go into a conventional build for them came out sporadically.
For me, it's Curran.
