Hard to say. I don't think Rad counters needed it, but so many people can't remember what to do with them is absurd.

I would've accepted something like this too, but I haven't played those games in like 20 years so I don't remember the lore behind the weapon
>>
TQ
Reminder text isn't there to describe complexity, it's mostly there for one of two reasons:
>When card effects are trying to describe an existing effect with new templating. Vigilance occasionally had reminder text for this purpose.
>When card effects have an interaction which is important for the card, but which might not be known by players lacking an in-depth knowledge of the rules, like the assassin's creed reprint of Reconnaissance.

>>
How come Atraxa, Grand Unifier is such a highly-rated commander?
Love the art, but I just can't see the line of play. She's got good french vanilla stats, and can draw up to eight cards on entering the battlefield, but with a lategame mana cost and midrange effects (strong creature, a bunch of draw) I can't help but think that she makes more sense to have in the library than as a commander. If she's not part of any engine, there's no need to have reliable access to her, and it's hard to cheat out a commander.
Is it just for the colour spread since there's so few four-colour commanders? Is the idea to play a "creature spells you cast have convoke" effect so you can get her out at a more appropriate time? Do you just stax the game until you can play her, and suddenly have a big hand of useful cards when everyone else is struggling?

>>97801013
I think it'd make more sense to instead just pile on lots of token-sparing effects and use a better commander.
There's enough cards that do what you're looking for (wrath that spares your creatures) that you don't need to guarantee it
Here's the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
Ainok Strike Leader: Similar to King Darien.
Expel the Interlopers: Sacrifice wrath. If you've got the most creatures, you can force everyone to sacrifice their best stuff while keeping your best stuff.
Calamity of Cinders: Cheap to cast if you've got lots of creatures, hits most of your opponent's creatures for 6 damage.
Hour of Reckoning: Wrath that spares tokens.
Rootborn Defenses: Copies a token, makes everything indestructible.
Song of Freyalise: Ramp that later gives indestructibility.
The Seriema: You could use it to fetch King Darien from your library, have your tokens charge it up, then do a wrath that all your legendaries and King Darien are protected from.
>>
>>97801196
You either have a draw engine in the command zone or have to dedicate like 15+ fucking cards for it/enough tutors to reliably draw one in time to get your engine out. It's awful

I find it's best to look for way to get card advantage/virtual card advantage/filtering that can be an organic part of your strategy. With that Sarkhan for example, including dragons like Marang River Regent, Dragonhawk, Niv Mizzet Dracogenius, Drakuseth, can give you some advantage while you're "doing the thing".

Even something as small as vigilance can be a form of virtual card advantage; being able to attack and block the following turn can feel like having an extra card in the right situation.

Can you avoid paying cumulative upkeep by removing the age counters as soon as they're placed? Or is placing the counters then paying the upkeep a single event that you can't remove the counters in the middle of?
Wondering if Sustaining Spirit makes sense in a Tayam deck, 'cause if I can remove the counters without paying upkeep, then Sustaining Spirit simply feeds Tayam counters while giving protection but if I have to pay 1W every turn it's not nearly as good.
>>
>>97801383
It's one event. Run Solemnity to avoid costs entirely.
>>
>>97801290
>skill isue
>>
>>97801383
I think the way it works is that the counter being placed happens the same time as you try to pay it so there's not a point of timing where you can activate something to remove the age counter before you need to pay the cost.

What is thjs retardation of lgs's always charging way over market price for their sealed product
>my lgs charging $170 for a lorwyn eclipsed box, market value $110
It's like they're allergic to moving stock
>>
>>97802180
Either A: it is moving and they think people will buy it at that price
B: It is moving, and they are increasing the price because they need to make money back on investment of stock that isn't, like turtles or spiderman.
Stores don't sell shit at market value ever, because that's what they bought it at, (or slightly less) and their goal is to make money.
Did you fall economics in highschool?

I am trying to downsize my decks but I am failing. Even though I mainly end up just playing the same 4 decks out of 12. I recently built The Neutrinos. They're pretty fun.

>have a lot of cards where I can't stand looking at the art, alongside some favorite cards that deserve the YuGiOh waifu treatment
>draw art so that I can print out and slip on top of the card's art box

It all started years ago with Balefire Liege, one of my favorite cards, and now I'm planning on making a few variations of her for my deck.

I just want good high mana spells in color. But WotC is reluctant to print them into Standard without cost reducing stapled on because they will be absolutely dead cards in the format that only goes 4 turns on average.
Theyve had an ongoing theme of 4+ mana spells in izzet for the last couple sets and there's still not a single card 10 or more mana worth playing in the colors

The black ink in my printer wouldn't work right though. Spent two hours today trying to get it to work before I just gave up.

>>97802215
yeah some art in mtg is straight booty butt cheeks or from the UB sets which i don't like art design wise but i respect the cards themselves i wish they werent bloated with weird mechanics that are just regular text.

Neutrinos are more aggro than Balloon Man.

Cards for Herigast are in the mail. I just finished a "win the game" tribal deck with a bunch of cards like LabMan/Happily Ever After/Near Death Experience/Mortal Combat/Atemsis/Door to Nothingness/etc

One of my friends is so used to seeing my Balefire Liege that he said it feels wrong whenever he sees someone play a regular one, and I get the same feeling.
>>
>>97802247
I blame her for warping my 10 year old mind into loving tiny, petite waists and super skinny ladies. I can't even look at average women anymore, and this "thicc" trend disgusts me entirely
>>
>>97802289
in fairness the spiderman and marvel cards will probably both sell incredibly well during the next avengers hype cycle

Cope. Dead franchize.
By all accounts, the next Avengers movie is so directionless that even the actors on fucking set don't know what the plot is. Constant rewrites and reshoots, no plan at all.
It's going to come out and bomb so bad that it will end Marvel movies altogether.
