In games like Rogue Trader, or Imperial Maledictum where you are buying/trading/bartering resources rather than just being issued things like in Dark Heresy or Only War, how often do you or your players loot bodies or buildings? I feel like there's no reason you shouldn't "salvage" or "liberate" 99% of what you might find, but also that the games don't really take that into account either. Even if you take all the standard junk weapons off of a hive gang & barter/trade them in at a discount, you'd have a lot of wealth. Sure, sometimes what you find needs to be burned because of heresy & corruption, but not nearly all, & some of it could still be rendered into valuable scrap in the least. Hell, even the corpses would have a little bit of value as Servitor material or corpse-starch or organ trade. It's not like a GM can tell you, with a stright face, that there is nothing to take even if it's just ripping copper out of the walls, "ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO TELL ME THAT THE COPPER WIRING IS CORRUPTED BY CHAOS TOO, DUSTIN?" So, I'm curious, it can't take much investment either. A few servitors with some heavy duty equipment & maybe a few Servo-skulls for scanning what's worth money. Either a party member or one last priest hireling to make sure stuff isn't leaking Warp juice.
>>97917961>"ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO TELL ME THAT THE COPPER WIRING IS CORRUPTED BY CHAOS TOO, DUSTIN?"...yes, that's how Chaos works, and why Guilliman now forbids reclaiming chaos hulks. It's safer to destroy them and just build new ships.
>>97917961In RT, you'd need to get a fuckton of stuff otherwise it might be about net neutral for the cost of maintenance and fuel and such.
>>97917966So you're saying I can use fire to purify the mutant but if I slap this copper wire ripped from some rebellious infractionists hab wall into a crusible to reuse it I'm gonna get daemons?
>>97918118In RT you can salvage xenos shit without getting into too much trouble too. Like killing some corsairs & then selling their shit to a private collector or selling a taxidermied tyrannid corpse, etc. Plus you have a crew you can send in to demo a place fast. You can probably dismantle an small necron crypt, transport it, & rebuild it for some Magos. It's about scaling up your copper theft
>>97918119NTA but you aren't exactly reusing the mutant in any form, trying to take shit from space hulks that might have demons in it, especially chaos hulks, is begging for more possessed machines to just come alive and try to kill you.
>>97917966Man, primarchs have been in 40k for 25% of the game's entire life. There are kids who grew up playing 40k never knowing a time without primarchs. There are people who can't comprehend 40k without primarchs, no matter how much you try to explain, and just give an empty stare in response like you're speaking sumerian. It hurts, bros.
>>97915477That one actually looks kinda cool, like a pocket battleship.
>>97918793Looks like an LC modded into a monitor. Considering normal monitors are escort-sized and hit like a LC, it may well be a pocket battleship.Which is something you could also probably do, for the low low price of your warp drive.
Got invited to a deathwatch game, the kill team looks like it could use an apothecary. What would be the funniest chapter to be one as? i was thinking maybe iron hands
>>97918996I've had a Carcharodon apothecary once. Great medic, didn't spoke much but could smell that you're bleeding and need help from half the battlefield away. Also amazing with a chainaxe Buy yeah, IH apothecary sounds fun as well
>>97918793>>97918834Funny. It's the exact opposite of a pocket battleship, which ended up pissing off a lot of people.
In IM is it possible to Sustain a power but sort of suspend it so you can "dial it down". Like if I wanted to sustain Nightshroud so I can stealth, but lower it so someone can see me for a turn, only to bring it back a second later
>>97919180>"the ship is designed to fight everything">no mechanics that make it good at fighting everythingam I missing something or is this just a Dauntless with fleet defense guns
>>97919636>designed to fight everything>wording outright says it ended up being bad at fighting everything because it couldn't pick a roleAnon, please. That said, it's a dauntless with no dorsal and two fleet guns, so it shreds strike craft and torpedoes by the rules but it struggles against equivalent tonnage because of the loss of the dorsal slot. For a patrol ship / dedicated escort, it really is a great ship, and as the ship of a rogue trader it should do really well because players can minmaximus with macrocannons on the main slots.
>>97919636It's missing the dorsal slot, which is what caused buyers to throw a shitfit. It has p/s weapons, and the prow can hold any kind of weapon (lances, macros, torpedoes, rocket launchers, PB guns, etc), but the loss of the dorsal means it can't 2tap or 3tap with some weapon combos. Instead it gets anti-fighter coverage with two FD weapons which, depending on loadout, can discourage or even delete a wave per gun.
>>97919704>>97919843What fucking universe do you live in where a Dauntless gets a dorsal weapon slot?
>>97919918Ain't that something. I just checked, and yeah, Dauntless doesn't have dorsal. However, the Endeavor and Endurance have 2 prow 1 port/starboard, and the Secutor has 1 dorsal/prow/port/starboard, so I know it's possible to do a LC 3tap, and that is likely the reason why everybody usually uses those two ships as LCs instead. I think I must have looked at the wrong line in the Armory or something.
>>97919918no dorsal slot? holy shit am I getting mandelad
>>97919974Endeavor/Endurance have fixed torps in one of those slots. Or rather, the Endeavor does, and the Endurance is identical to the Endeavor aside from mounting lances in its broadsides rather than macros. The Secutor's the only ship that can three-tap (used to be the Lathe could too but its dorsal was errata'd away) and this is due to the mechanic in BFG where admech fleets couldn't take battlecruisers, but any cruiser or light cruiser they took got a free 60cm strength 1 lance as a dorsal. The Dauntless in BFG gets broadside weapon batteries and a strength 3 prow lance, but it's fixed to the prow arc and the alternative is more torps. Cruiser-grade torps, but still. The baseline for a Light Cruiser is therefore the ability to slap three different targets with escort-equivalent firepower, and the ability to target the same ship twice is a cool bonus feature. Three is unheard of.
>>97919918they gave it a dorsal in BFG Armada 2 lol
>>97920044BFG Armada did a lot of wack-ass shit and is no excuse to ignore primary sources.
>Necrons getting embarassed in the latest DoW trailerLMFAOO couldn't be ME
>>97920040I actually remember a conversation similar to this when I was futzing with battlecruisers and someone pointed me to the Admech BFG rules. Admech LCs in BFG couldn't take the dorsal lance, but they could swap prow torps with a prow lance, giving them prow weapons and prow lance that could fire front left right, and supplement the port/starboard cannons. So on tabletop they could 3tap too. That's probably where FFG got the idea of the Secutor from.
>>97920075One point of lance strength and two points of macrobattery strength is exactly one Firestorm worth of damage. This is BFG firestorm, not RT's gigabuffed escort firestorm. They really should've given us different sizes of weapon slots, emulating this gets far too silly.
>>97920112Regardless, because I was working under a flawed assumption, I'll probably change up that ship's fluff to be something like "They put the FD weapons in and ran out of space to fit their special lance tech too, so the ship they hyped up wasn't as wonderweapon as they said, and everyone got mad."
>It is impossible to rebel against the Imperium without worshipping insane murder demonsWhy? Why couldn't Horus have just been a big asshole who hated his father?
>>97920157I mean, first two HH books make it pretty clear that he was already becoming quite disillusioned and unhappy with his dad and the way the fledgling Imperium was shaping up even before any direct Chaos influence
>>97920194That's because the first two books were super rushed since they thought the Horus Heresy would be 8 books max. Then they realized it printed money and suddenly every glup shitto had his day in the hyperbolic time chamber.
>>97920157Primarily because Chaos are the big bad evil guys and need to be shoehorned in at every possible opportunity.Would've been a lot cooler if the story was more "Warmaster becomes ideologically opposed to Big E, plans a coup but doesn't think he can pull it off, lo and behold he discovers some special sauce Powers Beyond his Ken that he thinks he can control to usurp Space Dad, insert predictable ending."Unfortunately, the Heresy was written by something like twenty different assholes who each had their own agenda, and that's how we got The Knife That Makes You Evil.
Every fuckup tells a story. Some fuckups make the story better.
>>97920296>one adept rushed into the shipwright basilica, ancient armada scrolls in hand
What do you do with all of your leftover weapons, arms, and heads that you never used while making your models? I have so many frames of unused things.
>>97917961WAG campaign here. Right off the bat, I made it clear to the players that this isn't a MMO and we're not going to spend an hour of each session trying to sell looted pants and hats to a vendor. They immediately began stripping every enemy corpse of weapons and contriving believable ways of carrying it all, the overwhelming majority of which was lasguns taken from dead traitor guardsmen. When they made their next set of acquisition checks (with Departmento Munitorum personnel no less) and tried to use their loot for haggling, it was pointed out that this was all Imperial equipment and they demanded that it be returned. This turned into some arguing back and forth until a passing commissar helpfully intervened.>"There must be some misunderstanding here. You were obviously returning this equipment, and your assistance is greatly appreciated. The Gravediggers are critically short of equipment and every recovered lasgun is an additional warrior in the field. For that, you have my thanks, and the thanks of the Emperor of mankind. This is your duty, but you've gone above and beyond. Was there something that you needed?"As it turned out, one of the players had failed an ammo acquisition roll. The commissar got involved and a point of the desired ammunition was found. At that point, the PC's decided that hoarding looted Imperial gear wasn't worth the hassle.Being typical PC's, they still have a natural inclination to grab anything that's not nailed down, including xeno tech. I just remind them (through gameplay) that xeno tech is only of interest to the right buyer (who will happily lowball you, because where else are you going to sell it?) and if the wrong person notices it, it could be a problem. It took a while, but they're just about at the point now where they only grab shit that they're going to personally keep and use.
What would happen to a Space Marine that got PTSD? I know they are brainwashed and all that but what happens to one that was unable to handle something he went through? Do they get turned into combat servitors? Get more brainwashing?
>>97921192They are far more hardened and don't process experiences like that compared to normal men. Deathwatch has a good section for this in the insanity point part
>>97921192They don't is the short answer. Assuming they do, first step is the chaplain. From there, if the chapter is understanding some some good old fashioned prayer and fervour doesn't fix it, perhaps relegated to fleet duties or training aspirants, or some other support or administrative position. If not, back into the grinder, and may the Emperor grant him peace.
>>97921192>They vaporized Brother Lugubrious in front of me. I can't stop thinking about it. They murdered him! I hate them! I'LL KILL THEM ALL!Behold, a space marine's internal monologue as the God-Emperor intended.
What does the Imperium consider a "mutant?" Between The Leagues of Votann, the different abhumans and humans who grow up on worlds where humans adapt to the non-Earth climates where is the line drawn? If a custodian can go retire somewhere and become an Agent and no one notices something strange about their size where is the line between normal and mutant? I want to run a game about an agent of the Inquisition hunting mutants on Terra but don't know what they would look for.
>>97921322>What is a mutant"I'll know it when I see it."
>>97921192Consult the chaplain. If that doesn't work get your memory wiped. They were supposed to do that to marines that saw daemons after all.>>97921322They have no consistent standards, and even if they did almost no one would know them. Many worlds will have plenty of freaks (eg Necromunda), so you might get away with it. Other worlds will think a missing finger is worth stoning someone. Terra is probably both, depending on who you ask.
>>97920994Wrong thread friend, but I just store them in a few separate small containers (divided by faction) in case I would ever need one of them for some conversion of extra detail on terrain. It does come in handy quite often actually, even if most of them won't ever be used. There are also websites and sometimes points at conventions where you can trade unused bits
>>97921006Sounds like the players were just bad at handling the loot, you gotta know the game. You've got to trade for favors sometimes not cash, & its not like youre going to a super market with a bundle of looted goods.
>>97920157Asking why the Horus Heresy had to involve Chaos is stupid as the entire thing was written to be a chaos rebellion since 1988. Asking why Chaos is often involved in Imperial rebellions is due to a few factors. From a meta-perspective, it's because consumers and writers don't give a shit about mundane Imperial conflicts so much. Sadly, no one is asking questions about the Reign of Blood and the Plague of Unbelief. Talk about Gue'vesa only inspires a smattering of conversation and triggers Imperium fanboys into fits of declaring the Tau don't belong in 40k. There's no interest at all in human pirates. Chalk all that up to shit taste. From an in-universe perspective, the reason is because the Imperium tries very hard to rebellion-proof itself. It has stripped away all freedoms from its citizens. There is no movement, communication or thought without the Imperium's say so. A planet rebelling will rarely spark a wider rebellion outside of its system, in fact, most of the sector will never even become aware it had ever rebelled, and definitely not at the time that it was happening. So a rebellion is small, it cannot expect any kind of reinforcement, and is thus easy to crush. However, the Imperium does not have a policy of killing the leaders and letting bygones be bygones. A traitor cannot be saved, not even in death. As it becomes more and more apparent how desperate the situation is for these soon to be dead rebels, they will become more likely to attract the attentions of those things drawn to such powerful outcries of emotions.
>>97922061>you gotta know the game.AND HOW YOU PLAY ITALL ABOUT CONTROL, AND IF YOU CAN TAKE ITALL ABOUT THE DEBT, AND IF YOU CAN PAY ITIT'S ALL ABOUT PAIN, AND WHO'S GONNA MAKE IT
>>97921192Doubt forms the path to damnation. A more liberal chapter might forgive such small heresies, and the brother (possibly the whole squad for they share in failure) will be sent on a pentiment crusade to their assured doom or corruption. A normal chapter will probably just execute the heretic.
>>97921322Mutation as the Imperium uses it usually refers to sudden aberration as opposed to genetic drift. Usually. The guy with horns and hooves is fine as he comes from a people that all have horns and hooves and had so for generations. The guy who's hair changes from brown to blonde one day will be burned at the stake. But no seals from the Administratum will save those abhumans the day a particularly zealous Confessor drops planetside.
>>97923870>Asking why the Horus Heresy had to involve Chaos is stupid as the entire thing was written to be a chaos rebellion since 1988.The original Horus Heresy was a human general named Horus who slayed a fellow human general named Leman Russ, and was a footnote to explain mirror matches because GW was three guys in a double flat at the time. Chaos came later.
>>97924209What's your source for that? Even in Adeptus Titanicus the armies of Horus were decorating with the chaos star.
>>97924602Because you're talking about stuff from 1988/1989, but the books from 1987 says otherwise. The idea of the Horus Heresy basically didn't show up until two years after the game was created.
>>97925317Yeah retard, the idea of the Horus Heresy didn't fucking show up. The first mention of the heresy, or of Horus, detail a rebellion that was being orchestrated by Chaos. You knowing that Leman Russ shows up in the original RT corebook before primarchs were a thing only demonstrates what a midwit you are.
>>97920296How do you feel about adding a combat focused alternate rank for Water Caste Ambassador? Something like a Hundred Eyes Operative, basically a spy or infiltrator. Advances to Disguise and Interrogate, some combat talents, special abilities based around misdirection giving them guaranteed surprise on the first round of combat or convincing locals to join combat with them. That sort of deal.
>>97925317>RT released in Oct. 1987>Meanwhile, in WD96 released in Dec. 1987...Try two months, rather than two years.
>>97921192They do have memory-wipes, but usually they channel this into violence.Consider Tycho of the Blood Angels, who ended up hideously scarred by Orks. They 'solved' his problem by repeatedly sending him into combat so he could take out all that wrath on the Orks. Then he ended up in the Death Company. Then he died.
>>97925685>Hundred Eyes OperativeShit niggy thats fuckin genius, I might just incorporate that sort of thing into the main class. Need to research them more.
In black crusade there is rules for necron weapons, would it be to powerful to let a rogue trader party have em?After they defeat a boss ofc
>>97929080Have you not looked at the stats for necron weapons
>>979291322d10+28 for a voidscythe
>>97929501If i put some purity seals on it then it makes it okay
>>97929080The necron weapons in Black Crusade are scaled upwards because the writer forgot the strength bonus wasn't included in the weapon's stats. The necron weapons in Outer Reach and Fear and Loathing fix this and match each other, so the weapons make more sense.
>>97929080DO NOT UNDER ANY FUCKING CIRCUMSTANCES DO THIS. Necron weapons in Black Crusade are fucked up due to whichever asshole wrote them taking them from the Deathwatch statblocks and forgetting to remove the necron's strength bonus, so you're hitting with your strength PLUS a necron's strength. They're broken, don't fucking do this. Learn how to analyze statblocks and reverse-engineer melee damage codes, it's simple subtraction.
>>97929080How do they stop them from phasing away?
https://gofile.io/d/FNOOG5I've made a Forged in the Dark Deathwatch hack about two years ago. I am currently developing a full game with a campaign setting with the serial numbers filed off.The Deathwatch hack does actually play quite well as high action one shots.
A friend of mine complained to me that turning a land raider into a daemon engine just ends up making it worse, via a significant decrease in armor and wounds. Is this the case? If so, are there brews that make daemon engines worthwhile?
>>97931244You barge inside the tomb world and steal their shit with the help of the mechanicus
>>97931244You don't. You beat the shit out of them, then break into their house, beat the shit out of them again and then take their shit. It's a mugging and robbery squared.
>>97932577>>97932868Even if you get it from the source, it's gonna phase out. All of their stuff does that, which is why it's hard to capture any of it.
>>97933058Thats what the admech is for. Its like you dont even listen...
>>97931872Wouldn't think of that, but now that I think of it, yeah, I can see that system working well for Deathwatch. I do love the original FFG system so I'll probably stick to it, but FitD is a great mechanic too. Great work anon, really cool! When it comes to unusual conventions I've been thinking about making a Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader hack for Storyteller system (World of Darkness) for a while now

There is an update to The Fringe is Yours in the mega folder. The changelog for this version is so long that it will take two posts.https://mega.nz/folder/ouxCVIJD#ZdGQx36Dg4I3GfM7-kyoYwThe Fringe is Yours (v1.13.7)Changelog (pt 1):>Various typos fixed.>Sslyth infobox no longer cut off.>Wych's starting Wychsuit is now set properly to Good-quality.>Kabalite now gets base Command at Rank 3.>Wych now gets Command +10 at Rank 6.>Added 25% more snek.>Enfeeble quality removed from the Electrocorrosive Whip. Simply put, I do not remember what that was supposed to be. As a reminder, Excruciating is an official quality. It is in Dark Heresy book Daemon Hunter, on p. 102.>Electrosteroid quality now incorporates the Murderous Strike quality. The need to "reload" is removed, as it made the weapon tedious to use.>Added the Knight Destrier and relevant weapons. Note that the Knight Destrier uses a new way of calculating damage. It is much lower compared to the days where Knights with S:D weapons could one-shot one another. This incorporates data from VF/SS and Ushabti battles, and you can expect other Knight weapons to get revisited in a similar way in the future.>Imperial Knight Castigator Boltcannon gains the Storm quality.
>>97936172Changelog (pt 2):>Added an infamous new armor upgrade for Drukhari.>Added one new talent for Sslyth.>Added five new talents for the Air Caste Sky Captain.>The Shas'o High Commander lost Void Admiral and gained Air of Authority. Expect more improvements in the future.>The Kor'o Supreme Admiral lost talents like Navigate (Webway) and Good Reputation (Underworld). These were missed during the Closer2Codex Updates. More improvements in the future are highly likely.>Air Caste Sky Captain and Water Caste Ambassador armor are now Good Quality, and they both start with the FTGG talent.>Air Caste Sky Captain Repair Drones talent now works on both vehicles and voidships.>Air Caste Sky Captain Voidship Hunter now adds half Per bonus to Penetrator Rounds quality, since T'au macrocannons were reworked last year. The talent is moved down from Rank 8 to rank 7.>Water Caste Ambassador now starts with the Air of Authority talent.>Air Caste Sky Captain Special Ability "Ace Styles" slightly improved - Mercenary Ace ignores penalties to range and boosts orbital bombardments, Soldier Ace grants a bonus to Fighter Operations, and Knight Ace now adds to Voidships as well.>Phosphex Web Projector ship component range reduced from 6-30 to 6-15, but gains the Spray quality. This weapon will eventually be removed, fully updated, and placed in Anarchy in the Galaxy, but I'm leaving it in here for reference until then.Note that I really like the idea of incorporating Hundred Eyes Operative stuff into the Water Caste Ambassador, but I need to do more reading on the specifics. That will not be for a while.
Future updates for books will add the Starfang Jetbike for Corsairs in Fear and Loathing, add the Pilgryms and Hastarii for Mars Needs Women, fix a few small typo fixes for Gold Experience Requiem, and add the Kapricus, Primaris Ironkin, and Magna-Coil starship torpedoes to Manual for Manlets. I will also likely start recruiting again for Project ND in a week or so.
>>97933425>yeah, I can see that system working well for DeathwatchAdmittedly I don't know anything about the system, but...>Blades in the Dark is a tabletop role-playing game by John Harper about a crew of daring scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city.Does not strike me as space marines. What's the elevator pitch for adapting Deathwatch to it?
Do traitor Astartes retain their hate for mutants and xenos that they were taught by the Imperium? I want to write up a home brew for a Traitor War Band that mixes Astartes, Guardsmen, some xenos that left the Tau and a few lost Orcs but I don't know if that would be workable in the cannon.
>>97937157Heresy-era marines are incredibly human-supremacist, but the Imperium in those days did integrate a number of minor xenos who seemed usable as auxiliaries, as evidenced by Fulgrim having hoped for that fate for the Laer.Current-era marines are generally going to be much firmer in human supremacy. The old attitude was more akin to "humans are the best and everyone should recognize that" and the new attitude is more "humans are the only thing in this galaxy which is pure and good, and aliens are vile scum whose very existence is a crime as they use resources that belong to us".Modify accordingly for source legion/chapter and sector, attitudes will have incredible variance and nuance depending on locality and era. Some chapters may consider a specific ork warband to be tentative allies, some may think the same of a specific brand of corsair. It's a huge galaxy covering an incredible timespan and if you give even the slightest shit about adherence to the source material, anything you produce will be plausible.Just don't paint fucking trans xenos catgirl marines. I shit you not I saw that once and I will never be clean of it.
>>97936985The core mechanics aren't focused strictly on stealth or crime. They're designed for strongly narrative, fast moving, high stakes scenarios which are very much focused on the mission at hand. They were basically made for recreating something that feels like a heist movie in an RPG format, which isn't all that different from a Deathwatch special operation
>>97917961>ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO TELL ME THAT THE COPPER WIRING IS CORRUPTED BY CHAOS TOO, DUSTINyes and By forces you might least expect.
Are Space Marines meant to be the equal of Orks or their superior?
I have some lore questions.>Do Tau ever turn to Chaos? I know they have dim souls, but ever?>Same question for Votann>Same question for Orks and Eldar. I know Eldar get gobbled up by Slaanesh if they don't have soulstones when they die, but are there any who end up worshipping Khorne or whatever anyway?>Actually same question in general for Genestealer Cults>Do the Demiurge still exist as presumably Votann who work for the Tau, or were they retconned when Votann were formally made?>Does the Imperium consider Votann to be abhumans or xenos?
>>97938638Also, what does the Tau Empire do with its human psykers? They must have at least a few.
>>97938587Physically more or less equal, but generally superior due to better gear and tactics
>>97938587Orks are like if a space marine was retarded, unarmored, and incapable of aiming. Despite this, they are no less lethal.>>97938638>Chaos TauNot that I am aware of. They mostly just die.>Chaos Dwarfs in spaceNot that I am aware of, but they should.>OrksChaos Orks were a thing in the really early editions but the WAAAGH Field appears to get in the way of it lately.>EldarChaos Eldar used to be a thing but new lore is that if chaos touches them, Slaanesh slurps them up, so generally no. If so, Deldar would pretty universally be chaos elves.>GenestealersTyranid derivatives, so no, there's generally not enough 'soul' to latch onto. I figure they'd die.>DemiurgeThey never worked for the Tau, they traded their technology to them. They were retconned to be a League which fucked off from the galactic core. This also means tau tech is DAOT humanity derivative.>Abhuman/xenosThe Imperum hasn't decided yet, it'll depend on what's politik at the time. Abhuman is a word you use to integrate a stable human mutation into the Imperium instead of culling them, the space dwarves are a local peer power and thus cannot be integrated.>Psykers in tau spaceIf they're smart, they'll shoot them. If they're less smart, they'll study them. If they're morons, they'll breed them to make more. I imagine vivisections to find out how they work aren't too far off the mark, and I can only imagine thorough study of them will result in some Event Horizon type of horror shit in an isolated laboratory station somewhere in an otherwise abandoned system. If I said anything blatantly wrong here I welcome the inevitable correction by an eager anon with source in hand.
>>97938675My man, that is a thread for roleplaying games, not wargames and for Warhammer 40k, not Age of Sigmar. Try the AoS generalBut don't worry, start by reading the rulebooks and you should be fineNot very familar with AoS, but starter kits like this are usually enough for like a beginner small scale games, however full fledged large armies for tournaments and such are much bigger
>>97938687> Chaos Dwarfs in spaceThe helsmiths and dark mechanicum/iron warriors have kind of replaced them as the whole "Grinding industry with a focus on heavy casualties and daemon engines" unfortunately.
>>97938845I'm pretty sure I could lose four fingers in an industrial accident and still count every darkmech book on that hand.
>>97937157The core tenant of Imperial belief is loyalty and compliance to the Imperium. Allying with xenos or even dropping the human supremacy belief entirely is only a heresy, and heresy is forgivable (usually in death/torture/servitorization). The traitor can never be forgiven. If they've already betrayed the core tenant of their faith, the rest stand up a lot less strongly. Does it make sense for CSM to remain xenophobic? Yes. Does it make sense for them to drop it? Also yes. It's a big galaxy, and the distinction between human and non-human becomes a lot less relevant when you have horns and hooves and your cohorts have actual functioning buttholes for faces, while you all get together on Sunday to pray to what are essentially xenos of another dimension.
>>97920157Well, there ARE occasional non-Chaos Imperial splitoffs, one of the most prominent examples being the Severan Dominate. However, some are less succesful than others, either standing their ground before gradual decay and eventual destruction, or being quickly put down at the moment of inception. The Severan Dominate is very interesting, there's a chapter on them in the Enemies of the Imperium supplement for Only War. Real good.
>>97920157>Why?Because the writers said so. It's not your universe, it's theirs. And they have laid down the rule that any deviation from the theocracy inexorably summons space satans, thus proving the theocracy correct.>>97940246People overhype the severan dominate BADLY just because of aesthetics and a map.
>>97940613>overhype the Severan DominateDude, going against the Imperium of Man, one of the most formidable forces in the Galaxy, using their own technology against them, while surviving to become a significant figure in a world where a cosmic aneurysm can wipe you out like a grain of sand against a gust of wind with whatever unholy horror lurks in the shadows or just a brief visit from Space Satanists and their adjacent byproducts. CADIA EXPLODED AND THESE GUYS ARE STILL AROUND. That is noteworthy, to say the least. And yes, the aesthetics are a big plus.
>>97940658They're not significant though, they're one of thousands of doomed to fail secessionists. They're only noteworthy because they were created for the RPGs as an example secession, and the only ones who sing their praises are secondaries who don't actually play 40k. They're an insignificant footnote in the grand scheme of things that have never been referenced since. That said, it's questionable if they're even around anymore, considering they're in Nihilus, but the Great Rift didn't change too much of the Koronus Expanse and Calixis Sector so far, so it's a tossup.
>>97940658I like the Dominate, but it's doomed and only managed to survive as long as it did because>the dynasty in charge of it has been basically slowly setting up the secession for generations - the sector officials probably knew and could have stopped it, but just had more important shit to deal with than that >it got help from fucking Dark Eldar and has to regularly sell its own citizens to them to stay afloat>is located in the absolute ass end of Galaxy that nobody cares about>most of local Imperial forces were already occupied in other crusadesAnd on top of that it's not even some serious ideological rebellion from the Imperium - it operates largely the same and even still worships the Emprah, the only reason the secession happened at all was because subsector's ruling dynasty had a millenia long exterminatus-tier butthurt against the sector leadership. It was more about Scintilla than the Imperium as a whole
There is a very minor update to the Gold Experience Requiem in the mega folder. https://mega.nz/folder/ouxCVIJD#ZdGQx36Dg4I3GfM7-kyoYwGold Experience Requiem (v1.6.8)Changelog:>Outriders are now called Raider-Pattern bikes. They were given a proper name in newer material. Before that, I guessed.>Leman Russ Incinerator and Annihilator Multilasers fixed to have Reliable instead of Tearing. Must have been a copy-paste error. So something weird happened to the Gold Experience Requiem master document. A bunch of random text blocks across the document somehow shifted from Times New Roman to ColumbusMT, throwing off sizing and scaling. There didn't seem to be any sort of pattern that I could find regarding the blocks that shifted. I don't know how or why it happened, but I fixed it wherever I saw it. I've seen this happen rarely in other documents, but never at this scale before. The document should be restored now, though.
>>97940684The Great Rift is arguably the best possible thing that could happen for the Dominate to ensure its continued survival, because it means Calixis has way less resources to send its way to the Spinward Front, and will likely have better shit to do. Essentially, it's the Dominate getting extremely fucking lucky, which frankly is what it needed to survive the tag-teaming it was getting from its Dark Eldar allies, Waaagh! Grimtoof, the Imperium, and Chaos.
There is also a small update to Fear and Loathing in the mega folder now as well.https://mega.nz/folder/ouxCVIJD#ZdGQx36Dg4I3GfM7-kyoYwFear and Loathing in the Eastern Fringe (v1.8.41)>The Vyper Jetbike no longer has the Open-Topped quality for its turret. It got a model refresh after nearly THIRTY YEARS, and the turret is now armored.>Added the Starfang Jetbike for Anhrathe Corsairs>Fixed a reference to XV-84 battlesuits in the XV-89 entry. This was a copy-paste error.I was debating whether or not to put an entry in for the XV-26 Stealth Suit. However, it doesn't seem to differ too much from the XV-25 in terms of stats, capability, and aesthetics, and so I'm not sure it warrants an entry. However, if someone knows something I don't, then I'm willing to reconsider.
>>97918119yes because once you blow a mutant's head off, it tends to die within moment, if not immediately, although there are som outliers and edge cases.A machine, however, is much different. its not just the machine-spirit that becomes a daemonhost, the properties of the material and components of the machine itself become tainted by not only warp energies but daemonic essence. those copper wires may look completely mundane, but the matter of fact is they are warp-touched and a risk to anything they get inserted into and everyone that handle those wires. The best way to explain it is this. The Imperium has to be vigilant at all time forever. Chaos has to be lucky ONCE.This happens all over the galaxy where everyone is super dutiful, pious, on alert, but it just takes one time, one lapse in judgement, and chaos seizes the opportunity. Chaos is like the ocean around a submarine. if the submarine develops a weakness in its hull, the ocean's pressure will continuously pressure everywhere at once, but once the weakness turns into a small fissure and water starts leaking in, even if just drops at a time, if left uncheck the sub's hull will breach and chaos will flow in like a cascade of brine.
>>97935375SoWe stepped into the Cathedrum, found a pristine statue of Drusus holding his own decapitated head. Callidia touched it and failed a WP check, got cp for the first time (thankfully reduced from exorcism package and armour of content). Woman oopsied in doubt and caused the corruption to claim the statue... she's just a girl. The gyrinx spots a narrow passage forward, we listen to the psychic cat, we have psychic toxoplamosis. Galen gets stuck and very angry, we get him unstuck. In the next room we get rushed by a group of Pilgrims of Hayte with chainaxes and a Dybuk (they don't know what it is yet, only that it smells daemon, looks daemon and walks daemon).Callidia proceeds to autofire 1/3 of the hayters with the twink-linked Hecuter and landing many headshots. I forgot the +20 from twinlinked and thus didnt kill as many as should have lol, lmao.Jack out leashed cowardly blank nodifs the Dybuk with his deldar pistol, not even he believes he did it.Cellanus goes palpatine and smites some, Callidia finishes the rest by causing them to die intoxicated due to high lead concetration in the air. Galen thunderhammers the discount daemonhost into nothing.Jack gets pressured, pep talked, manipulated, girlbossed into actually changing his path to join the Inquisition and plead his life to Big E-Money. If he doesnt, he's dead anyway and not even from us blowing his shit smoove off.For themes and such, Callidia hands him an Arbites Ringleader and tells him to execute the last remaining heretic. Jack must wield the Emperor's judgement and execute it, also she wants him to ditch the d/eldar pistols and wield true weapons of man!Jack gets convinced into becoming a killer, shoots the heretic in the gut to die a slow terrible death instead of blowing his head off. He needs work, but he's getting the spirit, we will make him a true killer and servant of the emperor yet.We are killing sinderfell tomorrow.
>>97941000I read a blurb a while back about chaos ships being salvaged for their adamantium content, which is heavily reprocessed and reconsecrated before use. I imagine such methods are sufficient.
Ups.

I have a question about something happening in an upcoming game:The game takes place in Commorragh and deals with experiments done by a Haemonculi trying to mate a captured Space Marine with a normal human. My question is what would the offspring be like? How much of the genetic modifications be passed on to the child?
>>97941988Geneseed isn't stored in the balls.
Had anyone statet the Volkite blaster for the Dark Heresy or Only War?Its the weapon of the Tech-Priest Dominus
>>97941988Like sensei minus any kind of cool powers. So just a normal human. Plus what ever fucked up defects result from whatever the haemonculi did to get a space marine fertile.
>>97941506>armour of content>contentI guess all that twitter fanart helped somehow :^)
>>97941988Just regular human. Everything about a Space Marine is grafted on
>>97918431It really does. I had to explain to a newfag that 40k wasn't originally a game of hero units and that that's a recent thing. It about broke my brain that someone could think the reason 40k is/ was popular is because lord genericus it's an immortal badass.
So i wanted to ask a question, but /grog/ might not be the best place for that. is there any fan rpg or supplement for running the 40k on the first edition rogue trader era, you know, angry space cops period?
>>97942674I don't know of any homebrew for existing 40k RPGs, but you might want to check Warpstar! - it's an OSRish game designed to emulate the feel of early 40k and other British sci-fi from this period Haven't tried it myself, but a friend recommended it to me
>>97942002>>97942431>>97942628That's honestly very disappointing. I was hoping it would lead to something interesting. I'll have to rethink that whole story. Would mixing a Custodian and normal human create something more interesting? Maybe try creating a Space Marine out of a young girl as an experiment?
>>97944887The only ones who know how to make a new Custodian live in the Imperial Palace and haven't left for 10,000 years. Anyone else figuring out the process is impossible, since making Custodians involves somehow taking the soul out of a baby and implanting it into a gene-perfected fleshmachine. The female space marine cannot work, since the geneseed is warp-based, and keys off male biological factors, since the purpose of geneseed is to turn a human child into a lesser copy of a Primarch. This means that women and blanks are incompatible.
>>97944887Anon, the Spess Woofs are known for still being sexually active and while we don't know for certain it was after transformation, we know Marines that have descendants the manual way (Lukas the Trickster).
A new update to The Good, The Bad, and the Alpha Legion is in the mega folder.https://mega.nz/folder/ouxCVIJD#ZdGQx36Dg4I3GfM7-kyoYwThe Good, The Bad, and the Alpha Legion (v1.12.13)Changelog:>Added the Ascalon Superheavy Assault Tank.Note that the Ascalon here is based off the info from Legions Imperialis. When it inevitably gets a full scale kit and update, this block will be updated to take into account all new information. More concerningly, the GBAL document also had text corruption, with some text swapped to Columbus MT and some swapped to Times New Roman PSMT. I am starting to get concerned that the documents are undergoing deeper corruption than I expected. As always, if anyone sees any issues, let me know.
How hard would it be for a character to routinely swap bionic arms and legs/cosmetic changes so an admech can be a viable spy/undercover asset for the Inquisition?
>>97945173Magos Biologis my dude. Don't need to swap parts when you just dunk yourself into a whole new vatgrown body or have the most extensive surgical reconstruction, or something.
>>97944979Space Wolves are also known for being mutants, so that solves that anomaly.
>>97945263Where's the rules for that? That'd be bad ass
>>97920157Chaos provides the gigasteroids necessary to fight the Imperium. Badab started Chaos-free but Huron got desperate. Gue'vesa get Tau tech so they also punch above their weight. There are examples in canon where a random planet just tries to go it alone but they usually last about halfway through a short story. As a real life example, look at how during the Cold War, every podunk civil war had one side pandering to the US and the other to the Soviets, they probably couldn't even spell bourgeois (I certainly can't) but it meant they got free guns.
>>97945884Oh I have zero fucking clue. But I was trying to answer it from a lore standpoint. Magos Biologis go for a lot more biomodding rather than mechanics, since "The Holy Human Form is the Perfect Machine" as they view it. Which is almost but not quite doctrinal heresy that they skirt because the Omnissiah said humans rock.
>>97945173They could just have inconspicuous augments in the first place, and there's face changers in the rulebooks already. But from memory the books have swapping, specifically engineered, augmetics as a multi-hour process with a level of fatigue, so not too difficult.
>>97944979>the only marines that still fuck women are the dogsOf course.
>>97945884IIRC in one of Rogue Trader expansions. Into the Storm I think

>>97945048damn you're on a roll recently with the updates shas, new campaign starting soon?

>>97917961>>97918119Yes the copper wire most certainly can be tainted. There is a Eisenhorn short story in which a holographer's plate ink is inhabited by a powerful daemonic entity that steals the souls of anyone that is rendered in it. The material can very easily be twisted by malign forces, and often its irreversible. The few instances it can be still leaves stains. Do not underestimate the perfidious nature of the ruinous powers. Burn everything and leave nothing to chance lest the curses of mankind's residual fears manifest in a door that opens to somwhere it shouldn't, a glass that turns your drink to ichor, a gun that leaks faithless hate into your being, or even a vox that whispers to you and offers you nothing as everything >>97921006Yeah in field acquisitions should be relatively limited in the case of actual imperial equipment. Like stealing from a local PDF enough ammo and weapons is one thing, but forming a stolen lasgun pile off the corpses o allies to sell for profit is going to draw eyes when the gear recovery rate falls through the toilet.
>>97948606>twin-linked, silenced, fire selector, laser sight and loaded in manstoppers>90 bullet clipImagine being an average den of cultists and then the hospital sister unleashes a cloud of bullets onto you.
It's fun to kidnap local members of the PDF when you get the chance. You can effectively do this in any of the books or systems if you want. It's probably the easiest to do in Rogue Trader, as you can promise food and other such luxuries.
>>97948648>you are in fact literally shoving three magazines into one gun Yeah that's the description. The point was to make it so you can switch ammo types like judge dredd, but in the end it just increases your ammo capacity too. So far I've seen no reason to load them with anything but manstoppers.>I advise you to use a shitload of explosives. In our previous encounter, she was shown to be quite vulnerable to frag grenades and stub rounds as pic related. The plan is to kill her and take her body/remains/leftovers with us so we can put it in a box and seal it.>Why?She has been declared "killed yesterday" before and somehow has returned. Our mission is to kill her tomorrow and make sure she stays killed. There is a high chance she gets the highest ends of Critical Wounds - Explosive Damage table that pulverizes her, if that happens we won't have a body to bring back as proof. However we sourced lots of det-packs and underhive goons to bring the Orsini Palace down when we leave.>>97948648that's exactly what happened last session, and I had forgotten the +20 for most of the bulletstorm. The other Sisters might not like Callidia's affinity for stubbers, but she can autofire cultists for 15 minutes at 1/2 the ammo price.
Would a tier 3 talent for dh2 that allows the psyker to use an adapted version of the Eldar's Eldritch Mastery table from RT be a little too overpowered? Cuts down on failures and power, but I'm looking for a way to make the player feel accomplished without learning yet more powers.
>>97920212Horus was becoming that way. Even without Erebus kindly helping the post-transhuman godling Realise His Dreams (tm) he probably would have rebelled. Horus was patrick bateman, no real personality, a mirror. And over time when he started to develop one it grated on him that the emperor was the way he was. Horus didn't want to be his tool. Even after he's temporarily returned to sanity in a fight with.. was it Russ? He sort of decides to ride things out.
>>97948787The planetary governors don’t want you to know this but the PDF troopers at the hive are free you can take them home I have 458 thousand pdf troopers>>97946941I want to start recruiting again for Project ND in a week or so. It's been tough to find peeps. As for updates, I want to try and get an update to MNW out but I had to go into work today so my schedule is off-kilter today.
>>97949399Any required reading for your recruits?
>>97948312I doubt that. Ministorum services are designed to make people fall in line, there's a lot of call and response involved that's basically "you will not break the law" followed by "the Emperor protects". They have no reason to obscure their messages or theology. When they would hear High Gothic is more likely to be when the Arbites read from the Lex Imperialis, followed by getting their teeth punched in for not following a law they didn't and still don't know existed.
>>97949449Not really, I usually try to ease peeps in slowly, and keep things new-player friendly, but there is a seven page infodoc with basic info that I'll re-release around friday or saturday, with all the chargen stuff and background. Main books to have would be Fear and Loathing and Fringe is Yours for characters, and RT/OW for the rulesets (it's RT with OW combat rules). For now, think T'au, drukhari, sslyth, and kroot in a mix of espionage, yakuza, and hotline miami. The hardest thing last recruitment period was peeps' schedules. I only have EST weekday evenings available because of work, but I'm trying to stretch some of those times out to make more opportunities for everyone.
>>97949506What's the prefered communication?
>>97949527If accepted, I'll send peeps an invite to a discord server so everyone can chat about game stuff. Discord will be used for as long as it's viable and doesn't do stupid personal info bullshit. The series itself will be on IRC because it's easy to use and free. I don't see the need to make peeps buy external stuff to do a game.
>>97949506>>97949554How does combat differ between RT and OW?
>>97948665I'm mostly talking Hive Gangers & useful idiots of the real corrupt dudes. A lot of that can be salvaged, & purified. Even if you do pull corrupted copper out of the walls, you can purify it if need be. It's still better for the party to take it & determine if it's corrupted, than to leave it to create problems. And if you're picking up the guns of an guardsman or whatever you are stealing from the Emperor, but it doesn't mean you can't bundle a lot of them up & ship them back to to the Guard with a smile & earn a favor or two
>>97949492Bullshit. The Ministorum is discount Catholicism & High Gothic is discount Latin.
>>97949620It's mostly the same but full auto bonuses are tuned down to make single shots viable, and melee attacks are treated like full auto with a hit on every degree of success instead of separate attacks to make things easier.
>>97949659I've not had the chance to play either yet so I don't fully understand the significant of full auto. Or really any of what you described, but I'll figure it out.
>>97949683in the older systems, the firing rates gave a bonus to hit due to weight of fire, so single shot was +0, and full auto was +20. This made single shot useless. It got changed to +10 single shot and -10 full auto, so it became an actual tradeoff between hit bonus and damage. Melee used to be individual attacks - regular roll once, swift roll twice, lightning roll 3 times, but reactions could only be used against one, making it tedious to track. It got changed to one roll, and an attack based on success on the test, consolidating things.
>>97949757>so single shot was +0, and full auto was +20This sounds dumb, why would they do that?
>>97949808More bullet = more chances to hit. They realized this was retarded a few years in.
>>97949853the old system was better. more bullets = more hitting is perfectly appropriate for 40k. single shot is a drawback you endure for sniper rifles and lascannons that are too good for autofire. now we have shoot boys that cannot hit and guardsmen that are more threatening throwing their heavy bolter shells than shooting them
>>97949871The old system made suppression weapons like heavy bolters better snipers than a sniper rifle.
>>97949930Automatic weapons ARE better weapons than sniper rifles. Why do you think every military switched to dakka over single shot precision?
>>97949930in the new system suppression weapons are only usable by elite shooters, while any idiot can pick up a sniper rifle and do well because they are the easiest weapons to use.
>>97944926>The only ones who know how to make a new Custodian live in the Imperial Palace and haven't left for 10,000 years. Anyone else figuring out the process is impossible, since making Custodians involves somehow taking the soul out of a baby and implanting it into a gene-perfected fleshmachine.Where is this? I'm not doubting you but I would love to read about this
>>97949620Aside from differences in how auto fire works, one crucial and very significant difference is that now a standard semi-auto/full auto shot is a half action instead of a full action as before. Meaning you can still make a strong attack, but still have a half action left to do something else besides that - move a bit further, aim better or something else entirely. Gives a bit more variety and tactical options to combat

>>97949627Saying this makes me seriously doubt you know much about the Catholic church or the setting.
One of my players really like wuxia and cultivation shit I was thinking of adding some of that cultivation stuff to my next campaign for him. Does anybody have an opinion on where it should land though? Gay sorcery? Or rigid sigma grindset and therefore kosher
>>97951823Assassin or Templar Calix.
>>97951823Admech is like cultivation. The Flesh is Weak
>>97951563No, that's the first thing to ban for campaigns.
>>97951573Latin was the language of the church. Mostly people only knew Latin because of church sermons.
>>97951563No xenos, but I had an Ogryn OC once in Rogue Trader. Player actually did a fantastic job at roleplaying him as something in-between a child and a retard, while still making him genuinely a compelling character and a useful party member. He was ex-IG (regiment almost completely wiped out) who was taken in by the Rogue Trader as a bodyguard and the RT quickly became basically a father figure for him. They had a great dynamic. Also the party would regularly use him for simple spy assignments (such as planting a listening device somewhere or entering a cult hideout with a hidden camera on), because NPCs generally didn't expect that such a retard could actually be up to something cunningNever had a xeno PC, few players considered it, but ended up playing something else. One group hired an NPC Kroot merc though and she accompanied them on quite a few adventures before being ripped to shreds by a Necron Tomb Spider. The players have grown quite attached to her. In general I'd never allow a newbie or an untested player to play as a xeno, I would also veto it if I knew the rest of the party is going to be rather puritan. But if a trusted player, who I know is well familiarised with the setting and can pull of portraying a very unusual character with weird social standing in a meaningful way, wanted to play one, then sure, very interesting things could come out of it
>>97954207Ogryn PC, fuck
>>97954207Did you name him Doughnut Steel?

What are good noncombat psyker powers that I can take? I don't want to explode heads I want to be a step ahead. What things can I do that no one else can do? I'd rather kill with a gun than my powers because a gun won't trigger perils. I'd rather trust armor to save me than Warp flesh and barriers. So beyond telepathy what are some good options?
>>97956121Divination
>>97954207Are you guys not intimidated by the technobabble when playing a 40k game? I would just get tripped up trying to remember all the mundane word equivalents or describing an environment with all the tech and just get stuck on "uh, it looks gothic with spikes and stuff". Or talking about computers and their functon where or electric power. "the mainframe is something something conduit generator cable" Even being a player and trying to remember decaff and voxx and all the military rank babble "auxiliae with the auspex latin latin" and speak on it with som authority, impossible, and I've read a few 40k books now. 'll just stick to fantasy where I can be a retard and still sell a convincing world
>>97956983Nobody expects you to be perfectly in-character at all times, anon. That's some critical role nonsense. If you're really worried about it, just binge-read the splatbooks until it sinks in. This will also have he effect of granting you greater familiarity with the rules.
>>97956983I've been into this fucking setting for almost 20 years now, read plenty of novels, lots of RRG sourcebooks, played most vidya adaptations worth a damn and lurked the wiki to hell and back. So yeah, by now I've learned most of the lingo. It also helps a bit that I do know some basic Latin. But obviously it's not like I expect the same amount of autistic commitment from any of my players, far from it. They can just use normal, everyday language and don't know much of the lore and that is perfectly all right, they still end up having fun. Sometimes I'll just throw a quick explanation at them. But you absolutely don't have to use 40k lingo to play 40k RPGs. I've had players who didn't even roleplay in 1st person much and would instead say things like "my character is trying to do X", or "my character tells the NPC Y". Not as immersive in my opinion, but if they feel better doing it that way, it's fine
>>97956983>>97957047Oh, I also have a handout with definitions of most commonly encountered 40k specific terms that I sometimes give to newbie players, along with a rule reference handout
>>97957013>>97957047I think the 40k stuff is just another layer on top of the fear of playing sci fi in general for fear of not being able to adequately describe technology because I don't know shit about it, not even to do it in a bullshit surface level way.
>>97936172>Enfeeble quality removed from the Electrocorrosive Whip. Simply put, I do not remember what that was supposed to be.If I had to guess, it'd probably be the same as the daemon weapon quality in Black Crusade, i.e; 1d10 Strength Damage with every wounding hit.

>>97957060>Sci-fi setting: Hard mode>modern day setting: Prepare to expose your lack of life experience in front of everyone mode
>>97957067impressive, but the same guy in the video would stutter and piss himself if one of his players would pick a tech-class and start talking about ip adresses
>>97957060I think 40k is easy mode when it comes to that. Most people in the setting don't know how their tech works and even when portraying tech-priests you can almost always just stick to something like "machine spirit is displeased, I will perform a litany of purification". I personally like to smuggle a bit of hard sci-fi into 40k, mostly when it comes to designing planetary environments or spaceship related stuff, but let's be honest, unless you have some turbo autists at your table nobody will care if you'll just make your tech behave in any way you need it to. >>97957080100% this, I don't have trouble with sci-fi even though I'm very far from being a science expert, but whenever I play stuff like WoD I just keep realising that my understanding of how various aspects of our society actually works is often embarassingly shallow.
>>97957091I am getting a degree in computer sciences.I am also playing the decker in my group's Shadowrun game.My GM doesn't give a fuck about IPs and subnets and ssh and ping and SaaS and hybrid cloud, and I don't inflict it on him. He has told me "if it sounds plausible, I'll allow it" and he trusts me not to fuck him over on it.There must be a certain level of maturity and understanding among the group that you are all there to have fun, and throwing out a legion of terminology nobody else understands to try to wheedle your way into breaking shit or prove how cool you are actively prevents everyone else from having fun.Inversely, saying computer instead of cogitator or priest instead of ecclesiarch or reactor instead of plasma genatorium is not going to make your players screech and ree and rip their hair out and fling shit at your walls. The video provides a large amount of utterly nonsense terminology that sounds vaguely correct, and serves to illustrate that you don't need to know everything about everything in order to say shit about something. Nobody gives a fuck about the molecular composition of the hull plating you're melting through or the thermal dynamics of a melta weapon as it acts upon it. You fucking handwave it, because you're here to breach the ship's bridge and take its crew hostage, not sit down for a speedmath session in which you obsess over numbers.
>>97957128You vastly underestimate how hard it would be to come up with just a passing technobabble line, even if you only say one or two sentences and then handwave the rest. was the point. I have the inkling that just a little bit would go a long way to sell it, but that little bit is hard to get to. Still thanks for the vote of confidence.
>>97956983I dm'd a fantasy game with a real-life smith once. Every shopping session or interaction with him or question about weapons was something I completely avoided because of this.
Could an Eldar appreciate human music or would they get bored because it doesn’t beam emotions directly into their brains?
>>97957230What is your purpose here?
>>97957237It's bumpfag, ignore him.
>>97956983More than half of all the words people think are technobabble in 40K are literally just British words of common items. Another large chunk are just basic chemical names that sound unfamiliar to the common neckbeard. All of it is tongue-in-cheek.Ceramite = Suped up ceramics Adamantium = From adamantine, hard as a diamond. More popular from X-Men than 40K.Rockcrete = colloquial Britshism for concrete.Geller Field = Literally the name of the guy who made the device.Psyker/psycher = Britishism for psychic.Lighter/Runabout = Standard name for small boats and small aircraft currently on Earth.Glow-globe/Torch = Flashlight.Electoo = Electric tattoo.Bolter = Britshism for large bore gun.Daemon = British spelling for Demon.Bas-relief = Literally sculpture art used forever you uncultured swine.Cogitator = Thinker; LLM assisted device. A computer computes and a cogitator cogitates.Dataslate = Everything from a PDA to a tablet depending on your gaming needs.
>>97957289>Rockcrete = colloquial Britshism for concrete.Huh, had no idea
>>97957289>Cogitator = LLM assisted deviceThe fuck it is, there's a forty year gap between those concepts. LLMs are a dead-end technology and are not applicable to cool scifi computers.Cogitators don't need to shittily emulate thought with bad programming, they have actual physical meat neurons as an integral component.
>>97957370While you are right regarding cogitators, 40k is beginning to adopt some modern technologies. Based on its description and art, a Votanni A.N-vyl, for instance, seems to be a very advanced 3d printer. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that T'au also partially "print" their buildings now, but I could be wrong about that one.
As someone who has a passing interest in potentially running a campaign for friends but have never DM'd before and only ever played 3 sessiosn of Starfinder before the group collapsed, which 40k system would you recommend?
>>97957997Only War, DH2 for the old systems, and Imperium Maledictum for the new, since it's basically DH3. The old and new systems aren't compatible with each other though, so you'll have to pick a lane.
>>97958007Thanks Anon. What are the key differences between old and new system? Anything that makes one preferable to the other?
>>97958070They're all the small-scale simplest games to get into, which helps a new GM keep things focused and grounded. They also share the same basic framework, but IM runs slightly smoother, and is a "living" system in that it gets regular updates. In IM, you pick a patron, and that defines your players' roles and available actions. The older systems are "dead", in that they're only reprinted for posterity and won't get any new official material. However, those old systems (OW, DH2, DH1, RT, BC) are roughly compatible with each other so you have a huge amount of material to draw on, like enemies, weapons, etc. In the old systems, you pick the system for the type of game you want to run, like OW for military experience and combat, DH for investigation, rogue trader for exploration and adventure, etc.
>>97958070NTA, but they are generally similar, the biggest difference being probably the way character creation and development works. In the older systems (Dark Heresy for playing as acolytes of Inquisition, Rogue Trader for playing as RT and their retinue and Deathwatch for playing as Space Marines) what sort of skills or perks you could buy as advancements was largely dedicated by your character's career/specialisation (basically class). There were some ways to branch out or obtain a skill or talent you wouldn't normally be able to get, but class was still pretty important. By contrast the newer systems (Black Crusade for playing as Chaos worshippers, Only War for playing as Imperial Guard soldiers and Dark Heresy 2ed) have more freeform progression where your starting class mostly just influences what sort of things you begin with and/or what advancements you can buy for cheaper, but other than that you can spend your xp on whatever. It offers more freedom obviously, but from my experience can be quite overwhelming to newbies who aren't familar with the system yet.Other than that the newer version of the system mostly just does a bunch of polishing/balancing changes to the combat system and few other things, but the overall mechanics are basically the same and you can easily port the changes to older games without any major issues if you want to
>>97958070If you play IM do know that the gear/equipment section needs a lot of love/fixing to be useful. Theyve printed things that are exactly the same, under different names & made a lot of weird changes to stuff while other things seem like they literally copy pasted shit from FFG games. One example is the Augmetic Heart. In FFG it gave you an armor point & the sprint Talent. Now it functions like Autosanguine. But now we have Autosanguine & it works differently & still no Augmetic that gives chest armor, no subnormal armor or cranial armor either. Then theirs Intigrated Weapon & Weapon Arm (I think? Im away from books right now) which are the exact same thing but with different names & slightly different names. Still no MIU interface or MIU Weapon. But they had a misprint of the MIU in the core until they changed it to something else. Just lots of odd things. My quick fix is to have the Aug Heart give 1 armor & upgrades your speed by one. Then allow the Integrated Weapon that doesn't penalize you to be an MIU on the shoulder
Anyone got that hilarious image of the Ultramarine lifting a chaos chosen over his head?
in the fallen sun adventure, if my PCs craft has a lot of components that swiften the travel can i have it help durying the battle to stop the blockade?
>>97959306If your GM lets you
>>97959306Haven't read that one yet, but if it makes sense in the context and doesn't completely break the whole scenario, why the hell not, I'd allow it as a GM. Premade adventures should be approached with plenty of flexibility and be adjusted to the group
>>97959329>Haven't read that one yetwithout spoilering too much you have to use a eldar ship or your to reach footfall in a timely manner, the webway takes 3 days, an unmodified warp travel 2 weeks, but a runecaster halves that by default and hads +20 bonus to navigator tests alone.also when do you stop letting your player stack bonuses like >teleportarium +20 bonus command test>murder servitor +20 command test>barrack +20 command test>best storm troopers is +10 command test>bridge of antiquity is also +10
>>97960098IIRC no test can have a larger modifier than +/-60
>>97960098You dont.
>>97960108what about increasing speed of cruiser considering>conversion matrix +5>best craftmanship trusters +3>modified stc +1 >gravity sails +1>
>>97960543Thrusters don't boost speed. To get a +5 speed on a cruiser you need to sacrifice 25 power, what the fuck are you doing
>>97960579This only works on a full carrier.>>97960543If they can get their grubby little mitts on all this nonsense they should be allowed to benefit from it. They'll probably be a bit side-eyed by proper Imperials if they take the sails though.

I asked this several weeks ago and got some interesting answers so I've decided to ask it again:If you could rewrite or remove anything from the lore what would it be? I'd give the Necrons and the tyranids some kind of handicap like everyone else has or just get rid of them. The Necrons have a time limit because they are slowly going insane so they need to hurry up and go back to flesh and blood.
>>97962341Necrons actually do have a limit. While there are a lot of them, they cannot make any more.
>>97944887To build on the other anon, even if you did make a female space marine, it'd just be a normal marine, not a "feminine" one. Everything 'natural" about a space marine is coopted and overridden to make them what they are, whatever their original genetics had to say about it is more or less irrelevant. I'd even go so far as to say if you managed to make a girl into a space marine, she should turn into a man as a result of the process as the geneseed transformed her biology.
Any homebrew for playng eldars?
>>97962341I'd get rid of male space Marines and custodes, and replace them with ugly females.

I need help with some questions about astarte Dreadnoughts. Assuming he is never put in stasis/put to sleep how long would your average Dreadnought pilot live once put in the chassis? I'm not talking about the dreadnoughts used by Custodians, just ones that house space marines. Also, what would happen if a normal non-augmented human were to be put in one?
Other questions about Dreadnoughts:Do they count towards a chapter's 1,000 members? If a pilot doesn't like his chassis can he pick another? How does a pilot eat once inside?
>>97968596Basically forever, the sarcophagus is a full life support box made for astartes. >Normal personThis has actually happened before. They'd live but they'd go insane from being in what is effectively a sensory derivation chamber that keeps them alive. This is assuming they're not wired to actually pilot a dread which is noted to inflict massive amounts of pain even astartes even they can die of.>>97968615No. Generally no. They don't.
>>97962341Make Eldars triclops.

Bros.. posted a while ago about my voice in particular. It's not great for an Inquisitor, so I made another audio drama instead. Covers very dark themes, in an Inquisitorial interrogation format. tl;dr - captured rebel, a hero who fought against Gue'vesa and mutant forces during his planet's brutal civil war, and then went rogue afterwards. Rate:https://youtu.be/idqUHRwZYMU?si=NRZMWwQrcxEPGd4s
>>97936985>Does not strike me as space marines. What's the elevator pitch for adapting Deathwatch to it?it allows for narrative focused high action missions (one shots) without getting bogged down in minute rules details. You can play through a mission in 2 to 3 hours.I wanted to emulate the feeling of Space Marine 2, where you fight through hordes of xenos as a transhuman walking tank, but it doesn't take an hour to go through one combat.
How do i handle a trade endeavour or military one.Like how do i structure them and make rhem work?
>>97968615The 1k marine limit is not strict, and difficult to enforce anyway.Selecting a chassis will be done by his brothers who have his interests at heart, but the Imperium is not the modern Western world where freedom and choice are considered important to accommodate in general. Besides which they're very rare and few chapters will have that many anyway.
>>97969597I hate to break it to you fren but Endeavors don't fucking work. They're a lousy gamification of doing shit you were already going to do. Instead of bargaining with a guy to come to a trade agreement and getting money out of it, you bargain with a guy for a trade agreement which gets you points and when you have enough points you get money out of it. It's a useless third step.
>>97960543You don't need any of this shit. A tech-priest pushing the engine with his 140 Tech-Use is going to provide more extra speed on his own than all the components in the game. Anyway, who cares? Speed isn't a particularly powerful trait.
>>97917961My players loot everything they can all the time, but most of it isn't worth carrying out. Especially in Rogue Trader, unless what you're looting is a mining colony, it's not going to be enough to move the needle on your personal wealth. And if you're running around somewhere where the copper wiring is both valuable and undefended, someone else will have long since scavenged it already.
>Sir, how does mounting all of the previous crewmen’s skulls on an internal shrine help the tank kill more orks?
>>97971047If we put the shrine on the outside then the skulls would get damaged, stupid.
>>97969597Like the other anon said, endeavour system is a weird and wonky attempt at over-structuring and gamifying something that doesn't really need it, i.e. scenario design. I don't think many people actually use it, at least as written, and I don't think it's worth doing so. That being said, I do use a somewhat modified version of it to assess how profitable the scenario at hand really was to the player Dynasty. Basically I give them positive achievement points for completing their goals, securing substantial assets or resources and for any relevant talents/ship components they have and I give them negative achievement points for losing assets or squandering resources. Then I sum it all up at the end of scenario and adjust their profit factor based on how well they scored compared to some arbitrary brackets I set up beforehand. That being said if you do need some basic ideas plot-wise:Trade:>Your dynasty agents discovered a planet with worthwhile resources, but after initial investigation they inform you that X, Y and Z will have to be done/obtained first to start properly extracting it>As above, but there's something wrong with the planet and it needs to be taken care of first>Ships carrying your goods are being attacked by pirates/xenos/rivals. You need to either eliminate the threat, secure some sort of extra protection by obtaining escort ships or making a deal with some other faction that could assist you, or chart an alternative warp route they could fly through (and probably stumble upon some adventure along the way)>You need to find a buyer for some of your excess goods. You may first need to some investigative work to find the right person, do some errand to impress them and get on their good side or find some dirt/do some sabotage on a potential supplier from rival familyMilitary:>Your colony/ally/some imperial faction/desperate isolated planet asks you to eliminate a threat/defend them/aid them in battle/supply their armies
>>97971047Because their souls in the Warp will be compelled to continue to serve & they might be able to protect us a little from the daemons clawing at reality. But you aren't supposed to know too much about that
>>97971047They have gone ahead to the Emperor after their service, and we being them with us that we might bear that light, that sacrifice into battle. Question it again and *your* skull will be left behind when your time comes, soldier.
Can someone please explain to me what "Souls" are in this setting? How can a person be born without one? How do Necrons live without them? How do Eldar transfer them into their soul stones?
>>97969157That is an appealing value proposition, but one that would be difficult to commit to for me. The heavy abstraction your summary implies is very hard for me to mesh with my own simulationist autism.
>>97920205When I used to live in Whitby (Canada, not UK) there was a very impressive library. They had public use 3D printers, a large DVD section with shows like Sharpe's Rifles and nearly the entire HH book range.
>>97974520>necrons>live
>>97974586
>>97974520>How is a person born without one.Blanks don't lack souls, their souls emit an "anti-light" if that makes sense, or a negative soul. Not just a lack but an inverse wavelength as I understand it. But it's easier to call them souless. >How do Necrons live without themMost don't and the ones that are self-aware are all kinds of messed up.>How do Eldar transfer them into their soul stones? Not exactly transferring more so like the soul stone is... a spirit-catcher. So when an Eldar dies, it gets sucked into the stone rather than into Slaanesh's maw.
Can you guess what we are doing tonight, anons?
>>97974520The soul is a bit of warp stuff that a person naturally imprints on with their psychic abilities. It sort of acts as a sponge in the warp for collecting other bits of warp stuff that the owner may or may not be able to make use of (namely psykers being able to pull it into the materium). You can pull a soul into the materium, it just needs a shell to host it, sort of like a daemon. Necrons keep theirs in their body. Usually it will dissipate into diffuse warp stuff after about a year after death. This is not true for psykers, as they naturally place their minds into their soul as a last attempt of self-preservation (at least that's my guess as to what happens). There's an argument to be made as to whether the soul is actually you.

I am once again opening recruitment for Project ND, a RT/OW game for T'au/Drukhari/Kroot/Sslyth characters that mixes tactical espionage action with high-impact underworld violence as you seek out something that can upend the balance of power in the Solaris Expanse. All the information needed is in the following document.https://mega.nz/file/YugEiCrR#EkaNrnhBd1gI1-qYICnOEvIYTlFM5aubPZX6BQHMeZQRecruitment will be open for a two week period, ending on Saturday 5/16. I'm in the eastern standard time zone, so consider accordingly. A few peeps already applied during the first go - I still have your applications! You are good to go! You do not need to make any updates, unless something changed for you. As for everyone else, I wish you luck in any applications.
>>97985516You're probably not gonna find players here. These threads are basically dead, there's probably less than 30 people at any time. >>97989127No harm in asking.
>>97989335Could you go a little more into the different factions of the Solar Expanse? Who owns what sector and a bit about them?
>>97989969I can give a quick rundown, but a lot of the specifics tend to get hashed out in games, as players interact with the various people and planets and learn things at their own pace. A lot of the Expanse has been directly shaped by countless players' input, and their actions echo to the present.Orbis Subsector: The capital of Imperial presence, situated on an Old Slann megastructure. Ruled by a trio of Paragons of Metal forged by the Fabricator General during the Horus Heresy, the Paragon Triumvirate administer and guide Imperial presence in the Expanse, allowing the Crusaders to take their own initiative. From here, the crusaders who arrived split along ideological lines, choosing to fight for the Imperium in their own ways.Varitia Sector: This Crusader State was founded by crusaders who believed in the Imperial Truth. Due to player choices made in a previous game, they are the more powerful of the two Imperial sectors. They specialize in fighting xenos, and maintain a defensive line against the threats adjacent to them. There is rare trade with the xenos empires of the Shining Hinterlands (when they aren't fighting), and a number of governors and generals have been subverted by the House of Korst'la through their greed.Redentor Sector: This Crusader State was founded by crusaders who believed in the Imperial Creed. Due to player choices made in a previous game, they are the weaker of the two Imperial sectors. Their focus is destroying the xenos of the Shining Hinterlands, but they have to deal with tons of chaos infiltration and spread of heresy due to the presence of the Sydian Abyss warp storm nearby. Beset on all sides, standard Imperial procedure is slowly strangling them from within, but their faith is strongest of all. They hate the House with a passion.
>>97990147Mechanicum Demesne: Founded by players of another game, the Mechanicum Demesne feeds the Crusader States with war materiel and supplies. They have fiefs owned by the Legio Cybernetica, Ordo Reductor, Electropriest factions, and more. They are specialists in studying the xenotech of the Expanse, including the Ever-Chosen Axiom used by the Old Slann, and one of their three ruling Magi is in direct cahoots with the House. They accidentally activated the Old Slann, awoke the Neb-ta-Djeser, and opened the Sydian Abyss.Squat New New Homeworlds: Established by the Squats that accompanied the Crusade, they set up shop in the inhospitable core, and function as a bulwark against the xenos and chaos forces that border them. They are closely allied to the Redentor Sector in their siege mentality, have a cool relationship with the Mechanicum due to past grudges, and surprisingly have warm relations with the Realm of Settra, which causes them a big political headache. They have begun to incorporate Votanni technology into their armies after being separated for so long. They don't like the House at all, since the House partially enslaved some Squats back home due to a shittily-worded contract.Realm of Settra: Ruled by a dementia-addled Phaeron, Ramsestron, who only cares about those he calls friends, the Realm of Settra exists because said phaeron's head Nemesor, the draconic Settra, went apeshit and declared that he would not serve, only rule. Thus he hit the Dynasty of the Neb-ta-Djeser like an unstoppable meteor, claiming territory before an Armistice was signed. Because Ramsestron helped the Squats in a previous game, they consider the dynasty as kin. Their territory is under constant attack by the Old Slann, which suits Settra just fine. The House has limited access to the Crownworld as part of a business deal.
>>97990160Dynasty of the Neb-ta-Djeser: Sent to the Expanse during the War in Heaven to fight the Slann, Phaeron Neterekh woke up to a shitstorm of the Abyss crunching his flank, the Old Slann awakening ahead of him, and the Realm of Settra burning his coreworlds. Now he's focused on rebuilding and reawakening his forces before he loses any more territory, and sets off once again to smack down some Slann. Hates just about everything that's happening, but has a NAP with the Mechanicum due to player actions.Calibrations of Xholankha: A number of shield worlds and megastructures that acted as the local nexus of the Old Slann ecumene, the only things that walk here are ghosts of the dead and preprogrammed bioconstructs. Waves of unthinking Skinks, Saurus, and more emerge from spawning pools and fight under the command of wraithsteel Armiger constructs that hold the spirits of the long-dead Slann. Their awakening gave a hiccup to House expansion. Their psychic strength is unparalleled, and they are out to resume their Great Plan, which has gone horribly astray in 65 million years.La Grande Delusion: Isolated shadowports hidden in nebulae and connected by webway, the territory of the House is focused on commerce and illicit activities defended by well paid and motivated mercenaries. Each shadowport is influenced by the syndicates, cartels, and auxiliaries that call them home. Surrounded on all sides, the head of the House, Korst'la VIII, needs to find a gamechanger to prevent his new territories from collapsing.
How feasible is it for a rogue trader, pirate lord, planetary governor, etc. to get their hands on some looted auramite? I mean buying it or stealing it, not killing a custodian or somehow obtaining it within the Imperium.
>>97990166The Sydian Abyss is a Warpstorm. The Shining Hinterlands are the poorly explored frontier. I haven't finished filling those two out yet...but maybe its your turn to leave a mark on the Expanse? I will also say this - I REALLY don't like infodumping. I prefer things be slowly introduced naturally over time, with peeps discovering things as they pop up, and players learning things alongside their characters. However, if you want more information on specific sectors or worlds, there's an executable / script in the Mega called "Codicier's Librarium" which has all the currently-existing sectors and planets of the Solaris Expanse, and I mean to give that out to players who get accepted so they can better plan missions and objectives. Maybe you can give it a spin too, and learn alongside your future characters. That script contains a majority of the upcoming book Anarchy in the Galaxy Chapter 1, so the information is good.
>>97990172Well it's supposed to be extremely rare, but I don't think Imperial Palace hoards every single gram of it in existence, so I guess it is possible that somebody could get their hands on a small amount of it. Not really into goldenboys lore though
>>97990172Not only no, but fuck you amounts of no.Auramite is the closest we get in-setting to magical god metal and it's used solely to armor the immortal demigod bodyguards of the Emperor himself, on Holy Terra which is half a galaxy away. Your best bet, and I shit you not when I say this, is to get your grubby little mitts on a terminator captain's suit for the shard of Big E's armor found in its Crux Terminatus. Given that this is an actual divine relic, space marine chapters have a very vested interest in not losing these, and if they do they tend to stop at nothing to get them back. And yes, it specifically has to be a terminator captain's suit, it's absolutely not in every single termie suit. Given that a chapter is very well off if it can even outfit itself with the standard hundred termie suits, you'll likely find only a single such suit per chapter, unless it's the fucking smurfs. Said chapter having such a suit becomes vanishingly less likely the worse off they are and/or the further they are from the standard founding process.
>>97990208The Grey Knights have it in every terminator suit because they are special boys. But the auramite in the Crux Terminatus is literally a shard of the Emperor’s own armor. And it’s a tiny fragment at that. Surely it would be easier to grab some generic auramite off of a custodes jet bike or something? Or if you must kill space marines, go balls deep and hunt chapter masters. I think a number of them have custodes weaponry in their possession.Anyways, was auramite ever used in the daot or age of strife? Or did it only come about after the Emperor revealed himself? What did they use for their armor back then?
>>97990172Rare as fuck but there’s probably a handful of suits floating around somewhere. They lost (over) 9000 Custodes in the webway war, so maybe there are some in there.
>>97990355How common do you think Custodes wargear is? They never left Terra in force for ten thousand years, and when they leave at all it's either with no wargear as Eyes of the Emperor or it's to go solo a hive fleet. The death of a Custodes is such a rare event it's probably happened less than a hundred times since the Heresy. You'd need to be a power equivalent to a Terran noble or a sector lord to even have a chance at finding some, and if you didn't keep it quiet enough you'd get a very tall and very yellow stranger knocking politely at your door to repossess it.
>>97985516>T'au/Drukhari/Kroot/SslythHow on Terra are these supposed to form a coherent party?
>>97990160>Squat New New HomeworldsHow many Squat New New Homeworlds do you think are in the galaxy?
>>97990534Well see, first there were the Old Homeworlds, which were eaten by nids. The survivors left the core and established the New Homeworlds. Then a bunch went on the Solaris Crusade, and started claiming territory. They couldn't name these the New Homeworlds again since those already existed. So they named them the New New Homeworlds. Simple as. The real shock to the system was realizing they weren't alone after all, and the Votanni Kin were out there, completely alien to them...>>97990477The same way it worked out just fine as a coherent party the last time I ran for T'au/Drukhari characters a decade and a half ago. This is a criminal syndicate made out of T'au and Drukhari, so as long as they at least tolerate one another, they make more money in the long run. Gotta get the cash, gotta get the dough. Body for a price? Just say so.
>>97990477join and find out
>>97990604Hope I didn't miss the game that was Squat focused. These guys in the system sound cool.
>>97991298>Hope I didn't miss the game that was Squat focused. Well, you probably did, considering it happened fourteen years ago, in 2012.. The after-effects of that game continue to be felt in future ones. In this case, a network of oath reinforcement and alliances led to the Squats getting the Votanni tech, and stuff happening from there. One day in the future there I want to run another Squat series, but Project ND is focus first.
How much does your average Space Marine in non-terminator armor weigh? I was creating an urban city scape to run a match and started to get curious how they can fight in urban areas without falling though the floors.
>>97991454They're big guys
>>97991495>For you
>>97991454Imperial construction is generally far more robust than modern terran infrastructure. You're not going to run into issues outside of shanty towns and/or primitive civilizations.
>>97990172Auramite might be available to the richest & most decadent. You won't get nothing close to Custodes equipment, but you should be able to get the material itself
>>97917722Is the Admech book for Imperium Maledictum that bad? also does anyone have a .pdf?
>>97992142Pdf is where you can usually find it.It's as bad as the rest of IM. Which is surprisingly bad. You'd think all they would really need to do is polish & codify FFG, making minimum changes, but boy did they fuck it up
>>97992151I don't know where I would "usually find it." My friends and I have been playing IM (we played DH1 back in high school) and I want to see if the new book adds any meaningful mechanical changes.
>>97992185Well gatekeeping books is the only think keeping them available. The IM admech book adds some Noosphere uplink type mechanic which gives you Advantage on different technology related tests. Endevours to make combi weapons, factories, & other admech related stuff. Some minor stuff about Motive Force being able to power/depower tech stuff as well as using it as a weapon/cyber stuff. No real significant mechanics.
>>97990172i think if they have the right favours owed to them they could get a high lord to supply them with the stuff.you are better off with whatever dark age of technology wunderwaffe however
Any of you guys know what font FFG used for headings?
>>97990172I guess you might find some in some ancient Orkish treasure hoard from the crusade era.
>>97992675Try IM Fell English, but that might be for subheaders
>>97994621Did you ask an AI and then not even google the font name yourself to see what it looks like?
>>97994656kek caught
>>97994656Motherfucker, I went to the google doc that I assembled to ape the FFG style as best as possible and told you what I personally use. Go suffer through finding it out yourself if you don't want help.
>>97985516So I don't have to re-apply with my email from last time?
NEW>>97994888>>97994888>>97994888
>>97994732Already have, wouldn't have asked if I could find it myself. But if you had the font you're using in front of you, and the example image I posted, how in the world was it not completely obvious that they look nothing alike?
>>97992675think it's called requiem
>>97995098Seems to be a number of fonts with that name, and a few of them are kinda similar, but not the same.
