Inb4 retards cry about previous thread being page 3
>>97947076>why yes I enjoy spamming the board
>>97947062>TQJace because he's literally me minus the monster fucking>>97947079Uh oh melty
"8 mana spell should end the game" is hyperbole and shouldn't set expectations for card design.
I think a lot of people dislike UB because they're still seperating magic and their newly incorporated IPs in their head. But this isn't the case. It's 3am, a back alley in New York City. Jasper Flynt and Cloud are having a sword fight to the death.Ba Sing Se is under attack by the Phyrexians, and Toph teams up with Kamahl to stop her city from being compleated. Unfortunately, they already got to Long Feng...Morbius' long quest into the depths of the cabal fortress is complete, and he has finally found it: the Mirari. Now he has the power he needs to stand up to his rival, Chandra. So many UB lovers suffer from this too. They build a deck with Aang or Venom, and chafe when they find a really great card for their deck from UW magic or Dr. Who. They should simply accept that Zuko was born to lead around a horde of goblins and consult dark tomes to bind demons to his hunt for the avatar, and that Mai is totally jealous of how much time he's been spending with Yuffie recently.
>>97947099That's just an oversimplification of the casual sentiment that games should end in a climactic and "timely" turn, not a thoracle win on t1-t2
>>97947114I unironically love and support smash bros the card game and it's better for your long term mental health to do the same
>>97947062>TQWithout really being a huge lore nerd, Tezzeret. I always enjoy his cards, his design is cool, and I like his role as a perpetual backstabbing Starscream type lackey for whoever is the main villain all the time.
>>97947062>TQBolas. I loved when he punked the gatewatch, and the eternals were a sick army. War of the Spark is my comfort set. I'm very excited that he's escaped his gay baby jail and is soon to get a new card.
>>97947062Kaya, of course.
>>97947118you keep posting that partner combination on anything related to power discussion and I have to admit I have no idea why
>>97947099I agree it's kinda boring for the game to just end because a big sorcery resolved, but this has been a truth for a while. What I dislike is how people overapply the counterargument to say shit like It That Betrays shouldn't be a deck's wincon. It's a 12 mana creature with no protection. I would hope untapping with it wins the game.
>>97947137This "big bad villain" got a rewrite and now he's gay.
>>97947144Ever heard of argument from absurdity?A lot of bad casual tkes are reducible to rogsi because OTK is broken as a concept and that deck is the epitome of that
>>97947137I don't like him because his design is goofy and his sarcastic trash-talking is more annoying than funny.
>>97947148And being gay means can't be evil in nu-WotC writing.
>TQNot exactly recurring but a character I was was recurring.Juri's been referenced a few times but only has one card. I'd really like to see more of this metrosexual psycho clown fuck the next time ravnica shows up and I was really disappointed he didn't even show up in the Clue set.
>>97947227He'd fit right in in Duskmourn.
>>97947225It's really telling how even wotc is pushing back against bolas being gay
>>97947250>He doesn't knowEnemies to lovers and redeemed villain is the story's new MO.
>>97947269>enemies to lovers>redeemed villainThat's liliana and wotc did a half assed job with her
>>97947269So what you're saying is that Valgavoth will get a redemption arc and start dating Zimone?
>TQConceptually, I like Ugin. I think he's one of the more interesting backstories in magic. As far as the actual mechanics go though, I'm sick of seeing him and I hate playing with or against him.
>>97947294I listened to him in Arena and he sounds mean.
>>97947282I think her turnaround happened a little too abruptly after WAR. The plot points involving Lim-Dûl, the Onakke and Liliana's restoration of her family home were dropped and never got picked up by another character, so that's a bunch of story that was cut short so she could become a permanent fixture in Strixhaven.
>>97947284Would be pretty based as long its this version
>>97947334Are the pauldrons part of the school uniform?
>>97947150why? never played it
>>97947332It's also a hilarious fumble how JacexLili will-they-or-wont-they could've been milked by wotc for a decade plus but instead we get a vraska ship that was resolved in a few sets that will be undone anyway via reality fracture
>>97947344Yes they come free with the World of Warcraft subscription. Expect the pauldrons to get larger over time.
>>97947388I will unironically read story about Jace adventure collecting baddies across the multiverse.
>>97947062>TQMilkers mermaid
Return to Shandalar 2027
>>97947126>I like his role as a perpetual backstabbing Starscream type lackey for whoever is the main villain all the time.I think my favorite thing about EoE is that Tezzeret is not only AWARE he ends up the Starscream of every story arc he's actively trying to mitigate it by accepting that he is a Starscream
>>97947388>will-they-or-wont-theyThey definitely won't Lili hated Jace and still does.>>97947454>Jace adventure collecting baddiesLilliana is the one that picked up Jace. She pumped-and-dumped him for an artifact then bailed, it's why he didn't trust her when she asked for help and Gideon stepped up instead. When he had his little fucky-wucky on innistrad and went crazy she kicked him out into the woods and did nothing to help him lol.
>>97947062Karn. He's gotten just enough mix of worfing to the new threat and also ending the threat effortlessly while also being a decent person and trying his best.
>>97947513
Villeneuve is just a fun designer.>Werefoxes were part of the Beauty and the Beast archetype. There was no way I would leave that part of the push unexplored. Turns out my version of these very peculiar elves remained as the official one in the end. They allowed everything I like to do : working on strong silhouettes, mixing organic textures into a coherent ensemble. Look closely : not one piece of fabric involved. Only leaves, flower petals, wood, vegetal braiding, a touch of leather. I wanted them to feel like an autumn forest. The funniest part was definitely to show clearly their inner fox nature. It is especially obvious with the concept on the right, where it takes a second look to make sure whether we're looking at a humanoid's face or not.
>>97947545I know they wont at the story's current trajectory (unless they do a 180 via reality fracture), but the point is they should have and wotc is dumb to not do soEven a franchise made for males like gundam can be propped up by the power of shippers and ao3 fanfic writers (the normal ones ofc, which are almost all female)
>>97947311Lorewise, his mechanics and voice are completely divorced from how he's described. He's written as a guy who genuinely values nature, knowledge, and companionship despite effectively being one of the most powerful planeswalkers in existence, and isn't above sacrificing himself to maintain balance. But mechanically, you'd think he's an even bigger asshole than Bolas based on how his abilities shit on everything that isn't colorless. It's bizarre.
>>97947580women didn't like jace x lilliana, that's why it never happened.I don't remember where but they did a popularity poll and gideon was far more popular male character by women
>>97947609>I don't remember where but they did a popularity poll and gideon was far more popular male character by womenThen that only means gideon shouldve been the main character not jace and wotc shouldve pivoted accordingly, this isnt the own you think it is
>>97947580Wait is this why they made Bolas gay? Because woman like toxic yaoi relationships?
>>97947645I love retarded forced memes
>>97947651They LITERALLY fucked
>>97947666No, satan, I will not fall for you lies
>>97947645Yumes > fujos
>>97947638The goal behind Jace was:>we need the autistic white/asian male demowhich was the larger demo. Now he's a bad guy so they can push characters like Zimone(to get the young black girl demo that doesn't exist)WoTC being retarded doesn't make your idea smart though, no offense.
i kinda want to play some commander online with randomsis there a good place to go to do that? I dont care if the game quality is poor i just want to play
>>97947755Tabletop Simulator
>>97947717>WoTC being retarded doesn't make your idea smart though, no offense. If women can get into gundam fandom i dont see why mtg cannot, except naturally i can see it because mtg's characters suck and also look fucking awful, believe it or not normal women want pretty characters

Making some customer commanders to play with my bro, but I don't want to make "GOD JESUS CHRIST; 0 COST; WIN THE GAME, 99/99" tier cards. A few ideas I had:Cu Chulainn - RGWWarp Spasm - As long as this creature is in combat with one or more creatures, its base power becomes 1 plus their total toughness, and its base toughness becomes 1 plus their total power. 1/1The idea is he can square off and block any creature, but he also gets powered up fighting with his clan. I'm not sure from a rules perspective if I captured that. ---Another idea:Korlock, the Absolute Truth - 2GWLegendary Creature - Human Mystic4/4Mystics you control gain Trance (Noncreature spells and noncreature abilities treat this permanent as though it doesn't exist.)---Sleepyman, the Great Stillness 1 WURLegendary Creature - Naptime God0/5Creatures you control have Sleep (You may choose not to untap this creature during your untap step. As long as this creature is kept tapped this way, it is sleeping). Creatures can't attack you or planeswalkers you control unless their controller pays 1 for each sleeping creature you control.Nap interrupted - Whenever an opponent pays mana to attack you, at the beginning of your next upkeep, creatures you control gain +3/+0 and trample.---Blip of the Berserkergang 1RWG3/1You may exert this creature when it attacks. When you do, it deals damage eual to its power to each creature defending player controls. It assigns no combat damage this combat).
>>97947768Getting into the Gundam fandom just involves watching anime, not spending a bunch of money on cardboard and then hanging out with smelly nerds.
Ban island and forest
>>97947761Since everyone has access to every single card. How does that play out? Just RL cards everywhere?
>>97947755Mtgo
>>97947755Spelltable
>>97947794And why is the idea of getting women into the mtg fandom via reading stories/watching netflix (HAHA), not spending a bunch of money on cardboard and then hanging out with smelly nerds so impossible?
>>97947828I wouldn't say impossible, but probably because the stories/netflix suck.
>>97947828Nobody like secondary.
>>97947810The only RL cards that would see wide play would be duals and moxen, almost everything else is much more niche.
>>97947790Cuchulain could just be serene master's text with shared animosity stapled onto it.Sleepyman is just going to stall out games. Maybe "When a sleeping creature becomes untapped..." rather than when someone pays to attack.Blip could be just 2R. Also maybe double his power if he's exerted.Trance is an interesting card to get around boardwipes/counters/etc.
>>97947790>As long as this creature is in combat with one or more creaturesdoes that mean your creatures, or all creatures attacking and blocking, or all creatures blocking or being blocked by him? sworn defender, or life of the party? or both>Noncreature spells and noncreature abilities treat this permanent as though it doesn't existthis would probably be something like 'phases out whenever a spell or ability resolves, and phases back in when it finishes' or 'whenever another spell or ability is put on the stack, mystics you control phase out until the stack is empty'also weirdly specific deep cut creature type.>When you do, it deals damage equal to its power to each creature defending player controls. It assigns no combat damage this combat.I think this should be one sentence. "When you do, LEGENDNAME deals damage equal to its power to each creature defending player controls and he assigns no combat damage this combat."
>>97947847>would seeSo you don't actually use tabletop simulator and are just guessing. But your probably right. Tabletop simulator is perfect for all the proxyplayers. None of them own it and all of them play it
